'I was stalked by Hollywood papparazzi & I still don't know why': Jordy recounts being papped on the streets of LA19 Jun 202500:51:51

The Project has been axed and in a cruel twist, the hosts & crew must show up on the desk till June 27th. Jordy relives a similar experience of having to shoot for 6 weeks at Neighbours, knowing she was being written out... AWKWARD.

Alex sheds a tear for her former workplace before we reminisce on some of the more memorable moments from The Projects' 16 years on our screens.

We've got an update on Jojo Siwa and Chris Hughes' relationship and it appears as though Jordy may have to eat her words. Is this relationship real or a PR stunt?

Jordy recounts the time she was hounded by papparazzi in Hollywood and we've unearthed the footage, thanks to Getty. Exactly why the paps were stalking her on the streets of LA is still a mystery.

Finally, as if beef with Lizzo wasn't enough, Alex' feathers have been ruffled after content thieves refused to credit (AND TAG) her as their source. The lesson to be learned is, don't listen to other pods for showbiz news, just come straight to us.

EX-MAFS producer gives contestants a reality check: if you've got trauma, don't sign the contract!25 Feb 202500:32:11

This week on TSB, Alex and Jordy have intel straight from Neighbours HQ, after the show was axed...again. Is this REALLY the end for Australia's longest running soap? Only time will tell...

Alex addresses the theme song controversy of HBO's "White Lotus" and Jordy critiques wellness influencers, after watching Apple Cider Vinegar on Netflix.

The debate continues as to whether SNL is funny, and for some reason, Jordy has been WRONGLY ACCUSED of supporting MAGA. After clearing that up, she throws herself right back in the sh*tter by admitting she loves Big Bang Theory.

The ep ends with our weekly LOL at MAFS contestants and a whinge about the stupid comments we read on social media. Moral of the story? If you've got trauma, DO NOT ENTER SKYE SUITES!!!

Accidental celeb encounters + what REALLY happened in the MAFS editing suite14 Feb 202500:32:55

Ever had a celebrity encounter but not realised till after the fact? You won't believe who was in Alex' F45 class this week...

We discuss the infamous photo ranking challenge on MAFS and why Jordy believes that sometimes telling a lie is better than the truth. Alex reveals what really happens in the editing suites when post-producing episodes containing sensitive subjects and which contestant put the whole team of producers 'off' with his off remarks when it comes to ethnicity.

An interview with a Brisbane radio show has us reminiscing about "Couch time", which was, according to some, TV's lowest point, but that doesn't stop us from flogging the dead horse and pitching a reboot.

Of course, we can't end the ep without a LOL at the last week of MAFS, the batch!t contestants and the Reddit live thread that is possibly more entertaining than the first two combined.

A former MAFS 'villain' slid into Alex' DM's & why we still call BS on 'bad edits'03 Feb 202500:35:50

In a delightful turn of events, Alex went viral last week after sharing her online dating history with Tim, the front runner for MAFS #1 villain in 2025. Keen to be known as more than just one of Tim's bitches, Alex reminded the internet that she's also an ex- post-producer WITH a podcast - and boy, did the people flock?!

We share (with permission) war stories sent in from women who have had the displeasure of encountering Tim, and Alex drops a bomb that Katie may not be as innocent as she appears.

Then, as promised, Jordy puts Alex in the hot seat and demands answers to a handful of the BTS questions we received throughout the week:

  • Honeymoons: Who goes where and when?
  • How many of the cast are approached in real life/social media?
  • Is it true that the chaotic dinner parties take less time to film?
  • Are the contestants contracted to attend dinner parties etc.?
  • Who has had the best/worst edit and why?

Stay tuned for our next episode where we'll be delving deeper into the ethics (or lackthereofof) surrounding reality TV at large.

The Accidental Hiatus Explained- Plus Justin Baldoni V Blake Lively & MAFS!28 Jan 202500:38:53

WE'RE BAAAAAAAAAAACK! And it seems we have some explaining to do...We know we kind of fell off the face of the earth at the end of last year, but hear us out okay? We had good reason! Or at least that's what we're telling ourselves.

