231: Armageddon 2004 20 Year Anniversary Watch-Along!01 Dec 202401:44:13

It's absolute Armageddon as revisit a forgotten classic Fatal 4-Way featuring El Hombre Muerto on this month's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as they take the time-traveling hears back 20 years to December 2004 and a WWE Championship match featuring The Undertaker against JBL, Booker T, and in their only PPV battle, the legendary Eddie Guerrero. It might get overlooked as it took place during WWE's usual "dead month" of December, but that's exactly why we want to highlight this absolute banger of a Ruthless Aggression era classic. If you've never seen it or if you want to revisit, we'll give you the time stamp to watch it along with us, but as usual it'll be just as entertaining if you just want to listen. Along the way we'll discuss the amazing mini-match Eddie and Taker have, JBL's highly entertaining character work, forgotten names like Amy Weber and The Basham Brothers, Luther Reigns' Thanksgiving Dinner, Eddie and Booker coining Taker's new nickname, and the absolutely brutal run-in that totally derails this match from being an all-timer (spoiler: it's all Heidenreich's fault!). Plus we've got another jam-packed edition of Undertaker Sightings featuring an appearance calling University Of Texas football on ESPN, modeling soccer uniforms, a callback to a classic Undertaker match against Nunzio on a recent episode of NXT, and Alex opening a very cozy Christmas present from Travis. Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!

Today's episode is brought to you by "Reconstruction", the new full length album from Travis White! Stream Travis's new album of original tunes on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, or wherever you love to listen!

165 - WrestleMania 25/26 Watch-Along With Randy Turco09 Oct 202001:59:09

We celebrate the legendary streak with one of our legendary fans on this week's special edition of Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White as they are joined by fellow superfan and friend of the show Randy "Pokey's Little Dog" Turco as they provide an alternate running commentary for both Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels WrestleMania matches back to back to compare them. Randy joining us is a far better addition than Insufferable Fool Matt Striker, and as always we'll give you the timestamp on the WWE Network for you to watch along, but it's just as entertaining even if you don't watch the matches with us. You've heard Randy's Twitter comments on the show since nearly the beginning and we discuss many of the epic stories he's had since being one of The Undertaker's biggest fans including how Royal Rumble 2007 led to him meeting his wife (who even does a run-in on the show) and the eBay rivalry that Randy and Alex had over an Undertaker hat! Then we go in-depth on all the nuances of two of the greatest WrestleMania matches of all time as we discuss the many connections and callbacks in Taker and HBK's battles. Plus Randy points out a number of things we had never even noticed in these matches and you might not have either! It's a fun-filled conversation that makes you feel like you're right there with us in the living room having a PPV party like the old days. So cue up your WWE Network, turn the sound down, download, and Taker Easy!

The Undertaker goes for 21-0! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Traivs White on their journey through every PPV match of The Undertaker's career as he tries to honor the legacy of his mentor against the disrespectful CM Punk at WrestleMania 29. Yes, sadly, the inimitable Paul Bearer has passed away but his presence looms large over this emotional battle. It's also one of the last great matches of The Dead Man's career as the Straight-Edge Superstar proves to be a worthy foil. We'll cover every aspect of it here including our thoughts on the controversial use of Paul Bearer's memory as part of the storyline, The Undertaker's one-off appearance at the Raw 1000th episode, the huge ways CM Punk has grown as a performer since we last covered him on the show, Paul Heyman's cosplay as Paul Bearer, Kane's odd call with Halle Berry, the amazing performance by Living Colour, the nearfalls and huge spots that had us jumping out of our seats, and so much more as we discuss the final match of the legendary WrestleMania Streak. It’s the End Of An Era! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they cover the finale of The Undertaker/Triple H/Shawn Michaels tetralogy at WrestleMania 28 inside Hell In A Cell! It’s the rare final chapter that actually sticks the landing in epic, emotional fashion as The Undertaker fights to go 20-0 at the showcase of the immortals. Meanwhile, The Game and HBK try to do together what neither man could do alone in defeating The Dead Man at WrestleMania. Before we get to the incredibly dramatic match, we’ll cover all of the build including another amazing wordless promo, The Undertaker’s serial killer shack, the evolution of COO Triple H, how a simple phone call between Shawn and Triple H could have made things easier, the many different shoulder pats between these three men and their psychological importance, Metallica’s theme song for this match, the greatest near-fall of all tizime, and, of course, The Dead Man’s new haircut! 162 - WrestleMania XXVII18 Sep 202002:38:36

