Trends and Predictions for 202207 Jan 202200:38:30
Are you curious about the trends and predictions for 2022 and how they will affect physical therapy? Here are the seven things I see that will impact how we will be doing business in the new year.1) Alternative Streams of revenue.

You need to build multiple streams of revenue for yourself, even if you just have 1 or 2 waiting to be your next thing. What are the ways you can diversify your income? Maybe one of these things will be your focus later.

2) PT’s will be demanding higher salaries.

You’ll need to figure out a way to help your employees earn more, especially if you want to keep them as amazing employees. You also may need to figure out haw to pay yourself more! If you’re only charging $150 an hour, you’re going to have a hard time paying your employees what they’re worth, or even making a profit. You have to incentivize the position!

3) Facebook ads are harder and more expensive

This is why having a proven offer and solid email marketing follow up system is more important than ever. This needs to be in place BEFORE you run ads. And it’s only going to get harder and harder. Facebook is a moving target. What’s better than Facebook ads? The system that comes behind it. An automated email system is vital to eventually converting the leads that don’t initially convert. If you can’t follow up, you can’t convert.

4) More people than ever are getting sick

Not just with covid, and have metabolic disease. Patients think that they need an MRI, or surgery, or a medication to ever feel good again. And who is better to educate the public than a doctor of physical therapy. It’s not just fixing back pain, it’s fixing mindset.

5) Covid

This is the way it is and it will never be the way it was. Get over it. Start living and planning for what’s coming next. What’s your next move? People still need our help as physical therapists. If we’re not in the conversation, then we don’t matter.

6) Online businesses

More PT’s starting online businesses, not just cash practices. More people are starting to start businesses and making money online. We’ve had dozens and dozens of people come through our courses in the last quarter. Don’t wait! Start building a social media presence and a following now!  People come into it and get upset they don’t make $10,000 a month in the first year. Things take time to grow! But there’s no better time to start than now!

7) Inflation

You need to find a way to increase your income more than inflation. Sell an online course, teach a group class, do some coaching, ask for a raise. if you own a cash practice and you’re feeling it you are not charging enough already. You have to figure out how to leverage other people’s money to make more money.

Sales is the hard work. Most people rather market more instead of sell more. But you don’t need more marketing. You need to sell.

6 BIG Business & Life Lessons from 202124 Dec 202100:46:03

Being the end of the year, I want to look back and reflect on what worked and what didn't so 2022 can be even better! Here are my top six lessons!

1) The world is a different place.

We are not going back to the way it was. It is the way is will be right now.  We are going on year three of dealing with COVID, regardless of how you feel about it. People’s buying habits have changed and we have to adapt to that. Our businesses needs to shift and change and we need to offer something new. Is this one of your lessons?

2) Physical therapists are still afraid of talking about money.

Money can do amazing things. You should not be afraid to talk about money. It’s still circulating and it’s you job to go out and find your money and do great things with it.  What could you do with your money if you had too much? Go find your money. Don’t wait for it to find you.

3) Crypto is here to stay.

And it is producing the next generation of generational wealth holders. Traditionally, generational wealth has been passed down between real estate and  land. There’s always something new coming around the corner. The real way to learn it is to get into it. It’s here. Don’t ignore it. Understand it.

4) Business is a long game.

Even in uncertain times, when you solve a BIG problem, put in the work and lay a foundation, your business will thrive. I’m looking for big plays, and I know they will take time. When you follow a roadmap, success will happen. Don’t just create a job for yourself. Think about the next step.

5) Next year will be even better…

...as long as you don’t stop and never quit. Every year in my business has been better than the last. We have to focus on the quality of our business movement, not just quantity. You have to have a good team that believes in your mission. You have to have systems in place that allow you to take vacation, or open another location. If your trend is downwards, then what can we do to change it?

6) When you live by default you get what you got. When you live by design you get what you want.

I belong to a mastermind and I have a coach. That may seem like a lot but its isn’t for my pace. I not going to just wait around and take what’s given to me. I am going to make my own fate. What are the things I need to keep doing and what are the things I can have other people do? And what do I need to start doing. Being a business owner isn’t for everyone, and if it isn’t for you, then it’s okay to quit and do what is best for you.

Figure out what you want and then go out and get it. I’ve heard way more excuses this past year than ever before. If someone is doing something, what’s the difference between you and them? Be quick to ask for help because it’s the fastest way to get what you want.