We then get straight back on our bullshit, playing a good old fashion game of "Who's the Arsehole?" in the Justin Baldoni/Blake Lively/Ryan Reynolds saga. Is Ryan Reynolds a manic control freak? Will the case make it to court? Or will Justin Baldoni accept a healthy cheque and never speak of the matter again? Only time will tell...

Discussion turns to the devastating Los Angeles fires and the disturbing #EatTheRich mentality existing online, or perhaps not-so-rich when it comes to Spencer & Heidi Pratt.

We then discuss the Jerry Springer doco on Netflix, which explores the ethics (or lackthereof) involved in producing the landmark 90's talk show. We ask the big question: "Can you have a successful TV show that is both wholesome AND outrageous?" Alex also reveals some MAFS BTS juice on how a change in production and staff lead to a shift in tone (and overall success) of the show.

At this point, we're both a glass of Rose deep, but we vow to pause recording, watch the MAFS premiere & come back to debrief.

Listen to our unfiltered and slightly delirious take on the new batch of contestants who are clearly all there for the RIGHT REASONS and not to become influencers.

  • HORSES (duh)
  • Harry Styles' performance & connection with Daryl

Rove McManus brings iconic showbiz nostalgia...we bring the chaos15 Oct 202401:10:33

Rove McManus is a true icon of Australian television. From 1999-2009, he was part millions of living rooms around the country. We'd all we all tune in to Rove Live to laugh, watch the biggest celebrity interviews & of course, get our weekly dose of "WHAT THE?!".

Years later, Rove is still the much loved Aussie icon he always has been, and in a stunning turn of events, he said YES to coming on our pod!

So there we were, sitting across from television royalty, trying to tame our inner chaos.

Don't worry, we came prepared and made sure we asked ALL the questions you'd want the answers to. Rove gives us a candid recount of how he built the show from the ground up, never before heard behind the scenes stories & the evolution of "What The?!"

Hear how he made the choice to end the show on his terms, his move to LA & why he is passionate about mentoring new talent.

Reality TV contestants are signing their rights away...& then complaining about having no rights18 Sep 202400:55:01

This week on TSB we hit the ground running with "The Block" drama, where former contestant Paige has made allegations about manipulative production practices. Because, you know, reality TV is always 100% real and unmanipulated, right? Alex gives her 2 cents as a former post-production producer & vows to get some inside goss from her mates at Channel 9, STAY TUNED!

The conversation then shifts to musician Dave Grohl, who recently revealed he has a daughter from an extramarital affair *CLUTCHES PEARLS*. It seems his reputation as "one of the good guys" in rock n roll might not be so accurate after all.

We then welcome this weeks guest, Aussie medium Jessica Lynn, who talks about having a profile in the media, celebrity readings & portrayals of psychic mediums in film and TV.

"I won't be treated like a second class citizen!" 11 Sep 202400:37:59

We recount our oh-so-glamorous experience at the Chemist Warehouse brand showcase, where we were treated like second class citezens in favour of influencers and reality TV contestants. Because who doesn't love feeling like a nobody next to someone who gets paid to post selfies? Alex was irate but Jordy resigned herself to this reality of showbiz long ago...

Tom Gleeson responded to our snarky video exposing him as a liar, but Jordy still isn't convinced he'll come on the pod.

We discuss the Oasis reunion, an infamous spat between 2 Neighbours cast members & question whether we'll ever know the truth about Harry & Meghan.

Jordy has been watching Netflix doco Popstar Academy, and recounts the time she was almost in a movie musical about a girlband titled, "The Chickabees". Spoiler alert: the movie never received funding, so naturally we're starting a campaign to get it off the ground!

Can we hit pause on expecting celebrities to save the world?23 Aug 202400:31:12

Larry Emdur won the Gold Logie and we don't mean to brag, but we called it. From Rebecca Gibney's son to Raygun's cameo appearance, we recap Australian television's night of nights and Alex reminds us again that she's worked with most of the Gold nominees.

We also expose Tom Gleeson for lies he spun to Alex' Dad...yes, you read that right, listen for context...

We do a deep dive into the drama surrounding Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's film adaptation of "It Ends With Us." Power dynamics and claims of fat-shaming in showbiz? Shocking, we know.

While celebs and their bad behaviour might once have been protected, it seems the tide is turning. While we don't expect them to be puretins, can we hit pause on expecting celebs to save the world?

