Welcome back to the Talking Physiotherapy Podcast. In this episode we discuss managing acute and chronic hip and groin injuries in both professional sport and private settings.


Connor and Lewis compare how identification, clinical assessment, testing and rehab differ based on clinical environments as well as chatting through some of the research available and the clinical approaches by experts in the field.

This episode dives into the primary research project. We are joined by Megan Brown and Esme Dodwell, two newly qualified band 5 physiotherapists. Having recently graduated from the MSc programme at Bradford University, we got together to discuss their recent primary research projects. Meg captured student physiotherapists experiences with university throughout the covid-19 pandemic. Esme held a focus group which helped voice the experiences of stroke survivors throughout the pandemic. 

Meg and Esme share their experiences, as we take a look into the processes involved at each step. Providing helpful tips and tricks to help you navigate the challenges of completing a primary research project. We discuss some of the more difficult steps that students can have difficulties with and offer solutions based of personal experiences. Advice on how to get the most out of this experience and how to push for those higher grades.

Jen represents physio students on the 'one-hundred and fifty leaders, student leadership programme.' In this episode we dissected the 'Physio Declares' project. Opening the episode we explored the concept of climate health and the role physiotherapy plays within that. As we delve deeper into climate change we discuss how physiotherapy is the 'green' profession in striving for sustainability and self-management all before Jen explains to us the purpose of Physio Declares, it's aims and the what we can do better to tackle climate change as individuals, in our organisations and on a wider societal level.