WrestleMania comes to Atlanta - and we were there live for it! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as we cover The Dead Man's show-stealing match with Triple H at WrestleMania 27. There ain't no grave that can hold The Dead Man's body down as he returns from being buried alive for an absolutely epic match that's also an essential piece of his four match series with Triple H and Shawn Michaels. We'll cover all of the incredible build including the "2 21 11" vignettes, the fantastic promo with no words between Taker and Triple H, the disappointing music edits on the WWE Network, HBK's central role in the build to the match, Metallica, Johnny Cash, and the many ways this match signaled the beginning of the "Last Outlaw" era for The Dead Man.

Not only that, we get the chance to talk about the entire WrestleMania weekend that took place right in our backyard! We reminisce about the trip of a lifetime including our hilarious encounters with the superstars outside the hotel, going to Axxess and the Hall Of Fame, meeting The Miz and Ted Dibiase, Alex's stolen souvenirs, weird t-shirt stories, and finishing the weekend at Abdullah The Butcher's House Of Ribs & Chinese Food! 161 - Bragging Rights 201011 Sep 202001:35:15

It's the end of the line for this era of The Undertaker as he gets Buried Alive - again! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they discuss The Dead Man's final match in a trilogy with his demented brother Kane at Bragging Rights 2010. The Devil's Favorite Demon and his father Paul Bearer continue their dominance over The Phenom by shoveling him six feet under. But why in the world are The Nexus there to help them out? We'll never really know the answer, but we'll talk about it anyway! Perhaps the even bigger story is the night before the match however as Mark Calaway sits in the audience for a UFC show and has an encounter with Brock Lesnar that set the wrestling and MMA worlds on fire. We'll cover all this plus Undertaker dragging Kane to hell, the blatant lies being told about the Bragging Rights PPV concept, more ridiculous hyperbole from Matt Striker, more Batman allusions, Paul Bearer and Kane's over-the-top promos, Undertaker throwing out fire and lightning, and so much more. Then we end the show by giving our Top 10 Undertaker matches of this era between 2004 and 2010! You can probably guess our number 1, but we had some surprising differences across our top tens. (Be sure to find the link on our social media pages to vote on your top ten of this era!) Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!

160 - Hell In A Cell 201004 Sep 202001:02:54

The Undertaker and Kane's sibling rivalry goes straight to hell! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they cover the Brothers Of Destruction heading inside the satanic structure where they first met 13 years ago for their first time ever Hell In A Cell match. But more important than that, the Father Of Destruction himself Paul Bearer returns to stick his urn into the middle of this family feud! After a six year absence, we were so excited to see The Undertaker's manager and Kane's father play a pivotal role in this match. Unfortunately, while you might think a Hell In A Cell match between the two men at the center for the very first Hell In A Cell would be epic, we'll discuss why this match felt like such a letdown. Along the way we'll also cover more awesome theatrical promos from Kane, a random Chris Masters appearance, Undertaker's eye rolls, Smackdown moving to SyFy, more commentary blunders from Matt Striker and Michael Cole, Favorite Prince songs, Tenet, Needtobreathe, Green Day, Taker figure collection updates, and more! Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!

