In this episode, pastor and author Kristin Mockler Young returns to Spirit Outspoken to talk about her new book, The Other Side of Certainty. She shares why so many people quietly wonder if they’re crazy or alone for questioning, and why changing your mind is part of growing in faith, not walking away from it.

Jaisa and Rachael dig into deconstruction and the religious shame that keeps so many people performing and proving. Kristin explains how to find your own holy burden instead of feeling guilty for everything you’re not doing, how to trust your discernment and see God in unexpected places, how to stay curious and compassionate with family and friends who don’t understand your journey.and why “I don’t know” can be one of the most faithful answers there is.

If you’re tired of performing, proving or feeling alone in your faith, this conversation offers a more honest, freeing and hopeful way forward.

Minisode 10.23.26: What are the most influential books you've read?23 oct. 202600:18:08

The books that rewired their faith, calmed their minds, and changed how they see life are finally out in the open. Jaisa and Rachael share the most influential reads in their libraries, from spiritual classics to astrology texts, and explain why these are the books they return to when they need clarity, comfort, or a completely new lens.

Together, they compare notes on the titles that shaped their thinking, including The Untethered Soul, A New Earth, The Power of Now, Jesus Calling, Richard Rohr's contemplative Christianity, and Stephen Forrest's astrology books Inner Sky and Yesterday's Sky. They also talk about why some books land only at the right time, why rereading matters, and how a great book can act like therapy for your heart and soul.

You’ll discover:

  • The book that helped separate soul from ego and quiet constant mental chatter
  • Why A New Earth and The Power of Now hit differently when you are ready for them
  • How Jesus Calling and Richard Rohr offer daily spiritual grounding without feeling heavy or preachy
  • Why Stephen Forrest's writing makes complex astrology feel poetic, precise, and personal
  • How to use books as a tool for self-reflection, healing, and practical guidance

If you have ever wanted a reading list that actually means something - not just books to collect, but books that shift how you live - this episode gives you a deeply personal starting point. It’s especially perfect if you’re craving spiritual growth, calmer thoughts, or a more expansive way to understand yourself and your path.

And if you finish this episode with a longer wishlist, you’re not alone. Jaisa and Rachael even point listeners to their full recommended reading section at spiritoutspoken.com so you can keep the momentum going.

How a Near-Death Experience Changed Everything He Believed About Heaven w/ Vinney Tolman21 oct. 202601:00:44

What if heaven isn’t a reward waiting at the end of your life, but something you can step into right now?

In this episode, Vinney Tolman, author of The Light After Death, shares the near-death experience that turned his understanding of Christianity upside down. Raised to see life as a courtroom where souls are sorted for heaven or hell, Vinney found himself watching his own death, then being met by a loving guide he later recognized in a family photo as one of his ancestors.

Jaisa and Rachael dig into what he saw on the other side, why he came back feeling more Christian than ever, and what he learned about fear, love and the teachings of Jesus, the one he calls Yeshua.

The ladies also explore whether heaven is a place, a choice or a state of being, why Vinney sees hell as fear we choose until it starts choosing us, and how reincarnation may have once been part of Christian thought.

This conversation is for anyone who was taught to fear the afterlife and is ready to imagine something far more loving.

Vinney Tolman:
Vincent “Vinney” Tolman is the author of The Light After Death: My Journey to Heaven and Back. Since his near-death experience, he has shared his story around the world, inviting people to see heaven, love and faith through a far more expansive lens.

Episode 102: The Divine Feminine, Mary Magdalene and Trusting Your Own Body w/ Chelsea Kim Long07 oct. 202601:05:02

The patriarchy didn’t just shape Christianity, it taught women to distrust their bodies, intuition, and spiritual knowing.

In this episode, Chelsea Kim Long, author of Faithfully Dissident Daughters, shares the awakening that led her to rethink purity culture, embodiment, church history, and the divine feminine. This episode provides a deep conversation about what women have been taught to fear, why pregnancy became a turning point in her faith, and what can happen when women begin trusting themselves again.

Chelsea explores how male-centered theology can make God feel distant, how biblical language around birth and being “born again” can open the door to a more feminine understanding of the divine, and why representation matters, in faith, community, and our understanding of God.

The ladies discuss Mary Magdalene, the women surrounding Jesus, and scholarship that questions whether their roles were minimized over time. Chelsea shares the theory that Mary of Bethany and Mary Magdalene may have been the same woman, why that possibility matters, and how scripture can look different when read through the lenses of mysticism, embodiment, and contemplative Christianity.

This conversation is for anyone deconstructing, reconstructing, or wondering whether a more expansive and life-giving Christianity has been there all along.

Our guest:
Chelsea Kim Long is the author of Faithfully Dissident Daughters and a writer, speaker, and spiritual seeker whose work explores Christianity through embodiment, mysticism, and the divine feminine. Her work invites people to approach progressive Christianity with greater honesty, curiosity, and freedom.

Episode 101: Taught to Question Everything Except Your Faith: A Baptist Preacher on Deconstruction w/ Kristian A. Smith30 sept. 202600:58:48

What happens when you're taught to think critically about everything except your faith? Kristian A. Smith, a pastor, author, public theologian and fifth-generation Baptist preacher, found out on day one of seminary, when a professor told his class the Bible is not the word of God.

In this episode, Jaisa and Rachael sit down with Kristian to talk deconstruction, fear-based religion and what changes when hell is no longer the thing keeping you in line. He shares why Jesus has become a mascot for Christian nationalism, why even Jesus had to evolve, and how honoring lived experience guides the faith community he pastors.

They also dig into his greatest commandment theology, the idea that loving God, loving your neighbor and loving yourself are a package deal, and sit with the big question underneath it all: who is Jesus beyond the way institutions have defined him?

If you've ever been told your questions were dangerous, this one is for you.

Our guest: Kristian A. Smith is a pastor, public theologian, and digital pastor of The Faith Community Virtual, an inclusive, justice-rooted online community where people from all backgrounds can gather, connect, learn, ask big questions, and explore faith together.

He is the author of Question Your Answers: A Deconstruction Survival Guide, a resource for anyone navigating the kinds of questions and shifts this episode explores, as well as his latest book, Breaking All the Rules: An Ancient Framework for Modern Faith, available on Audible and Amazon.

Kristian is also the host (and resident heretic) of Holy Smokes: Cigars & Spirituality, where cigars, laughter, theology, and honest conversation come together to deconstruct harmful beliefs and build beloved community, one cigar at a time.

Episode 100: Is Jesus Bigger Than Christianity?23 sept. 202600:39:46

If God isn't limited to Jesus, why is Jesus limited to Christianity? In the 100th episode, Jaisa and Rachael wrestle with the question that has shaped two years of Spirit Outspoken: can Jesus exist beyond the boundaries of Christianity?

They go back to the receipts. The light that existed before the sun in Genesis. John 1 and the true light that enlightens everyone. Theosis, and a goal of transformation, not just salvation. Justin Martyr calling Socrates a Christian before Christ. Paul and the altar to an unknown God. The Good Samaritan, theologically wrong and still the hero.

This isn't a finished answer. It's a working thesis, built out loud, and you're invited into it: Christ did not begin at Bethlehem, and wherever love is, God is there.

One hundred episodes in, and it feels like they're just getting started.

Episode 99: The Gospel According to Dolly Parton: Love, Judgment, and the God Spark16 sept. 202600:34:43

The flags are at half mast for a woman who never held office. That alone tells you something about who Dolly Parton was.

Jaisa and Rachael honor her, and sit with the thing that keeps surfacing as the tributes come in. Conservative Christians and drag queens. The LGBTQ community, the Black community, and the Pentecostal church that raised her. Almost nobody gets claimed by all of those rooms, and she managed it without softening who she was.

They walk through the one room cabin, the eleven siblings, the father who never learned to read. Then the part this show cares about most. Dolly believed there was a God spark in every person and made it her job to go looking for it. She called herself spiritual rather than religious, and refused, repeatedly and on the record, to judge anybody.

Hard to argue with love.

Episode 98: Who Am I Now? Identity, Surrender and the End of an Eclipse Cycle09 sept. 202600:36:26

Jaisa and Rachael hit record on this one at the kitchen table, mid mental breakdown, on the theory that they could not possibly be the only ones.

