Episode #106 - The Joys of Compounding with Gautam Baid
mercredi 5 novembre 2025 • Duration 01:00:10
In this episode, we sit down with Gautam Baid, the acclaimed author and founder of a Buffett-style investment partnership, who reveals why compounding isn't just a financial phenomenon—it's the ultimate force shaping life, decisions, and enduring success. From his pivot out of high-stakes investment banking in Asia to embracing long-term value investing, Gautam shares the behavioral edge that separates winners from the crowd, emphasizing emotional mastery over mere analytics.
We dive deep into spotting true "compounding machines"—businesses with unbreakable moats, high-quality characteristics, and the power to turn patience into exponential wealth—while steering clear of deceptive value traps. Gautam unpacks his ideal portfolio: a deliberate balance of concentrated conviction in a handful of elite names and just enough diversification for survival, all guided by market wisdom without falling into speculative frenzies.
Drawing from Charlie Munger's mental models and the inversion technique ("find reasons NOT to buy"), he illustrates how to sidestep costly mistakes with practical fund examples. Gautam also paints a bullish picture of India's structural trends for the next decade—demographics, digitization, and infrastructure—while debunking Western misconceptions and highlighting overlooked opportunities in his US-focused India fund. Bear markets, he says, teach visceral lessons no book can, and true freedom comes from compounding toward financial independence that liberates your time and choices.
Finally, reflecting on 20 years of triumphs and grateful errors, Gautam distills lifelong learning into a disciplined daily reading routine and offers hard-won advice to his younger self: prioritize quality over cheapness, invert problems to avoid failure, and let the market reveal the real winners. We hope you enjoyed this episode.

Episode #105 - Capital Rotation with Kevin Wadsworth
mercredi 29 octobre 2025 • Duration 01:09:01
In this episode, we sit down with Kevin Wadsworth from NorthstarBadcharts.com, who brings a fascinating twist to market forecasting—drawing straight from his 34 years as a UK Met Office meteorologist. He breaks down how the same disciplined, data-driven tools used to predict storms (think moving averages, Fibonacci levels, support and resistance, and ratio charts) can help you read the markets with clarity and confidence.
Right now, gold is in a full-blown bull market, and Kevin’s big rule? Stop thinking in dollars—start measuring everything in ounces. As long as Gold is outperforming the stock markets, he advocates to focus on gold and assets that are outperforming gold on a relative basis, like mining stocks, royalty and streaming companies, silver, uranium, and possibly energy plays in the near future.
One of his standout insights is the capital rotation thesis. Through the lens of the gold-to-S&P 500 ratio, S&P 500 is breaking down in a way we haven’t seen since the 1970s. That’s not just noise—it could signal a massive “super capital rotation” out of stocks and into hard assets, setting the stage for big moves the years ahead.
We also touched in on gold miners represented by mining ETF´s —which has underperformed gold for over 55 years. But Kevin isn’t totally writing them off, but they need to prove themselves. He uses ratio charts to track their relative strength and says the smart move is patience: wait for clear, confirmed breakouts before jumping in. No emotional entries, no chasing hype—just solid risk management and clean exits.
We hope you enjoyed this episode in a video format.

Morten forvalter egen eiendomsportefølje som i skrivende stund tikker over 100 millioner kroner.
I episoden dekket vi over mange interessante temaer innen eiendomsinvestering.
