In Episode 156 of the Best Coach Ever podcast, we’re keeping it realer than real about showing up in your business when life is straight-up lifing. Whether you're grieving, burnt out, spiraling, or just surviving a season that’s got you clinging to your last nerve, this episode is your lifeline. Because guess what? You don’t have to pretend everything’s fine—or run yourself into the ground—to keep things moving.

4) Treading Water: The Low-Effort Consistency Plan [13:03 - 20:05]

- Using old content, templates, and “emergency posts” to stay visible.

- How to keep your business moving when creativity is drained.

5) Protecting Your Mental Health While Staying Present [20:06 - 26:30]

- Avoiding the shame spiral by staying off the comparison scroll.

- Real self-care strategies that don’t include punishing yourself for being human.

6) What “Good Enough” Can Look Like in Business [26:31 - End]

-Why consistency doesn’t mean perfection.

-A reminder that slowing down doesn’t mean you’re failing.

How I Organize My Week, Manage My Time, and Actually Get Stuff Done in My Business27 May 202500:41:30

In Episode 155 of the Best Coach Ever podcast, we’re getting into the not-so-sexy—but absolutely essential—topic of time management. If you’ve ever looked at your to-do list and thought, “LOL, yeah right,” this one’s for you. After an accidental month-long podcast break (yes, even time management queens fall off sometimes), we’re back with the behind-the-scenes of how to keep your business running like a well-oiled machine—even when life is chaos.

We’re walking through the exact system that keeps launches prepped, client results hot, and burnout far, far away. Think themed workdays, Thursday brain dumps, and Google Calendar realness. Because contrary to what your inner rebel might think, structure doesn’t kill your creativity—it sets it free. We’re done glorifying hustle culture and winging it until we crash. This episode is all about planning like a CEO so you can actually enjoy your weekends (imagine that).

So if you’re tired of playing calendar Jenga, dropping balls, or wondering how the heck other coaches “do it all,” grab your coffee, open that calendar, and let’s get your time (and life) back under control. Let’s make structure sexy again.

In this episode, we cover:

1) Why This Episode Took a Month to Record [0:00 - 4:35]

- How skipping the podcast was actually a result of great time management.

- The difference between prioritizing client service vs. “nice-to-haves” in business.

2) Time Management Isn’t a Personality Trait—It’s a Skill [4:36 - 9:48]

- Why structure matters (even for the type B, messy-desk girlies).

- How being consistent builds a reputation and keeps your business running smoothly.

3) Setting Work Days and Off Days (and Sticking to Them) [9:49 - 14:22]

- The exact work week schedule that’s helped me avoid burnout for 10 years.

- Why having true time off creates urgency, productivity, and mental freedom.

4) Thursday Brain Dumps & Weekly Planning Routine [14:23 - 20:05]

- How brain dumping and reverse engineering your goals prevents overwhelm.

- Plugging repeat and project-specific tasks into your calendar like a CEO.

5) Why Google Calendar > Paper Planners [20:06 - 26:30]

- The secret to tracking shifting deadlines without dropping the ball.

- Real-life examples of how to reschedule tasks without guilt or chaos.

6) When the Calendar Fails & What to Do About It [26:31 - 31:42]

- How to bounce back when things take longer than expected or get pushed.

- Identifying non-negotiables vs. “nice if they happen” tasks.

7) Tips for Actually Following Your Schedule [31:43 - 39:07]

- The “grow up with love” pep talk for when you don’t feel like it.

- Creating discipline by building systems that support how your brain works.

8) The Power of Low-Dopamine Mornings & Themed Workdays [39:08 - End]

- How your morning routine and screen time sabotage your productivity.

- Why batching similar tasks together by day helps you stay in flow and avoid burnout.

Business Boundaries for Peaceful, Successful Coaches06 Sep 202200:42:00

Setting boundaries as a business owner isn’t just a good idea – it’s ESSENTIAL. Unfortunately, that’s a lesson I had to learn the hard way.

Not only did failing to set boundaries early in my coaching business steal my energy and reduce my ability to fully show up for my clients, but it also kept me from enjoying my personal life and resulted in serious burnout. 10/10 would *NOT* recommend.

However, I learned a lot from my mistakes – and so can you. Today, I’m sharing the 6 boundaries that I recommend coaches and service providers set and abide by ASAP.

Listen to this episode to learn why I’m a big believer in set working hours (nope, they aren’t just for the 9-5-ers!), the many reasons you shouldn’t give your clients your personal cell phone number, how you can ensure your clients get the best possible care WITHOUT you having to be constantly available, and so much more.