7-Figure Physical Therapy Funnel17 Dec 202100:32:50
On today’s episode, I’m going to show you how we made 7-figures in a single funnel. Because I want you to be able to do it, too! Here are the steps to create a 7-Figure funnel.Step 1: Know your customer

Know what they need, want, ready. You can’t help people who don’t want help. You can have the best offer in the world, but if someone isn’t receptive to being helped, then it’s a waste of time. You have to know what you’re doing with sales and marketing to reach the people who want your help. Then you have to be ready to build systems for scale.

Step 2: Have a proven offer

You know your offer works. You know your offer converts. And people can understand it your offer. Think about explaining your offer using 4th grade language. Can you do it?

Step 3: Have a nurture process

Have a value ladder: lead magnet, follow up, make a call to action. With each step of the value ladder, you’re increasing the cost, but the value increases exponentially. You start by providing value for free and then give people a chance to make a bigger buy-in along the way. A value ladder presents options for everyone.

It’s not sustainable to work in a profession that’s burning us out. What you really want is to help people and have a bigger impact. What are you doing with the following you have? Are you leveraging it to get media outlet and talk about your area of expertise?

Find someone who has done it before to help you. Find a mentor, coach, or group to guide you along the process. You will only be as successful as you’re willing to take action. You’re never going to feel like it’s the right time. Successful people invest in their businesses. They find a way to grow.

Topics we cover:

-What is a funnel?

-Giving answers to patients

-Growing and scaling your business

-Helping people who want your help

-The steps to creating a successful funnel

-The components of a value ladder

-The importance of sales and marketing

-Investing in yourself

Everything I Know About Business I Learned Racing Bicycles10 Dec 202100:53:01

Maybe you don’t know this, but growing up I had a dream of racing in the Tour de France and winning bike races. Did I actually think I would make it tour the Tour de France? Maybe not, but I did know that I got a feeling racing bikes that I didn’t get from anything else. And I wanted to win.

Everything I know about business I learned racing bicycles. It helped me learn that investing in myself was the best investment I could make.

Got to Get Out of Your Comfort zone in order to grow

I went to Belgium to race bikes before I was necessarily ready to do so. Bike racing in Belgium is like baseball in America, or soccer in Brazil. It is THE sport. I may not have been good enough to win all of my races, but it gave me the opportunity to be around riders who were better than I was, push myself to improve, and experience life in a different country.

Must being around people better than you

I came back from that trip, raced in the USA and was able to dominate because of the habits I picked up from the better racers in Belgium. The same goes for business. Ingratiate with people who are ahead in the game, regardless of their fields, because there is always something you can learn.

Have to be Persistent

If you stop, you lose. If you’re not willing to do the hard stuff, then maybe you need a new goal. You have to do the things you don’t want to do and be willing to be uncomfortable.

Age is only a number

I was 26 when I started racing in Europe and was told I was too old to start. I can unequivocally say that you can do new things at any age. It might be more common for new grads to do it, but success comes at any age. Don’t let your age define you. You can learn anything, you just need the willingness to learn it. Time in the field doesn’t define your success either.

Success isn’t winning, it’s consistency

Success comes because you put in the work. Because you put in the consistency. You don’t have to get everything perfect, you just have to be consistent. I didn’t win every race, but I consistently placed well and got enough points to move up categories.

Time off is just as important as time under tension

As an entrepreneur, is more of a work life mix, but you still need to take actual time off. You are able to work harder in your business when you are well-rested. You have to set up your business in a way that it can run without you at times.

Information isn’t as important as implementation

I knew how to train, there was a lot of information.

Must invest and be willing to go into debt

Whoever is telling you to pay off your student loans as fast as possible, you need to stop listening to them. You need to stop focusing on debt and start thinking about how to leverage investments.

Need to work with a coach to reach the big leagues

I knew if I could find the right coach, I could improve. Once I did, I went to Category 1 quickly. He gave me a plan that included strategy and recovery. I was able to stop spending the mental energy on figuring out what I was going to do and focus on actually doing it.

Taking care of your body and nutrition is key to performance

If you focus on your goal, taking care of your body has to be in the forefront of your strategy. Optimizing your nutrition and your health can help you in optimizing your business goals. You can reach peak performance. As a physical therapist, you have to walk the walk.

