Season 18 Ep 5: Feeling stuck lately? Unstuck yourself.27 Aug 202400:33:57

Ever feel just fed up? Stuck? Maybe even a little depressed?

WELL - join the club lol! WHY? Because we’re human and ALL of us are having a human experience.

There are TONS of things that can make us feel this way:

- A Breakup

- Loss of a job or opportunity

- A misunderstanding with a friend or family

- A disappointing outcome

- A series of bad/emotional choices

And YES - It sucks. Every single time!

Usually when we feel like this our first instinct is to do something drastic in response to feel like we’re in "control of the situation”. That is nothing but an emotion fueled response. OPPOSITE of an emotionally intelligent response. Join the conversation as we dive deep into to this conversation.

Season 17 Ep 11 - Cultura and Cash with Gigi the first gen mentor04 Aug 202400:19:08

Today, we sat down with Gigi, a financial educator and bestselling author of Cultura & Cash! She's on a mission to empower first-generation students and young professionals of color entering the workplace to confidently manage their money, pay off debt, build generational wealth, and gain financial freedom. The first-generation and BIPOC experience often comes without a roadmap aka guidance, insight, and knowledge enjoyed by many of our peers around navigating higher education and professional spaces.

As a first-gen Latina, she's experienced the discomfort and overwhelm that comes from attempting to manage, invest, and grow her income as the first in the family to enter these spaces. She's experienced reaching the level of success her family dreamed of, and has the desire to give back and uplift the same people who sacrificed so much to help get her here.

Season 17 Ep: 8 Say YES to life27 Jul 202400:32:46

For most of us, our immediate reply is “no.” Yes, we even think “no” because our brains are so good at coming up with reasons for why we can’t do things. I can’t take time off work. I have to do a mountain of laundry. I don’t feel good in any of my going-out outfits. This is just another example of how we put our lives on hold for One Day When… we’re thinner, richer, smarter, or whatever criticism we’re feeling particularly strongly that day. What does it mean to say “yes” to life — to surrender to what is! Can you, truly, say “yes” to life?

Season 17 Ep 5: SOLITUDE VS. LONLINESS22 Jul 202400:27:12

It's essential to differentiate solitude from isolation or loneliness. We define solitude as a healthy, personal discipline that allows you to engage in meaningful self-reflection. Loneliness, however, is a state of “sadness”because one has no friends or company. Although loneliness and solitude are sometimes used interchangeably, they are not the same thing. Today, we dive deep into the difference between both and how when you learn to embrace solitude you can really enhance your life in such a beautiful way.

Season 17 Ep 3: Adversity is important13 Jul 202400:21:23

So let’s talk about this. ANY time you are trying to align yourself with your purpose, when you’re trying to be obedient, when you’re trying to level up, EXPECT adversity to come your way! It’s like the tax we pay for the new level we’re about to reach.
Like the saying goes… NEW levels, NEW devils
It’s not fun. The timing is usually wrong, and oftentimes it’s a great inconvenience, but you
should expect it and be prepared for it. But if you stop and pause you realize that adversity actually has a positive effect on our lives! CRAZY WE KNOW! Let's talk about it...

Season 17 Ep 2: What’s a Self-Contract?09 Jul 202400:31:56

I’m sure that you’ve probably seen every kind of contract there is. After all, you’ve made contracts with your vendors, your clients, your freelancers and your employees. You even have a contract with your spouse! If you want to achieve your personal goals and be productive day in, day out, we  propose you create a self-contract so you’ll stay focused on your goals. A self-contract is kind of commitment where you write down what you want to achieve as well as how to achieve it. Often, it also clearly states any rewards for completing the contract as well as any penalties for breaking it. We know what you’re thinking: “Well, I don’t think having a contract with myself will work for me.” Well a contract, even one that you make with yourself, is a powerful motivator.

Season 16 Ep 11: Word of the year17 Jun 202400:19:03

As 2023 gets underway, the chatter about resolutions will persist.

People want to exercise more, read more books, unplug from devices, and drink their requisite amount of water every day. For several years, we fell into the trap of making resolutions but quickly realized that that lost traction. So, we decided several years ago to switch it up from resolutions to a word or phrase of the year. Our WORD implementation has helped us both tremendously focus on that word or phrase all year, but it especially helps as a reminder when things get confusing or hazy. WHAT WILL YOUR WORD or PHRASE OF THE YEAR BE?

Melancholic, Choleric, Sanguine, and Phlegmatic— have been used to analyze personalities for over two thousand years, since the time of Aristotle and Hippocrates.

Your unique biological makeup is called your temperament. It’s the “why” behind your personality. It determines how people interpret words, actions, relationships, and respond to them.

Season 16 Ep 1: The POWER of asking the right questions26 Jan 202400:28:13

We live in a world that values answers. We were taught in school to learn how to answer questions in exams, we were conditioned to go to work knowing that we need to have the answers and our society, by and large, focuses on finding the solutions rather than figuring out if we are asking the right questions. Just like most people who have been through the traditional education system and started working in a corporate job, were trained to have the answers. We would like to shed some light on the skill of asking the right questions. For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way. Today's episode we dive deep into the conversation.

Season 15 Ep 11: Doing Nothing is Actually One of the Best Things You Can Do16 Jan 202400:30:40

In a world full of major stressors and to-do lists, it can be difficult finding the time to just do well, absolutely nothing. But, here is why you should start.

When was the last time you did nothing?

By nothing, we mean absolutely nothing- no scrolling on social media, no reading books or articles, no lisening to podcasts, no watching movies, TV, or youtube videos.

Well if you are like many Americans, you'll probably have to stop and think about it, because we don't "do nothing" very often.

Americans need to take a chill pill.

Sadly, so much of our doingness has resulted from a cultured brain washing that tells us that compulstive busyness is a requisite for being a decent human being and decent employee. As a result, workaholic behaviors like checking your email during off hours or going into the office on the weekend have become a norm for many.