In this episode, I cover:

My definition of boundaries, why I used to think they were rude, and how I came to realize they are NOT bad and are actually *very* important [3:30]

Lesson 1: Coaches need set working hours, full days off and weekends (even if your weekend isn’t the traditional Saturday and Sunday) [8:55]

Lesson 2: Your clients don’t need your personal cell phone number [16:00]

Lesson 3: Turn off the notifications on your phone now – seriously, NOW! [17:20]

Lesson 4: Set and clearly communicate your boundaries and expectations with your clients at the beginning of your working relationship [23:50]

Lesson 5: Establish and enforce strong financial boundaries with your clients [29:15]

Lesson 6: Set the mental and emotional boundaries that will allow you to unplug from work and release responsibilities that are not yours to take on [34:10]

Overcoming Discouragement in Business30 Aug 202200:32:35

I know from personal experience that discouragement is one of the biggest challenges business owners face. It’s also very dangerous because, if we aren’t careful, our discouragement can fester, grow and, ultimately, harm or even RUIN our businesses.

That’s because we often stop taking action when we feel discouraged. Not only will prolonged inaction kill our progress, but it also makes us feel more and more hopeless – and once hope is gone, it’s just too easy to quit altogether. It’s a slippery slope.

But there’s good news: You CAN overcome this all-too-common feeling, and today I’m showing you how. You’ll walk away from this episode with a better understanding of how discouragement can impact you and your actions, and you’ll learn easy-to-implement strategies for navigating discouraging situations and experiences.

Along with helping you feel more prepared to combat discouragement the next time it pops up, I hope this episode gives you the boost of encouragement you need if you’re going through a tough time. Keep showing up, and remember – as long as you don’t quit, your success is inevitable. You’ve got this!

In this episode, I cover:

Why I believe discouragement is one the most dangerous things business owners encounter [4:00]

How discouragement leads to self-sabotage, all-or-nothing thinking and other behaviors that keep us from getting what we want [7:40]

The ways I’ve seen my clients’ discouragement lead to catastrophizing [9:55]

Making everything our fault when we feel discouraged [11:55]

The habit of avoidance and how it relates to feelings of discouragement [13:25]

Why your response to discouragement can make or break your business [14:30]

The importance of not numbing out and actually feeling and facing your feelings – including discouragement [18:50]

The power of asking yourself what *IS* and what is *NOT* objectively true [20:30]

What can happen when you challenge your negative beliefs and turn your focus to empowerment [22:15]

“Trying on” positive thoughts rather than forcing positivity and optimism [24:20]

Doing the work – even if it doesn’t feel easy or rewarding in the moment [26:00]

The reality that whatever you’re discouraged about likely does NOT have the power to end your business or prevent you from succeeding [28:35]

Are You Showing Up As An Influencer or A Business Owner?23 Aug 202200:21:37

There’s a big difference between business owners and influencers, and as a result, the two MUST present themselves online in very different ways. However, many online fitness coaches get stuck in the influencer trap (trying to grow a massive social media audience, creating content that they think will appeal to the masses, etc.)...

And then they wonder why their programs aren’t selling.

Today, I’m sharing exactly what you need to know if you’re a coach who wants to use social media to grow or scale your business. You’ll learn why your follower count isn’t all that important, what it REALLY takes to sell your programs and services, and why accepting brand deals may not be the best idea. I’m also sharing a peek into how I used to run my social media vs. how I operate it today – and why my current approach makes me significantly more money.

In this episode, I cover:

Why online fitness coaches do NOT have to concern themselves with growing a huge social media following (more followers doesn’t necessarily mean more clients!) [3:10]

The pressure that comes when trying to create content that pleases EVERYONE [6:45]

How to approach social media if you want to scale an online coaching business vs. how to approach social media if you want to appeal to the masses as an influencer [8:10]

Positioning yourself as a leader, expert or authority figure in your field vs. trying to be a “friend” to your followers [11:30]

The importance of promoting YOUR offers rather than using your platform to advertise for other brands (yes, even if you’re getting paid) [14:15]

The truth: Influencers’ goals are NOT the same as business owners’ goals, so the two cannot show up online the same way [15:25]

How to establish yourself as a coach with strategies, solutions and expertise [17:05]

Why you need to focus less on increasing your follower count and more on attracting the RIGHT followers (aka: ideal clients) [19:45]

What I Wish I Knew When I Started My Business16 Aug 202200:50:52

After a brief hiatus, The Best Coach Ever Podcast is BACK – and it’s better than ever!

I’m kicking off my return by sharing my honest, candid thoughts about the things I *wish* I knew when I launched my online fitness coaching business in June of 2015.

