| The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Nottingham Forest 1-0 Arsenal (EP.149) | 21 May 2023 | 01:41:07 | |
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Manchester City were officially crowned champions as Arsenal lost to Nottingham Forest who secure their place in next seasons Premier League campaign. Arsenal were completely outplayed and lacked any sort of determination or fighting spirit. From the very beginning, Forest set the tone with their aggressive and physical approach, leaving Arsenal unable to find their rhythm. It was frustrating to witness Arsenal's slow and uninspiring possession, as they failed to make any impactful passes or break through the opposition's defence. The goal they conceded was a result of a careless mistake by Ødegaard. Throughout the game, Arsenal seemed disinterested and lacked the passion needed to turn the match around. It's disheartening to see such a lackluster performance, especially considering the talent and potential in the squad. This loss is a clear indication that there is a serious lack of ambition and a winning mentality within the team, which is a major concern for the future. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 0-3 Brighton (EP.148) | 14 May 2023 | 01:39:06
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal's hopes of winning a Premier League title came to a disappointing end as Brighton delivered the knockout blow in a bitterly crushing 3-0 defeat at the Emirates stadium. Although it is still mathematically possible for the Gunners to win the title, Manchester City can secure top spot if they beat Chelsea on Sunday which is more than likely. Arsenal arrived at the Emirates having learnt that Manchester City cruised past Everton in a routine away fixture which put them 4 points ahead of their title chasing rivals. This, added with the quality of their opposition were two factors that weighed too much for the Gunners to secure a 3rd successive win. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Newcastle Utd 0-2 Arsenal (EP.147) | 08 May 2023 | 01:34:34
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal produced a brilliant away performance at St James Park to keep their title hopes very much alive. Only Liverpool had beaten Newcastle at St James Park this season and that was with Newcastle playing with 10 men for the majority of the game. This time around Arsenal battled physically in all areas of the pitch to keep a clean sheet but also to produce good counter attacking moments which was how they scored the second goal. It was clear from the first minute of the game that Newcastle would play with an aggressive front footed approach. Arsenal had to rely on certain bits of good defensive work from Kiwior and Gabriel, but it was the calm composure and leadership skills of Jorginho who helped the young Arsenal squad to find their way to victory. Jorginho was instrumental in creating a good defensive shape and helped progress the ball into key areas of the pitch which helped us stay in the game during a time when Newcastle were throwing wave after wave of long balls deep into our half. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea (EP.146) | 03 May 2023 | 01:20:40
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal fans wanted a response from the team having let the title slip into the hands of Man City, and they got it! A masterclass first half performance saw the Gunners blow away a lacklustre Chelsea who looked absolutely short of any confidence and allowed Arsenal to control every blade of grass. The positive attitude and overall aggressive attacking tempo helped us score early on allowing us to continue playing in a really confident fashion that gave us the next two goals. Despite a really tepid first half Chelsea performance they managed to claw back a goal and pushed for a second until the final whistle. Despite dominating the game, Arsenal failed to score in the second half which some may find frustrating but the positive performance gives Arsenal some hope of pushing City to the very end. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Man City 4-1 Arsenal (EP.145) | 26 Apr 2023 | 01:37:11
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal suffer a humiliating defeat at the hands of Manchester City who are now in the drivers seat as they close the gap to 2 points with 2 games in hand. From the very start of the game they were comfortable and asserted a type of dominance that only champions are capable of producing. They had the experience and a level of composure that put Arsenal on the polar opposite end. Arsenal failed to start the game on the front foot and allowed City too much time and space on the ball. They got an early goal and Arsenal failed to respond with any sort of intensity or pressure. Arsenal were completely outplayed by City in every department and deservedly take all 3 points. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-3 Southampton (EP.144) | 23 Apr 2023 | 01:23:31
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal suffered yet another frustrating draw to Southampton at the Emirates Stadium as the chase for the title starts to really heat up. The game started off poorly with Ramsdale creating a mistake to gift Southampton the lead. This led to misplaced passes and a lack of response to Southampton's press. The decision to play Vieira instead of an experienced Jorginho saw us approach the game tentatively, and it seemed like Southampton were more fluid in possession. While we did manage to pull one back with a great goal from Martinelli, the momentum still seemed to be with Southampton, and we continued to struggle with slow movement and poor decision making. As the match progressed, we made some substitutions, but it still felt like we were lacking the urgency and intensity needed to get back into the game. However it was until the final 10 minutes where Odegaard and Sara salvaged what could be a crucial point as it all comes down to the game at the Etihad. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - West Ham 2-2 Arsenal (EP.143) | 16 Apr 2023 | 01:26:21