Lizzo responded to Alex, but is she gaslighting us?!22 May 202500:50:22

Jordy & Alex have secured tickets for the Usher concert and delve into potential controversies surrounding him. Are his live shows one giant freak off? Will he be cancelled before landing in Australia and most importantly...WHERE THE HELL IS HIS WIFE?!?!

Alex has found herself in an online stoush with none other than Lizzo herself & we're conviced she's gaslighting us?! Hear the flashback tale that started it all PLUS behind the scenes tea from Lizzo's appearance on The Project and THAT photoshoot in Channel 10.

We talk about why it's RIDIC to defend celebs online and why we've become completely descencitised to drama and trolling.

Following her online feud with Abbie Chatfield, Clementine Ford made the interesting choice to appear on Piers Morgan and it was nothing less than car crash viewing. We discuss the feminist rivalry between Abbie & Clementine and why we sometimes need to admit we are JEALOUS.

Content creator, Jamie Azzopardi is receiving backlash online after Australian Fashion Week and all we can say is the general public LOVE a pile on don't we?! Jordy shares her experience seeing Azzopardi at Melbourne Fashion Festival and the DM Jamie sent her that was really not cool.

As if Alex' week wasn't good enough, she gets to finish off the ep with a 'told you so' moment regarding MAFS contestants, Billy & Sierrah. Spoiler alert: Alex was, and always is right (according to us at least)

Forget glitz & glamour, we're exposing The Logies dirt the networks want buried16 Aug 202400:45:22

Strap yourselves in for 45 minutes of a mix of old & new Logies stories from Australian Televisions night of nights!

In this special Logies bumper episode we cover:

- The soap opera rivalry between "Home & Away" & "Neighbours", because nothing says high stakes like fictional beach towns and suburban drama.

- Alex's awkward red carpet interview with a mystery actress

- Logies after-parties: where the real entertainment begins

-How Seal (the singer, not the marine mammal) almost got Jordy sued

- Our Gold Logie predictions, which was basically a chance for Alex to name-drop celebrity pals & old colleagues, while pretending she has any interest at all in who wins.

TV's cultural reckoning is here & it's a good time to be alive (& have a microphone)14 Aug 202400:50:35

In our biggest (literally, our longest) episode yet, we dive headfirst into the Breaker that stole the Olympics, Raygun. From the murky qualification process to the absurd dance moves, it all just feels a little off for us. But somehow the Australian Olympic Committee is trying to convince us that WE are the arseholes.

Speaking of arseholes, Alex has been trolled in the comments on the Daily Mail & of course Jordy performs a dramatic reading (any chance to practice her craft right?) We discuss Sam Armytage's surprise endorsement of our pod, but then come to the conclusion that we're actually not surprised at all. Classic us...

We add to the dumpster fire that is Channel 7 when ex-reporter Talitha Cummins drops by. Talitha shares how the pressures of showbiz contributed to her alcoholism & why she walked away from the industry (but not in too much detail, because, NDA). It was delightful to hear how Talitha has rediscovered herself & a passion in the diamond industry.

We touch on the 4 Corners report on Channel 7's heinous culture & though we both felt deeply confronted, we weren't in the slightest bit surprised.

Stay tuned as we keep waving the flag for better treatment and a deep clean of the industry. We'll be sharing more of our own juicy stories, and calling on YOU to share yours. DM us @thatsshowbizbaby.pod or email showbiz@itsallher.com

A mortifying email from Sam Armytage & the legalities of the Cash Cow: Alex spills about her time on Sunrise07 Aug 202400:34:08

LI

We're BACK BABY! After a short production break, we're out of Jordy's study & IN STUDIO!

Alex gives us the rundown from her first audition, which of course Jordy insisted on chaperoning her to/from & documenting for content. Will Alex become the face of a national brand? Will she create a Starnow profile? Only time will tell...

In Aussie media news, Sam Armytage announced her departure from Channel 7 after 21 years on Instagram last week.

Fans (& friends) of TSB will know Alex once worked as a digital producer on Sunrise, so we decided to open up the (breakfast TV shaped) can of worms & spill the tea on what is the biggest pressure cooker in showbiz.

Alex reveals just how stressful live television can be, the 'mortifying' email she once received from Sam Armytage herself & the strict legalities around the infamous Cash Cow.

