The Cross - Trees - Deuteronomy 3, Hebrews 403 Apr 202600:08:01
Some beginnings arrive disguised as endings, wrapped in loss or disappointment so heavy it’s hard to imagine anything good growing from them. As we remember the tree Jesus died on this Good Friday, we’re invited to see how God can take what looks like defeat and turn it into the very place where redemption, hope, and new life take root.

Olive Trees - Trees - Genesis 8, Matthew 2502 Apr 202600:09:23
It’s funny how something as ordinary as an olive—yes, a fruit!—can carry so much meaning when we look at it through the lens of Scripture. As we explore the olive tree’s resilience, richness, and symbolism, we begin to see how God uses even the simplest things to teach us about peace, provision, and the steady presence of His Spirit.

Fig Trees - Trees - Jeremiah 24, Mark 1101 Apr 202600:08:36
We all have those moments when the pressure builds and one more frustration feels like too much, but even Jesus had an encounter that looked a lot like that on the surface. As we look at His interaction with the fig tree, we discover a deeper story about spiritual fruit, resilience, and what it means to thrive even when life feels dry and demanding.

Trees of Eden - Trees - Genesis 2, Revelation 2231 Mar 202600:08:16
It’s funny how the things we weren’t ready to understand as kids make so much more sense now, and how God works the same way, giving wisdom in the right season rather than all at once. As we look back to Eden and the trees God planted with such intention, we’re reminded that His provision has always been abundant, purposeful, and rooted in love.

Trees in Scripture - Trees - Matthew 13, Isaiah 4130 Mar 202600:08:01
If you pause long enough to notice the trees around you—whether they’re towering evergreens or a single branch outside your window—you might be surprised by how much they quietly teach us about God. Scripture is full of these living metaphors, reminding us that just like the trees, our lives are meant to root deeply in Him and flourish in every season.

Lamentations 5 - The Way of Lament27 Mar 202600:08:26
As we learn to bring our honest pain before God, lament becomes less of a last resort and more of a sacred practice that steadies our hearts. In Lamentations 5, we’re reminded that even our messy, unstructured prayers are welcomed by a compassionate God who meets us in the chaos and gently leads us back to hope.

Lamentations 4 - The Way of Lament26 Mar 202600:08:21
When we look honestly at the brokenness around us, it’s no wonder we sometimes feel like exiles in a world that isn’t what God intended. Lament gives us a way to hold that ache before Him—letting our compassion stay soft, our hope stay alive, and our hearts stay connected to the God who is making all things new.

Lamentations 3 - The Way of Lament25 Mar 202600:08:21
When we stop trying to rush past our pain and instead face our hardest emotions with honesty, we often discover that God is already waiting for us in the messy middle. Lament teaches us that even in seasons we’d never choose, God uses truth, beauty, and His steady presence to shape our faith and draw us back to hope.

Lament isn’t about weakness—it’s a sacred way of bringing our pain, questions, and longing before a God who listens and grieves with us. As we explore why Scripture invites us to lament, we’re reminded that honest sorrow can deepen our relationship with God and open our hearts to His comfort and hope.

Lamentations 1 - The Way of Lament23 Mar 202600:08:27
We all carry emotions that don’t always feel easy to name—sadness, anger, worry—and yet Scripture shows us that God never asks us to hide them. As we step into the book of Lamentations, we’re reminded that lament is not a failure of faith but a faithful way of bringing our pain, questions, and longing for hope before the Lord. In a world full of brokenness, these ancient poems invite us to process our grief honestly and discover the God who meets us in the groaning and leads us toward healing.

Inside Out - Pharisees - Matthew 2320 Mar 202600:07:55
Sometimes the hardest person to be honest with is ourselves. We polish the outside, stack up our “good qualities,” and hope no one notices the messier parts we’ve tucked away. In Matthew 23, Jesus reminds us that real transformation starts from the inside out—inviting us to trade appearances for authenticity, and to let humility and a softened heart shape who we’re becoming.