Ep. 185 Top 8 Mistakes PT Biz Owners Make19 Nov 202100:42:21

Today we talk about the top 8 mistakes that PT Business owners make.

1) Not Having Clear Goals and Why

Where so you want to be in five years? If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll never get there. I want to know your goals, how much money do you want to make? When do you want to retire? Who do you want to serve? What problems do you want to solve? How much time do you want to be working?

2) Making it perfect

We were trained to get A’s, but you have to shift yourself away from that student or employee mindset. Being perfect is keeping you from taking action. Take imperfect action so you can get it done. Then you can go back and make improvements. Let perfection drive your decisions but take imperfect action. Stop waiting for it to be done, just put the ball in play.

3) Making it all about you

Our egos are fragile. They try to protect themselves. You need to stop that and look outward. Drop the ego and stop trying to prove yourself. If you can create a vision bigger than yourself, then you can do incredible things.  team, time treating

4) Not being in a community

You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Think about community, not competition. Who are you going to approach if you have a question or you're struggling if you don’t have a community?

5) Always focusing on getting more new patients

You need to focus on your sales process, systems and nurturing your current and former patients/clients. Client acquisition is not the only pressing issue in your business. What’s happening with the patients who are already here? Sales ins’t about being pushy, it’s about asking the right questions.

6) Stop when they feel resistance

Resistance is a sign that you need to keep moving forward! When it hurts, that means you’re growing. You just need to keep taking one step of a time to see the growth that’s  around the corner.

7) Going it alone

“I’m smart enough, I can figure this out all by myself.” That’s the ego talking. Asking help is one of the bravest things you can do, and it’s just going to move you forward even faster. Don’t reinvent the wheel, make the wheel better.

8) Not working with a coach

Every successful athlete you know was coached. To get out of PT school you had many teachers, clinical instructors, and “coaches”. Why do you expect something different from business? PT school did not train you to become a successful business owner. A good coach doesn’t do things for you, they give you tools and help yo create a plan. They share their experience. The people who get the most from coaching are quick to ask questions, quick to take action, and share their wins and loses.

These are the common mistakes I see people make. But you can avoid them by knowing your why and taking your ago out of the equations. Find a group, a community, a coach to help you along the way and provide the positive mindset you need.

Go brain dump all of your ideas and then focus on the one thing that will make the biggest difference in your business.

Ep. 184 Go Big or Go Make Ice Cream with Stephen Edelson12 Nov 202100:44:50

Today we talk with Stephen Edelson, an entrepreneur that started an ice cream sandwich business from scratch. He’s a self-taught baker and ice cream maker. Steve tells us how and why he’s been successful dishing out homemade ice cream sandwiches to the local community mostly through social media and word of mouth.

Stephen and Aaron share how they tried to find their career paths while they were in college and how they both knew that more traditional paths wouldn’t work for them. During the height of the pandemic, Stephen’s wife challenged him to stop talking about starting his own business and actually take the leap and do it. He had been talking about starting an ice cream sandwich business for year, even registering the domain name, but he never took action on it. When he finally made the leap, he took the lessons he learned from his medical sales business to make his new business run more smoothly through delegation.

The ultimate goal for Smusht is for Stephen is to have something he enjoys that allows him to do good and give back. He aims for his ice cream sandwiches to become a retail success. He is open to finding fulfillment in whatever way it comes. Stephen talks about what scares and excites him about the potential growth of his business, something that all entrepreneurs can relate to!

EP. 182 Your Email List is the most Valuable Asset in Your Business: The CashPT Lunch Hour29 Oct 202101:05:22

Your email list is the most valuable asset in your business, and it’s probably the most under appreciated.

I’m going to teach you how to create a business so valuable, that when you go to see it, the email list presents more than enough value. I’ve been hearing that email marketing is dead. That’s simply isn’t true. People who think that are only getting emails from people who don’t know how to do email marketing.

Conversion rates of your email list

When we talk about conversation rates of our email list, you should be making at least $1 per month per email. That’s the minimum. When I’m looking to buy a business, I don’t care about their accounts receivable, I car about their email list. I want to know how many names they hove, how they got them, and what the conversion rate is. Any charges associated with managing your list will be immediately offset with good conversion.

