| 122, Taking Imperfect Action + Business Coaching for Creatives, with Ximena Borges | 13 Apr 2023 | 00:35:39 | |
When our society often expects perfection, it may be surprising to get advice to just take imperfect action. But at Success with Soul, that is often what we advise our clients when they are letting fear and perfectionism keep them from taking any action at all. Today’s guest, Incubator client Ximena Borges, has adopted that advice as her new mantra in life and business. Co-founder of Juliet and the Elf (a resource for parents to learn how to use music during different brain development stages of their children) Ximena and her business partner, Margo, have learned during their time in the Incubator how to take imperfect action to achieve sustainable results. But Ximena wasn’t always in a season of life to invest in business coaching, and even when she did, she found that she was only receptive to learning the practical steps to growing her business. Now, more than a year later, she has advice for other business owners when it comes to making a financial commitment to coaching, how to embrace sustainability, and the power of taking imperfect action. | 120, Part 4: How to Share Your Story and Build Connection + Narrow the Focus of Your Business | 30 Mar 2023 | 00:13:49
This week we are going behind the scenes on another Incubator coaching call where Kate and clients talk about how to narrow your offer and business focus and the power of sharing your story to connect with potential clients! Talking about yourself – especially with your business – can be scary. Is there actually anything that powerful about sharing it, anyways? The simple answer to that is YES. Statistics show that stories are more memorable to the human brain and that customers and clients want more stories from brands and companies. Whether you share your story or that of someone else impacted by your work, it’s the personal connection piece that others want to know. But one of the biggest hurdles of storytelling in business – especially when building your own business – is how people receive or perceive your story. While you can’t control how others think, what you can control is your narrative and the decision about whether sharing your story is worth the potential criticism. What you’ll learn in this episode:

| 119, Part 3: Organizing Life’s Priorities and Breaking Cycles of Self doubt | 23 Mar 2023 | 00:36:08 | |
This week we continue giving you an exclusive listen inside the Incubator mastermind in another live Q&A session between Kate and clients.
In Part 3, we are talking about where our work and businesses fall in our list of life priorities, and how easily we can let that list get jumbled up. When we actually think about what matters to us, most often work is not first on the list, yet can so easily consume most of our time and attention.
As we take an intentional look at that list, we also dive into how we can get sucked into cycles of self doubt when we don’t hit our goals or meet our metrics – or when others’ opinions affect us a little too much.
The ultimate question that we wrestle with in this episode is: from where do I derive my self worth? Sometimes being honest with ourselves about these questions and topics, as you will hear, is the first step to breaking cycles and replacing them with a more holistic way.
So have a listen and let me know what you think! What you’ll learn in this episode:

| 118, Part 2: Sneaky limiting beliefs examples + how to reframe negative thoughts to achieve success | 16 Mar 2023 | 00:20:54 | |
Every business owner is going to have periods of real frustration and discouragement. This can be a season where no sales are coming in. It can be a big life transition like moving, or a divorce, or pregnancy, or leaving your stable corporate job, or raising little kids. It can just be a sense of feeling overwhelmed and not knowing what to do next. It can be easy and pretty damn natural to have negative self-talk and all kinds of limiting beliefs pop up in these seasons of uncertainty. So, what can we do about them? How can we reasonably reframe negative thoughts without bypassing or pretending? How can we be honest about our limiting beliefs and still keep room for new, more life-giving beliefs to take root in our hearts and minds? Today we're shaking it up and sharing something very special with you: an exclusive listen inside an Incubator mastermind Q&A session. In Part 1 of this recorded conversation, we're diving into the concept of choosing our feelings (yes, choosing), and how the self-talk we opt for based on those feelings — whether it's positive self-talk or negative self-talk — correlates directly to the actions we take and the outcomes we experience in life and business. We often don’t think of our feelings as things we choose. Rather, we think of them as things that kind of just happen to us. But I was listening to The Life Coach School podcast with Brooke Castillo, and she made a really powerful distinction inside of this concept of choice that I think will be really valuable for our listeners. So have a listen and let me know what you think! What you’ll learn in this episode:

| 116: Business Networking for Women: How Authentic Relationship + Strategic Alliance Can Scale Your Biz, with Danielle Wiebe | 02 Mar 2023 | 00:40:19 | |