Questions - Pharisees - Matthew 2219 Mar 202600:07:49
Questions have a way of revealing what’s really going on beneath the surface—whether we’re genuinely seeking truth or just trying to protect our own assumptions. In Matthew 22, Jesus faces a barrage of questions meant to trap Him, yet He turns each one into an invitation to think bigger, deeper, and more honestly about God’s kingdom. His responses remind us that faith isn’t about having all the right answers, but about letting our questions draw us closer to the heart of God.

Sin - Pharisees - John 918 Mar 202600:07:56
We’re quick to size people up, aren’t we? A glance, a rumor, a circumstance—and suddenly we think we know the whole story. John 9 reminds us that Jesus refuses to play by those rules; instead of assigning blame, He opens our eyes to a God who works through brokenness, not as punishment, but as possibility. As we watch Him heal a man everyone else had written off, we’re invited to let Him heal our own vision too—so we can see people, and God, with clearer eyes.

Forgiveness - Pharisees - Luke 717 Mar 202600:08:28
Forgiveness has a way of pulling us out of hiding, especially when we finally see the weight we’ve been carrying and the grace being offered in its place. In Luke 7, a woman with a reputation walks straight into a room full of critics because she’s been moved by a love she can’t ignore—while a Pharisee, certain of his own goodness, barely notices the Savior at his table. Her story invites us to remember just how much we’ve been forgiven, and to let gratitude—not pride—shape the way we come to Jesus.

Sabbath - Pharisees - Matthew 1216 Mar 202600:07:57
A Sabbath story can sneak up on us, especially when it exposes the places where our rule‑keeping has quietly taken the driver’s seat. Matthew 12 reminds us that Jesus isn’t impressed by our perfectly tied knots—He’s after hearts awake to mercy, willing to be interrupted for the sake of love. As we watch Him clash with the Pharisees, we’re invited to let Him unsettle our routines too, so compassion—not ritual—sets the rhythm of our rest.

Timothy - Greed - 1 Timothy 613 Mar 202600:07:41
We’ve all heard phrases that sound biblical but aren’t, and sometimes those half‑truths can quietly shape what we believe. Paul’s words to Timothy remind us that the problem isn’t money itself, but the way our hearts can chase it at the expense of contentment, devotion, and trust in God. This week, we’re leaning into what Scripture actually says so we can pursue a life that’s rich in what truly lasts.

Rich Man - Greed - Luke 1212 Mar 202600:08:09
Sometimes we chase after moments that make us feel “rich,” only to realize later that the real treasure was never the stuff we gained but the joy God wove into the experience. Jesus reminds us that life isn’t measured by what we accumulate, but by the posture of our hearts and the way we hold what we’ve been given. This week, we’re exploring what it means to be truly rich toward God—and how that kind of richness brings a deeper, lasting fullness.

David - Greed - 2 Samuel 11, 1211 Mar 202600:08:05
Greed has a sneaky way of showing up in our lives, especially when we use a moment or position to get something we want. David’s story reminds us how quickly self‑serving choices can spiral into harm, not just for us but for everyone around us. As we look at his example, we’re invited to let God search our hearts, grow our gratitude, and guide us toward choices that honor Him and protect others.

Achan - Greed - Joshua 710 Mar 202600:08:05
Sin rarely stays contained, and most of us have felt the sting of how our choices—especially those rooted in greed or self‑interest—spill into the lives of the people around us. Achan’s story is a sobering reminder that hidden disobedience can have real consequences for an entire community, not just the person who commits it. As we look at his example, we’re invited to examine our own hearts with honesty and let God lead us toward repentance, healing, and restored relationships.

Adam and Eve - Greed - Genesis 309 Mar 202600:08:01
Greed is one of those quiet sins we rarely talk about, yet it has a way of shaping our hearts more than we realize. After reading The Anti‑Greed Gospel, I’ve been reminded how easily the desire for “more” can pull us away from God and distort the way we see ourselves and others. This week, we’re digging into what Scripture says about greed—not to shame us, but to help us recognize it, release it, and trust God’s generosity instead.