159 - Night Of Champions 201028 Aug 202002:15:55

It's a No Holds Barred sibling rivalry on this week's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they awaken from their vegetative state to discuss The Undertaker facing Kane for the World Title at Night Of Champions 2010. It's the first in a trilogy of terror between the brothers of destruction as The Devil's Favorite Demon tries (and succeeds) to steal the spirit of The Phenom. We've heard the commentary team say it before but we've truly never seen The Undertaker like this as he struggles to regain the control of his powers of the dark side against his increasingly maniacal baby brother. We've got nearly 6 months of ground to cover along the way so buckle up as we discuss The Undertaker's nod of respect toward Shawn Michaels, Taker saving the day after a volcano, another busted orbital bone, a Memorial Day attack, Kane's award-worthy theatrical promo performances, cameos from Adam Cole and Bunkhouse Buck, a Taker vs. Bret Hart match in the year 2010, the disappointing fall from grace of Wade Barrett and The Nexus, and so much more. Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!

158 - Fantasy Warfare!21 Aug 202002:06:51

We're fantasy booking an alternate timeline of The Undertaker's career on this week's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White as they take a detour from their journey through every Undertaker PPV match to dream up all the amazing PPV matches we never got to see. It's our 3 Year Anniversary of doing the podcast and we've covered some of the greatest match-ups and superstars of all time. But there's an entirely different universe you could explore with all the matches The Phenom never had on PPV, and we're having a blast brainstorming what might have been. We take our time-traveling hearse to this alternate dimension and fantasize about dream opponents from the early days of The Undertaker (Andre The Giant, Macho Man, Mr. Perfect, Razor Ramon) to WCW (Arn Anderson, The Great Muta, The Steiner Brothers) to ECW (Sabu, The Sandman, New Jack) to the Biker Taker Era (Eddie Guerrero, Christian, William Regal) to the Modern Era (Cesaro, Nakamura, Kevin Owens, Aleister Black, Daniel Bryan) to even TNA, AEW, and NXT (Samoa Joe, Kenny Omega, Keith Lee). Plus we share the ideas you had that blew our minds! Join us for this unique discussion and let us know which dream matches you'd want to see most. And, as always, Taker Easy!

Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every PPV match of The Undertaker's career as they discuss the legendary rematch between Shawn Michaels and The Phenom in the main event of WrestleMania 26! It's one of our most anticipated episodes as we break down in full detail The Dead Man's unprecedented quest for 18-0 and the heartbreaking final moments of The Heartbreak Kid's in-ring career (well, until 2018 - but that's another episode). Can this one possibly live up to the unreal expectations set by their all-time classic at WrestleMania last year? We'll tell you once and for all which match we think is better. Along the way we'll cover all the build-up on the road to WrestleMania including some epic promo battles, incredible video packages, the final (at least for a while) DX match, an unprovoked beatdown of Cryme Tyme and The Hart Dynasty, Taker's one and only singles match with future WWE Champ Drew McIntyre, Shawn's horrendous fashion choices, cameos from Stone Cold and Pete Rose, and so much more. Plus we reminisce about our watch party for the PPV back in 2010 featuring baked Oreos, buckets of spaghetti, Settlers Of Catan, and more! Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!

The Undertaker gets a fire lit underneath him like never before on this week's episode of Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every PPV match of The Undertaker's career as they discuss his final ever defense of the World Heavyweight Title at the 2010 Elimination Chamber against Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, Chris Jericho, John Morrison, and R-Truth. While they match may be action-packed and exciting, it's really the pre and post match events that everyone remembers about this one. We'll of course cover the shocking pyro accident that forced Taker to compete in the match with 2nd degree burns and just how incredible his performance his considering that. And then we'll discuss the shocking end to the match as Shawn Michaels goads The Dead Man into a rematch at WrestleMania 26. All that plus more stupidity from insufferable fool Matt Striker, some hideous comedy from JoMo and Truth, Teddy Long getting some Sweet Chin Music, and we share all about a fun trip to Nashville to watch Monday Night Raw the night after the Royal Rumble live from the tippy-top of the arena! 226: The New Skyscrapers01 Jun 202402:02:53
We're covering The Undertaker's earliest days as a tag team specialist and his debut for a major wrestling company on an all new Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their encyclopedic exploration digging up The Dead Man as we take the time-traveling hearse back to WCW in early 1990 and Mean Mark Callous's short-lived run as part of The New Skyscrapers alongside Dangerous Danny Spivey. It's a brief run of less than 10 televised matches, but it's an incredibly important and formative run in Taker's career including the origins of his relationship with ol' Peanuthead himself Teddy Long and his first exposure to his future finishing move. We're breaking down every one of those televised matches against some of the most ridiculous jobbers you've ever seen and culminating with a couple of wild brawls with the greatest tag team of all tiz-iiiiime, The Road Warriors! Along the way we lose our minds laughing at the likes of Zan Panzer, The Galaxians, Agent Steele, ridiculous commentary from Kevin Sullivan and Terry Funk, incredible haiku poetry from Hawk, Gordon Solie's resemblance to Harry Caray, Dan Spivey's college football credentials and JR's obsession with them, The Flying Wallendas, the brotherhood of the traveling mask, deadly elementary school chairs, Thomas Dewey, 10 items or less lines, the Wild Thing Rap, and the embarrassment that was The Masked Skyscraper.    All that and we've got another month's worth of Undertaker sightings to discuss including a big interview on Busted Open and some highlights from Six Feet Under. Plus Alex shares about his experience watching Smackdown live from a suite and meeting up with a Pod Street Krew member in real life! Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!    Show your P.S.K. 155 - Royal Rumble 201031 Jul 202001:42:22