It's not uncommon for business owners to seek out networking organizations for the connections. That is, after all, a key way that a business women's network can practically support one another. But Danielle Wiebe wanted something different when she first imagined what would become the Business Babes Collective in 2015. She wanted less corporate and way more fun. She wanted connections that were based on authentic relationships, not just professional opportunism. She wanted women to expand their idea of what strategic partnership and collaboration could look like. And perhaps most of all, she wanted a place where women could embrace an abundance mindset when it comes to their success. Danielle found that when women can trust that there really, truly is enough money, clients, opportunities, and achievements to go around — that's where the magic happens. In this conversation between guest host Indira Shakti and Danielle, you’ll hear and feel how a stance of openness and generosity is so intimately connected with success with soul. | 115: Smart Business & Strategy: What To Do When You Hit a Slump, with Sarah Jane Sandy | 23 Feb 2023 | 00:41:28
Our guest today is functional nutritionist, women’s health expert, and extraordinary Incubator client Sarah Jane Sandy! Sarah had a somewhat unusual experience as a new business owner back in the early 2000s: it was actually pretty easy for her from the start. She grew up in a family that understood her business niche and had built successful businesses themselves in the holistic wellness space. She started out as a fertility expert inside a holistic business collective, which made marketing and attracting new clients fairly easy. She had great luck early on with a web designer who built a site for her with excellent SEO and easily drew organic traffic. Even though she was a hard worker, she also didn’t really know what was going on in the background of her business. She’d stumbled on a business strategy that was working — but she didn’t realize at the time how or why it was effective. In 2020, COVID hit, and she also had a baby. Her life changed dramatically in just a few months. And the economy and tech industry were also changing rapidly. Because Sarah wasn’t familiar with the inner workings of her business, she didn’t know how to respond to the shift in her energy, her focus, and the strategic needs of her business. By 2021, her business was in trouble. Today Sarah is sitting down with guest host Indira to share her story of hitting a major slump and what she transformed about her approach that has transformed her business in just two years. | 114: Unique Self Care Ideas for Women Entrepreneurs, with Intuitive Tarot Reader Desi Demoto | 16 Feb 2023 | 00:36:55
Many people carry a ton of preconceptions and judgments about tarot card reading. They write it off as silly or associate it with tented rooms, crystal balls, and prediction. We can all probably conjure scenes from movies or TV shows where someone walks in and gets a mysterious message from the Great Beyond about when they're going to die, or get married — some very particular thing about their future. But Desi Domo has a totally different perspective about tarot and its purpose. She sees it as a mirror. A way to look more deeply at your present moment, or to view the past as a way to understand your present more richly, so that you can move on to create a future that's more meaningful for you. In this way, for Desi, doing a regular tarot card reading is an act of real self care. You'll love this conversation about how Desi got into tarot, how she uses it as a daily self-care ritual, why self care is important to be successful, and how she helps her clients find clarity, confidence, and peace. | 113: Sharing Revenue: A New Coaching Model Disrupting the Industry, with Lacey Sites | 09 Feb 2023 | 00:49:22
Lacey Sites is a disruptor and a change maker in the coaching industry. She’s got the education, experience, and business intuition to figure out what’s going to work for her, and she’s not afraid to take risks and do things no one else is doing. One of the most exciting ways she’s disrupting the coaching industry is with her revenue sharing model. Simply put, Lacey’s business earns money through sharing revenue with her clients. So rather than a package rate, or hourly rate, or any other traditional coaching model, Lacey gets paid a percentage of her clients’ revenue. This is not an uncommon practice in other industries, but it is in the business coaching world, and it’s working out fantastically for Lacey: In 2021, her business A Lit Up Life made over $1 million in CASH using just their partnership and 1:1 coaching model. So if you're curious what sharing revenue could do for your coaching biz, or if you just want to hear more about how out-of-the-box thinking can serve you as a business owner, then you're going to love this episode. I've been implementing some of Lacey's ideas, as well, and I think her boundary-pushing mindset will really inspire you to let go of "should" and do what feels right for YOU. I can't wait for you to hear all about this! What you’ll learn in this episode:

| 112: Allowing Seasons of Hustle + Rest to Heal Burnout from Work, with Sabrina Gebhardt | 02 Feb 2023 | 00:37:43 | |
