Chad Lowe "Life Goes On"

Episode 31

lundi 26 août 2024Duration 01:20:49

This is Still Here Hollywood, I’m Steve Kmetko. Join me with today’s guest, director, and Emmy winning actor, Chad Lowe.

Actors in Hollywood often wear different hats throughout their career. Most are content performing the lines and roles written for them. Others like to branch out and flex as many creative muscles as they can, all while lending support to who might be their famous siblings and spouses.

And sometimes people in Hollywood don’t necessarily get the “thanks” the observers think they might deserve.

Steve Kmetko Firing from E! Encore

Episode 30

lundi 19 août 2024Duration 41:32

As a longtime entertainment reporter, I'm accustimed to "asking" the questions...

The rule has been, if you're holding the microphone, your job is to find out about the person you're aiming the mic at.

Today is different... I was asked to leave hollyood 20 years ago. Let's just say it wasn't my choice. Then again, to say that my life has been a strugggle after leaving the red carpets and achnor chair, would be overstating things. A little.

I knew the job was dangerous when i took it. ;)

This is Still Here Hollywood, and today, I'll telll you the story that I've never told, fully.

In recovery you learn "you're only as sick as your secrets". So with that in mind, I'm leaving the questioning to "Friend of the podcast", actor Amy Yasbeck.

Peri Gilpin "Frasier" Encore

Episode 21

lundi 17 juin 2024Duration 01:00:58

This is Still Here Hollywood, I’m Steve Kmetko. Join me and today’s guest from Frasier, Peri Gilpin.

Strong, independent, women in TV comedies have always been a hallmark of the genre. Dishing out laughs, while solving problems with wisecracks, is comedy gold.

For 11 seasons, starting in 1993, there was one woman on NBC who perfectly sliced and diced the punchlines with her sharp tongued delivery.

George Wendt "Cheers"

Episode 19

lundi 3 juin 2024Duration 31:58

This is STILL HERE HOLLYWOOD, I’m Steve Kmetko. Join me with today’s guest, George Wendt, Norm from “Cheers”.

When you think about the biggest comedy shows in television’s history, there are always a few things that stand out. There’s of course the writing. The ensemble cast. Sometimes, the music. And there’s very often at least one character who’s name resonates, staying in pop culture for decades. This fact is pretty much the “norm”.

And it’s that Norm, that I’m talking about…

Episode 18

lundi 27 mai 2024Duration 01:03:37

This is Still Here Hollywood. I’m Steve Kmetko. Join me with today’s guest, and one of the stars of “Wings”, Steven Weber.

One of the biggest phrases ever dreamed up in the TV marketing world, was “Must See TV”.

In the 90’s, NBC and “Must See TV” became destination television for the entire country on Thursday nights. There was Seinfeld, Friends, Frasier, ER… And another show that was perfectly cast, about a tiny airline in Nantucket, run by two witty and engaging brothers. That show was “Wings”.

Episode 16

lundi 13 mai 2024Duration 40:43

This is STILL HERE HOLLYWOOD, I’m Steve Kmetko. Join me with today’s guest, Natasha Henstridge of “Species”.

In Hollywood, aliens coming to earth has been a “go to” theme for screenwriters for decades.

And of course, not all of the “creatures from the beyond” are as adorable and gentle as “ET”. Some are here to wreak havoc among the human race…

In 1995, one classic alien movie brought a horrible creature to earth, perfectly packaged as one of the most beautiful women to ever walk our planet.

Jillian Barberie "NFL on Fox"

Episode 14

lundi 29 avril 2024Duration 55:27

This is Still Here Hollywood, I’m Steve Kmetko. Join me with today’s guest, Host - Actress - Model, and cancer survivor, Jillian Barberie.

If there’s anything  you learn about when coming to California to “give it a try” in Hollywood, is that it’s rarely as glamorous or carefree as it may appear.

Chasing stardom can lead down many paths. And becoming the “personality” that you’re hired to be, can be a challenge.

And sometimes life tosses a wring into those plans and career. And it’s not always a small wrench.