The Early Church - God's Provision - Acts 2, 4, 506 Mar 202600:07:08
There are seasons when just keeping everyone fed and functioning feels like a full‑time job, and the smallest act of kindness can feel like a lifeline. I still remember a night when I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and barely holding things together—and a friend simply said, “Don’t bring anything. Just come.” That moment reminded me how deeply God cares for us through the people around us, and how we’re meant to carry one another when someone is running on empty.

Feeding the Crowds - God's Provision - Mark 6, 805 Mar 202600:07:27
Meals can sometimes feel like a small act of faith—staring at what looks like barely enough and hoping it somehow stretches further than logic says it should. I’ve had those moments of inviting someone in, heart full but pantry questionable, only to watch God turn simple ingredients into more-than-enough through the joy of shared company. Jesus feeding the crowds reminds me that God doesn’t just meet needs; He multiplies them, often right when we’re convinced we’re running short.

Elijah - God's Provision - 1 Kings 1704 Mar 202600:07:35
Sometimes God shows up in the places we least expect—right in the middle of the moments that felt wrong, inconvenient, or confusing at the time. I’ve lived through seasons where my gut said, “This can’t be it,” only to look back and realize God was quietly positioning everything for my good. Elijah’s story reminds me that God often works through the unlikely and the overlooked, meeting us in our hidden places with provision we never saw coming.

Manna - God's Provision - Exodus 1603 Mar 202600:07:56
There are days I feel like half my life is spent negotiating with picky eaters, adjusting meals on the fly, and trying to keep everyone fed without turning into a short‑order cook. It’s funny how quickly “What’s for dinner?” can turn into grumbling—yet I can’t help but see myself in the Israelites, forgetting God’s goodness the moment things feel uncertain. Their story of manna reminds me that even when we’re running low—on patience, energy, or faith—God meets us with exactly what we need for today.

Hagar - God's Provision - Genesis 16, 2102 Mar 202600:07:11
Sometimes faith feels straightforward in theory—trust God, follow Him, and expect His goodness to show up—but real life has a way of shaking that simplicity. When the world feels heavy and the brokenness around us becomes personal, it can leave us wondering how to keep believing that God sees us and still works for our good. In those moments, I find myself looking back at the stories where God met people in their deepest need, reminding me that His provision has never depended on perfect circumstances.

Paul - Repentance - Acts 9, 2627 Feb 202600:08:10
We’ve all seen those moments when someone’s life takes a turn so dramatic you can’t help but stop and stare—whether it’s a friend choosing sobriety, learning healthier patterns, or finally stepping into the person God created them to be. That kind of transformation is powerful, and Paul’s story might be the most striking example of it in Scripture. As we look at his journey from persecutor to preacher, we’re reminded that repentance isn’t instant perfection—it’s a process that reshapes us, redirects us, and ripples out to everyone around us.

Jesus - Repentance - John 8, Luke 1926 Feb 202600:08:30
It’s one thing to talk about repentance when you know what it feels like to mess up—but how do you call people to turn back to God when you’ve never taken a wrong step yourself? Jesus is the only one who could do that without a hint of hypocrisy, and yet He approaches people with compassion instead of condemnation. As we look at His encounters with the woman caught in sin and with Zacchaeus, we see a Savior whose kindness leads to real change and whose presence invites us into a life transformed.

John the Baptist - Repentance - Luke 3, Acts 1925 Feb 202600:07:33
Some people in our lives are great at giving us a heads‑up—those friends who tell you the truth straight, even when it’s uncomfortable, because they want what’s best for you. That’s a bit what John the Baptist was like: a bold voice calling people back to God, not to shame them but to prepare them for something better. As we look at his message of repentance, we’re reminded that turning back to God is an invitation into the life we were always meant to live.

