Danny Crates: "I Looked Down and One Arm Was on My Lap" – When It’s Not About Winning, But Being Your Best.
This one’s huge. We’ve got Danny Crates on the pod – Paralympic gold medalist, world champion, and an all-around legend who’s turned his life story into a masterclass on resilience and determination. If you need inspiration, this episode is for you.
Danny breaks down the moment everything changed – a freak accident that cost him his arm. Instead of letting that be the end, it became the start of something bigger. From hospital days full of humor to stepping onto the rugby field with one arm, Danny’s story is all about thriving through adversity. He even takes us through training for the Paralympics, going from bronze in Sydney to gold in Athens. This guy doesn’t just compete – he dominates, and his mindset is something we can all learn from.
But it’s not just about medals. Danny opens up about life after sport – transitioning into broadcasting, becoming a top keynote speaker, and applying his “5 Pillars of Performance” to business and everyday life. He’s got this amazing ability to connect elite athletics to high performance in any field.
We also dive into the mental side – what separates good athletes from great ones and the mental barriers that hold people back. Whether you’re an athlete, business owner, or just looking to level up, Danny’s story will light a fire under you.
Hit play and get ready to feel fired up. You don’t want to miss this one.

Do What Is Fun for You and You Will Make Money - Jon Joseph Bourgerie Interview
Jon is the founder of the Modball Rally, the largest and most successful road trip party in the world, which takes place each year through the UK, Europe, America and Australia.
Now residing in Shoreditch, London, Jon was born in a small village and attended school in Wiltshire. He developed a strong sense of business acumen at an early age, and his entrepreneurial streak was encouraged by his father who instead of giving Jon weekly pocket money, would give him a £5 note and encourage him to buy and sell things to fellow students.
Within 3 months, Jon had created a mini confectionary empire at his school and was making £70 a week profit at the tender age of 12. However, the successful business venture came to an abrupt end after he was threatened with expulsion when his teachers discovered the reason behind a 30 per cent drop in the school canteen’s profits and a huge amount of chewing gum around the school.
The remainder of Jon’s school career passed without incident and he went on to university obtaining a batchelor’s degree in Advertising and Marketing, where he had the idea for the Modball Rally – a non-stop party road trip around Europe with some of the world’s fastest, best and most unusual cars. After graduating. Jon took a year out to concentrate on his other big passions – surfing and skydiving. He travelled the globe visiting some of the world’s best beaches and drop zones and working as a surfing instructor in Hawaii, but returning home twelve months later penniless.
Jon borrowed a friend’s sofa in London, walked everywhere, lived on Weetabix and landed a role at a advertising agency. He continued to dream of launching the Modball and he did it with the only asset he had, a Playstation with 21 games. Jon swapped his beloved Playstation with a colleague who agreed to build the first Modball website, six weeks later and a bit of convincing at Max Power magazine to announce the event Jon had sold out the first rally.
The first Modball event in Europe took place with 150 cars driving through Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Italy, France and Austria. It causes headlines all over the world with it’s unique combination of fast cars, models, partying, celebrity, music and travel.

You Have To FAIL to GROW Wilfred The Black Farmer Interview
Today we sit down with Wilfred The Black Farmer share our belief that success doesn't happen unless you learn from your failures first.
Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones - "Born in Jamaica my family came to the UK in the Windrush years in the 1950s. Brought up in inner-city Birmingham, I fulfilled my childhood dream to own a small piece of the British countryside, and when I turned 40 I bought my farm in Devon. Inspired by this and my love and support of British farming, I launched The Black Farmer brand."
But I didn’t stop there. I wanted to be sure that The Black Farmer brand not only celebrates British farming by using only British meat; but also supports the increasingly large community of people who have Coeliac disease, or a wheat and gluten intolerance.

The Business of TV Comedy and Trigger Happy TV - Dom Joly Interview
Dom Joly is a multi-award winning television comedian, journalist and travel-writer. Today we sit down with the Trigger Happy TV creator to discuss his rise and fall from comedy, business and his tips for others looking to walk in his footsteps.
Dom Joly was born on the 15th of November in 1967 in Beirut, Lebanon. He also speaks French, Arabic and Czech in addition to English. He attended Brummana High School in Lebanon, and in the UK, two independent schools: The Dragon School in Oxford and Haileybury College in Hertfordshire, followed by the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. In 2003, a new series of Trigger Happy TV was made for an American audience with an altered format that featured a band of different comedians who performed skits without Joly. Though Joly did cameo sporadically on the show, he was very unhappy with the programme. Following the success of Trigger Happy TV on Channel 4, Joly was secured by the BBC.
In 2009, Joly fronted a show titled Made in Britain, shown on the Blighty channel in the UK. In 2010, Joly published a travel book called The Dark Tourist: Sightseeing in the World's Most Unlikely Holiday Destinations, investigating dark tourism. In the book Joly travels to places that witnessed great tragedy and death, including Chernobyl. In the 1997 UK general election, Joly stood in Kensington and Chelsea against Alan Clark. Hiring out hundreds of teddy bear costumes, he staged mock protests at Westminster and came fifth out of nine candidates, receiving 218 votes (0.6%). In 2019, he became a member of the Liberal Democrats.
Joly is married to a Canadian graphic designer. Having lived in Notting Hill before their children were born, Joly and his wife bought a property in the Cotswolds. They sold his flat to Salman Rushdie.