What I’m discussing today isn’t unique to me. I see other coaches (especially newbies) making the same mistakes I did, and that’s why I wanted to record this episode.

Whether you’re just starting out, aspire to be an online coach or have been coaching for a while, you’ll definitely want to give this a listen. You’ll still make mistakes (that’s just part of it!), but this is a valuable opportunity to get advice from someone with the gift of hindsight who’s been there, done that and now has a 7-figure online coaching business.

In this episode, I cover:

My history as an online business owner [3:35]

Lesson 1: You don’t need to be an influencer to make money online (and there’s a BIG difference between influencers and business owners!) [9:25]

Lesson 2: Don’t underchange for your coaching services, and don’t be afraid to raise your rates – especially if you want to be the best coach you can be [16:35]

Lesson 3: There’s no badge of honor for not having boundaries and letting your clients walk all over you (hint: NONE of your clients need 24/7 access to you) [31:20]

Lesson 4: Learn to love sales – and how to successfully make sales – sooner rather than later [36:40]

Lesson 5: Hiring a business coach is one of the best things you can do to help ensure your long-term success [41:35]

Creating An Abundant Money Mindset05 Jul 202200:44:57

In honor of my 50th podcast episode (!!!), I'm covering something super important: Money mindset.

It’s a topic that, in my experience, women tend to struggle with – they often feel guilty for wanting to make lots of money or think they’re not “good enough” to charge fair, reasonable rates for their services. Money can also bring up issues of worthiness and make us question the beliefs our parents handed down, which isn’t always the most pleasant or comfortable thing… and that means many people avoid the topic entirely.

But here’s the deal: We can’t improve what we ignore. So, in this episode, I’m diving in and sharing my honest, candid opinion on why money is NOT inherently bad, why you’re not wrong for wanting to build wealth and how changing your money mindset can change your entire life.

If you’re looking for a “woo-woo” approach to creating an abundant money mindset, this probably isn’t the episode for you (sorry!). However, if you want to hear practical, down-to-earth thoughts on money, wealth and shifting your money mindset from scarcity to abundance, you’re *absolutely* in the right place!

In this episode, I cover:

The different ways I’ve seen men and women approach their money mindsets [3:25]

How certain upbringings and belief systems can impact thoughts, feelings and opinions about money [4:10]

Why I believe in guiding your mindset in a positive, optimistic, healthy direction [6:55]

Taking a practical approach to improving your money mindset [9:05]

The ways my parents and upbringing shaped the way I viewed money and wealth when I was younger [10:15]

How I know the amount of money we make isn’t tied to how “good” or moral we are as people or how much we “deserve” wealth [18:30]

Feeling “worthy” of financial abundance and how to determine if you struggle with worthiness issues [20:00]

The idea of “taking” money from people who are paying for your services [21:50]

Believing that money is scarce vs. believing that there’s plenty to go around and trusting that you can always make more money [22:50]

Hoarding = scarcity mindset; investing = abundance mindset [25:55]

Challenging the belief that making money has to be hard [30:20]

How shifting to a more positive, abundant money mindset changes the way you move through life [34:35]

What to do if you feel triggered by this episode [35:30]

The truth about money being “the root of all evil” (hint: it doesn’t mean what you probably think it means) [36:15]

Imagining what we want for our children, nieces, nephews, etc. when it comes to money and wealth and how we can apply that to what God wants for us [38:45]

The importance of questioning our beliefs – especially if they aren’t serving us [40:45]

Why money is not good or bad; instead, it’s an amplifier [42:15]

How to Overcome the Fear of Starting28 Jun 202200:43:53

Whether you’re starting from scratch or working to ascend to the next level in your business, embarking on something new can elicit feelings of fear and anxiety that seem IMPOSSIBLE to overcome – I know from experience.

But you CAN feel the fear and do it anyway (again, I know from experience!), and that’s what I’m discussing in today’s episode. You’ll find out why you don’t need to worry so much about other people’s opinions, what’s actually *much* scarier than investing in yourself and your business, and why your obsession with achieving perfection is doing WAY more harm than good.

This kick-in-the-pants episode is for you if you’re willing to accept that even though your fears probably aren’t going anywhere, they do NOT have to hold you back – and I hope they don’t.