It's the biggest mismatch in Talking Taker history as Rey Mysterio battles The Undertaker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as we kick off 2010 with this Royal Rumble World Title match that's a ton of fun. You might not think these two could pull off a credible match with a 125 pound difference, but you'd be surprised! Of course, that's not the only thing that's going on as we also discuss the seeds beginning to be sown for the WrestleMania 26 rematch with Shawn Michaels. There's so much going on as we cover a Slammy Awards challenge, dreadful celebrity host appearances from Dennis "Millbern" and Don Johnson and Jon Heder, Christmas Cooking with Vickie and Teddy and Hornswoggle, Batista trying (and failing) to force his way into Rey and Taker's rivalry, Bret Hart returning to the WWE, TNA Impact trying (and failing) to start a new Monday Night War, more Beat The Clock fun, Massive Tool Josh Matthews being rude backstage, Matt Striker striking out on commentary, and so much more. Plus we pay tribute to a couple of legends at the end of the show. Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!

153 - Survivor Series 200917 Jul 202001:55:48

Wellllll it's the Big Show...AND JERICHO! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as we cover a World Title Triple Threat Match between The Dead Man, The Big Show, and for the first time ever on PPV, Chris Jericho. Jericho and Taker are two of the biggest stars of this decade and had never had a PPV match, let alone a singles match of any kind up until this point. So why couldn't we have just gotten that at the PPV instead of yet another Big Show appearance? We vent our frustrations at this while also thinking about what might have been. Plus - get ready for all the celebrity guest appearances you can handle as our feud bleeds over into the guest host era of Raw and we are forced to sit through some of the worst television the WWE has ever produced. We'l discuss the agonizing appearances and the many mispronunciations from Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Ricky Hatton, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Luis Guzman, Bobby Flay (not really) and The Iron Sheik (yes really). Along the way we'll also cover the "comedy" of DX and Hornswoggle, the confusing way the Big Show earns his title shot, Teddy Long and Vince McMahon's continued bizarre rivalry, a match between CM Punk and Scott Armstrong, new nicknames for The Undertaker, Matt Striker annoying everyone, Big Show pulling a Jimmy Wang Yang, epic entrances for the Brothers Of Destruction, trips to London and MSG, Santino Marella appreciation, and "I'm from Winnipeg, you idiot!" Plus Alex unboxes the latest additions to his Talking Taker figure collection and vents about losing an eBay auction live during the recording! Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!

