Changing the barrel - Updates on the podcast moving forward 06 Jun 202300:07:48

We're changing the barrel which is to refresh and update the podcast, we're changing the name of the pod to Tales from the social club and a slight change of direction as we will discuss funny stories from our time spent in pubs and clubs. If you've spent any length of time in your local pub and observed the locals interactions you'll be well aware of the kind of stories we'll be discussing, from the funny things people say to the things that have happened to us and sometimes the surreal experiences that only happen on a night on the booze.

Reviewing a brewery that doesn't exist anymore: Cheshire Brewhouse 24 May 202300:16:29

The extended version of my youtube review of Elephants Breath from Cheshire Brewhouse. As i provide a bit more beer chat while finishing off this 1905 Edwardian ESB, talking a little bit about the brewery itself and it's unfortunate closure. Countryside pubs how do they stay open relying on passing trade that most often can't drink many of their beers. Addressing the hard pour method for nitro cans of stout.

It's a stout off - Guinness vs Forged Irish stout vs BrewDog Black Heart 01 May 202300:28:25

Welcome back to Jamie's Man Cave / Man Cave Beers Podcast - The first half of this episode contains the audio from my youtube stout off video where i review the Guinness draught stout vs Forged Irish Stout and BrewDog's Black Heart draught stout. Following this i talk through each in a little more detail, discussing my long lost really nice stout that was i believe Murphy's Irish stout but it could be nostalgia playing tricks.

I ask for some of your suggestions from the craft beer scene and the solid stouts that are available to sample and review, there are loads i am certain but they maybe aren't as accessible and don't get the big promotional campaigns.

Thanks for joining me on this all stout affair, links below to socials, youtube and Patreon - Cheers

Can crap beer ever be a good beer 29 Nov 202301:01:05

In this episode we discuss whether a beer that is considered crap can ever be considered good. We talk about two tales from our local social club and the kind of characters we encounter in there from a quick after football pint on a Monday evening to stumbling upon family night on a Saturday night. Also discussing the beer we are drinking and some beer news if there is any this particular week that doesn't include the unfortunate closure of a brewery or pub.

Drinking Jagermeister with Norwegians in Turkey 24 Jul 202300:47:47

Welcome back to Tales from the social club podcast, where we bring you funny drunken tales from our time spent in the pubs and clubs.

In this episode Aaron and Jamie talk through what they are drinking before Jamie brings his drunken tale of being 18 years old on a family all inclusive holiday in Turkey mixing Raki with Jagermeister trying to impress some girls from Norway and of course this not being a success. Aaron shares a similar tale of going away with his friends on his first holiday with the ' lads ' when he was 18, turns out Ibiza in the off season while being cheap isn't the full on party experience they had hoped and Absinth is not to be taken lightly.