In this episode, I cover:

Why fear is normal and not necessarily a “bad” emotion, and how I experienced fear when I was starting my business [4:00]

The ways I see fear holding people back from chasing their dreams [7:40]

What comfort zones REALLY are and the lies they tell [9:10]

Why we can’t view fear as a sign not to take action (hint: if you wait until you’re no longer scared, you’ll probably be waiting forever) [11:00]

Fearing the opinions/judgments of other people – and why this isn’t nearly as big of a deal as you think it is [12:25]

The truth about someone else’s negative opinion of you [18:00]

How my fear of what others might think held me back from pivoting from fitness coaching to full-time business coaching [20:10]

Why I’m so passionate about helping women overcome their fears and living their best lives [21:40]

Facing fears around investing in yourself/your business and/or losing money [23:45]

What I consider the first test of entrepreneurship [31:25]

The answer to the overwhelm you may feel if you’re a newbie business owner [33:20]

Reality check: Things don’t have to be perfect to be good (and neither do you!) [35:00]

The importance of managing your expectations and celebrating ALL of your wins along the way [38:00]

Playing the “what if” game and envisioning both the negative AND the positive things that could arise [39:20]

How Much I’ve Invested in My Coaching Biz21 Jun 202200:49:20

If you’ve ever wondered *exactly* how much money I’ve invested in working with business coaches over the years, you’ll DEFINITELY want to listen to this episode!

I’ve already discussed many of the biz investments I make each month – paying my team members and other people who support my business, different platforms I use, etc. – but I’ve NEVER publicly discussed my business coaching investments in such a candid way… until now.

Today I’m sharing why I began working with my first business coach, the results I saw, how it changed my life… and, yes, the money I paid her. I’m also diving into what I learned from a not-so-great biz coaching experience and discussing why I’ve been with my current biz coach for 3 years now – even though the investment STILL feels scary!

In this episode, I cover:

The journey that led me to hire my first business coach [3:40]

Following the woman I would eventually hire to help me save my business – and the mental gymnastics I went through for months to justify NOT hiring her [8:40]

How my husband reacted when I told him about the business coaching program I was interested in and why we decided to make the investment [15:00]

The ways my business (and life) changed after hiring my first biz coach and implementing her strategies and advice [18:15]

Joining another business coach’s mastermind, why it didn’t work for me and the important lessons that experience taught me [20:25]

The business coaching program that helped me create my group fitness coaching program and what I realized about investing in my biz (hint: it was SO worth it) [24:00]

What happened when I took a break from working with business coaches [26:40]

Deciding to begin working with the woman who is still my business coach today – even though the investment was WAY out of my comfort zone [28:45]

The reality that many of today’s online coaches will not stand the test of time [17:15]

Why NOW is the best time for you to get started as an online coach [19:45]

Why it’s not as hard as you think to make lots of money online – even without a massive social media presence or loads of clients [21:00]

How implementing the right content strategy and understanding how to draw and connect with your ideal clients changes your earning potential in a BIG way [24:55]

What to Do When It Feels Like Nothing Is Working31 May 202200:30:45

No matter where you are in your business journey, chances are you’ve felt like nothing is working for you at some point – maybe you’re there right now, or maybe you’re feeling as if things that worked for you before are no longer panning out. I’ve been there, too, and I know how hard it is.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing everything you can to succeed and things just aren’t going your way, this episode is for you. I’m sharing questions to ask yourself to identify what’s *actually* going wrong as well as mindset shifts you NEED to make if you want to avoid throwing in the towel. You’ll also get some tough love and a pep talk that I hope encourages you to KEEP GOING!

Whatever your situation is, know that you CAN figure it out – and I’m rooting for you.

In this episode, I cover:

My experiences with tough/uncertain times and dry spells as a business owner and how they’ve made me feel [3:20]

Why it’s NORMAL to have low points in business and to struggle [8:10]

TIP 1: Ask yourself if things are ACTUALLY not working – or are you making up a story? [9:25]

TIP 2: Take a step back and identify what’s not working rather than assuming absolutely *everything* is falling apart [11:30]

TIP 3: Answer this question: Would the work you’ve been avoiding likely solve your problem (or at least some of it)? [14:05]

TIP 4: Remember that tough and/or slow times in business are inevitable – even if you have support [19:40]

TIP 5: Everything in business is figureoutable (shoutout to Marie Forleo for the phrase “everything is figureoutable”) [23:30]

Content creation today vs content creation in ~2015-2017 [6:00]

Proof that low engagement doesn’t necessarily mean people aren’t consuming and enjoying your content or that they don’t want to work with you [11:50]

Remembering our *actual* goal when it comes to content creation (hint: it’s NOT likes, saves and comments!) [13:40]

The real reason we want to increase engagement with our content [14:45]

The truth that coaches often forget: NO ONE can/should be available 24/7 [25:50]

Setting time boundaries around social media [30:15]

Mentally and emotionally disconnecting from work [33:30]

Not taking on the emotional responsibility of clients’ results, actions and choices – and not allowing clients to blame you for things that are NOT your fault [35:00]

Releasing guilt for having and upholding boundaries [44:00]

Why I work so hard to teach my clients the necessity of strong, airtight boundaries (hint: it’s because I want the best for them and their businesses!) [48:45]

The 411 on Cold DMing on Social Media… Does It Actually Work?10 May 202200:32:55

You probably already know what cold calling is – the process of calling someone (unsolicited) and trying to make a quick sale without forming a connection – and that’s essentially what cold direct messaging is, too.

