You Don't Need A New You, Just Love The Old You - Contemplating Wise Words From Matt Haig As Shared By Dr Julie Smith
12 Jan 2024
00:37:55
In this episode my friend, Libby, and I consider (from varying angles!) an especially wise quote from Matt Haig which reads as follows:
"You don't need a new you. You don't need replacing every year like another iPhone. Don't throw yourself away like another piece of plastic trash. Love the old you. Improve, evolve, do better, but head towards yourself not away. Be gentle with your mind."
It's such a profound quote and led us down many different avenues, before we reached our ultimate goal of today's episode which was discuss, and share with you, our favourite TV series.
Something You REALLY Need To Know About If You Want More Balance In Your Life
08 Dec 2023
00:21:38
I'm so excited to be sharing all about the "divine feminine" with you on the podcast. It is a concept that I've come across fairly recently. And in all honesty, I cannot believe that I've reached my grand age without really coming across it before. It is revelatory in figuring out how to gain more balance in your life.
The point of the podcast has always been to share with you things that I come across by way of new concepts, ideas and beliefs that I think might help to make your life a little bit easier. So I hope that this does too.
One of the ways that I started to understand more about the divine feminine was by reading a book that I'm going to recommend to you called "The Divine Feminine" by Layla moon which you can get HERE.
If you'd like to come and find me on IG you can do so at bethgoodrham and to find out more about what I have to share with you and how I can help, come and visit my website HERE.

How I Nearly Broke Myself Building My Dream Business - And How I Can Help You!
27 Oct 2025
00:22:19
How I Nearly Broke Myself Building My Dream Business — and What It Taught Me About Health, Lifestyle, and Success
💬 Episode Summary
In this episode, I’m taking you behind the scenes of how I built my dream business — and how it nearly broke me. From leaving my career in law and starting a personal styling brand while raising three young children, to discovering “passive income” and experiencing burnout, this is a very honest look at the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, health, and lifestyle.
If you’ve ever dreamed of starting your own business, or you’re a woman in midlife wondering what’s next, I think you’ll really relate to this one. I share what I wish I’d known sooner — how overwork can affect our physical and mental health, how to spot the signs of burnout before it’s too late, and how I rebuilt a more sustainable lifestyle that finally feels good.
I’ll also talk about how my experiences have shaped the work I do today, helping women build businesses that fit around real life — with less stress, more flow, and a lot more self-compassion.
💡 Here’s what I cover:
How I went from law to styling and built a successful business from scratch
The myth of “passive income” and what it really takes to make it work
How burnout and illness forced me to rethink my definition of success
Why self-compassion and rest are essential parts of any healthy lifestyle
How I now help women create businesses that work for them — not the other way around
🤝 Work Together?
These days, I work one-to-one with women who want to grow their business without losing themselves in the process. My business coaching days are relaxed, supportive, and practical — a mix of clarity, strategy, and real-life wisdom for women who want success that supports their health and lifestyle, not drains it.
You’re ready to start (or restart) a business in midlife
You want to protect your health while building something meaningful
You’re craving a calmer, more fulfilling lifestyle that truly works for you

Lessons From My Bed - Fashion & Style
17 Nov 2023
00:34:17
Hello and welcome! This podcast forms part of a mini series of podcasts called "Lessons from my bed."
Several weeks ago I had an abdominal hysterectomy and as a result of that, I have spent a lot of time in my bed. I've learned a lot, not only about life in general, but about myself in terms of surrendering to things and having to be accepting of what is happening.
Although I knew I would get better, my life has been so different. I haven't been able to do any exercise, which forms a large part of who I am and what I do. There's been no cooking, no cleaning, no washing, no ironing, no food shopping, no walking.
My freedom has been massively curtailed. I felt like I'd been cut in half. There were so many things that changed that I had just had to be really accepting of. As a result of that, I've learned lots of things. So I thought what I would do is make them into a series of podcast episodes, in the hope that you might find them helpful to.
In this episode I'm sharing all that I learned about style and fashion - how I created a file of outfit ideas for inspiration to see me through the next few months and the surprising role that clothes played in my recovery. And if it helps to know, there's also talk about the upcoming trends for the season!
I hope that you enjoy it and please feel free to drop me an email at mail@bethgoodrham.com or come and find me on instagram at bethgoodrham 💗

