A podcast from my heart to your own. You will note this podcast is a bit all over the place. However, I believe God wanted me to speak to that one person who is feeling overwhelmed or frustrated about how the year has started. I'm praying deeply this will enable you to move beyond overwhelm to the deep love God has for you. My prayer is that you will see God in the pain, trials and disappointment. My prayer is you will allow him to define you. My prayer is you will allow His Spirit to overcome your feelings and doubts. I had the privilege of discussing Mental Health one of the amazing women I know! It was an absolute honour to get to interview Ms Toyin Akinfolarin about the topic of how mental health and how this impacts young people.  

 

Ms Toyin Akinfolarin has over 20 years of experience working with people with enduring mental illnesses and emotional disturbances. She is a certified Health and life coach, an emotional health navigator, a children’s ministry leader and is a mentor to many young people

I hope this podcast helps you feel heard and seen. My prayer is that this podcast equips you and empowers you. When I listened to this podcast I felt a sense of joy because I knew this is what I needed at my lowest and I was grateful that God would use this episode to reach people.

My inspiration for this podcast was due to the tug of war between laying down my imperfections and anxiety than trying to appear blameless through my own strength. I recorded this because I felt a burden that God is calling more and more of us to abide in him!   This podcast is to encourage you to run back to your place of Safety. That even when you feel that anxiety, fear, insecurity, doubt, smallness and every lie that says you are not good enough.   You run into his arms. Your place of safety is in him! It might get threatened but the truth keeps you secured in him. Yay! The first podcast of 2020 has been uploaded.  In this podcast, I summarise my top 3 lessons from 2020. 

These lessons played a crucial role in my personal development in 2020, I also feel like they are lessons that young people undervalue in this fast pace life.

Below are some of the key lessons I share:

• Value of good mentorship that aligns with God’s will! (Do you have the capacity to be mentored ?).
• The importance of intimacy in our friendships (Do you really have real friends, is vulnerability a thing ?)
• Value personal growth more than execution (Do I value showing my gifts rather than truly growing in God) These lessons have taken over 7 years to learn but in 2020 the realisation became much clearer.