Lastly, we question if viewers still want 'polished' presenters & higher production value when it comes to free-to-air TV. We'd love to hear your thoughts, but don't slide into our DMs just to tell us you don't watch TV at all, okay?

The phallic fan gift that left Phil Burton speechless & inside the group chat of Human Nature16 Jul 202400:43:28
Jordy lost 1 hour & 54 minutes of her life watching "A Family Affair," and is spoiling the entire plot in an unhinged rage so you don't have to. Alex also recommends a brilliant Aussie 'dramady' that's second season is near perfect, much like the first.

Phil Burton (1/4 of iconic boyband Human Nature) is our FIRST EVER GUEST and is it obvious that neither of us have any cool about the situation?

We explore the evolution of Human Nature’s style, both musical & physical: from goatees to bleached tips, the latex uniforms to double denim,  and finally to their iconic Motown phase.

Phil spills the tea on the strangest gift he's received from a fan, the reality of maintaining a Vegas show for over 11 years & why he chose to walk away from it all.

Was he banished from the Human Nature WhatsApp (yes they have a group WhatsApp!) after moving back to Australia? You'll have to listen to find out, and don't tell us we don't ask the big questions here at TSB!

Shifting gears, we dive into the gritty realities of unpaid work in the entertainment world, focusing on the physical and emotional hardships faced by the women in the new Netflix docu-series, America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. We discuss the thankless expectations and question how much we'd want to be paid to give an organisation ownership of our bodies.

Alex shares why her Dad placed a ban on her dressing up as the CashCow on Sunrise & Jordy teases the scams actors are warned about when moving to Hollywood.

Exposing holy cheaters & the psychology of dating your co-star(s)25 Jun 202400:29:28
We kick off this episode by dissecting the absurdity and moral complexities of the Ashley Madison documentary on Netflix. From the outrageous hypocrisy of born-again preachers to the uncomfortable ethical questions about the hackers who turned lives upside down.

Alex has been listening to "The Vial Files". A podcast hosted by former Bachelor star Nick Vial, who brings his unique brand of relationship advice and personal growth tales to the table.

We then explore the dynamics of high-profile relationships and hear our listeners thoughts on why showbiz romances often end in heartbreak.

One message strikes a chord with Jordy, which leads her to question the 'fraternising' she took part in all those years ago.

Check me before you misrepresent me: setting the record straight14 Jun 202400:25:27
After being hilariously misrepresented by a certain media outlet & labelled a "disgruntled former Neighbours star", Jordy sets the record straight.

Alex reads out comments from Jordy's trolls, which leads us to the weird nature of parasocial relationships. Jordy thinks we're all on the same page until Alex reveals herself as a superfan that has no qualms sliding into celebrity's DM's.

We aren't the only ones who've had it rough in the news this week. Kyle Sandilands threw Delta Goodrem under the bus on his radio show & of course the media were like moths to the flame.

As a self-proclaimed 'Pro-Delta podcast', we share why we won't hear a bad word about our Queen. From Alex wrangling a Delta superfan on the Red Carpet at The Logies, to the time Jordy was INSIDE her Hollywood Mansion. You won't believe what went down...

Our hot tips for Chrishell Stause as she heads to Ramsay St04 Jun 202400:37:10
Jordy has stumbled across WikiFeet, where she found a feed dedicated to her very own hoofs. Meanwhile, Alex is already monetising hers, which leads us to the brilliant idea of starting a fan-funded Patreon for all our beauty treatments. (Not sure if we're joking or serious on this one, stay tuned)

We also received some victim impact statements regarding the most troublesome Neighbours fan in history. Spoiler alert: The Police were called in.

Then from navigating the hierachy of the carpark to where to get the best coffee, Jordy gives Chrishell Stause some advice as she heads to Ramsay St.

Finally, Alex has taken it upon herself to ask a Neighbours writer to give Jordy her job back and of course, makes her sit through a live reading of the exchange. Is there a chance of a Summer Hoyland return? Listen to find out...

This isn't the feminism Olympics! How the media is distracting us from the bigger issue at play...21 May 202400:28:29
Alex got all fancy for her birthday, heading to GOLD CLASS to watch Zendaya's flick, "Challengers", only to find it missing that secret spice.