The Undertaker defends his World Title against 3 of the greatest of all-time in a hidden gem on this week's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they cover a Fatal 4 Way at Bragging Rights 2009 between "The Distinguished and Deadly Demon Of Death Valley", CM Punk, Batista, and Rey Mysterio. It's ok if you don't remember this one - we didn't either - but it's a unique and fun sprint of a battle that's worth revisiting. We'll break down all the action as well as the the build including Undertaker's new nickname from JR, more confusing tension between Teddy Long and Vince McMahon, the one promo from Undertaker that ties this match together, Batista and Rey Mysterio's friendship unraveling, a Submission Match rematch with CM Punk, why the Bragging Rights concept was such a dud, The King's "literal" mangling of the English language, and so much more. 151 - The Last Ride Episodes 4-503 Jul 202001:22:58

"This time, the cowboy really rides away." Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White as they pause from their journey through every Undertaker PPV match to cover the emotional final two chapters of "The Last Ride" series on the WWE Network. After an absolutely unprecedented 30 year run in the WWE, the man behind The Dead Man, Mark Calaway, wrestles with his greatest opponent - Father Time. After narrowly escaping a life-threatening injury in a disastrous match against Goldberg, Taker weighs whether it's worth trying to continue searching for his perfect ending. A well-received tag team match (playa) at Extreme Rules 2019 seems to be enough for him. But an enticing opportunity with A.J. Styles at WrestleMania proves to finally be the finale The Phenom has been searching for. We'll analyze all of the major moments from these two episodes including hilarious clips of other wrestlers trying to get him to break character through the years, cameos from Matthew McConaughey and Regis Philbin, the struggle of not being booked for WrestleMania 35, working with young talent at the Performance Center, more classic moments with Vince and Taker backstage, devastating reveals about the family tragedies Undertaker faced before WrestleMania 36, behind the scenes stories about the Boneyard Match, and our thoughts on the legacy Mark Calaway leaves behind. Plus we'll continue to give out our prestigious "Undie" Awards for our favorite moments from each episode! So grab a tissue, download, and Taker Easy!

Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White as they pump their brakes on their exploration of every Undertaker PPV match and devote the first half of this special two-part podcast to the first three episodes of "The Last Ride" series on the WWE Network. The engrossing and emotional series has just reached it's epic conclusion, and we couldn't wait to talk about it in-depth. It's the most revealing portrait ever of the man behind the mythic Phenom as we explore Mark Calaway's journey toward a fitting ending for his character and his career. We'll cover all of the unexpected backstage cameos, the real-life ribbing that left us rolling, and all of the incredibly emotional insights. Along the way we'll discuss Undertaker's unique connection with Vince McMahon, his relationship with Michelle McCool and the rest of his family, the painful breakdown of Taker's body before WrestleMania 33, the gruesome surgery afterward, the inspiring recovery before WrestleMania 34, the motivation that kept him wrestling throughout 2018, the hilariously honest insight about Crown Jewel, and so much more. Buckle up, Teddy! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they hop in the backseat of this time-traveling hearse for a trip to the World Title rematch between Taker and CM Punk inside Satan's Structure at Hell In A Cell 2009! It's the first ever Hell In A Cell PPV, all based on a match The Undertaker put on the map. So why is The Demon Of Death Valley going on first in a 10 minute match? We'll discuss all the reasons why this match (and this PPV concept) never really get off the ground. But before we get there we're covering one of the most absurd and memorable moments in The Undertaker's history as he abducts Teddy Long to get his revenge from the Breaking Point Screwjob - it's so ridiculous it's amazing! Plus we'll also cover Teddy's bizarre explanation for his actions, the un-banning of the Hell's Gate, giving away this match on free tv, the continuing and confusing saga of Mr. McMahon's picture, the redebut of Drew McIntyre, the absolutely bonkers Smackdown Tenth Anniversary, Eric Escobar, Santino's Undertaker impression, The Rock getting involved in this rivalry, Emperor Palpatine narrating the PPV open, the historic significance of Undertaker's title win at this show, and so much more. BONUS - The WrestleMania 25-28 Tetralogy with Spenser "St. Ridley" Santos04 Jun 202001:56:05

It's a very special BONUS episode of Talking Taker as co-host Alex Doriot joins friend of the show Spenser "St. Ridley" Santos to analyze the complete story of the Undertaker/Shawn Michaels/Triple H WrestleMania saga! Spenser is a college professor who has taught about this 4-match epic tale in his English classes, so he's got a unique, educated perspective on this story you won't hear anywhere else. We'll discuss how the story truly starts with Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair from WrestleMania 24, the importance of Shawn's storyline with JBL to this feud, comparisons with "Beowulf", how all 3 of the matches after the first one nearly didn't happen, HBK being the true central character in the tale, the importance of the entrance music in each match, the humanity of The Dead Man, epic dives, finisher reversals, and so much more. It's the perfect companion to Alex and Travis's analysis as we dive into the beginning of this saga with our WrestleMania 25 episode coming up on the show next. So download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!

