The Internal Guidance System with Zen Cryar DeBrucke
vendredi 3 octobre 2025 • Duration 34:21
Here at BossMom, we know the best breakthroughs don't come from pretending everything's fine. They come when we're honest about the fear, the overwhelm, and the spirals of anxiety that so many of us carry while raising kids and building businesses.
In this episode, Dana sits down with Zen Cryar DeBrucke, creator of the Fear-Free Human Movement and founder of the Recreating You Game. Zen shares her work on the Internal Guidance System (IGS), a built-in compass we all have that helps us detect when our thoughts are leading us off track, and how to shift toward ones that open us up to alignment, peace, and possibility.
Together, they explore what it looks like to move past fear-based thinking, how to recognize the signals in your body that show you the truth, and why learning to pivot into "opening" thoughts can be the key to lasting emotional freedom.
If you've ever wondered how to stop the late-night worry spiral, how to respond to life's chaos with more clarity, or how to live and lead from a place of abundance instead of fear, this conversation will leave you inspired, grounded, and ready to trust the guidance system you already carry inside.

jeudi 30 novembre 2023 • Duration 37:46
We want to raise emotionally intelligent, connected and kind children who will become awesome adults. We want them to build good relationships, ask good questions and understand the purpose behind everything they do.

How do we help our kids communicate, develop and grow? How do we teach them lessons that allow them to thrive well into adulthood?
In this episode, I'm joined by writer, speaker, online community leader, and author of "52 Modern Manners for Kids", Brooke Romney. She shares why she's passionate about helping children build better relationships, learn good manners and feel more connected.

Gratitude Can Hurt You...Do This Instead
mercredi 22 novembre 2023 • Duration 07:57
Every time we tell someone to be grateful for something they find burdensome, frustrating and hard, all we do is create a bunch of guilt and resentment. There's something a lot better than gratitude - perspective.
What if instead of forcing gratitude, we admit that yes, this thing sucks, but we're doing it in service of a greater good or bigger goal? By allowing ourselves to shift perspective and not express gratitude for things we're not happy about, we're being honest with ourselves, and we move through it a lot easier.
In this episode, I talk about the danger of gratitude, and why perspective is way more effective.
You've got to decide the stuff you care about. That way, you can shift your perspective to why the hard things you're doing matter, then you can be grateful for the journey, even though the moments piss you off. -Dana Malstaff
3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode
-Your brain hates it when you're sneaky
Forcing yourself to be grateful for things you're not happy about backfires. What happens to our brains when we're not honest about something that sucks?
-Balancing things out
No one is grateful for allergies and other challenges. How can we use humor and perspective to deal with it?
-Don't deny what pisses you off
How do we find out what we care about so we know the hard things we have to do to get them?