Jordy watched Fiona Harvey (aka 'Martha' from "Baby Reindeer") on Piers Morgan and was left questioning whether interviewing a clearly unwell woman was ethical. This then leads us to exploring exactly WHO deserves a right of reply in the media and when someone needs to be 'de-platformed'.  We'd love to hear your thoughts on this one!

A recent debacle between Australian podcasters regarding a certain 'dude' from this years season of MAFS is doing the rounds in the news cycle, but Jordy thinks the media have turned it into the feminism Olympics instead of focussing on the bigger issue, VIOLENT MEN!

Could the media ever come together to form guidelines for employing and platforming people with convictions? Alex puts her producer hat on and says NO!

Alex confronts Jordy about a rumoured 'on set romance' from back in the day & we read out some audience feedback.

Just like the inside of our minds, it's an episode of CHAOS, but it's a goody.

Fans behaving badly: stalkers, crazed manifestos & a pair of tight leather pants.10 May 202400:28:55
Diva tantrums & on set meltdowns are nothing new in the world of showbiz. It's an industry fraught with scandal, secrets & bad behaviour.

However some of the most outrageous antics come from not the celebrities or studio bigwigs, but the fans...

From cyberstalking to fan wars, a love of entertainment can bring out the worst in a person. And just like Martha from Baby Reindeer, some fans take it a few (okay, MANY) steps too far.

Jordy shares the creepiest fan mail she received while working at Neighbours, while Alex talks about managing fans as a social media producer.

Alex recalls the Lehrmann aftermath at The Project & her experience with the REAL Lisa Wilkinson22 Apr 202400:26:59
Did you know our very own Alexandria Funnell was the social media producer at The Project when Lisa Wilkinson broke the Bruce Lehrmann story?

We've been DYING to discuss this, but kind of wanted to avoid a defamation case 1 week into our podcast,  ya know? Well, last week the gavel came down on Bruce Lehrmann, and the floodgates opened for us to speak freely on exactly what we think of him – and speak we do!

Alex recounts the secrecy surrounding The Project's story on Lehrmann, recalling the nerves that gripped the legal team, and the fact checkers that were working hard for the money.

Jordy & Alex discuss the allegations that Channel 7 paid for drugs, sex workers and rent in Sydney in exchange for Lehmann's exclusive interview on Spotlight in 2023.

Anxiety at Tommy Little, Turkey Teeth & BTS Love Triangle tea09 May 202500:54:59

In this ep we recap our chaotic Titanic VR experience, which Alex was absolutely not mentally prepared for. You can't think Titanic without hearing "My Heart Will Go On", but unfortunately all Jordy hears is the years of butchered renditions from her days in singing comp circuts.

Tommy Littles' Comedy Festival Show left Jordy feeling nervy but Alex has bigger fish to fry after LITERALLY inserting herself into another comedian's show the night before.

Jordy feels vindicated after SNL have shown themselves to be as UNFUNNY as she accused them of being weeks ago #justiceforAmyLou. We then move on to questioning why so many people opt for the biggest, birghtest, whitest veneers. Or as we're now calling them, Turkey Teeth.

Alex has some major BTS tea from Love Triangle involving problematic ex-MAFS contestant, Kangaroo Mike, and offers him some sound advice for self improvement.

We finish off by losing any self respect we had left by literally BEGGING you to rate, review and subscribe to TSB. Seriously, pls. We're even giving away 1 x $120 Stan voucher to the best review we receive from now till September 30th 2025.

Reality TV contestants are a vicious cycle of unawareness07 Apr 202500:46:17

Hear about Jordy's dramatic last day on "Neighbours", and how a few chance encounters kept these two agents of chaos in touch over the years.

We somehow get into discussions about cruises, pondering the age-old question: Is it a vacation or just a floating buffet with a side of seasickness? Meanwhile, our quest to snag high-profile guests like Tom Gleeson and Dave Hughes for the podcast continues. Jordy thinks it's a lost cause, Alex still has hope.

Jordy reveals she 'got in trouble' for commenting to the Daily Mail in what could have been the pettyist display from a talent manager EVER.

Commentary on reality TV relationships and breakups ensues with Jordy thinking it is utterly BIZARRE for couples to be collaborating on a social media break up post.