Jonah - Repentance - Jonah24 Feb 202600:07:47
If you ever loved those old Choose‑Your‑Own‑Adventure books—the ones where one tiny decision could send you to treasure or disaster—then Jonah’s story might feel surprisingly familiar. It’s a tale full of detours, do‑overs, and unexpected twists, where running from God still somehow leads to grace. As we step into this prophet’s winding journey, we’re reminded that even when we choose the wrong page, God keeps offering us a chance to turn back and begin again.

Prophets - Repentance - Isaiah 5823 Feb 202600:07:57
If you’ve ever treated repentance like a spiritual performance review—constantly checking for mistakes and feeling weighed down by every misstep—you’re not alone. Many of us grew up thinking repentance meant trying harder, doing better, and somehow proving ourselves to God. But Isaiah 58 reminds us that repentance isn’t about perfection; it’s about turning back toward a God who invites us into compassion, renewal, and a changed heart rather than a flawless record.

Washed with Water - Promises That Hold Water - John 1320 Feb 202600:07:41
We all know what it feels like when someone serves us in a way that’s thoughtful, unexpected, or just plain humbling—it hits differently because it requires intention and sacrifice. That’s exactly what makes Jesus’ act of washing His disciples’ feet so powerful: it’s service that goes far deeper than the surface, reminding us that real love shows up in the low places. As we look at this moment, we’re invited not only to receive His care but to reflect it in the way we serve others.

Taming Water - Promises That Hold Water - Mark 4, Matthew 1419 Feb 202600:06:54
If you’ve ever been on a boat when the waves suddenly pick up, you know that uneasy feeling of wondering whether things are actually okay or if you should start panicking. Water has a way of reminding us how small we are—and how little control we really have. That’s why the stories of Jesus calming storms and walking on waves hit so deeply: they show us a God who isn’t rattled by the chaos that shakes us, and who reaches for us the moment we start to sink.

Living Water - Promises That Hold Water - John 418 Feb 202600:08:06
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably had at least one day where you suddenly realize you’ve gone hours without drinking any water. Our bodies depend on it more than we realize—and maybe that’s why the story of the woman at the well hits so close to home. Just as water keeps us alive physically, Jesus meets this woman with the promise of living water—the kind that restores, renews, and reaches the parts of us that feel worn out, overlooked, or spiritually thirsty.

Water to Wine - Promises That Hold Water - John 2, Hebrews 1017 Feb 202600:07:21
Some people can turn any moment into a celebration—like the friend who always has a spare cake mix and a fridge full of “just in case” party supplies. But even the best hosts know the panic of running out of something essential, which is exactly what makes Jesus’ first miracle so surprising and so comforting. In a story where a simple shortage could have ended the celebration, Jesus steps in to show us that God cares about the everyday moments we worry about and delights in meeting us with unexpected abundance.

Waters of Baptism - Promises That Hold Water - Matthew 3, John 316 Feb 202600:08:30
We’ve all had that moment—sipping a cozy cup of coffee, only to feel it suddenly dripping down our hands or soaking our lap. It’s funny how something as simple as a leaky mug can remind us how much we crave things that hold steady. This week, as we look at the waters of baptism and the way Jesus steps into every part of our human experience, we’re reminded that while our cups may crack, His promises never do.

Delivered - The Lord's Prayer - Matthew 6:1313 Feb 202600:07:57
Matthew 6:13 can be a tricky passage for some, me included. An important note here: God doesn't tempt us with wrongdoing, just so we can be punished when we choose it. Rather, He gives us opportunities to train us so we can tackle whatever we face throughout our lives, and our faith can be refined.

Love is Victorious - Light and Life - 1 John 506 Feb 202600:08:36
Some days I feel victorious, but most days I’m just trying to keep all the plates spinning—getting the kids where they need to be, checking off the to‑do list, squeezing in a little creativity, and maybe ending the day with enough energy left to breathe. Victory can look like accomplishment, quiet, learning something new, or simply making it through without falling apart. But John reminds us of a deeper truth: in Christ, we’re already victorious, not because we’ve mastered our lives, but because God’s love has already overcome everything that tries to wear us down.