If the idea of this kind of sales approach makes you cringe, you’re in the right place because…

I do NOT like or support cold DMing, and in this episode, I’m going into detail about why that is. You’ll also learn more about my relationship-based approach to sales, why it feels good to me and why it’s so effective in the long run.

You’ll definitely want to give this episode a listen if you’re a coach or service provider who struggles to reach out to prospective clients – it CAN be done in a respectful, non-sleazy way, and I’m going to show you how!

In this episode, I cover:

What “cold direct messaging” is and why it works… sometimes [4:00]

Why cold DMing often comes across as disingenuous and insincere [7:10]

The low success rate of cold DMing and how that can impact your mental state [8:35]

The danger of ending up with people who aren’t a good fit for your programs and services when you primarily sell through cold DMs [10:15]

Why I require sales calls for my programs that are above a particular price point [11:30]

What someone who believes in selling through cold DMs might say to criticize my sales methods – and my rebuttal [12:15]

Using direct messaging to connect with prospective clients and build authentic, meaningful relationships through genuine conversations [15:00]

How the ease and success of my recent Wellness CEO Mastermind launch demonstrates the effectiveness of my sales practices [16:20]

Why it doesn’t have to feel weird when you reach out to someone you don’t know via DM – assuming you want to get to know them and aren’t just trying to make a quick sale [19:00]

Examples of why selling truly is a service when done with integrity [20:50]

Challenging your fears and insecurities about selling via directly communicating with potential clients – what’s *really* holding you back? [23:35]

Attraction marketing and why it can be a good alternative to reaching out to prospective clients [24:50]

Why I believe in combining prospecting with attraction marketing to achieve the best results in your business [26:40]

An important question to ask before joining a business coaching program [28:30]

Why Your Leads Are Saying No to Your Prices03 May 202200:30:51

First things first: If you’re struggling to convert leads to clients, it’s probably NOT because your prices are too high (even if that’s an objection you’ve heard frequently).

Instead, it’s likely because you haven’t nailed the 3 things I’m discussing in this episode.

Tune in to hear why lowering your rates isn’t necessarily the answer to getting more people to work with you, and find out what I recommend doing to help reduce sticker shock on sales calls – including things you can do with your social media content!

In this episode, I cover:

My journey to charging appropriately for my online fitness coaching services and the struggles I went through with price objections from leads [2:30]

Why fear may keep your leads from working with you and how to address and overcome their fear – even BEFORE you’re on a sales call [10:55]

Perceived value and how to *effectively* communicate the TRUE value of your programs and services [15:15]

How your positioning in the online space may be creating a sticker shock situation when your leads learn your prices [24:00]

Taking strategic steps to change the way your brand is perceived [26:35]

Sticking to a price that reflects the worth of your coaching (hint: reducing your rates will probably NOT solve your lead conversion issues!) [28:05]

The Mindset Shift That Will Get You to Your Goals26 Apr 202200:25:47

When I made the major mindset shift I’m discussing in this episode, my entire business (and life) changed – for the better.

If you’re like most people, you know what you *should* do to get the results you want… you have the strategy, you have access to the tools and resources you need, you’re consuming all the right content and following all the right people… but something VERY important is holding you back: Your mindset.

Maybe you’re convinced your business won’t work out for you and you’re constantly looking for evidence to back that up, or you’re regularly assuming the worst when something doesn’t go your way – if that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

Your mindset matters more than you realize… and if you’re stuck in a negative headspace, it’s time to get OUT and start moving toward the success you deserve!

