Mid-Atlantic Outdoorsmen - Gunnfish TV! with Kevin Gunn

Episode 171

jeudi 10 juillet 2025Duration 01:12:20

In this episode I have Kevin Gunn from the Gunnfish TV youtube channel on the show. It turns out, Kevin is as cool and laid back in an interview as he is in his youtube videos. Kevin is a tournament bass angler, extremely passionate bow hunter and turkey hunter. For the first half of the episode Kevin and I talk about various different deer and turkey hunting topics, ranging from the difference between "huntable and non-huntable bucks", spooking deer you never know you spooked, strange pieces of habitat that seem to hang up stubborn long beards.. and more. For the second half we switched gears and talked about bass fishing tactics on both tidal rivers and stagnant bodies of water and how they differ. Kevin also shared insight on how he got his start in content creation world. Overall an awesome episode with Kevin, thanks for listening!!

On this episode of The Wisconsin Sportsman, Pierce sits down with Tim Landwehr, owner of Tight Lines Fly Fishing Company to talk all about targeting giant smallmouth on the fly! Missouri Woods & Water - Bass Fishing Tips with Pro Angler Doug Vahrenberg

Episode 71

mardi 9 juin 2020Duration 01:28:52

In today's episode, Nate and Andy talk with pro angler Doug Vahrenberg about some bass fishing.  Doug talks about his start fishing farm ponds and how he got from there to the bass master pro circuit.  He also gives tips on basic equipment needs if you are wanting to get in to bass fishing.  Doug also gets in to how bass respond to different situations and ways you can use different conditions to your advantage.  Another piece of equipment Doug is a big fan of is electronics.  He spends a lot of his time in this area of fishing from testing new items to teaching other anglers how to use fishing electronics on his YouTube channel.

Another topic we hit on is getting the younger generation in to fishing.  There are now high school and college fishing teams forming across our country.  He talks about a few organizations that are supporting the movement to get fishing in to schools.  We have included a few show links to some of those pages if you know someone interested in learning more about that.  Enjoy the show!

Freshwater Bite - The Airborne Angler

Episode 69

mercredi 3 juin 2020Duration 01:06:07

This has to be one of my favorite podcasts to date! I am joined by Martin Szeliga, a.k.a. The Airborne Angler.  Martin has such a unique story about how he migrated to this great country, to his time served in the military and how he fell in love with fishing.  Anyone who lives here in the state of Michigan, specifically the Saginaw Bay Area has probably got an ice scouting report or aerial view condition report from Martin.  You see Martin has taken his curiosity and love of angling to the sky’s to get a different perspective of the bay before heading out to fish. Over the years he decided to share his knowledge and use his flying skills to provide anglers with an arsenal of tools to use however they see fit to stay safe and make educated decisions before heading out on the big water.  The Airborne Angler’s obsession with figuring out walleye has led him to take a deeper dive in all aspects of fishing from locating structure, filming underwater bites with his Spydro Fishing cam, teaching us how to read our fish sonars, GPS and more.  Please do yourself a favor and check him out over at www.theairborneangler.com and listen to this entire podcast as it is filled with great conversation and a fascinating way to scout.  Please Subscribe!!