Followers aren’t dollars

We need to move away from the idea that coach media is the end all be all of modern marketing. Followers do not equal dollars. What if Instagram and Facebook go down for six hours like they did the other week? How are you going to communicate? If you have an email list, you get to control the flow of communication. Not the social media platforms.

Top 10 Ways to Build Your Email List
  1. Free Lead Magnet
  2. Run an in-person workshop and collect name, phone number, and email
  3. Webinars
  4. Free facebook group around the topic on the people you help
  5. Affiliate and Joint Venture partners
  6. Facebook Ads
  7. Google Ads
  8. Free training
  9. Podcast
  10. Raffle or Giveaway

The 3 DON’T DOs of Email marketing 39:08
  1. Don’t BCC our whole list from your gmail account
  2. Don’t use a free email account as your “send from” account
  3. Do not send to people who have not given explicit consent to receive your emails

Ep. 181 5 BIG Reasons You Need to Start Building Your Email List...Especially if You Want to Make Money22 Oct 202100:21:48
1) Followers are not dollars

They’re not your followers, they belong to Facebook or Youtube or Instagram. An email list is what you own. Email allows you to add value in a way that you can’t do on social media. Email isn’t sleazy. That’s not what we do! We add value! An email list allows you to control the flow of information, something that isn’t possible with social media. You may post great and informative content, but only 30% of your followers may even see it.

I talk about this and more in my FREE download 35 Marketing Strategies. These are things no one is teaching you in school, the APTA isn’t teaching you. Theses are strategies that are PROVEN to work.

2) The fortune is in the follow up

Some people will do business right now, but most people need follow up. They need to build a relationship with you first. 70-80% of people aren’t ready to buy today, but they will in the next 2 years if you stay relevant to them. You can easily create a lead magnet, give it away for free, and grow your email list. The you can use something like the PT Email Engine™️, that triggers an automated email sequence as soon as they request it.

3) YOU own the email list

Your account can’t get shut down like it can on Instagram of Facebook. I've seen pelvic floor PTs have their accounts locked because they algorithm flagged their content as inappropriate.  My email list is twice as big as my IG followers and I can download it and take it with me anytime and anywhere. I have full control!

4) The Know, Love, & Trust Factor

It’s no longer good enough to know, like, and trust, they need to love you. You need to share and show up for them. You can’t do that on social media where you're competing with thousands of others. If you send an email every Monday, people will come to look forward to that email, if it has value. The right client will buy product they don’t even need because they love you. You should be making at least $1 per contact per month. We are making $10 per contact per month. It’s not your job to end the conversation. There’s always an unsubscribe button. They can make the choice to leave.

5) You can mint money anytime you want

If you’ve built your email list the right way, you can create an offer that people can’t refuse because you are giving them what they need and want. You can pitch them a product or service and people on your list will buy in. I have things of value that serve people. The best day to start building your email list is yesterday. The next best day is right now.

Just imagine if you have a list of 100 people and one person gives you $1000?

What if you have 10,000 people on your email list?

What if you can convert 10% to your program or offer?

Ep 180 Embrace the Struggle with Kyle Rice15 Oct 202100:49:29

Today I speak with Dr. Kyle Rice founder of the PT Hustle. He helps PT students and grads who struggle with standardized exams pass the NPTE. As someone who struggled himself with standardized testing, he now makes it his mission to help others get past the hurdle of the NPTE.

Kyle shares how he felt like he had something to prove entering college because he got in despite his low test scores. After getting low scores on the MCAT so many times, he decided to apply to Physical Therapy school because he had excellent grades and did better on the GRE.

All of of the struggle have surrounding standardized test have to do with mindset. These types of tests can be anxiety-inducing events, which make it harder to do well. He ended up acing the NPTE because he was able to change his approach and mindset.

Coming out of PT school, Kyle was motived to be the best physical therapist he could be. He thought that becoming manual therapy certified and having a residency was what would make him successful and fulfilled. Then he realized as he was working as a travel physical therapist that it really wasn’t fulfilling for him. He knew he had to help students that struggled like he did to pass the NPTE and get the job of their dreams.

Kyle began by giving a high ticket value with our a high ticket price. From the first time he tutored someone to pass the NPTE to the development of his course, it took him almost 5 years. He says the difference between struggle and failure as mindset. The struggle is a blessing because that means you’re in a period of growth.