We analyse manipulative behaviors in relationships, particulary those we've seen in the last few weeks of MAFS,

Finally, Alex shares her advice & encourages a healthy dose of self-awareness and reflection for potential reality show contestants.

Alex recalls the time she became 'possessed' & can MAFS contestants kindly exit Cameo?30 Mar 202500:53:27
Strap yourselves in showbiz babies, because we go places in this ep.

Highlights include:

  • We discuss the reality of being a child star after Jordy watched the Ruby Franke doco on Disney plus. We delve into the psychological impact of child stardom, touching on the struggles faced by young actors like Justin Bieber. Would you let your child pursue fame at the cost of their childhood?

  • Reality TV Dynamics: We analyze the legitimacy of relationships on reality shows and the motivations behind contestants' actions. Alex has also been approached by a Tiktoker asking for advice about going on MAFS.

  • Is Cameo unethical? We debate on the ethics of charging fans for personalized messages and the exploitation of vulnerable fans. Jordy shares her attempt to get a cameo from Amanda Bynes and the end result was...uncomfortable viewing.

The big MAFS fallout Alex saw coming...25 Mar 202500:49:57

To merch or not to merch? That is the question of the day...Jordy refuses to produce cheap "tat" that will end up as landfill, while Alex is planning a TEMU order as we speak.

Doing things 'on the cheap' is just one of the criticisms being hurled at former MAFS contestant, Ella May Ding at present, so naturally we dissect her rise through reality TV and why we should all be rejecting hustle culture. #girlboss

It's been reported that 2025 contestant, Carina has spent around $27,000 on hair, makeup and outfits for the season. Is this a smart career investment or a diva moment? Because we respect both tbh. Do you think Channel 9/Endemol should have to foot the bill for the contestants to appear a certain way?

Jordy and Alex discuss the premiere of 'Sam Pang Tonight' and throwback to comments made by Rove on the pod last year about the future of live TV in Australia.

We reminisce on iconic Australian TVCs, where the actors are now and if they're receiving royalties. Jordy shares her experience working on ads as a younger actor and whether she'd ever get back into the game today.

Alex matched with Tim from MAFS (AGAIN!) & has a HUGE spoiler involving Paul & Carina14 Mar 202500:52:09

This week, Alex reveals her long standing (one-sided) rivalry with Seb Costello. The news comes after the Channel Nine reporter received backlash for chasing a disgraced businessman into a women's restroom and ultimately, leaving the network. Despite starting heavy on Costello chat, this is not an endorsement for the Costello Family.

Jordy shares how she embarrassed herself in front of ex-Matilda's goal keeper, Lydia Williams this week at an IWD event, WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE INFLUENCER INJURIES?!

We highlight the double standards in media, particularly regarding figures like Ben Cousins, who continue to receive platforms despite past violent behavior. Whereas all Meghan Markle has to do is make a rainbow fruit platter and the entire internet is up in arms.

Alex has matched with Tim from MAFS...AGAIN! Our trusty ex-post producer also delivers a MASSIVE spoiler involving Paul & Carina.

We finish off with our take on the so-called legal case against Endemol & Channel 9 and question who we can really trust in this whole fiasco.

Just like COVID, MAFS will adapt & continue to infect the population07 Mar 202500:36:52

CONTENT WARNING: This episode discusses domestic violence & addiction

Would you humiliate your partner for $500? This is the ethical dilemma Jordy was faced with this week and, of course, needs to discuss with the class. Alex reminds us that humiliation is a kink for some and she's got the (literal) receipts to prove it.

We discuss the enabling behaviors surrounding celebrities, after Jordy watched 'Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy' on Stan. Just where is the balance of personal responsibility and the industry's role in supporting struggling celebrities? Can we blame producers for doing everything in their power to appease talent? Or do celebs need to take more accountability?

Speaking of accountability, Alex shares her thoughts on who may have been responsible for Adrian getting on MAFS, despite being historically accused of DV. We speculate on how the show will change in 2026 in response to public outcry and online criticism...oh, and an ongoing police investigation after Paul punched a hole in a wall.

But just like COVID, we know that MAFS will adapt and mutate into a stronger variant that will continue to infect the population.