There's no doubt that if you're going to own your own business, there are going to be seasons where you've got to work hard. Whether it's developing a new offering, getting your website up and ready, or launching your program — sometimes you've got to go the extra mile to make things happen. But what happens when hustle becomes a lifestyle? Many of the women who come to us at the Incubator have been experiencing the long term effects of stress on the body: sleeplessness, panic attacks, inflammation, mysterious illnesses, constant worry. They want a way to break out of the nonstop grind that's diminishing their emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational wellbeing. Running a business takes stamina. It's stressful sometimes. It just is. It requires a certain capacity to accept uncertainty. Dealing with stress from work can't be about eliminating all stress — because that's unreasonable and impossible. Practical advice about addressing burnout from work has to be rooted in the reality that business, just like the rest of life, moves in seasons. Learning how to identify and respond to what your body, mind, and spirit are telling you can bring a huge shift in dealing with stress from work and healing the long term effects of stress on the body. So if you're an entrepreneur and you're struggling with finding a healthy balance between hard work and real rest, then I hope you'll tune into this conversation I had with Sabrina Gebhardt on her podcast Shoot It Straight. It's honest and practical, and I think you'll feel both encouraged and empowered What you’ll learn in this episode:

| 111: Using Mindful Art + Meditation for Mindset Shifts with Tracey McGrath | 26 Jan 2023 | 00:25:28 | |
We’ve probably all felt it at one time or another: that gentle but persistent tugging at your soul towards something different. Some part of you can’t stop wondering if there is something bigger, better, more soul-fulfilling out there for you. In today’s episode, Dr. Tracey McGrath shares with us how she followed that pull and made the brave leap from Pharmacist to Mindful Art Teacher — with the help of meditation and mindful art, of course. This is a wonderful example of how the Universe works to draw us towards what we’re meant for. In Tracey’s case, the practices she turned to as a way to help her cope with a hard situation actually became her path to freedom. We’re exploring how these mindful practices can be powerful tools for boosting creativity, increasing confidence, encouraging mindset shifts, and finding your bliss. If you’ve been feeling stuck in a job that you KNOW is not right for you and you're so ready to find a career you love, but you don’t know if there’s a way out … then you’re not going to want to miss this conversation with Tracey. I am a big planner and organizer. It's totally my jam. And there are healthy and beautiful aspects to this passion, for sure. But here's something I notice in the entrepreneurial world, where a lot of us are driven, high-achieving planners: we get paralyzed sometimes by our intense need to be super-duper prepared for everything. If you've been sitting on a great business idea for a while, and you can't get going because you’re worried you don’t have exactly what you need to start your business — then today’s episode is just for you. And if you're feeling frustrated that you haven't made any money yet, I'd like to challenge your thoughts about what you need before you can start making offers, and share some mindset shifts that can finally get you going and set you up for success this year. | 109: How to Change Your Mindset + Your Results with The Model (Free Training!) | 12 Jan 2023 | 00:39:58
In entrepreneurial circles these days, you're likely to hear plenty of talk about creating a positive mindset. Change your mindset, change your life ... right? But when it comes time to change the behavior, it's not uncommon to discover just how stubborn and sticky our patterns (and the thoughts that underlie them) can be. So, if your thoughts become your reality ... and you're having trouble shifting your reality ... then you can be fairly certain that it isn't the behavior that needs your initial focus, but rather the thoughts that come before the behavior. In other words, if you want to change your results, then you've got to address the thoughts that make up the mindset. And changing your thoughts is not just like flipping a switch. Your brain is much more complex than that. In today's episode, I'm sharing a training I did inside the Incubator that walks through Brooke Castillo'sThe Model (CTFAR). It's a simple yet effective tool to pause and recognize how your thoughts become your reality, so that you can work with your brain to change your mindset and encourage new actions and outcomes. | 108: The Power of Setting Your Intentions + Team KK's 2023 Word of the Year | 15 Dec 2022 | 00:21:59
At Team KK, we're big believers in the idea that words matter, and that being thoughtful about our desires can have a significant impact on the quality of our experiences. Today, we're bringing you behind the scenes to our annual planning meeting as we wrap up Season 2 of the podcast and look ahead to our hopes for the company and ourselves in the coming year! Part of what we like to do at the close of each year is to just take some time to take stock, to look back, and to name our desires for the year ahead. And part of this process involves setting intentions with a Word of the Year. This ritual each year isn't complicated, but it's definitely one of my favorites. It might seem simple to encapsulate your desire in a Word of the Year, but it's actually a really vulnerable and empowering exercise. You're putting yourself out there, and you're sharing what that means with your team or your loved ones, and it sparks this energy of creation. Setting your intentions with your whole heart is a way to tune into what matters most to you, and as part of our annual process at Team KK, it also means that we get to support each other in being able to feel our best inside of our work. Today we're sharing how we do this exercise, what setting intentions for the coming year means for us, and what the Word of the Year is for each of us as we head into 2023! Thanks for a great 2022, and we’ll look forward to offering up more great conversations in the New Year. What you’ll learn in this episode:

| 107: Listening to the Desire to Try Something New + Taking Business Risks, with Kate + Indira | 08 Dec 2022 | 00:33:18 | |
In November 2021, I sent an email to my list with a big, scary announcement. I was letting them know that I was retiring my 21 Days to Impact program and my 6-Figure Blog Academy program and integrating them into a single, all-encompassing, deep-dive program that's now the Success With Soul Incubator, which I had launched in March 2021. Here's the thing: these were my most successful programs. They had allowed me to consistently bring in $50K months on autopilot. The Incubator was in its baby phase. I had no idea if it was going to get traction. At that time, Indira was our new COO, and she said what I think a lot of people were thinking: What's going on? Why on earth would you let go of what's working in favor of a total unknown? After all, this move went against ALL the conventional business advice:
Today, Indira and I are talking about why I decided to do this, why I couldn't push away that draw to try something new in my business (again!), and why I believe taking business risks is an essential part of choosing to be an entrepreneur. What you’ll learn in this episode:

| 106: Turn Your Passion Project Into an Online Business, with Lifestyle Blogger Melissa Therrien | 01 Dec 2022 | 00:30:11 | |
In her 22 years in corporate life, Melissa Therrien has heard a similar story from so many women in business: they're successful, but they rarely feel alive. They're often moms and caregivers, and their jobs likely involve serving others, as well. Often their work requires a lot of analytical and strategic thinking. So in these roles of relentlessly serving other people, over time, they tend to give so much of themselves away to other people that they begin to lose pieces of themselves. They're disconnected in body, mind, and soul. And here's another part of the stories that Melissa knows, both from talking to other women and from her own personal experience: they often have creative interests that light them up deep inside ... but they have no time, no space, and no energy to dive into these passions. Melissa is a mom and executive who loves writing, painting, and creating beauty around her. She found that the more she allowed herself to spend time with the activities that brought her the most joy, the more she wanted to help other women experience the liberating power of nurturing the creative side of themselves, too. And along the way, with the help and support she's gotten inside the Success With Soul Incubator, she's found a path to turning her passion project ideas into an online business. Today she's a creative entrepreneur, lifestyle blogger, and business and personal development coach at Live Each Day. She teaches busy, motivated women to rediscover themselves so they can live the life they truly want. We think you'll appreciate this multi-talented entrepreneur, and it's been a pleasure to work with Melissa inside the Incubator as she's honing and growing her business! | 105: What You Need to Start a Business That Feels Aligned, with Homebuyer Coach Lindsay Thomas Milley | 24 Nov 2022 | 00:27:42
We often hear about the entrepreneur who has a crystal-clear vision from day 1 about exactly what she wants her online business to look like. She knows what she wants to offer. She knows her target audience. She understands her niche. That's one way that an entrepreneur can feel the pull to start a business. And it's a wonderful way! But there's another way that we maybe don't talk about quite as much — and that's the entrepreneur who's clear that she wants to build a business ... but the details at the beginning are pretty damn hazy. If this describes your situation, let me tell you: you are in great company! You might be surprised to discover just how many other business owners out there felt the draw to create their own online businesses long before they had nailed down all the details. But here's something you might not have considered as you're looking to start a business of your own: intentionally, consciously investing in your business, even if it technically hasn't been fully born yet. Today's guest, homebuyer coach and Incubator client Lindsay Thomas Milley, shares her unique journey with guest host Indira, and I think you're really going to appreciate her perspective. Lindsay decided to join the Incubator early, before she had total clarity on the path her online business should take. Why? Because having that clarity, support, and soul-aligned guidance was exactly what she needed to start a business that feels just right for her. | 104: The Key to Success in Business + Learning, with Polyglot Bront’e Singleton | 17 Nov 2022 | 00:26:40
Bront'e Singleton is no stranger to trying — and struggling — to learn a new language.
She downloaded all of the apps. Bookmarked all of the blogs and Youtube channels. Bought into a lot of resources, programs, and classes. But still she struggled.
It definitely wasn't a lack of interest or ability. She loves languages and loves reading and has a natural gift for learning languages.
It had way more to do with process than with passion. She needed more than just tips to learn a new language. She needed help with the types of habits and routines that would make it easier to stay consistent, manage her time, and finally see results from all her effort.
It took her YEARS to realize what was missing from her own routine, and now she shares what she's learned about effective study techniques with other language learners.