Love Made Complete - Light and Life - 1 John 405 Feb 202600:08:31
When you think of love, your mind might jump to Valentine’s aisles overflowing with pink hearts or the predictable sweetness of a Hallmark movie—but John invites us into something far deeper than romance or sentiment. He points us toward a love that isn’t about butterflies or grand gestures, but about recognizing Christ, living through Him, and letting that shape how we show up in the world. As we step into today’s passage, we’re reminded that real love—the kind that comes from God—changes everything about how we see, discern, and care for the people right in front of us.

Love Lavished - Light and Life - 1 John 304 Feb 202600:08:12
When I think of being pampered, my mind goes straight to rare spa days or the simple joy of someone else cooking for me—those small, unexpected moments that feel abundant and thoughtful. It struck me recently that the way those gestures make me feel seen and cared for is just a tiny glimpse of the over‑the‑top, beyond‑expectation love God pours out on us every day. That’s the kind of lavish love John invites us to notice, receive, and ultimately reflect as we follow Jesus.

What Light Loves - Light and Life - 1 John 203 Feb 202600:09:24
I’ll never forget the day my son wandered straight into the path of a speeding bike, completely unaware while I called his name louder and louder. My frustration wasn’t really about his behavior—it was that he didn’t hear me when I was trying to protect him, when all I wanted was for him to trust that I was guiding him toward safety. That moment has stayed with me, because it mirrors what God desires from us too: not perfection, but a heart that listens and trusts as we learn to walk in His light.

Sometimes I think about how few things I’ve truly seen “from the beginning.” Even with my own kids—whom I met on their very first day—I’m still discovering who they’re becoming, reminding me that most beginnings start long before we ever notice them. Have you ever read a familiar passage and suddenly a detail jumps out that you somehow missed every other time? It’s amazing how one small shift in what we notice can open up an entirely new perspective. The Woman With the Issue of Blood - Prompted By Faith - Mark 529 Jan 202600:08:10
Crowds can bring out the best or worst in us, and I still remember the first time I stepped into one after the pandemic—my heart raced, my chest tightened, and I had to escape just to breathe again. So when I read the story of the woman who pushed through a crushing crowd just to reach Jesus, I can only imagine the courage it took for her to show up in her pain, her isolation, and her desperation. Her story reminds us that even when we feel unseen or defined by the things we’d rather hide, Jesus meets us with healing, dignity, and a tenderness that calls us by faith, not by our suffering.

Jehosheba and Huldah - Prompted By Faith - 2 Kings 11, 2228 Jan 202600:08:33
Some days it feels like my boundaries are made of wet tissue paper—I know what I should say no to, yet I cave anyway and deal with the fallout later. Thankfully, God gives us the Spirit as a steady inner guide, even when our resolve wobbles and the consequences of giving in become painfully clear. Today’s story reminds us that God’s people have struggled with this too, and that sometimes courage looks like resisting the pressure around us and choosing faithfulness over the easy yes.

Abigail - Prompted By Faith - 1 Samuel 2527 Jan 202600:08:23
Sometimes the smallest things—like a missed snack—can turn an ordinary day into a full‑blown disaster, and any parent who’s navigated toddler life knows exactly what I mean. That very real phenomenon we call 'hanger' doesn’t just show up in modern family outings; it even shows up in Scripture. Today we’re looking at Abigail, a woman whose wisdom (and well‑timed food delivery) diffused a crisis far bigger than a toddler meltdown, reminding us how grounded faith can steady us when emotions run hot.

Deborah and Jael - Prompted By Faith - Judges 426 Jan 202600:07:58
Sometimes we read the Bible and forget that its women weren’t background characters—they were fierce, faithful, and fully present in God’s story. This past year, as I studied Women in the Bible, I was struck by how their steady, everyday faith positioned them for bold action when the moment came. Two such women, Deborah and Jael, stepped into history not as placeholders, but as powerful leaders through whom God delivered Israel, reminding us that courage and calling are never limited by gender.