Topics we cover:

-Struggling with standardized testing

-Succeeding because of the struggle

-Why standardized tests are harder for some people

-The cutthroat nature of PT school

-Test taking strategies

-Following his true calling

-Providing value

-The difference between struggle and failure

-Automation to fuel growth

EP. 179 Expensive is a State of Mind08 Oct 202100:35:50

[video_player type="youtube" style="1" dimensions="560x315" width="560" height="315" align="center" margin_top="0" margin_bottom="20" ipad_color="black"]aHR0cHM6Ly95b3V0dS5iZS9LTUR1VktkTUdVUQ==[/video_player]

Our idea of what is expensive or what's affordable has been skewed by insurance companies. Starting a physical therapy practice or business is not expensive. It's not expensive if your goal is to help thousands or millions of people and you know what's possible.

It's been skewed by the fact that insurance companies are only going to pay $30 no matter what we do. What you really need to thing about is investing. If you aren’t getting long-term results or benefits from a job or program, then any price is expensive.

I hear a lot of people say they want to grow their business debt-free. Maybe in the past you've had bad experiences with credit cards probably because you haven't used them to invest in your business or yourself. You've used them to buy things that depreciate over time and you're still left paying for them.

Maybe you've had this experience in the past where you've bought something that didn't add value to your life it added status to your life, or it added nothing to your life. You need to spend money on things that are going to give a big return later so you can create systems to generate revenue.

Maybe you've been listening to Dave Ramsey telling you eat ramen noodles and pay off your student loans as fast as possible. That might be good advice for someone who just wants a job but if your goal is to run a business and help thousands of people, don’t listen to Dave Ramsey. If you're getting out of school and you have a big dream then your student loans are good debt. The knowledge you learned is not going to depreciate. The information you learned to earn the doctor in front of your name it not going away. It's not going to depreciate. The only depreciation of your education is if you stop working as a physical therapist and stop helping people.

My point here is the best investment you can make is in you. Expensive is a state of mind. Something isn’t expensive if you know you're going to take what someone shows you and tells you and take action on it. Put it into play and and never give up until you get it right. Expensive is when someone gives you an idea and you don't take action on it or it doesn't work the first time and you quit.

The difference between investments and expenses are investments are things that you spend money knowing that you're going to get a positive return.

With my program Income Impact Academy, we teach you how to sell your product before you create it. I don't want you building out an amazing course and spending a bunch of money on camera equipment and editing before you've even sold it. We should sell it and use the proceeds to make it even better. Sell it before you create it.

Would it be different if you knew you could make six-figures with your idea? Would it be different if you knew I could snap my fingers and all of a sudden you had a six-figure business? Could that change your perspective?

Don't let that negative self come and tell you it's not going to work until you actually even try. Maybe if you're doubting yourself it’s because you're not clear on your goals and your vision. Imposter syndrome could be setting in. You could be thinking, “Who am I to be able to help tons of people?” Well, who are you to not help tons of people?

There are some things that are just expensive and there are some things that are great investments, but most people who are just getting started in business have them mixed up.

Credit cards and debt are things you leverage to get what you want.

Student loans are not a burden. If your plan is to just be an employee, they can be a burden because you're not going...

Ep. 178 Patient Dropoff Rate is the Key to Your PT Practice Success with Vikram Sethuraman01 Oct 202100:44:56

On today’s episode of the podcast, I speak with Vikram Sethuraman. He is the Founder and CEO of PT Wired. PT Wired is a patient engagement solution that helps physical therapy clinics prevent patient drop-off, improve brand engagement, and boost internal marketing. Each practice receives a fully-branded mobile app available via iOS, Android, and Web that patients can download to access their Home Exercise Program with videos/notes/reminders, as well as engage with clinic marketing content. Therapists are able to customize patient prescriptions and marketing experiences through the provider portal.

As an athlete in college, Vikram felt his recovery was hindered by how he was given his at-home exercises from physical therapy. Receiving a list of exercises on a piece of paper left him thinking if there was an app that had videos of the exercises with the same cues he received from his PT while in office, then his recovery could be optimized. The North Carolina entrepreneurial community really helped foster his idea for starting PT Wired.

The initial discovery period Vikram took to understand the needs of the physical therapists was vital to his success. He knew he needed to understand their biggest problems to see if his solution would fit their needs. This is when he began to understand the cycle of patient adherence leading to patient retention.

