Sweet Magnolias: AfterBuzz TV Season 1 Cast Reunion It was an afternoon in Serenity with the Season 1 cast reunion for Netflix’s #1 series, Sweet Magnolias! Joining us from all around the United States (including a parking lot where Jamie Lynn Spears attended her daughter’s championship game!) and Canada. The cast hadn’t seen one another in months, and while talking about the success of season 1 was on everyone’s minds it was clear how much they missed one another, and were overjoyed to see everyone. Fans of the show have been blowing up social media with their love and reactions, especially about the season finale. No one in the cast knows who the other passenger in the car is, and while everyone attempted to drag it out of showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson, and EP Norman Buckley, they were not letting the cat out of the bag! What the entire cast was sure about was their gratitude for the fan reaction making Sweet Magnolias Netflix’s #1 most watched show, and what a magical time they all had working together creating the community of Serenity.  We can’t wait for more Serenity! Sweet Magnolias Episode 3: Give Drink to the Thirsty Delays in the renovation of the spa begin taking their toll on the ladies, Dana Sue’s stress continues to mount over work and home, Maddie reluctantly strikes a deal with Bill, and Kyle opens up to Noreen The stress of renovating the The Sweet Magnolia Spa, the centerstone of new beginnings for Maddie, Helen and Dana Sue, begins taking its toll on the women while they continue juggling their own work/family lives. Dana Sue, in particular, feels like she’s losing her best self, sees how she’s alienating everyone she loves, including her daughter and the ladies “let it pour” in support! Coach Cal continues to encourage Bill and Maddie to come to an agreement about how best to support Tyler as his grades and performance on the baseball team continue to drop. It’s clear that Noreen’s presence at the games is a distraction and Bill must make a painful decision in order to do what’s best for his son. Sweet Magnolias: Episode 10: Storms and Rainbows Prom night approaches, Maddie comes to a decision about Cal, Dana Sue is confronted by her past, and Helen calls an emergency Pour It Out session As prom night approaches we see Ty unexpectedly accept CeCe’s invite to prom. Annie and Kyle make other plans for prom with some surprise faces. Cal has his first dinner with Maddie and the kids but on Helen’s home front things are not so well with she and Ryan. Ryan states his case that he in no way wants children because of all the loss he’s seen in the world while Helen believes children are the hope of the world. In the end, he leaves, this time for the last time, and Helen is devastated. Dana Sue and Maddie get an emergency Pour It Out request from Helen. The ladies try to console Helen with smoothies but the only thing she has on her mind besides tequila is having a baby. Cal tells Maddie he loves her which sends her into a tailspin. Then Cal’s friend arrives in town who also happens to be a baseball scout and approaches Ty. Ty believes this is his road to get into the major leagues. Maddie squashes that idea and is furious with Cal, blaming him for getting Ty’s hopes up and not consulting her. Meanwhile, Bill is trying everything to clean up his act. He purchases tickets to the musical Hamilton so he can bond with Kyle, and spends a beautiful day with Katie where he realizes just how much he misses his family leading to him to ask Maddie to take him back. Dana Sue sees two men from her past reappear. Micah, her business partner, is in need of money for his sick brother, and asks Dana Sue to buy him out.  And in a sudden twist, we see Isaac put two and two together thinking Micah and Dana Sue may be his biological parents. Dana Sue’s estranged husband, Ronnie, shows up. She needs Ronnie to give her a divorce so she can get her financials in order and help Micah. Ronnie has no intention of giving her a divorce and wants to get back together. And in a horrible chain of events, prom night ends in horror when Maddie is alerted there’s been a car accident. To everyone’s shock, the wreckage shows Kyle is behind the wheel, unconscious, with an unknown passenger. Plus, sunshine and light, also known as JoAnna Swisher Garcia, joins the recap, and can’t WAIT to find out what the panel thinks about this dramatic episode. Will Maddie and