In this episode, I cover:

How your mindset impacts your results and why my coaching programs have included mindset work for YEARS [2:15]

The importance of shifting our mindsets from “IS this going to work out for me?” to “HOW will this work out for me?” [8:45]

Why “if” questions are so detrimental… and why “how” questions are opportunities to grow, explore and succeed [10:35]

The power in believing and deciding that if there’s something you want, it’s meant to be yours [11:15]

How your mindset influences your creativity and problem-solving abilities [12:30]

The ways negative thoughts have slowed me down in the past and what I choose to focus on now [14:10]

A personal example of how my mindset directly impacts your energy and output [16:00]

Why mindset is absolutely not a “woo woo” concept and can truly determine your success or your failure [18:32]

Accepting that there will be hard times and obstacles to overcome on the way to achieving our goals [20:10]

How much easier the work becomes when we decide our success is inevitable [23:06]

You may *think* your perfectionism is serving you well, but… what if I told you it’s actually holding you back from reaching your personal and professional goals AND it’s stealing joy and happiness from your life?

From one perfectionist to another (I tend to attract a lot of you!): Letting go of our perfectionism is ESSENTIAL if we want to make our dreams come true, and even though it’s not easy to let go of our fixations and perfectionist tendencies, it’s SO worth it – I know from experience.

If this sounds like something you could use some help with, you’re in the right place!

Today I’m sharing how perfectionism can show up in our lives and the impact it often has (hint: for most of us, it’s not a very positive impact), and I’m offering solutions for overcoming your perfectionism that have been game-changers for my clients and me.

In this episode, I cover:

Questions to ask yourself to help determine if you’re a perfectionist [2:50]

How perfectionism stands in the way of progress and slows you down [5:25]

The ways perfectionism makes you miserable [15:05]

Becoming more aware of the places perfectionism shows up in your life [18:45]

The importance of setting small, easily attainable goals for yourself [19:50]

Being willing to be OK with B-minus work, effort and results [23:10]

Giving yourself credit for every win and celebrating those wins – no matter how small they may seem [26:10]

For all of you who don’t follow me, here’s the deal: My husband and I have purchased a new home that we absolutely love in a new city about 45 minutes away from where we currently live, and we are THRILLED! (PS: If you like the podcast and don’t follow me on Instagram, you’re missing out on tons of awesome content… just saying!)

Today I’m sharing why we took the leap to sell our home and buy a new one, as well as how the mindset work I’ve done in the past helped me get *exactly* what I wanted. Even if you’re not interested in buying a home right now, this episode has some nuggets for you – I promise! – and I hope you’ll walk away feeling inspired to go after your own big dreams.

In this episode, I cover:

How mulling things over and debating pros and cons can enable you to make excuses when you should be moving forward [28:15]

Evidence that taking quick action works in business, too [29:50]

How to Nail Your Sales Calls01 Feb 202200:38:50

No matter what you call them – sales calls, discovery calls, clarity calls, etc. – these opportunities to connect with potential clients one-on-one are incredibly valuable and important. Not only are you ensuring they’re a good fit for your coaching program and that the two of you would work well together, but you’re also showing them what makes your offer worth investing in – and ideally, these calls result in new clients.

Today I’m teaching you what to say and do on sales calls to boost your success rate (without using manipulation or implementing sleazy sales tactics – we don’t do that here). Instead, you’ll learn how to respectfully and ethically help potential clients overcome their fears and objections, and you’ll get my top six tips for nailing your sales calls every single time.

In this episode, I cover:

Prequalifying your leads before getting on a sales call [5:12]

How you can use your social media content to help prequalify your leads [10:05]

Establishing authority and purpose on your sales calls at the beginning of the conversation [12:25]

Having a proven sales script and making it your own, especially when you’re just starting out (aka: not winging it) [15:45]

Listening and asking questions more than you talk during sales calls [20:40]

The importance of overcoming sales objections [24:10]

What 99% of sales objections are actually about [26:20]

The difference between a fear-based “no” and a valid “no” [29:00]

Following up with leads after sales calls (more than once) and staying connected to leads even if they aren’t ready to invest at the time [31:20]

How to Sell Without Being “Sales-y”25 Jan 202200:50:08

When someone says they don’t want to sound “sales-y,” what they’re *really* saying is they want to sell in a way that adds value to others and isn’t off-putting, annoying or uncomfortable. Good news: That is 100% possible, and it’s much easier (not to mention more fun!) than you think it is.

Today I’m sharing how to get your mindset right when it comes to sales as well as how to sell online without ever coming across as “sales-y.” I’m also explaining why I fully believe sales = service… If that sounds crazy to you, you’re definitely in the right place!

In this episode, you’ll get my best advice for overcoming the limiting beliefs and fears that hold you back from selling your products and services, and you’ll walk away with strategies you can implement right away to help you sell more effectively, authentically and confidently – WITHOUT being pushy.