We dive into the next year in the career of The Undertaker with another Royal Rumble Watch-Along on this week's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they provide an alternate running commentary for the 2009 edition of the 30-man spectacular. As always we'll give you the timestamp so you can cue up the WWE Network and watch the match with us. But we also make it just as entertaining if you're only able to listen. During the match we'll cover Show and Taker's never-ending rivalry continuing somehow, the rise of The Legacy, the returns of Rob Van Dam and Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Dolph Ziggler and Santino Marella's hilariously short-lived entries, Triple H, Rey Mysterio, JTG, Mike Knox, Kane, John Morrison, The Miz, R-Truth, and more. And before we get to the match we'll cover an eventful few weeks including a brief but fun feud with Shelton Benjamin (and the confusing lyrics to his theme song), a Steel Cage showdown with The Big Show, more teases for WrestleMania 25, Taker getting snubbed at the 2008 Slammys, and we'll finally talk about the legendary one-off appearance of the mysterious HADE VANSEN!

143 - Survivor Series 200808 May 202001:07:20

It's time to bury The Undertaker and The Big Show's rivalry with a Casket Match! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they close out 2008 with a Survivor Series showdown between The Dead Man and The World's Largest Athlete in Taker's signature match. Show and Taker are 1 and 1 in their recent rivalry and this match should settle the score. But all of the sudden The Big Show has a paralyzing fear of caskets, and the Grim Reaper has one of the most unique finishes ever set up to capitalize on it. We'll analyze the match plus we'll cover all the craziness leading up to it including a Casket Match preview against Chavo Guerrero, the 800th episode of Raw, a subtle start to the WrestleMania 25 build, Undertaker facing off with Vladimir Koslov, a tantalizing preview of a rivalry with Jeff Hardy that we never got to fully see, Big Show turning into Homer Simpson, Tazz's ridiculous analogies, and so much more.

142 - Cyber Sunday 200801 May 202001:02:29

The Undertaker and The Big Show vie to be the Last Man Standing on this week's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they cover the second in a 2008 trilogy between Taker and Show in a match the WWE Universe voted for at Cyber Sunday. The rivalry between The Phenom and The Giant just isn't quite catching on, and we theorize (with the help of some more movie analogies, of course) just why exactly that is. There's still plenty of fun to be had here, though, as we discuss things like Knockout Matches, Great Khali's face turn, Vladimir Koslov's complete lack of charisma, cameos from Joey Ryan and Matt Jackson, prizomos fizor Kizarny, a fun Undertaker and Triple H match, the incredible effort put into the Cyber Sunday set, the complete lack of effort put into the Cyber Sunday concept, the return of That Deadly Submission, JR's flubby-dubs, and much more. Plus Travis resurrects a classic segment - The Vince Russo Bro-ment Of The Week! Download, enjoy, and Taker Easy!