00:32:53
Hello! The purpose of this episode is to offer you help and advice if you're facing a hysterectomy, or to help you to support a friend, or family member, who is. During the episode I share with you how my hysterectomy came about, what my hospital stay looked like and what the recovery time is like afterwards.
I had a lot of messages on Instagram from people saying that they were worried about their upcoming op as they don't know what to expect, or they weren't sure whether to have it done now, or in the future. So I thought I'd share my experience in the hope that it might offer even just a little bit of help or reassurance.
Here’s what I cover in this episode:
Why I decided to have an abdominal hysterectomy, including discovering large fibroids and understanding my options
How the procedure is performed and what to expect in hospital, from anaesthetic to post-op care
Recovery after a hysterectomy, including what helped me manage pain, stay comfortable, and gradually get moving again
Practical tips for making your hospital stay easier, like packing a handy vanity case and staying organised
The emotional side of losing your womb and how I processed it with support from my family
Gentle ways to stay active and maintain wellbeing while recovering from surgery
Reflections on self-care, prioritising rest, and small daily rituals to help you feel more like yourself
This episode is for anyone facing a hysterectomy, managing post-surgical recovery, or simply wanting insight into women’s health, midlife changes, and gentle ways to look after yourself after surgery.
I also share my plans for upcoming episodes about what you can achieve from your bed if you’re recovering from surgery, whether it’s a hip replacement, bunion operation, or hysterectomy. Even when you feel like you’ve “stopped,” there’s so much progress you can make.
I hope my story offers some comfort, practical tips, and reassurance that recovery is possible, and that life post-hysterectomy can feel positive and empowering.
If you have any questions about hysterectomy recovery, self-care, or women’s health, come and find me on Instagram at @bethgoodrham.
If you’re facing a hysterectomy or curious about the process, this episode is for you.
What I cover in this episode:

I also share personal anecdotes about my family support, tips from others who have had hysterectomies, and the little things that helped me feel more like myself during recovery.

Episode 18: Eating For Energy: How The Ketogenic Diet Has Brought Me Incredible Results (Part 1)
11 Aug 2023
00:38:57
In the first episode of this two part podcast, I'm sharing with you what changes I made to my diet, why I made them and the benefits I've noticed.
As a girl who was brought up in the 1970s, everything was low fat. From cheese, to yoghurt and milk, the thought of eating anything other than a low fat version just wasn't done. Fat was the enemy!
Which is why it's so strange to find myself eating a diet which is higher in fat than it ever was before. And why I'm no longer looking to carbs to fill me up.
The changes that I've noticed and the benefits I've felt have been beyond anything I could have imagined.
I've had lots of questions about the changes I've made to my diet so if you're interested to find out more about what's going on tune in!
And in part 2, I'll talk through what I eat on a daily basis together with some recipe ideas so that you can see how it all comes together.
At the start of the episode I referred to my "Sunday Love Letter" sign up link, the in person coaching event I'm holding in November with my friend Mandy Rees and the "Embrace Your Magic" talk that I'm holding on 22nd August.

Episode 17: Who's That Girl? Which Parts Of Your Identity Are You Ready To Let Go?
04 Aug 2023
00:14:02
Recently it struck me how going on holiday is a brilliant opportunity for people to re-invent themselves (especially if they're a teenager!) They're free to shake off the shackles of being known as the nerdy one, or the one who had bad skin, or the one who needed a brace. And it got me thinking....if we all had a clean sheet of paper and could start again from scratch, what parts of our identity would we let go too? Take a listen to find out how this might unfold in the real world.
Episode 16 - Play! Play! Play! It's Important For Adults. And Here's Why!
14 Jul 2023
00:25:00
So here are a couple of questions for you. Do you know what the benefits of play are...even as an adult? And how often do you intentionally engage in it?
My guess is probably not very much. In fact, you may even balk at the idea. Perhaps you think that play is something that only children do.
I used to think the same too. Until I started to receive a very clear message that I needed to play more. And the results have been fascinating to me.
In this episode I share with you the benefits of play, what it might look like for you and how to incoporate it into your life. Let's go and have some fun!