In this episode, I cover:

My former relationship with sales/selling (spoiler: it wasn’t very positive) [7:20]

What “sales-y” means to most of us – and why some people actually LOVE aggressive selling [8:30]

Sales strategies I tried (before I knew better) that don’t work [12:05]

How your fear of selling and pitching stems from your belief that people don’t actually like you and/or your products/services [14:30]

The mindset shifts you must make to grow and improve your sales skills [17:40]

The importance of believing that your offer is awesome [18:18]

Believing and trusting that other people will see the value in your offer [22:52]

Why repeatedly discussing/pitching your programs and services is beneficial to people who need and want your help [27:50]

The reason I *don’t* think losing social media followers is always a bad thing [34:00]

My challenge to you when it comes to sales and selling [37:35]

Why I believe selling can be a beautiful act of service [39:20]

How sharing client case studies can help you boost sales [41:00]

Using day-in-the-life content to increase sales by showing how you serve and support your clients [43:10]

Showcasing your own story as a sales tool [45:20]

Handling Haters & Hypercritical People on the Internet18 Jan 202200:45:42

If the fear of other people “hating” on you holds you back from posting on social media and growing your online presence as a current or aspiring coach or influencer, this episode is for you.

It’s important to note that when I say “haters,” I’m not talking about people offering genuine constructive criticism – that’s different. Instead, I’m talking about the people who are determined to pick you and your content apart no matter what you do. It’s the people who you’re probably NEVER going to please. Sometimes, they’re the loudest voices in your comment section and DMs… and they can make you feel pretty horrible (I know from experience).

Today I’m sharing reasons people may be hypercritical as well as how I handle not-so-supportive people, both on the internet and in real life, with the goal of helping you overcome your fears, grow your confidence and post whatever you want online – because haters gonna hate.

In this episode, I cover:

When I started working to grow my online presence (and a mention of my VERY old fashion blog that still lives on the internet) [4:10]

Feeling hurt by other people’s harsh opinions but not letting that hold me back [6:00]

Why “if you want to be loved, get comfortable with being loathed” is 100% accurate [7:40]

The inevitability of someone not liking you – no matter what you do or don’t do online [10:05]

People lashing out when they just don’t vibe with you for whatever reason [14:30]

Your success or good fortunate “triggering” someone [16:35]

How a difference in values can bring someone’s inner hater out [19:15]

A criticism I often received as a fitness coach and why I stopped taking it personally [21:00]

The unfortunate truth: Some people think they need to knock someone else down to feel good [25:35]

Examples of respectful critical feedback that I’ve appreciated [30:00]

How someone’s jealousy of a person they see online can manifest in hateful, rude comments [31:00]

An example of a hater trying to take away from my success and how it made me feel [33:35]

Why I’m able to more easily let go of people’s mean comments these days [34:40]

How happy, content, fulfilled people behave (hint: they’re not the ones coming for you online) [36:20]

The reasons I’ve come to believe that most mean comments have very little to do with me at all [38:35]

A pep talk for feeling the fear and doing it anyway when it comes to posting online and receiving hateful or overly critical comments/DMs [40:10]

5 Reasons Your Coaching Programs Aren’t Selling16 Nov 202100:23:38

Struggling to sell as an online coach? Whether it seems like no one’s interested in your offers, you can’t close deals or your leads are ghosting you, chances are you’re making *at least* one of the five mistakes I’m discussing in this episode.

By making a few shifts, you can likely make your sales process far easier and more successful because, contrary to popular belief, selling does NOT have to be stressful or challenging (I promise!). In fact, when you do it right, sales gets to be FUN.

Give this episode a listen if you’re ready to change the way you approach selling your programs – just remember to give me a shoutout when your closing rate skyrockets!

In this episode, I cover:

Assumptions people often make when they aren’t selling, including what I used to think when I struggled with sales [1:58]

The importance of frequently pitching your offer [3:55]

Why you need to shift your focus from your program’s features to its OUTCOMES when you’re selling [6:52]

The problem with selling to a cold or un-targeted audience [10:55]

Building trust with your audience so they see you as an authority and an expert in your field [14:20]

Why you need to energetically get behind your offer (and yourself) to support your success as an online coach [17:00]

Why Coaches Should Be Doing Sales Calls02 Nov 202100:24:47

If you’re a coach who is trying to sell your programs or services strictly via direct messages on social media or through email, I have bad news: You’re leaving a LOT of sales on the table.

That’s because when it comes to closing deals, sales calls are a MUST – especially if you’re trying to sell high-ticket offers.

