Donovan and Blaine took in the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm all the while asking if it would live up to it grandeur of its previous season, one of the best in the HBO books (17:52).

Then the guys take a shift into music by discussing the excellent new album I Don't Live Here Anymore from the band The War on Drugs (23:38). Then, a popular question off mic becomes a crowd-sourced one: should we dump Facebook? Is Instagram the place to hang (35:15)? Let us know!

Blaine laments his illness of Covid (2:09) which makes him have time for a little college football TV antics before he dissects what's possibly worth everyone's time this coming Fall on TV. Towards the middle Blaine is joined by Corey Hannah (12:42), host of both 'Alabama Slam' and 'We Are A Star War' to talk about one of the podcast that has to go to everyone's surprise. 'Alabama Slam' ends, but Blaine gets Corey to look back on the show, which episodes were best, which surprised, and what will happen next (19:41).

There, Corey brought the heat on a player on 'The Challenge' whom he has grown tired of hearing. Who could it be (24:04)? And the guys end with ideas on the current season of 'The Challenge: Battle for the Eras' (26:22).

Taking It Down this week begins with some customary college football talk, especially with all those overtimes (1:53), before moving into even more discussion on the fourth episode from the excellent Netflix show Midnight Mass (6:52). Everyone then gives some recommendations on what's made them afraid in movies, television, books, songs, and even video games (11:34). Listen to help plan your Halloween viewing and listening. It was odd not to be a podcast not talking about HBO's Succession, so we decided how that happened (34:18). We called in the calvary, and they instead sent TD Wood to help with our football preview special. First, we talk COVID-19 because it won't go away (1:46). Then it's a brief discussion on how the newest from Marvel -- both Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Marvel's What If...? -- haven't gotten much of our interest (2:55). After that, we begin the football talk with all the changes and possible changes in college football (7:17) before we talk about how people really don't like picking games against the spread (24:57). Everyone gives a prediction for all the major college conferences (25:00) before we give some tepid NFL Super Bowl thoughts (56:42).

The gang tries to decipher if Rhode Island is a tennis state to begin (1:07) before discussing the usual COVID-19 segment (2:43). After that, it's a discussion on the latest album from James McMurtry, The Horses and the Hounds (4:26).

After the break, Blaine revokes his fandom of the Dallas Cowboys, which opens the door for other franchises to take their place (15:37). To end the show, they talk about if Reservation Dogs on FX/Hulu is worth the time (18:58).

After a week away, there are lots of television shows and movies to cover, and we somehow manage to squeeze in more than a few. We first talk about Obama's birthday party (0:58) before discussing COVID-19 once again (2:55). Then it's more into pop culture with two of Apple TV+ shows: Mr. Corman (10:50) and Ted Lasso (19:24).

After the break, Adam and Blaine give some introductory thoughts on the first episode of the new season of The Challenge: Spies, Lies & Allies (30:19). Blaine happened to catch the buzziest movie of the week, CODA (35:22). Then Natalie joins the gang to talk about the recent Disney+ show Marvel's What If...? (36:50) and the HBO Max movie from the DC Universe The Suicide Squad (44:45).

Anger about low vaccination rates begins this week's episode of Taking It Down (1:44). Eventually, it's a brief discussion of Billie Eilish and her new release of which we know little (12:17). Then it's a movie we know something about as we talk about whether The Green Knight is a hit or miss (16:10). Somehow, we missed Lollapalooza despite it being free on Hulu this year, but we still are glad for live music (20:17). The group continues a discussion on 100 Foot Wave from HBO, particularly the metaphors in the second episode (24:07).

After the break and a quick announcement of being off next week, it's more talk of the HBO series The White Lotus and its third episode which was all about sex (33:18). What's more? Some talk about where this season of Ted Lasso is likely headed (39:15) as well as a primer on how regulation in the Premier League works (50:51).

There are plenty of things to talk about this week, but we at Taking It Down managed to narrow it down somewhat. First, we each give some brief thoughts on the upcoming season of The Challenge and how soon it's approaching (1:29)! After some speculation, we discuss the finale of the MCU and Disney+ hit Loki (5:23). But how good was it? We keep things grounded in the Marvel as we go from Loki into the movie Black Widow, which we seemed to like more than other fans (16:57).

After the break, we discuss two shows, one stellar and the other promising: The White Lotus which is now airing on HBO and HBO Max (27:55) and then the new Hulu original from Rick Rubin and Sir Paul McCartney, McCartney 3, 2, 1 (38:26).

It's a full slate this week! Taking It Down begins with some loose talk about tennis, namely the hours of Wimbledon watched this week (1:27) before sliding into a new streaming service called Metrograph from New York City itself (9:07). It's where Adam watched the documentary The French, which he recounts some here.

After a quick note on the Netflix series Somos. (13:36), the entire crew talk about the specific hilarity of the Netflix show from Tim Robinson I Think You Should Leave, which debuted its second season this week (14:55). They then break down the new Steven Soderbergh film on HBO Max No Sudden Move (22:41).

To wrap, things get as crazy as the penultimate episode of Loki as Natalie joins in and she and Donovan rap about various Lokis and the possible ending (37:12).

If there's a documentary to see this summer, it's Summer of Soul (...Or When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) from Questlove. The good news is that it's streaming on Hulu. The people at Taking It Down this week make an attempt to express its joy (1:25). After the break, it's an examination of how the new Netflix series Somos. owes a lot to David Simon yet maintains a high level of interest (25:10). Finally, it wouldn't be a summer episode if they didn't at least discuss the newest episode of Loki, titled "The Nexus Event" (38:53).