Bill reunite? Who is the mystery passenger? Will there be a season 2? The panel asks all the questions! Sweet Magnolias: Episode 9: Where You Find Me On the morning of the mock trial Kyle’s behavior worries everyone meanwhile Dana Sue meets a handsome farmer. Kyle is devastated over his unrequited feelings for Annie and Noreen’s departure. On the morning of the trial he forces himself to go to school but goes missing instead sending everyone scrambling. Bill and Maddie are frantic and when Maddies tells Bill to ask Noreen if she’s seen Kyle, Bill tells her Noreen left him. Pastor June Wilkes finds Kyle sitting alone in church. Maddie arrives and he tells her how he feels like no one sees him and thinks if he disappeared how no one would miss him. Maddie is crushed that she didn’t see how much he was struggling. Ryan comes to the rescue when it comes to Helen’s need for a co-op manager to take over the farm and keep it alive. Dana Sue heads out to the farm with Ryan to meet with the head of the co-op. She’s there to see what the options are and what the co-op can provide Sullivan’s. When she meets “farmer” Jeremy, the man running the co-op, nothing and no one is what she expected. The mock trial competition goes on without Kyle with Annie filing in for Kyle and being grilled by Ce Ce on the stand. Ce Ce can’t stand seeing Annie and Ty talk and she takes it out on Annie during the trial. The competition goes well, in spite of Kyle’s absence. And Ce Ce gets the award for best defense attorney, making Helen and her father proud. Cal stops by to check on Maddie, a little disconcerted by Bill’s presence earlier. Maddie makes it clear who she’s got her focus on. Later, Kyle tells Ty that Noreen has left their dad. Helen and Annie come over and Kyle apologizes to them. While Helen, Dana Sue and Maddie ‘Pour It Out’ Annie and Kyle share being grounded and establish “they’re good.” When Maddie tells Dana Sue and Helen that Noreen left Bill, they can’t believe it. Maddie says Bill actually stepped up when Kyle went missing and maybe he never did before because she never let him. Helen and Ryan grow closer unitl she’s confronted with the one thing that could tear them apart. Plus from the writer’s room, Caron Tschampion, and actress Harlan Drum (Ce Ce Matney) join the panel to talk about episode 9! Caron shares behind the scenes of what goes on in the writer’s room, how they brainstorm story and character, and Harlan shares her love for the character of Ce Ce and how she grew to really understand her. Sweet Magnolias: Episode 8: What Fools These Mortals Be Bill continues to make bad decisions, Noreen attends Kyle’s play, and Maddie and Cal take their relationship to the next level. Bill and Maddie go head to head over Bill getting Ty a new car without consulting her. He continues to make bad choices throughout and Maddie’s anger toward him comes to the surface crystal clear. Noreen’s frustration with feeling second best in Bill’s life grows. Bill proves that “common sense ain’t common” (Helen to the girls during Pour It Out) Helen is asked by a friend to help him with a farm he’s inherited but has no use for. She’s been tasked to turn it into something good like she did with Miss Frances’ house. She calls Ryan in Africa for some thoughts on the case. He says he can help her out, especially when she finds him on her doorstep Maddie and Cal take the next step in their relationship! Erik teaches a lesson of mindfulness to Dana Sue and it’s not what she expects. Tensions between Kyle and Ty continue to mount over the fallout from Annie. Kyle is hoping Annie will come to see his play and Dana Sue is convinced to break the “you’re grounded” rule for Kyle’s performance.  Noreen and Bill attend Kyle’s play until Bill is called away by a patient. Noreen is upset that he didn’t make the night and Kyle a priority by putting himself on call. Kyle is disappointed that his father wasn’t there but is surrounded by his family in support. That night, Kyle decides to express to Annie how he feels about her but when he tries to kiss her everything goes wrong when she clearly doesn’t feel the same way. Noreen makes a surprising decision that will change everyone’s life. Plus, Jaimie Lynn Spears (Noreen Fitzgibbons) and Logan Allen (Kyle Townsend) join the panel to talk about the drama of episode 8! Jamie Lynn and Logan talk about the unexpected and special friendship that their characters have.
