Cynara Stelenhoef is my guest for this episode. We Sat down at the end of 2019 where Cynara shared her story of being a parent, wife, her introduction to runner and what she has planned for the future.

Episode 2 of The Read to Comrades I catch up with Wayne, Sandy and Darren to see how the fortnight has gone since we last spoke.
Wayne speaks about successfully won the Australia Day Ultra 50km race and bounced back well the days after.
Sandy speaks about starting to build consistency and the confidence she got from completing her recent long run.
Darren also speaks about getting consistence, he has started his exercises and he can see an improvement in his running already.

Road to Comrades Episode 4 is in the peak phase of training. Marnie is in to the real meat of her maiden comrades voyage doing over 200km and embracing the challenge.
Wayne is in camp with the nedbank happy bunch. They have just ticked off a 300km week and next week head to altitude to put the final topping on the cake. He is feeling confident heading into his favourite direction.

The Comrades Marathon is the world oldest and largest Ultra Marathon. The direction of the race alternates each year between the "up" run (87 km) starting from Durban and the "down" run (90km) starting from Pietermaritzburg.
For this years race we will have an arm chair ride which will follow the preparation of 3 runners:
Wayne Spies - 9 time finisher and best time of 6:21
Sandy Roux - 11 time finisher and best time of 9:55.
Darren Purnell - Novice.
We will hear from them on a fortnightly basis and check in on how the preparation is going.

Dan like most threw his shoes on in the pursuit to shed some extra kilos and all those years later he is still going. A council ranger by day Dan like many has also fought mental health battles over the years being diagnosed with depression which we discuss and the role he plays in trying to grow awareness.