Episode 14: Ever Been On A Retreat? Me Neither. Until Now!
30 Jun 2023
00:28:26
When a last minute opportunity to go on a retreat presented itself, I jumped at the chance. It felt as though the stars aligned, so I threw caution to the wind and went. I had no idea what to expect but it was brilliant. I learned and and experienced new things, moved, challenged myself in so many ways, and meet some incredible people.
As promised, here are the details that I said I would include. Both recommendations are absolutely worth checking out!
The place that we stayed had safari lodges with toasty beds, fabulous showers, a wood-burner and everything else you could imagine needing. The lodges are set in beautiful fields and are surrounded by meadows and flowers. Follow the link below to take a closer look.

Simple, practical ways to make sauna time part of your wellness routine
And why I never go into a sauna without my trusty sauna hat!
As someone who’s spent years as a long-distance runner, I’ve always loved being active — but as I moved through midlife, I realised I needed more balance in my lifestyle.
Running and working out gave me energy, but they also raised my cortisol levels. I wanted something that helped me slow down while still supporting my health and fitness. That’s when I discovered the magic of saunas.
Now, I see sauna sessions as a form of mindfulness as much as a form of movement. I’ve done them everywhere — from wild beach saunas in Wales to moonlit sessions under the stars — and every time, I come out feeling grounded, glowy, and more connected to myself.
My Key Takeaways
Consistency matters: Try 2–4 sessions per week, 10–20 minutes each.
Glow from within: Saunas improve circulation and boost your skin’s ability to hydrate itself.
Sleep better and stress less: The heat calms your nervous system and helps you rest more deeply.
Wellness is better shared: Sauna sessions with friends are joyful, relaxing, and full of laughter.
Protect your hair and comfort: A sauna hat helps you stay cooler, protects your hair, and makes your experience much more enjoyable.
📖 Book Recommendation: The Power of Hot and Cold— a fascinating look at Finnish sauna culture and how it supports women’s wellness across all stages of life.
Episode 13 - The Girls' Guide To Marrackech: Site Seeing, Souks, Shopping & Soulful Chats
09 Mar 2023
00:39:20
Marrakech wasn’t somewhere that was really on my radar to visit, until a client of mine asked me whether I would like to go and stay at the Riad that she had bought and renovated with her husband.
It took a while for the plan to come together but when my friend, Jo, and I finally made it there in February, we were blown away.
Not only was it a hustling, bustling city of sights, sounds, smells and tastes to delight but the people, the architecture and the history were mind blowing.
Thinking Marrakech might be somewhere you would like to visit? Take a listen for sites to visit, how to navigate the souks, the places to shop and the ways we calmed our souls.
Riad El Fenn - Owned by Vanessa Branson. This is where we went for roof top cocktails, dinner and star spotting!
La Maison Arabe - Where we had cocktails and our romantic dinner!

Episode 12 - Ready To Be Inspired By An Incredible Female Entrepreneur? Listen To This.
02 Mar 2023
00:52:49
Katie Lopes is the co-founder of the underwear brand, Stripe & Stare
Back in 2003, Katie and her sister set up a retail business selling international fashion from New York and Australia. They counted Kate Middleton and Sienna Miller amongst their clientele. But there was one product that caught Katies’ eye: a thong imported from the USA. It was that which customers came back for, time and time again.
The rest, you might say, is history. Except it isn’t.
Developing a comfortable knicker which women could wear every day became Katie’s obsession. From the early days of her first sketch for a knicker (which her Mum made into a prototype on her sewing machine) to finding a factory, sourcing fabrics, and seeking non-stop customer feedback, Katie was on a mission to make the most comfortable knickers in the world.
In this episode, Katie shares her passion for supporting single mums in the business world, the people whose work brought her solace in her darkest times (and how they became Stripe & Stare customers), the brand’s culture of owning and celebrating your failure and how “thong-gate” resulted in a screaming match with her business partner (which, because they’re such good friends, was quickly resolved.)
Grab a cup of coffee, pop your trainers on, buckle up in your car, and get ready for this motivational and insightful chat with Katie Lopes, co-founder of Stripe & Stare underwear.
I have a discount code you can use if you would like to introduce some Stripe & Stare products into your life. Just enter BETHG20 at checkout and enjoy!

Ever wondered how some people just “know” what they’re here for? They have such a strong vocation or conviction that they don’t ever question whether they’re in the right job or following the right path.
But what if you’re not sure?
Perhaps you’re thinking about returning to work after having had time away to look after your family. Or maybe you’ve left a role that you worked in for years and are wondering where to go next. Perhaps you’re retired but aren’t sure quite what to do with your spare time. Or maybe you don’t feel that you’ve even properly got started yet with all that you have to offer.
Maybe you’re multi-passionate and have a brain fizzing with ideas. In which case, how do you know which one to choose?
Here I share 6 life-changing moments when my gut instinctively told me what to do next. I also teach you how to tune in to what your body is telling you and where else to look for the “purpose” pieces of this jigsaw puzzle called life.

Episode 9 - Bunions, Wrinkles & Pelvic Floor
06 Feb 2023
00:48:35
You’ve heard of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, well it’s time to meet “Droop”, the middle-aged equivalent!
For the last 90 days, I and two friends have been trying out different approaches to deal with afflictions that are common in middle age.
Libby tested a product to help with bunions (not that she has them!) Mandy put something to help with wrinkles through its paces and I experimented with a device to increase the strength of my pelvic floor.
In this episode we share what they were, how we got on, the results we experienced, AND what we’re going to be working on for our next edition of Droop.

Episode 8 - What To Wear When You Don’t Want To Wear Jeans
30 Jan 2023
00:38:36
In my 14 years as a stylist, one of the questions that I am asked most frequently is “What are some comfortable and stylish alternatives to jeans?”
It’s a question I REALLY enjoy answering because it’s amazing how many options are out there and I LOVE diving into them.
In this episode, I’m looking at 5 key areas. As well as alternatives to jeans, I’m looking at different tops to wear, fabrics to consider, shoe options for around the house, and “the bits around the edges”.
You’re going to come away with new ideas, inspiration, outfit ideas and SO much more to make your day lighter, brighter, and more positive.

Episode 7 - Let’s Talk About Running!
23 Jan 2023
00:56:28
I’ve been “running” off and on since I was a teenager. But it wasn’t until I reached my early 40s that I started long distance running. I ran my first half marathon at the age of 44, my first marathon at the age of 46, followed by a second marathon at 47 and at the age of 50, I ran four more. I think there’s even an ultra marathon in there somewhere!
By popular request, in this episode I share all that I’ve learnt over the years. Whether you’re just getting started (or thinking about getting started), whether you’re a Park Run veteran, or you’re contemplating your first half marathon, or marathon, here I share all you need to know before stepping outside of the front door.

After coming home from a 5 day trip to Iceland, I sat down and thought about all the things I wish I’d known before we went away - what to take, what the food was like, what could we expect from the trips we’d booked, what would the journey be like, how cold would it really be? I share all of this, and more, in this episode.
Iceland was truly a beautiful place and if you’ve ever thought that it might be a place that you’d like to visit, join me as I take you on a journey to Iceland!

00:29:54
Welcome to Episode 5 of “A Friend In Your Ear.”
It’s almost beyond comprehension to think that we are entering another New Year. I still think that we’re in April 2022!
I feel quite excited by the prospect of 2023 - new beginnings and a fresh start are always inspiring. So with that in mind I thought it might be helpful to share with you what worked for me in 2022, what REALLY didn’t work and what I’m looking forward to in 2023.
In this episode, I share more of the “behind the scenes” with what’s going on over here and I hope that you can take something positive and comforting away from it. Beth x

Episode 4 - 4 New Habits I've Adopted & 1 Habit I've Abandoned After MANY Years!
19 Dec 2022

Welcome to Episode 4 of “A Friend In Your Ear.”
In today’s episode I’m sharing with you the 4 habits I’ve taken up and the one (deeply ingrained) habit that I have abandoned. I look at why beating yourself up isn’t a way to achieve a new habit goal, how habit stacking helps as well as motivating factors for adopting a new habit, or parting with an old one.
During the episode, I refer to a couple of resources, which I’ve linked below. Enjoy!

The Menopause And Me: The Introduction To My Book “You Are Not Bonkers.”
21 Nov 2022
00:20:40
Welcome to Episode 3 of “A Friend In Your Ear.”
If you don’t already know, I’ve written a book. It is called “You Are Not Bonkers” and it is a guided journal and symptom tracker to help women who are going through the menopause to figure what the flip is going on and what to do about it.
You Are Not Bonkers is a practical tool to help you to navigate the menopause day by day. Its aim is to get you through the day without feeling utterly rubbish and pointless about yourself, without questioning your every move, without feeling like you want to punch something, or without sobbing uncontrollably over the huge pile of odd socks that have appeared apparently out of nowhere.
In this episode I read you the Introduction to You Are Not Bonkers. I would be SO interested to hear whether you identify with any of what I say!
You Are Not Bonkers is available on Amazon HERE. Anyone who buys the book also gains access to a free Guide which includes details of menopause support organisations, books to read, podcasts to listen to, products to try and top tips from my Instagram community.
I hope that you enjoy this episode. Beth x

Welcome to Episode 2 of “A Friend In Your Ear.”
In the opening of this podcast, I talk about how friends give us the “space to fail”. And so this week, I’m talking about failure and specifically how to re-frame it, along with tools to use when shame, that unwelcome best friend of failure, comes knocking at your door and refuses to leave.
During the episode, I refer to a couple of resources, which I’ve linked below. Enjoy!

Everything Is About To Change (Big Time!)
15 Jul 2024
00:05:24
I am both excited and very nervous about this podcast episode because things are going to be changing around here and I just wanted to share with you what that might look like.
One thing that I've never really shared on the podcast before is my entrepreneurial journey. I've always stood clear of it, But I've reached the stage in my life where I've realized I've actually got so much to share about running a business and in particular running an e commerce business. And I felt that it was something that I wanted to share because there aren't many women my age who are out there talking about it.
Not only that, but there are going to be some big changes in the next few years in our household. For a start, next year, Mr. G is going to be consciously uncoupling from his career as a lawyer. It's something he's been doing for over 30 years now. He's very much in his comfort zone when he's doing it and he's definitely in his zone of genius but he is going to be taking the big step of consciously uncoupling from his legal career.
We are starting a business together and I thought it would be fun to share on the podcast, the process, the people that we encounter, the problems we come across, the positives, and the products that we are going to be creating together.
So, whilst the podcast will very much stay the same in terms of some of the topics that I'm going to be covering, I will also be introducing new topics, such as working alongside your husband. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
I'm going to be talking about running a business, female entrepreneurship, and also, of course, what life looks like as our children get older and leave the nest.
What I really wanted to do was to encourage women to dip their toe in the entrepreneurial waters.
Now that's not going to be for everyone who listens to the podcast at the moment. I totally understand that, but I'm hoping that there will be topics of interest and. humorous tales and anecdotes, along with a huge amount of failures that might just pique your interest enough for you to keep on listening.
The name of the podcast is going to change to the e commerce girls club. I will still be a friend in your ear, I will still be here, and I will still be sharing the trials and tribulations, the highlights and the pitfalls of working for yourself, running a home and encountering this beautiful stage of life that we find ourselves in.
So with that in mind, I would love to invite you to keep on listening to what will become the e commerce girls club podcast, Where hopefully you will continue to dive in so that we can hang out together whilst I share what's going on over here.
Much love, Beth :)

The Benefits Of A Morning Routine: Get Ahead Of Your Day Before It Gets Ahead Of You, With Simple Meditations, Affirmations & Visualisations
08 May 2024
00:29:55
I'd always rolled my eyes at the thought of a morning routine. I mean seriously, who has the time and how does it even help?
And then I came across Hal Elrod, the author of the Miracle Morning Routine. In his podcast interview with Rachel Hollis (linked below) he explained how he had developed the Miracle Morning Routine and how it worked. I was intrigued. So intrigued that I bought the book (also linked below) and a few days later I started my very own Miracle Morning Routine.
Nearly 40 days in now and I LOVE it!
In this episode I share what it looks like in practice, how to tweak it to fit your day and the benefits it has brought to my life. It really has been life changing. I hope that if you're feeling a little unsettled and you're searching for a practice to help, that this might offer some comfort.
Oh and before I forget! Here's the link to the retreat that I'm running at the beginning of October 2024. I've prepared a brochure which answers and explains all that you should need to know in the first instance. And if you have any questions at all, please just email me at mail@bethgoodrham.com and I'll be happy to help answer any questions you may have.

Why Getting Dressed Feels Harder Now — And How to Make It Easy Again
24 Nov 2025
00:28:28
Years ago, when I was styling, I worked with lots of women older than me. There were some things they said that I didn’t fully get at the time: “I feel invisible.” “I only wear jeans, I can’t imagine wearing anything else.” “I’ve lost my confidence.”
Back then, I could sympathize, but I couldn’t truly relate. Fast forward a few years… and now I do. There are days I feel the same way myself, and that’s exactly what I want to talk about today: why getting dressed can feel tricky as we age, and how to make it simple, enjoyable, and confidence-boosting again.
I share five practical style secrets that have helped me — and countless women I’ve worked with — feel put together every day without spending a fortune or exhausting ourselves:
Mindset matters. The right outfit is the one that makes you feel good, not perfect. Even a cozy jumper and jeans can feel empowering if you add a little sparkle or a piece of jewelry that makes you smile.
Dress for your lifestyle. Spend more on everyday essentials that keep you comfortable and happy, rather than splurging only on special events. Think jeans you love, sneakers that feel amazing, or a coat that keeps you warm and dry.
Know what you love. Style is about knowing what makes you happy, not chasing trends. Pull inspiration from anywhere — interiors, nature, magazines — and prioritize fabrics and fits that feel good against your skin.
Create simple systems. Organize your wardrobe so your favorites are visible, rotate pieces regularly, and let go of items that no longer spark joy. Even small changes can make getting dressed effortless.
Find your unique style details. Bow, frill, puff sleeve, gold buttons, a particular color — your personal “signature” can be subtle, but it makes you feel intentional and put together every day.
If you’ve ever felt like your wardrobe is overwhelming or uninspiring, this episode is for you. These small shifts — in mindset, systems, and knowing what you love — can make getting dressed feel joyful again.
You deserve to feel seen, confident, and comfortable in your clothes every single day.
Weight Lifting vs Life at a Gentler Pace: Finding the Harmony Your Midlife Body Needs
17 Nov 2025
00:15:04
Have you ever felt torn between enjoying a peaceful yoga session, a mindful walk, or time in the garden — and feeling like you should be in the gym, lifting weights and tracking protein? This is one of the biggest tensions for women in midlife.
In this episode, I explore the midlife paradox: the pull to slow down, rest, and embrace mindfulness versus the push to stay strong, build muscle, and prioritize your health through weight training for women. How do we honor both needs without feeling like we have to choose one over the other?
We’ll dive into why this tension exists, practical ways to integrate mindful movement with weight training for women, and tips for creating a lifestyle that supports both calm and strength. You’ll discover how slowing down doesn’t mean giving up, and building strength doesn’t mean losing your softness — both can coexist beautifully.
While this episode is designed for you, it’s also something I’m navigating myself. Over the years, I’ve learned that mindful rest and intentional strength training aren’t opposites; together, they create resilience, vitality, and balance.
By the end, you’ll feel empowered to embrace both sides of the paradox — cultivating mindfulness while protecting your body and health through weight training for women. It’s about creating a midlife rhythm that works for your energy, your body, and your lifestyle.
The Relaxed Christmas - How To Make Life Easy, Enjoy Yourself & Be The Christmas Version Of You That You Always Wanted To Be!
15 Dec 2025
00:30:12
A Relaxed, Real-Life Christmas 🎄
Do you know that picture-perfect Christmas with matching pyjamas, handmade everything, and total calm? Yes… me neither.
In this episode, I share a relaxed, realistic approach to Christmas — one that still feels magical, but without the pressure, perfectionism, or panic on Christmas Eve.
Inspired by the idea of The Relaxed Woman, I talk about why so many of us feel overwhelmed at Christmas and how we can do things differently this year.
I share six simple pillars for a calmer Christmas, including:
Identifying your Christmas non-negotiables
Knowing what always trips you up (and getting ahead of it)
Why it’s okay to please yourself
Letting go of comparison
Going easy on yourself (shop-bought is fine)
Automating, delegating, eliminating — and faking it till you make it
This episode also holds space for anyone who finds Christmas emotional or complicated.
If you enjoyed this episode, please share it, follow the podcast, or come and follow me on Instagram at Beth Goodrham. Your support really means the world.
Wishing you a calm, kind, and gently magical Christmas 🎄✨
How To Finish the Year Strong: Return to the Habits That Make You Feel Like You
08 Dec 2025
00:14:49
In this episode, I help you ditch the “I’ll start again in January” mindset and show you how to step into the new year already feeling strong, grounded and proud of yourself — not frazzled or starting from scratch.
If you started the year journaling, meditating, doing yoga, taking your supplements, going to bed early… and then somewhere along the way life happened, this episode is your gentle reminder that you can always begin again. And you don’t have to wait for January to do it.
You’ll learn:
🌿 Why you started your habits in the first place — and how to reconnect with that feeling
🧘♀️ How to reintroduce habits without overwhelm (no more “I’ll do everything perfectly starting Monday”)
🔁 Why we stop doing the very things that made us feel good
⏳ How to build momentum before the new year instead of limping across the finish line
💛 How to make your habits feel like tiny acts of love, not punishment
🌠 A powerful visualization for the version of you on December 31st — and how to become her now
This episode is a practical, comforting, honest reset for anyone who wants to finish the year with intention, ease and confidence. No pressure. No perfection. Just gentle recommitment to yourself.
If it resonates, I’d love to hear — come say hello on Instagram at @bethgoodrham. And if you know a friend who needs this reminder, please share the episode with them. It would mean the world to me!
10 Quiet Beliefs That Were Shaping My Life (Without Me Noticing) - How To Question The Ones Shaping Yours
05 Jan 2026
00:29:15
🎧 Short Description: In this episode I explore 10 common beliefs about success, worth, and happiness that we often accept without questioning—and how pausing to notice them can help you feel more content, confident, and present today.
📖 Full Show Notes (SEO Optimized): Have you ever noticed how much of life we live on autopilot, believing things without ever questioning them? I had one of those moments recently while scrolling through my camera roll: the photos that made me smile weren’t achievements, awards, or milestones—they were ordinary, messy, human moments with friends, family, and nature. It made me realise that the life I thought I was striving for was already here.
In this episode, I reflect on 10 common beliefs that quietly shape our lives—from “striving equals worth” and “contentment comes after achievement” to “external validation matters” and “I’ll enjoy life later.” I share how these beliefs can limit us and how asking simple questions like “Does this truly serve me?” can shift perspective and create more joy in everyday life.
I also explore practical ways to reclaim presence, trust yourself, and celebrate what’s already here. We talk about learning from younger generations, embracing ease instead of struggle, wanting less without losing ambition, and appreciating your body as a source of experience, not a problem to fix. This episode is an invitation to pause, reflect, and notice the joy that’s available in ordinary moments.
💡 Key Takeaways:
Striving doesn’t equal worth.
Contentment lives in the present, not the next milestone.
Internal validation is more reliable than external praise.
Your body is a gateway to experience, not a project to fix.
Choosing “enough” can be freeing without being unambitious.
✨ Why Listen: If you’ve ever felt pressured to strive, chase validation, or wait for “later” to enjoy life, this episode offers gentle, actionable insights to pause, question old beliefs, and rediscover the joy and presence that’s already around you.
You Don’t Need a New Diet — You Need Personalised Data : How a glucose monitor reveals what works for your blood sugar, mood & energy
29 Dec 2025
00:28:47
In this episode, I’m diving into one of the most fascinating health tools I’ve ever used: a continuous glucose monitor (CGM). After following a low-sugar, low-carb lifestyle for 2.5 years, I wanted to know exactly what was happening inside my body — and the results were eye-opening.
I’m sharing:
Why I wore a CGM for 14 days
Why blood sugar stability matters
The real difference between calories and glucose spikes
The surprising food experiments I ran (cream slices, brownies, nuts & Prosecco!)
What I learned in Week 1 vs Week 2
My official results
And how you can use this data to support your own energy, hormones, mood & metabolism — no keto required
If you want to go deeper, I’ve linked to my full blog post with all the graphs, plus my 7-day low-sugar, low-carb meal plan to help you get started easily.