Today we're sitting down with Bront'e to discuss her journey as an entrepreneur and how the Incubator has helped her take her passion for learning new languages and translate that (see what I did there?) into a business that makes a measurable difference for others. | 103: Why Supportive Business Coaching for Women Matters So Much, with Katie Kus | 10 Nov 2022 | 00:21:20
Sometimes it's easy for women business owners to get caught up in this idea that in order to be successful, they have to "win" at playing the game that male entrepreneurs have been playing for so long. So they work harder. They put in gruesomely long hours. They try to contort themselves into the mold of the Marketing Bro who's making it all happen all the time, at the exact same intensity levels, even though our bodies (and everything else in the natural world) operates on cycles. We know what this looks and feels like: women are burned out, unwell, struggling, and utterly exhausted. It stands to reason that business coaching for women should be different. We need coaching models that can fit a new paradigm: one that honors the feminine and cyclical living, that offers the community support that women had for thousands of years up until very recently, and that builds in rest and real self-care as a foundational principle of success. So today we're talking with holistic esthetician, solo mom, kickass CEO, and Incubator client Katie Kus about her amazing journey. We hope you see why we embrace the idea of business coaching for women — and why our approach meets women where they are and allows them to be fully themselves inside of the role of entrepreneur. | 102: Creating a mentoring business you love, with lifestyle photographer Sabrina Gebhardt | 03 Nov 2022 | 00:26:52
You don't have to look too far to see how often entrepreneurs who are practitioners of one kind or another transition to creating a mentoring business to help other practitioners in their field. I've done it (and love it!), and our guest today is another example of someone who has made the move from practitioner to mentor — and who has learned how to create a whole other thriving branch of her business. Sabrina Gebhardt started out as a lifestyle photographer, and she has built a very successful business around that gift. She started feeling the pull to come alongside other photographers and show them how to go from "starving artist" to "abundant entrepreneur." Et viola, the idea for a mentoring business was born. In November 2021, she joined the Success With Soul Incubator, and that's when her mentoring business really started to thrive. I think you're going to love her journey — especially if you're currently a practitioner who's looking to dip a toe into teaching/coaching others in your field, either as a way to transition completely (like I did) or to supplement/grow your business while you continue to practice your first love (like Sabrina is doing). | 101: Learning (as we go) about what makes a team great: a roundtable with Kate + friends | 27 Oct 2022 | 01:47:09
There is no getting around it: building and leading a team is hard, hard work. Even if you're a charismatic people-person. Even if you've managed people inside a corporate environment before. Even if you understand in concept what makes a team great. There's just so much energy and emotion that goes into creating this group of people who are helping you carry out the vision of your business, and whose livelihood and wellbeing also become part of your care and awareness. It's vulnerable, humbling work that's FULL of mistakes. And — when you start to find your groove and you're figuring out how to hire, train, and how to manage a team successfully, it's truly amazing. You get to see that great energy at work. You get to feel what it's like to have people who communicate well and who care about each other and about the business. You get to experience the joy of visions and projects and campaigns coming together. It's a wonderful feeling! Today, I'm sitting down with three women I admire so much and who have helped me in countless ways to become a better entrepreneur, leader, and person. Jordan Gill, Katie Read, and Kelsey Kerslake are coming into this conversation with such honesty, and I think that's precisely why it's such an important episode for any entrepreneur who's genuinely committed to being a solid leader of integrity and learning what makes a team efficient, engaged, and strong. | 100: [Behind the Team] What makes a team strong? Questions with Chief Operations Officer Indira Dejtiar | 20 Oct 2022 | 00:25:29
One of the unofficial mantras of Team KK and the work we do with women entrepreneurs is, We're not meant to do this alone. We need each other, and we need a solid team we can depend on. And perhaps nowhere is this more apparent than what goes into finding and hiring a Chief Operations Officer (COO). Your COO is really your right-hand woman — the person who keeps things running, who makes hiring decisions, who handles all things team-related, who ensures that we are putting all the systems in place so that Team KK can grow and hopefully impact as many lives as possible in the process. In short, she really is at the heart of what makes a strong team. You have to be able to trust her judgment, because the decisions she'll be making will affect everything. It's a huge job with many spinning plates, and it requires a very unique skill set to be able to pull off well. Because the Chief Operations Officer has to have a lively combo of both hard and soft skills. She has to understand organization and project management. She’s got to be a clear communicator. She has to have a heart for people. And she’s got to be on board with the vision and mission of the team you're supporting. If you've ever wondered What does a COO do? — well, the honest answer is "a bit of everything." Today we're going to dive in to get a clearer picture of Indira's indispensable team role and what makes a strong team that works well and efficiently together. What you’ll learn in this episode:
