Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton have made their way through to setting up a highly anticipated US Open rematch in the 3rd round after their comfortable wins in the round of 64. Meanwhile, top seeds Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner safely progress, with Djokovic clocking up yet another milestone with 90 match wins now achieved at each of the 4 Grand Slams. 

With Wimbledon Champion Barbora Krejickova ousted by Elena-Gabriela Ruse, and Karolina Pliskova retiring after 3 points against Jasmine Paolini, it hasn’t been the best of days for the Czech ladies. Harriet Dart and Katie Boulter also bow out, leaving no British women in the third round.

Wimbledon Ladies Singles Final Day at Wimbledon 2024 which saw Barbora Krejcikova pick up her second Grand Slam singles title, conquering the grass of SW19. With a gritty three set win over rising Italian star Jasmine Paolini, Krejcikova became the 5th Czech women’s Wimbledon Champion in history and the seventh first time winner of the Venus Rosewater dish in a row.

Britain’s Henry Patten also clinched the Men’s doubles title with his Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara in dramatic fashion, saving Championships points to win in a Championship tiebreak. Whilst Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova took home the Ladies doubles title with a closely fought victory on a late night on Centre Court.

Kim and Chris also look ahead to tomorrow’s Men’s Singles final action - a repeat of the 2023 Final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.

The Wimbledon Draw is out!

Fresh off the back of a trip to The Boodles earlier in the week, Kim and Chris dust off their Wimbledon tents, get their strawberries out and sink their Pimms-stained teeth into the 2023 Wimbledon Singles draws, looking at projected quarter final match ups, top seeds’ pathways and first round highlight matches.

We’ve reached the semi finals stage in Paris with Kim and Chris at Tennis Weekly HQ to chat over the last few days of Parisian action.

And there we have it... Novak Djokovic versus Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon once again is ON! Joel and Kim catch up on the Men’s Singles semi finals which saw both Carlitos and Djokovic make their way through to set up a repeat of last year’s thrilling Final.

Novak Djokovic has defied the skeptics and reached his 6th consecutive Wimbledon Final just weeks after knee surgery, dispatching first time semi finalist Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets. Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Carlos Alcaraz sent Daniil Medvedev packing, coming from a set down yet again and demonstrating some liberating tennis en route to the Final.

Britain’s Alfie Hewett is also through to both the singles and doubles wheelchair finals, and Joel and Kim make their final predictions for the ladies singles final between Barbora Krejickova and Jasmine Paolini tomorrow.

Joel and Chris are back to round off Tennis Weekly’s coverage of the Madrid Open. It’s been an eventful finals weekend with home favourite Carlos Alcaraz defending his title and Sabalenka upsetting Swiatek in three sets. Grand Slam winners Andy Murray and Sloane Stephens dropped down from the main tour to pick up titles and Emma Raducanu underwent two of her three scheduled surgeries on her road to becoming injury free.

It’s also been a week of birthday celebrations on tour and a story of three varying sizes of cake opening up the conversation on gender equality whilst tournament Director Feliciano Lopez did his best to close down any speech from the women’s doubles finalists.

It's women’s semi-finals day at Wimbledon! And what a treat it was served up on Centre Court as Donna Vekic and Jasmine Paolini played the longest women’s semi in Wimbledon history, and Barbora Krejcikova knocked out 2022 Champion Elena Rybakina.

Jasmine Paolini won a titanic tussle with Donna Vekic in a final set tie break to make her second straight Slam final, whilst Barbora Krejcikova will be looking to add a grass court slam to her Roland Garros trophy from 2021.

They also look ahead to tomorrow’s men’s semi final action and predict whether we are likely to see another Djokovic vs. Alcaraz final set up.

Tennis is back! And so are Joel, Kim and Chris who get their teeth into what's in store for the 2023 tennis season, which has already seen a handful of tournament Champions being crowned and a lot of off-season chat to excite the tennis world.

With Team USA winning the inaugural United Cup and Coco Gauff claiming the title in Auckland, the year has started well for US prospects. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic returns to Australia triumphant in Adelaide and Aryna Sabalenka takes her first tournament victory in almost two years.

The dream Wimbledon semi-final of Sinner vs Alcaraz is OFF. Jannik Sinner was struck down by sickness but battled on to lose a tightly fought 5 setter against iron man Daniil Medvedev. Medvedev winning another 5 setter and reversing the Australian Open result that left him heartbroken in January. He will face Carlos Alcaraz who just keeps getting better and better. He hit scary heights of form in his 4 set victory over Tommy Paul and the defending Champion is looking like the one to beat at Wimbledon.

In the women’s draw the sun set on Lulu Sun’s dream run at the hands of experienced grass courter Donna Vekic. She will face French open Finalist Jasmine Paolini in the first semi-final who demolished Emma Navarro with the loss of just three games. Will Paolini go one better at Wimbledon and win her first slam?