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal faced a disappointing defeat against West Ham this afternoon. The Gunners struggled to find their rhythm throughout the match, with West Ham dominating large parts of the game and creating several goal scoring opportunities. Despite some promising moments, Arsenal's defence was vulnerable, and West Ham capitalised on defensive lapses to secure a convincing victory. The defeat leaves Arsenal fans disappointed, and highlights the need for improvements as they look to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures. Arsenal struggled to create clear-cut chances in the final third, with their attacking efforts largely ineffective against West Ham's resolute defence. The defeat marks a setback for Arsenal's ambitions and puts pressure on the team to regroup, analyse their performance, and work towards improving their form in the next matches. Arsenal fans will be hoping for a swift response from their team as they strive to climb the league table and achieve their season objectives. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Liverpool 2-2 Arsenal (EP.142) | 10 Apr 2023 | 01:35:05
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal lose a 2-0 lead to draw at Anfield against a Liverpool side who had the officials on their side. What would have been a really desirable point at Anfield at the beginning of the game turned out to be a frustrating ending following a list of dodgy officiating decisions. Arsenal dominated the opening 35 minutes with 2 well worked team goals. Liverpool were allowed back into the game following a moment of madness from Granit Xhaka who understandably lost his cool. A missed Mo penalty lead to a late second half equaliser from Liverpools Firmino following Arteta’s decision to see the game out with defensive changes. The last 10 minutes of the game saw both sides throwing everything at each other but it ends with both sides sharing the spoils. Arsenal restart their premier league campaign in winning fashion after a comfortable victory at the Emirates stadium to regain their 8 point cushion at the top of the league. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 4-1 Crystal Palace (EP.140) | 19 Mar 2023 | 00:58:24
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal blow away Palace at the Emirates stadium and remind all fans why they’re at the top of the league. Many looked forward to the kind of response fans would get following a disappointing defeat in the Europa League to Sporting. But from the very first minute they played with pace, intensity, desire, hunger and concentration which was reflected in the way they were moving the ball and toying with Palace on the edge of their box. All 4 goals were wonderfully worked and a reflection of the brilliant football they’ve been playing all season. Ben White in particular was fantastic on the right hand side and used his overlapping runs to put dangerous balls into the box as well as slot Saka in on goal. An honourable mention for Rob Holding as he filled in for injured William Saliba. He contributed in the buildup of Arsenals attacking football and did his defensive duties as Arsenal only concede from a scrappy corner. As we head into the international break Arsenal find themselves 8 points clear at the top Please let us know what you enjoyed about the podcast and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Gunners were given s as further boost with the return of Jesus who came on for 15 minutes and had even had a shot on goal. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Sporting CP 2-2 Arsenal (EP.137) | 09 Mar 2023 | 01:23:48
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal held at Lisbon as the first leg of the Europa league round of 16 draws to a close. A game Sporting managed really well after taking advantage of Turners poor goalkeeping to get back into the game following a well worked Arsenal corner which saw Saliba head in. However, it was a great bit of Sporting play on the edge of the Arsenal box with Edwards being the creative link in the final third to help Paulinho tap in to put Sporting ahead. Arsenal had to rely on a little bit of luck with Xhaka’s deflected shot which found the back of the net. A performance Arsenal will want to put behind them as they head back to the Emirates with a need to win. It was a poor start to the game after Billings converted inside 9 seconds of the start and it continued to go downhill for the Gunners who conceded a second goal early on in the second half. However, Parteys quick goal injected some belief into the squad which output Bournemouth on the defensive. But it was super sub Reiss Nelson who set up the second goal and scored the winner to put Arsenal 5 points clear. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Leicester 0-1 Arsenal (EP.135) | 25 Feb 2023 | 01:19:26
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal grab 3 points at the king power stadium to further extend their lead at the top by 5 points with city to play in the afternoon. A game which started with Arsenal dominance, fluid football, effective attacking play between a trio of Martinelli, Saka and trossard. The front three seemed to add more directness that opened up Leicesters defence but continued to miss the final bit of quality in the box. However, it was an early second half Martinelli goal that sealed the victory after Arsenal struggled to get back into their first half rhythm. Leicester pressed high and pushed Arsenal to their limits as they lacked the quality to take advantage of the numerous goal scoring opportunities. It’s another 3 points for the Gunners who look to start a long run of winning games. Please let us know what you enjoyed about the podcast and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Aston Villa 2-4 Arsenal (EP.134) | 21 Feb 2023 | 01:13:29
