| Meet the Makers: Brendan Conway | 12 Sep 2019 | 00:38:21 | |
One more interview before we return to our actual-play recordings. Recorded live on the GenCon floor we got to chat with Brendan Conway. He's one of the co-owners of Magpie Games as well as their production manager and designer behind Masks, Zombie World, the upcoming Root: The Tabletop RPG, and the newly announced Armored Society! Over the next half hour we talk the past with Masks, how it came to be and where it's going next, the present with Root: The Tabletop RPG, what to expect next week when we play the game to support their Kickstarter, and the future with Armored Society, where we both nerd out about Irish folklore and get very excited about the story possibilities using a brand new system being developed by Magpie Games. Find out more about all of these games at https://www.magpiegames.com Terrible Warriors is made possible thanks to Patreon supporters at Patreon.com/terriblewarriors Follow us on Twitter @dicewarriors and and join us this summer every other Saturday on Twitch.tv as we play through Shadowrun in the second season of the Cambridge Chronicles at twitch.tv/terriblewarriors/ You can can book Justin today to run your game at the Storm Crow Manor in Toronto, Ontario by visiting DMDineTO.com | |||

| Meet the Makers: James Mendez Hodes | 06 Aug 2019 | 00:26:13 | |
This summer we’re taking time away from playing our games to meet the people who make our games and lead our communities. Who is James Mendez Hodes? He’s the kind of person where, if you’re in a hallway of game designers and community leaders, he’s the one they say you should talk to right now and record the entire conversation. Mendez (he/him) is a game designer, martial artist, cultural consultant, professional game master, writer, editor, and poet whom you might know from role-playing games such as 7th Sea, Scion, and Thousand Arrows; or from essays like “Orcs, Britons, and the Martial Race Myth” and “May I play a character from another race?” He has an academic background in West African religion, Eastern classics, dance, and English literature. His interests include hip hop, weird invertebrates, and collecting stuffed animals. He lives in the greater New York metropolitan area on traditional Lenape land. He runs games, he writes games, he writes about running games.
