---- About Tall Tale TV ----

Hi there! My name is Chris Herron and I'm an audiobook narrator. In 2015, I suffered from poor Type 1 diabetes control which lead me to become legally blind for almost a year. The doctors didn't give me much hope, predicting an 80% chance that I would never see again. But I refused to give up and changed my lifestyle drastically. Through sheer willpower (and an amazing eye surgeon) I beat the odds and regained my vision.

During that difficult time, I couldn't read or write, which was devastating as they had always been a source of comfort for me since childhood. However, my wife took me to the local library where she read out the titles of audiobooks to me. I selected some of my favorite books, such as the Disc World series, Name of the Wind, Harry Potter, and more, and the audiobooks brought these stories to life in a way I had never experienced before. They helped me through the darkest period of my life and I fell in love with audiobooks.

Once I regained my vision, I decided to pursue a career as an audiobook narrator instead of a writer. That's why I created Tall Tale TV, to support aspiring authors in the writing communities that I had grown to love before my ordeal. My goal was to help them promote their work by providing a promotional audio short story that showcases their writing skills to readers. They say the strongest form of advertising is word of mouth, so I offer a platform for readers to share these videos and help spread the word about these talented writers.

Please consider sharing these stories with your friends and family to support these amazing authors. Thank you!

"The Bells of the Abbey" - Fantasy Short Story - by Jason Burner21 Sep 202400:25:39
The Bells of the Abbey ep.731

Jason Burner has a degree in psychology from Purdue University. He chooses not to use his degree professionally out of a selfish desire for having both food and shelter at the same time. He enjoys watching YouTube videos on subjects from astronomy to history to economic principles, and he will admit that he occasionally slides down a rabbit hole of Tolkien lore from time to time. Thank you for setting aside the time to let him share his story with you.

"A Game of Balances" - Fantasy Short Story - by D. A. D'Amico05 Jun 202300:33:50
A Game of Balances ep.629

D. A. D'Amico exists solely in the nightmares of a giant squid currently traversing the Kuril–Kamchatka Trench under the crushing depths of the Pacific Ocean. As legend has it, the cephalopod inks its bizarre musings on the flanks of passing beaked whales, later to be read by bored dolphins seeking entertainment, and who, in turn, squeak these stories to oblivious marine biologists in exchange for tasty mackerel. Any errors in translation must be laid firmly at the feet of those who actually have feet. It is from these Humboldt beginnings that the author’s stories originate. He’s had nearly one hundred works published in venues such as Analog, Daily Science Fiction, and Shock Totem. He's a winner of L. Ron Hubbard's prestigious Writers of the Future award, volume XXVII, and collections of his work can be found on Amazon at: https://www.amazon.com/D-A-DAmico

"Epic Dinner Conversation" - Fantasy Short Story - by E. Kimball29 May 202300:24:24
Epic Dinner Conversation ep.627

A suburban family is not what it seems to be.  Or, perhaps, it's exactly what it seems to be.  That, ultimately, is a choice one can make.

E. Kimball has nothing to promote, he just likes telling silly stories. A few have even been published! But if you'd like an up-to-date list of his other works, you can visit http://www.theekimball.com/

Thank you!

Duties of the Wind ep.611

It helps to know what you're going to do with it before you steal it.

Dan Crawford wrote three novels in the Nineties which led to a lot of "Whatever became of this guy" posts online.  His short stories are often to be found in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, and his poems, alas, can be listened to on YouTube.

"Mechanistry 5" - Steampunk Short Story - by Chris Herron17 Mar 202300:13:32
Mechanistry 5 ep.610

Nalt has a surefire plan to graduate this time, nothing could possibly go wrong.

Mechanistry 5 was written to celebrate Tall Tale TV's 6th anniversary! My first-ever Episode featured Nalt and Master Stokes, and I try (somewhat unsuccessfully) to write a new story in the Mechanistry universe every year. It's a fun little measure to track my progress as a narrator and celebrate the occasion.

You can find the other episodes of Mechanistry here: https://talltaletv.com/?s=mechanistry

Thank you!

The Good, The Bad, and The Scaly ep.601

Carson just wants to go home to his beloved Carabelle, and he’s not going to let anything get in his way. Not even an eight foot, mind-controlling lizard with a grudge.

Nikki Blakely enjoys writing fiction of all shapes, sizes and genres from her home in the San Francisco Bay Area. By day she is a mild-mannered commercial loan underwriter, but by night (and on weekends) she is the creator of worlds, crafting stories that evoke smiles, tears, laughter, the occasional eye roll, and sometimes even a scream. Her work has appeared in Sundial Magazine, Bright Flash Literary Review,  Luna Station Quarterly, and in the following anthologies: Between the Covers, 72 Hours of Insanity V9 and Dim and Flaring Lamps. You can find her on Twitter - @nblakely99.

Thank you!