August 27 was the lunar eclipse in Pisces, and it closed an eclipse cycle that opened in September 2024. Which happens to be the exact month Spirit Outspoken launched. Two years of the Virgo Pisces axis doing its work, and neither of them came out the other side as the same person.

In this episode they get into what that cycle has actually been asking. Virgo wants order and analysis and the reassurance that if you just get everything right, you will be safe. Pisces wants surrender, and faith in what cannot be proven or controlled. Sitting between those two is deeply uncomfortable, and this is an honest account of that discomfort from inside it.

Rachael talks about the chameleon years and what it costs to finally have a voice. Jaisa talks about grieving an identity she spent a career building, and the strange experience of feeling something in your body long before your mind catches up.

If you have mutable placements, or you have just felt unrecognizable to yourself lately, you are not alone. Come lament in the comments.

Episode 97: Is It Our Job to Point Out Sin? Judgment, Grace and LGBTQ Inclusion w/ Joash P. Thomas02 sept. 202600:14:09

Every time we talk about loving our LGBTQ neighbors, the same question shows up in our comments: isn't it our job as Christians to point out sin?

In this bonus episode, priest and public theologian Joash P. Thomas answers it. The only people Jesus talks about judgment with are religious leaders abusing their power. Everyone else gets grace. Joash argues the pressure to correct other people never came from Jesus, it came from colonizers and the western church that learned its theology from them, and he makes his case for LGBTQ inclusion straight from the book of Acts, where the Spirit is always out ahead and the church struggles to keep up.

He also answers the question a family member really asked him, "would you ever marry the gays," with a sacramental answer we did not see coming.

Short episode, big exhale. It brings the whole thing back to love, which was always the point.

Episode 96: What a Psychic Medium Came to Understand About Jesus w/ Kathleen Ives26 août 202601:04:15

If you’ve ever wondered whether there’s more happening around you than what you can see, this conversation is for you.

Kathleen Ives spent kindergarten through 12th grade in Catholic school, eventually swung about as close to atheism as you can get, and today works as a psychic medium and intuitive guide. Somewhere along the way, Jesus reentered the picture unexpectedly. She didn’t go looking for him, and for a long time, she resisted what she was experiencing.

In this conversation, Jaisa and Rachael talk with Kathleen about what it actually means to connect with spirit, how she experiences the unseen world, and why ideas that can sound “woo woo” begin to feel very different when viewed through the lens of energy, frequency, and curiosity rather than fear.

They explore signs, synchronicities, intuition, and the possibility that there may be far more happening around us than we typically notice.

And then the conversation goes somewhere Kathleen never expected: back to Jesus. Not as a figure we’re meant to hand our power over to, but as a healer whose life and teachings may have been pointing toward what is possible within all of us. For Kathleen, Mary Magdalene became an unexpected doorway back to understanding him - and that opens up an entirely different conversation about faith, power, and spirituality.

This episode is an invitation to stay curious about the unseen, loosen our certainty, and consider what might become possible when we stop being afraid of what we don’t yet understand.

Our guest: Kathleen Ives is a spirit medium, intuitive coach, death educator and author who walks women through life's most tender seasons of change, grief and growth. Her work is a reminder that even in the heaviest chapters, it is safe to feel good again.

Episode 95: Jesus, Krishna and the Illusion of Separation w/ Taylor Perkins19 août 202600:47:49

What if the fear, chaos and searching all come from one belief, that we're separate from God, from one another, and from the parts of ourselves we were taught to reject? Taylor Perkins joins Jaisa and Rachael for a conversation about union, faith, and the illusion of separation.

Taylor's argument is that the divine was never something outside of us we're straining to reach. We get into Jesus and Krishna, why Jesus kept talking about weddings and bridal chambers, and what "I and the Father are one" actually claims.

Then it gets personal. Reality is a mirror, so the pieces of ourselves we bury keep showing up outside of us. Taylor shares what finally moved a 20 year struggle, and it wasn't fighting harder.

Episode 94: Parenting by Moon Sign: What Every Child Needs to Feel Safe12 août 202600:42:24

What if your child isn't giving you a hard time, but telling you exactly what they need? In this episode Jaisa and Rachael use each child's moon sign as a map to what makes them feel safe, what makes them feel threatened, and how they process big emotions.