141 - No Mercy 200824 Apr 202001:27:27
The Dead Man gets knocked out on the premiere episode of The Big Show Show Show! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they cover the first in a 2008 trilogy between The Demon Of Death Valley and The World's Largest Athlete at No Way Out 2008. The Big Show becomes an unlikely ally of Vickie Guerrero as The Undertaker goes on a quest for the Smackdown General Manager's soul. There's plenty of fun to be had here, but we discuss why Taker's rivalry with Show doesn't jump off the screen quite as much as his with Edge. Along the way we'll cover one of The Undertaker's shortest and greatest promos of all time, Vickie's continued natural greatness at being a heel, some final chokeslams for La Familia, Taker not mincing any words when it comes to his intentions, Big Show's goofy new catchphrase, an intense Unforgiven showdown, Super Crazy, Ryan Braddock, the Big Show's magical remote control, Eve Torres' questionable interviewing questions, the Chavo-Taker, a new Smackdown network and theme song, JR getting his X-Men mixed up, and so much more. The Undertaker sends Edge to hell! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they reach the incredible conclusion of Edge and Taker's epic rivalry with a pitch-perfect finale inside Hell In A Cell at SummerSlam 2008. Edge, Vickie Guerrero, and La Famila have tormented The Phenom like no one ever before. But finally The Dead Man gets his revenge in a match that touches on every aspect of their 15 month rivalry. We break down the match and the build-up, both of which are full of iconic moments, in great detail as we discuss the way this feud felt more like a great comic book movie than a traditional wrestling rivalry. Along the way we'll cover the troubled engagement of Edge and Vickie, their disastrous wedding night included a hideous Slim Jim commercial and a hilarious Triple H interruption, the rise of Alicia Fox, Edge going off the deep end with Mick Foley, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins marking out for figures all the way back in 2008, Edge's Joker-like joy ride with Vickie, JR's glorious return to Smackdown commentary, another Punk Card pulling, a memorable promo with Edge and Vickie delivered like we've truly never seen before, the parallels of this rivalry to Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho taking on place over on Raw at the same time, how this match reignited our wrestling fandom back in the day, and why this match belongs in the pantheon of the greatest Hell In Cell matches of all time. The Undertaker competes against Edge in an absolutely insane Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match on this week's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they cover a match wrestling fans never thought they'd see The Dead Man participate in at One Night Stand: Extreme Rules 2008. It's a pivotal match in the rivalry between Taker and Edge's Familia as The Phenom is forced to put his nearly 20 year career on the line to get a shot at the vacant World Heavyweight Championship. Along with our in-depth analysis of this incredibly memorable match, we'll also cover the nuclear heat Vickie Guerrero was garnering around this time, another squash of Chavo, a epic botch-fest on Smackdown, how the flop of the 2008 Indiana Jones movie tied into this build, Edge's fantastic trolling of Taker, Hawkins and Ryder earning their paychecks with some wild table bumps, and how this match ripped off one of our classic backyard wrestling matches.    Plus we also give our immediate reactions to cinematic Boneyard Match between The Undertaker and AJ Styles at this year's WrestleMania 36 - recorded just minutes after we watched the match live! It's a game of Keep Away with the World Heavyweight Title on this week's Talking Taker! But Vickie and her Familia quickly use their power to dash those dreams and strip Taker of the gold. The heat is off the charts for this one, and we'll discuss just how hated La Familia was during this time. Along the way we'll also cover another showdown with The Great Khali, a Championship Chase with a perfectly booked ending, Teddy Long finally telling off Vickie, a month's worth of flubbed lines, Mick Foley coming for Travis's King Of Dad Jokes crown, the bizarre logic of the WWE's board of directors, Vickie Guerrero's first ever match, and so much more. Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White as they continue their journey (while social distancing, of course) through every Undertaker PPV match and cover a World Heavyweight Title rematch at Backlash 2008 between Taker and Edge. Edge and Vickie Guerrero's romance continues to be a thorn in The Dead Man's side. But it's "that deadly submission" which is truly wreaking havoc across Smackdown. We'll review their match in depth, plus along the way we'll cover The Undertaker's act of respect towards Ric Flair, a rare babyface battle between the Brothers Of Destruction, the formation of La Familia, the debut of Bam Neely (who?), Edge and Vickie's spa day (and Teddy Long being forced to watch), more awesome matches against Batista, Smackdown's new color commentator, another ECW appearance, a poorly timed Kid Rock song, and The Undertaker vs. Festus! 135 - WrestleMania XXIV13 Mar 202001:46:04

The Undertaker goes for 16 and 0 - and we go 2 on 1 with The Dead Man himself! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they record a special "live" episode of the show from their hotel in New York discussing one of Taker's greatest WrestleMania matches as he faces Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. This nearly year-long rivalry comes to a head in epic fashion under the Orlando sky as the main event at one of the most spectacular PPVs the WWE ever produced. We'll.cover the importance of this match for both men's careers and why it holds a special place in our hearts. Plus we'll cover all the build including Edge's peak heel work, a casket match rewind with Mark Henry, more blood from "that unnamed submission", an awesome old school cage match that crosses over with the Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels rivalry, the repeated lie about Edge's "undefeated" streak, another funeral for The Dead Man, and so much more.