Today I’m explaining why sales calls are so effective and giving you tips and tricks for handling potential clients when they slide into your DMs asking for pricing (who else has been ghosted immediately after sharing the cost of your coaching?). Plus, I’m sharing the message you *actually* need to be relaying to your leads during sales calls in order to seal the deal – and it’s probably not what you think.

In this episode, I cover:

The ways I used to sell my programs – and why I’ll never NOT do sales calls again [5:00]

The importance of sales calls in helping you and the potential client decide if you’re a good fit for one another [6:45]

How sales calls enhance your ability to relay the value and effectiveness of your coaching and programs [9:15]

Where the value of your coaching program ACTUALLY comes from (spoiler alert: it’s not in the “stuff” you’re giving people) [10:55]

What to say when someone messages you asking for your prices [14:25]

Overcoming objections on sales calls (and the objections we should *not* try to overcome) [16:45]

Using sales calls to create a sense of urgency when it comes to making a decision about purchasing your services [20:45]

How to Deal With Unmotivated Clients05 Oct 202100:25:51

Even if you’re the best coach in the world, you’re going to end up with unmotivated clients at some point. Maybe you’re telling them all the right things, you’re encouraging and supporting them, you’re doing all you can to help them reach their goal… but for whatever reason, they’re just not taking action.

As a coach, you obviously cannot force anyone to do the work or to follow through on the plan you’ve created, but you CAN do a few things to help your clients get back on track when they’ve lost motivation, and that’s what I’m discussing in this episode.

Today I’m sharing my best strategies for re-engaging clients when they’ve lost motivation, as well as explaining why I believe coaches need to have solid boundaries with their clients and only take ownership for what is truly theirs. Remember: You’re a coach, not a wizard with a magic wand!

In this episode, I cover:

Two things to have in place to help you avoid having a roster full of unmotivated clients [4:30]

The importance of having empathy and meeting your clients where they are – not where *you* are or where you wish they were [10:45]

Why it’s a good idea to be honest and direct with your clients when you notice they’re not putting in the work [13:00]

Identifying what’s holding clients back and helping them break through the barriers [15:00]

Being willing to slow down with clients to help them achieve success and (hopefully) become motivated again [16:45]

Understanding that each of your clients are responsible for their level of motivation – among many other things [20:20]

Why coaches should establish healthy emotional boundaries with clients [22:45]

How To Get Over Your Fear Of Selling28 Sep 202100:34:49

If the idea of selling completely freaks you out, you’re not alone – in fact, I used to absolutely HATE selling. However, if you want to grow your business and become more profitable, you have to get more comfortable with sales… and become good at making them!

Today I’m sharing how I overcame my own fear of selling and developed a skill set that’s made sales a lot of fun for me. The same can be true for you, too, and I’m hoping you believe that by the time you’ve finished listening to this episode!

You’ll hear four of my top tips for moving past your fears, as well as my thoughts on what sales are REALLY all about (spoiler alert: there’s nothing sleazy or scammy about sales *at all* if you’re offering someone something that can benefit them). Buckle up, buttercup – I’m about to blow your mind.

In this episode, I cover:

My early experiences with selling [1:28]

Why you can’t expect your programs to just “sell themselves” [3:15]

Recognizing that selling/sales = service and isn’t harmful or manipulative [5:52]

The reasons selling is NOT about convincing someone to want what you’re offering [7:05]

Why being good at selling isn’t about having a certain personality type [9:50]

The problem with making sales about you rather than about your clients (or the people you’re hoping to serve) [12:25]

Why you don’t have to feel guilty or bad for wanting to be paid for your services [13:55]

The value in understanding that what you’re selling won’t resonate with everyone – and knowing that’s OK [17:50]

The reason making sales doesn’t mean “taking money” from others [21:40]

Makings sales easy by falling in love with the programs or services you’re selling [24:20]

The benefit of focusing on the incredible results/outcomes your clients will get from your program rather than focusing on the program itself [25:00]

Why falling in love with yourself can help you overcome your fear of selling, too [30:10]

My definition of the word “mindset” (and why your mindset could be holding you back) [3:40]

Real-life examples of how different mindsets can hinder OR help coaches [5:00]

The impact of trusting that you have what it takes to be where you want to be [12:40]

How believing that you’re always improving can change your trajectory [16:00]

The life-changing magic of trusting that anything you struggle with CAN become easy (or at least easier) [19:20]

What I tell myself when I’m feeling stuck – and why you should try it, too, if you want to stop giving up on your goals [22:30]

Why choosing to be optimistic and hopeful is incredibly powerful, even if we never get the outcome we want [24:05]

The Bible verse I look to when I need to be reminded to have faith in what I cannot yet see [25:45]