“The probability of selling to an existing customer is 60 to 70 whereas a new customer is 5 to 20 percent”The top four reasons patients don’t complete their exercises at home are:

-Low social support

-Goal setting

-Restructuring misconceptions

-Postive affect

Wired PT gives physical therapists another avenue for marketing. The app can relieve stress on the front office by allowing scheduling and payments. Part of the marketing process for Wired PT is providing education on the robust features it provides but helping PTs understand it’s more than just videos of exercises.

Vikram offers unique insight into the patient-therapist relationship. You won’t want to miss this interview!

“Adherence is the Number One Indicator of Drop-off.”Topics we cover:

-The problem of patient drop-off in PT, including contributing factors

-Ways to get patients to discharge rather than dropout

-Innovative PT marketing strategies through an app

-Duke versus North Carolina basketball

-Physical Therapy from the patient’s side

-Making the switch to entrepreneurship while in college

Ep. 177 Top 10 Questions from Physical Therapy Students24 Sep 202100:17:00

On today’s episode of the podcast, I’m answering the top 10 questions Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPT) students have. My friends Sarah Falbo and Gabby Mace over at The GRADitude Podcast sent me these questions to answer.

I talk about my favorite books for business and how they have helped propel what I’m doing, like Guerrilla Marketing Jay Conrad Levinson and Dot Com Secrets by Russell Brunson. We also get into the benefit I get from ClickFunnels and how the cost is relative to the return on investment. Sometimes as business owners, we fret over these types of small costs which are really just the cost of doing business!

I share my experience with failure and how it has to be part of the plan, if you expect to do big things. Failure sets you up for future success because it gives you the insight into what people actually want! And that’s how you sell. You have to be willing to change course and change yourself to get anywhere.

We also talk about the Freedom Paradox and how freedom can be found through structure. This is one of the most important things that helps keep me and track and helps me find my focus. This is how to get shit does and see things through. Creating a flexible morning routine helps me set myself up for success the rest of the day.

Topics I cover:

-Living the life you want, not what someone else wants for you

-Recommended books

-How to get focused when you’re unfocused

-What I wish I would have done differently

-How failure is part of the plan

-Bad recommendations I hear

Knowing the difference between what trends fit your goals is the key to between staying current and getting bogged down in things you didn’t want to do in the first place.

Over time, social media platforms change what kind of content they reward and what the are more likely to put on people’s feeds. We talk about the necessity of staying current with the trends and trying new things to see how they work for your business.

“You need to produce as much free content on as many platforms as possible.”

As we move through 2021, Erson and I discussion what we see as the future of practicing physical therapy. Insurance companies are paying less and less, so is a cash practice the way forward for independent physical therapist? What happened to all the PTs that didn’t have an online presence. Let us know if you agree with our answers!

Join me today as I discuss an inevitable topic, losing an employee!  What do you do when an employee gives their two week notice? The pandemic has been tough, and even though 2020 is over, some of the problems are persisting! This is how I felt when one of my employees gave their two-week notice shortly after PT BizCon in January.

So, what did I do? Did I panic? Celebrate? Mourn? Stop everything?

No.

How you handle it determines what happens next.

Thankfully, I had systems in place that allowed me to find the right replacement quickly and get them started in their new roll seamlessly. I had an established hiring funnel the was easy to set into action. I also have systems run my business, and then employees run the systems.

Do you have your business and systems set up for someone else to step in? Your business can’t grow if you're busy putting out fires. Build a business that can run without you.

There is never a perfect time for an employee to lose an employee. You always want to be in a position to hire slow, fire fast. It could take 6 moths to find the right person. Don’t hold on to people because they could sabotage your business. You don’t want an employee who will only work when told what to do. Look for someone who is self-motivated, can create work, and solve problems.

You never expect to fire someone, but it’s important to get the right people in the right seat.

When hiring and periodically assessing your staff, ask the following questions: Do they...

...understand roles of the position?

...want the job?

...have the capacity to do the job (skills, personality, drive)?

Being an entrepreneur is hard. It's never going to be easy, it's just going to present new challenges. The day you quit is the day you lose, so just don't quit on yourself.

Your unique ability is that you can solve problems and think outside the box. Sometimes you just need a little help seeing from a different perspective. That’s what coaches do. That’s what mastermind groups do.