Then Alex and Travis recap their whirlwind 24 hour trip to The Big Event in New York to finally meet The Undertaker! After 2 and a half years of podcasting and 30 years of fandom, we got to shake Taker's hand and tell him about our show. It may have only lasted 30 seconds but we made the most of it and we'll tell you all about it, including his incredible response when he found out about the only podcast dedicated solely to his career. 132 - Armageddon 200721 Feb 202001:25:10

It's a ballad of love and hate on this week's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they cover a Triple Threat for the World Heavyweight Title between The Dead Man, Batista, and Edge at Armageddon 2007. Love is in the air for Edge and Vickie Guerrero as their Rated R romance blossoms and the Ultimate Opportunist's plan to recapture the World Title comes into fruition. But the hatred of The Undertaker and Batista proves just as powerful as they stake their claims for the top of the Smackdown brand. It's a wild ride to a great PPV match and we'll discuss how it made us feel like we were watching vintage Attiude Era WWE. We'll cover a shocking tombstone for Vickie, a welcome return for Teddy Long, Edge's total commitment to his new romance, more of Batista's fiery promos, a "Nasty" dark match we can't believe really took place, Edge and Teddy's sitcom chemistry, a long-awaited answer about who controls the entrance music backstage, Big Daddy V and Mark Henry's incredible new tag team, more commentary confusion, the debut of The Edgeheads, and so much more. We've got a playdate inside The Dead Man's Playground on this week's Talking Taker! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they talk about the Hell In A Cell clash between Taker and Batista at Survivor Series 2007. It's a rubber match as the series between The Animal and The Phenom sits at one win (and two draws) apiece. Along the way we'll also discuss the frequent tag matches with Undertaker and Batista, JBL's confusing and unresolved presence in their rivalry, more tension between Jamie Noble and Vickie Guerrero, some excellent commentary work for a change, the importance of short and sweet promos, the evolution of "dropping the mic", and much more. The Undertaker rocks the vote on this week's podcast! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Dead Man PPV match as they cover a Cyber Sunday affair against Batista with the fans voting on the special guest referee. Of course, it's a bit of a rigged election as the candidates are JBL, Mick Foley, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Hmmm - wonder who's gonna win that one?! Although there's no suspense with that competition, there still plenty of fun stuff for us to discuss along the way including the ridiculous wedding of Teddy Long and Kristal Marshall, Vickie Guerrero becoming the new Smackdown GM, more Mark Henry squashing, a Brothers Of Destruction reunion against Matt Hardy and M.V.P., Taker stealing the #1 Contendership, Jamie Noble stealing the show week after week, and so much more. The Undertaker is risen - he is risen indeed! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they cover Unforgiven 2007 and The Dead Man's comeback match against Mark Henry. But that's not the only big story we're covering as we discuss the injury which took Taker out of action in the first place and forced him to prematurely drop the World Title in a shocking moment to Edge. Then, while The Undertaker was recovering, the wrestling world was sent into shock by the horrifying Benoit family tragedy. Alex and Travis discuss where they were when they heard the devastating news, their initial reactions, and why they stopped watching wrestling for a year afterward. It's an emotional discussion, but don't worry. We've still got plenty of ridiculousness to discuss as well on this jam-packed episode including an impressive cage match with Batista, Mr. Kennedy's epic fail, a who's who of before they were famous jobbers, Taker's accidental racism, Alter Bridge, Chuck Palumbo's parents, Teddy Long's bachelor party, Eugene with a gun, beef cases, and so much more.