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. A thriller at Villa saw the Gunners take all three points in a dramatic end to a dramatic game with two stoppage time goals, including an own goal from former Arsenal goalkeeper Emi Martinez. We came from behind twice before storming to victory, with Oleksandr Zinchenko scored his first goal for The Arsenal to bring us level at 2 – 2 with an absolute stunner from outside the box. There were two changes from the team that lost to Manchester City on Wednesday; Ben White returned to the starting XI and Trossard displaced Martinelli in his first Premier League start for Arsenal. Jorginho retained his place as Thomas Partey has a muscle injury and Emile Smith Rowe had a place on the bench as he returns from injury. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 1-3 Man City (EP.133) | 15 Feb 2023 | 01:21:42
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. City push Arsenal out of the top spot from goal difference. A brilliant first half display from the Gunners was marred by a scrappy second half where both teams resorted to physical duals in which City ended up on top. The result doesn’t tell the full story of the game though as Arsenal had a number of guilt edge opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net but a lack of finishers up top meant City only needed to get the ball into the box on a smaller number of occasions. Arsenal still find themselves with a game in hand and could head back to the top of the table. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 1-1 Brentford (EP.132) | 12 Feb 2023 | 01:00:35
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Brentford frustrate Arsenal as they fail to secure 3 points. A cagey game at the Emirates with Brentford setting up brilliantly over both halves. Arsenal continued to flourish in large parts of the game but the final bit of movement on the edge of the box was missing which resulted in a number of deep crosses in the Brentford box. Eventually one of the crosses resulted in a Trossard goal but it as the persistence of Toney which got Brentford a deserved point. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast (ft. @Arseblog) - Can Arsenal Exploit Man City's Misery (EP.131) | 08 Feb 2023 | 01:23:12
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. After a mad weekend of football both on and off the pitch, we're joined by Andrew Mangan from Arseblog where we discuss a range of different Arsenal related topics but start the podcast by discussing the 115 charges put to Manchester City by the Premier League where they face potential expulsion from the league and potential points deduction. In Arsenal news, we discuss the repercussions of the Everton defeat, what it means going into the Brentford game and what the main issues were that cost us the 3 points. We give our thoughts on Folarin Balogun and whether we should keep or sell him in the summer. Andrew gives his thoughts on the Zinchenko vs Tierney that Arteta faces. We touch on the potential £120m fee for Declan Rice. Finally, we end the show by looking ahead to the Man City game and the main differences between Pep and Mikel. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Everton 1-0 Arsenal (EP.130) | 05 Feb 2023 | 01:14:49
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal suffer their second defeat of the season against an Everton side who played its first game under Sean Dyche. The new manager bounce came to light as Dyches two former Burnley players McNeil and Tarkowski were the result of a well worked corner which saw them secure the 3 points in front of a raucous Everton crowd. Despite the brilliant Dyche setup and overall desire to win the game, Arsenal had their handful of opportunities and periods of the game where they maybe could have been better. The response to last weekends FA Cup defeat to Manchester City wasn’t the one Arteta would have hoped for but they still find themselves 5 points clear and another opportunity to get back on track when they welcome Brentford at the Emirates. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-2 Manchester United (EP.128) | 22 Jan 2023 | 01:33:09
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal produce a sterling second half performance to take all 3 points from one of the games of the season. Manchester United arrived in North London with a point to prove having already dropped 2 points at Palace. However, Arsenal also had a point to prove having suffered their only defeat to United earlier on in the season. Both teams started really quick with a Rashford opener that shook up the Emirates. But it was a resilient and quality filled Arsenal that saw the Gunners dominate large parts of the game to produce a last minute winner. Some outstanding performances across the pitch but special mention has to go out for Ødegaard, Saka and Nketiah who were the difference makers. Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. North London remains red and Arsenal pick up all 3 points at Tottenham for the first time since 2014. An impressive first half performance saw the Gunners score two early goals to secure the victory with Spurs throwing everything in the second half but not managing to find a way past man of the match, Aaron Ramsdale who made some brilliant saves to keep a clean sheet. Despite missing out on their number 1 transfer target, they showed once again why they are a force to be reckoned with. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Oxford United 0-3 Arsenal (EP.126) | 09 Jan 2023 | 01:31:22