You're always going to encounter problems. You're always going to encounter things like employees quitting or leaving or needing to fire someone. You just have to get used to it because it's part of the game. Get some support. My coaching programs and my coach were two of the biggest factors in helping me.

There's nothing more I love than helping people succeed where they thought it wasn't possible.

I just want you to understand this is part of the process. Learn to enjoy the challenge. It's something that's going to help you grow as a person, as a leader, and as someone that's going to help a ton of people. If you want to work with us to grow and scale your business, your time, your income, your impact, just DM me “ALL IN”. We’ll get you scheduled for a FREE breakthrough strategy call. If you're a good fit and you qualify, we’ll get started right away.

There is a certain resistance in the physical therapy space to treat women, especially pregnant women who are going through a lot of physical changes in their bodies. Contributing to half of the population PTs are seeing in their clinic, it has become a wonder why women's health as a whole is perceived as uncomfortable for some. Beth Shelly, one of the pioneers in pelvic health physical therapy, found her calling in this area. She joins host, Aaron LeBauer, to help us have a deeper understanding of women's and pelvic health and the changes she has seen around it in the last couple of years since she's been practicing. Helping PTs overcome sensitive topics that are part of the pelvic PT practice, Beth shows some exercise on using words and images to explain sexual health to patients properly. Ep 171: Thrive As A Physical Therapist Without Actually Treating Patients With Meredith Castin19 Mar 202100:50:10

The thought of moving into clinic director roles may be exciting until you've finally settled into your job, only to be given one big task over the next. Now, people are not only expecting you to do patient care but also to become a stellar manager while at it. So how can you properly do your managerial duties when you're too busy meeting patients? Meredith Castin of The Non-Clinical PT saw the struggles many physical therapists with positions face under these traditional growth pathways in PT. As the owner and founder of the #1 resource for physical, occupational, and speech therapy professionals launching non-clinical careers in healthcare, she shows us the way we can continue to thrive in our professions without actually treating patients. Meredith then talks about the burnout that comes with growing in the career, the problem with not getting more recognition and pay in the industry, and what she is doing to help people transition to non-clinical career paths.

Chris Johnson joins Aaron LeBauer to discuss some of the specific challenges he has encountered along this journey. Together, they discuss the challenge of translating high-level information into something more accessible for the masses; the difficulty of putting a pin on what physical therapy actually means; the challenge of putting out content online; and more. There is a lot of good information to pick up from this conversation. Stick around.

All PTs are going to resonate with this. This time, Aaron LeBauer tackles something that you may have asked yourself before: how do you master your schedule so that you can have more time for your family, for yourself and for growing your PT business as opposed to just managing it? There is probably no one that’s more qualified to talk about this than Greg Todd, one of the world’s top healthcare business coaches. Just when we think we’re being rejected, we’re actually being redirected. That couldn’t be more true in the case of Dr. Mike Chua, an immigrant PT, DPT who suffered a series of rejections in the pursuit of the elusive green card. Just when he thought a promotion could up his chances of approval, it became another bout of rejection that made him want to give it all up. But, it’s also true that the universe is kind to persistent dreamers. A nudge to a different career paved the way to his approval. It also launched him to a successful venture - helping healthcare professionals find an alternative career to boost their profits. How do you know which alternative career is a good fit for you? The answer is simple - find your passion!

“Taking care of people was natural for me.”

-     Dr. Mike Chua

Ep 156: EMR's Suck with Ray Berardinelli05 Nov 202000:58:27

Ray Berardinelli is joining Aaron today to rally his mantra that EMR’s suck - and it actually does! He’s been in the PT business for 15 years and has founded two medical technology innovations that have changed the way we operate PT practice. Aetas and SelfDocAIMR are automation software designed to help you work more efficiently, secure more repeat clients, provide all-in-one clinical service, and so much more! Wouldn’t it be nice if you found a business partner that does the bulk of the tasks for you, takes care of your clients, and pays attention to their needs with sheer dedication? Not only will you have more time for personal things that equally matter, but you’ll also save yourself and your customers all the unnecessary headaches!

“In a world of instant gratification, do a little work to reset your patients’ minds. Look for opportunities in inefficiencies and build stronger relationships.”

- Ray Berardinelli
