Porky's by 20th Century Fox
Episode 228
dimanche 27 octobre 2024 • Duration 01:07:13
Welcome back to the show, glad to finally get this out, which is the episode about Porky's from 20th Century Fox. Did you know it's based on a movie? It's true! I do hope you enjoy the episode, and I always appreciate your continued patience with me. I think from now on I will give a feedback due date and let the episode fall where it falls. If I want to do something seems easier than if I need to do something, if that makes sense. I would love to get back to every 2 weeks, but that just isn't in the cards right now. Thank you all so much for sticking with me through all of this!
The next episode will be about Big Bird's Egg Catch from Atari, the final released Children's Television Workshop and Atari joint. But fear not, there's plenty of prototypes from this pairing to talk about. Stop groaning! If you would like to submit written or audio feedback, please send it to 2600gamebygame@gmail.com by November 6, EOD. No need to summarize the game, that as always is my job, just tell me what you think of it or if you have a memory associated with it (now or then). Also, if you send an audio file, please put your name in the filename and the game title in the subject line. It makes it easier to find later on. Once again, I love you all and I thank you for listening.

I am so sorry it's taking me so long to get episodes out. It seems like it's one step up, two steps back. I am trying to fix it. Despite that, the new episode featuring Dragonstomper by Starpath (formerly Arcadia) is now available. I hope you enjoy it. Coming up next will be Porky's by 20th Century Fox. I have some stuff coming up, so please get me your feedback by June 5th. You can send that to 2600gamebygame@gmail.com. Once again, I am grateful to all of you for sticking with me and being patient. I love you all and I am very lucky to have you!

Master Builder by Spectravideo
Episode 220
mercredi 2 novembre 2022 • Duration 59:45
I am back this week to discuss a Spectravideo game, after 7 years! This game is called Master Builder, and I really hope you enjoy the episode. Coming up next will be Gauntlet by Answer Software. If you have thoughts on Gauntlet, you can send them to me at 2600gamebygame@gmail.com. Please just tell me your thoughts, I'll take care of the rest. The last game for the year is Mean Santa by John Harvey and Tim Duarte. If you have feedback for Mean Santa, I'll need it by November 28th. Finally, if you have any video game Christmas memories (it doesn't need to be Atari 2600, but please keep it to video games), I will be doing another Christmas show this year, provided I get enough submissions. Please get those to me by December 16th. Tune in to YouTube this weekend at 8 pm on November 4 and 5 to watch me play games badly for Extra Life. I don't know why you would want to watch that, but I'm glad you do.
Thank you as always for your kindness, and for listening.

Episode 148
mercredi 24 janvier 2018 • Duration 01:35:07
Welcome to episode 148, where I discuss the Sega game and horrible fiery recurring death of Congo Bongo! Poor Congo Bongo, he never had a chance. Next up is Wall Ball by Avalon Hill, which is pretty rare. If you have any feedback on this game, why not send it to me at 2600gamebygame@gmail.com? You'll be glad you did! Thank you all for listening.

147 - Popeye by Parker Brothers
Episode 147
mercredi 10 janvier 2018 • Duration 01:49:30
Happy New Year! Today's episode is about Popeye by Parker Brothers, based on the Nintendo arcade game, which in turn is based on the Popeye cartoons, which in turn again is based on the original comic strip which didn't originally feature Popeye (I know, right?!). Lots of great feedback, thank you all so much! Coming up next is Congo Bongo by Sega. If you have feedback for this game, please get it to me by January 21st. I am trying to turn over a new podcasting leaf, hopefully starting on feedback earlier will help. Thank you all so much for listening!

Bonus Track - My Baking Career
Episode 6
lundi 25 décembre 2017 • Duration 01:11:22
Merry Christmas everyone! I recorded this episode while I was baking Christmas cookies, so please excuse the sound quality and background noises. I thought that would be a good time to talk about what I do for a living (and for leisure too!). I hope that you will enjoy listening to it. Thank you once again for a wonderful year!

Bonus Track - John Lennon 1940-1980
vendredi 8 décembre 2017 • Duration 45:29
John Lennon has been a huge part of my life for decades. In this Bonus Track episode, I talk about how his murder affected me then and now. I know it's not the most happiest of topics around the holidays, I probably should have put this out on his birthday. But it didn't make sense to me to do that.
One thing I forgot to talk about during the show was one of my trips to NYC in the late 80s. I went with some friends to the Dakota building, where John Lennon lived and was murdered. I left feeling a renewed sadness about the murder, because the area where he was shot was so small. I had built it up in my head that since this was such an earth shattering event for me, the area where it happened would be bigger somehow. But it wasn't, it was just the entrance to an apartment building, albeit an expensive one. We went to Strawberry Fields in Central Park across the street afterwards, which made me feel a little better, but not much. I wasn't expecting so many flowers and trinkets left by fans on the Imagine mosaic almost a decade after the murder. I think a part of me was hoping to find some answers there as to why this happened, but I was disappointed. I don't think now that there are any answers. I would like to go back to Strawberry Fields someday, but I will stay away from the Dakota.
Regardless of the morose subject matter, I do hope you enjoy the episode and I thank you for listening. We all shine on.

146 - Quadrun by Atari
Episode 146
mercredi 29 novembre 2017 • Duration 01:50:59
Alfred E. Neuman once said, "Better late than never. Unless you're going to the dentist!" Oh, how we laughed. This episode is about the extremely elusive Atari Age magazine mailaway game, Quadrun. It is the first home video game to feature speech without having to use an add on unit, like those OTHER systems. It also makes its own gravy! Coming up in January is Popeye by Parker Brothers. If you have any feedback for this game or any I've already covered, please send it to 2600gamebygame@gmail.com and I will read or play it on the show. Also, if you have any Christmas memories you'd like to share for the Christmas episode, please send it in by December 15th. I would love to hear from you! Thank you so much for listening.