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal beat Oxford in the second half to set up a mouthwatering 4th round tie against fellow title contenders Manchester City. The first half performance wouldn’t have given most Gooners confidence though as Arsenal struggled to get into the flow of things and produced nothing more than a lacklustre performance with Oxford playing with heart and desire to close off all attacking channels to the Gunners. A lack of creativity in midfield didn’t help either with Xhaka and Zinchenko coming on to help Arsenal take the lead and be involved in the two goals that followed. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 0-0 Newcastle Utd (EP.125) | 04 Jan 2023 | 01:31:31
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal draw their second game of the season, this time in different circumstances. In many ways this draw will feel like a defeat with the gunners dominating both half’s of the game. They played brilliantly in all areas across the pitch and made Newcastle look very average compared to the threat they’ve looked this season. Despite dropping 2 points, Mikel will take much confidence going forward as they display yet again, another brilliant performance. Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. A controlled and dominant performance that saw Arsenal start the second part of the season in style. The first half included everything other than the goal. A mistake from Saliba cost Arsenal a penalty which was comfortably converted by Benrahma. The gunners came out with a different kind of aggression and bite that saw them produce 3 very well worked goals. They’re now 7 points clear at the top with Manchester City travelling to Leeds on Wednesday to try and close the gap. Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. After 14 games, Arsenal go 5 points clear at the top of the Premier League. They will be top of the league for Christmas with one game in hand which happens to be against Manchester City. No one would have seen a start this powerful and convincing. Despite the game not being played at the right tempo or speed that we’re used to seeing Arsenal play at, we created enough chances over the two halves to score two very vital goals. Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal suffer their 3rd defeat of the season and find themselves knocked out of the Carabao cup following a disappointing result to Brighton. The game exposed much to address over the World Cup and in the January window as the lack of adequate cover in midfield saw us lose momentum in key moments of the game following large spells of dominance. However, despite the defeat, there were some standout performances from Saliba and Nelson who played with explosive intensity which we’d missing from others. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal (EP.118) | 06 Nov 2022 | 01:11:27
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal secure a big victory at Stamford Bridge after collecting 3 vital points to move back to 1st in the league. The game was dominated by the 11 red and white men from the first minute who produced a spectacular performance in all areas of the pitch. Chelsea were clearly second best and played a lethargic style of football that was reminiscent of Arsenal under Unai Emery. Arsenals centre back partnership is working a treat after yet again another clean sheet. Onwards and upwards! One more Premier League game to go before the world cup break. Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenals response to their second defeat this season is a 5-0 thumping against Nottingham Forest who were miles behind the Gunners throughout the 90 minutes of the game. It was a quick start following a Martinelli goal in the opening 5 minutes. However, after Saka was forced off the pitch following an ankle injury, his substitute stole the show with 2 goals that effectively ended the competitive edge to the game, if there was ever any in the first place. A consistently high quality of football saw the gunners keep a clean sheet and score a couple more goals to go back to the top of the premier league. | The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - PSV Eindhoven 2-0 Arsenal (EP.116) | 27 Oct 2022 | 01:09:25
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal suffer their first defeat in the Europa League at the hands of group rivals PSV Eindhoven who appeared reenergised from the defeat at the Emirates last week. They came out in the second half with two well earned goals after having two in the first half disallowed, which gives Arteta the task of finishing off the job of securing a first place finish at the Emirates next Thursday in their final Europa League game against FC Zurich. They will need to perform miles better than they did in Eindhoven if they are to secure the top spot as they were off the pace from the very first minute of the game. PSV showed more desire, passion and fight which ultimately earned the victory, whilst Arsenal played in second gear and failed to capitalise on a number of big opportunities in front of goal Please let us know what you enjoyed about the podcast and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Points dropped by Arsenal as they fail to secure a victory following a brilliant first half performance. Southampton came back into the second half with a performance that aimed to disrupt Arsenal from playing their slick and fluid football. Arsenal failed to utilise the ball when in possession and didn’t deserve anything at the end of the game as they clearly looked exhausted by the end of the game. Not a pretty reflection of what Arsenal are capable of. But despite the substandard performance, they maintain their position as league leaders Please let us know what you enjoyed about the podcast and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast.