They open with Proverbs 22:6 and the Hebrew scholarship that reframes "train up a child" as parenting toward a child's natural bend, not forcing them straight, and how the birth chart illustrates that every child is divinely and uniquely made. Then they walk through all 12 moon signs, what each child needs, what to avoid, and the God given design in each, with real stories from their own homes, and close with a simple way to teach kids their own charts.

Episode 93: "No Sex Before Marriage" Isn't Biblical: Rethinking Purity Culture and Sexual Immorality w/ Mattie Mae Motl05 août 202601:00:09

"No sex before marriage" isn't actually in the Bible, and neither is the single "biblical marriage" purity culture sold us. Jaisa and Rachael sit down with Bible scholar Mattie Mae Motl to ask what scripture really says about sex, gender, and sexuality once you strip away the rules we inherited.

They dig into what "sexual immorality" actually meant (exploitative sex, not premarital sex), how religion has long been used to control women's bodies, and why the body is an access to the divine, not an obstacle to it. Mattie shares her own purity culture upbringing, why "praying the gay away" is harmful, why sexuality is a spectrum, and what the Trevor Project data says about affirming homes. It closes on reading the Bible through love of God and neighbor, raising kids around sex without shame, and a little astrology to send us off.

About our guest: Mattie Mae Motl is a Bible scholar and PhD candidate at the University of St Andrews, a writer, creator, mother, and an openly queer voice in this space.

Episode 92: The 5 Stages of Deconstruction: What Happens When Faith Falls Apart and Comes Back Together29 juil. 202600:41:31

Deconstruction isn't a crisis of faith, it's a process, and it turns out that process has stages. this week jaisa and rachael walk through the five researched stages of faith deconstruction and reconstruction, and share where they've each landed.

It starts with the catalyst, the wound or question or piece of biblical history that first makes you pause. then questioning and research, where the anxiety of "is any of this true?" lives. then grief, because deconstruction really does cost you certainty, community, and the version of god you were handed. then deconstruction proper, where you decide what stays and read scripture through the fourfold lens the early church used. and finally reconstruction or release, and the question underneath all of it: what does faith look like when it's chosen, not inherited?

Wherever you are in it, you're exactly where you're supposed to be.

Go deeper on the fourfold lens: we break it down through the hot-button Christian topics in our ebook.

Our friend Joash P. Thomas is back on Spirit Outspoken. He's a priest, a public theologian, and the author of The Justice of Jesus, and this conversation goes deep into mysticism, empire, and the parts of church history nobody taught us in Sunday school.

We start with Mother Mary. Joash opens up about his own mystical experiences with her, and how becoming open to acknowledging the saints can be such a beautiful, supplemental expansion of our faith. From there we talk guardian angels, patron saints, and the communion of saints described in Hebrews 12.

Then we go deeper into history. Joash walks us through the colonial roots of empire, including the surprising, colonial era origin of the phrase "the Great Commission," and why understanding that history frees us from the pressure to convert anyone to our way of thinking. The beauty in what he reveals brings us back to the whole point of the gospels, which is simply to love.

If you've ever felt like your mysticism and your Christianity were at odds, or wondered where some of these teachings actually came from, this episode is for you.

Topics covered: Mother Mary and mystical experience, guardian angels and patron saints, the communion of saints, the colonial history of empire and the Great Commission, and rediscovering love as the true point of the gospel.

Episode 90 Your Moon Sign Is Your Emotional Blueprint15 juil. 202600:56:27

In this episode, Jaisa and Rachael break down one of astrology's most misunderstood placements and why it might be the most important one you've never paid attention to.  Your moon sign,  who you are when the performance is over. When you're home. When nobody's watching.

They start with the science. The moon pulls ocean tides. It raises and lowers the earth's crust by 30 centimeters. It shifts human sleep cycles, hormonal patterns, and psychiatric episodes. If the moon can do all of that to physical matter, what is it doing to the 60% water that makes up your body?

Then Jaisa shares a stunning synchronicity. A divine appointment that literally stopped traffic to connect her with another cancer mom, and how her moon omens reading that same night explained every single moment of it in real time.

From there they walk through all 12 moon signs. The core emotional need of each one. What it looks like when you're thriving in it. And what happens when you're not.

You'll leave this episode knowing yourself in a completely different way.

This is astrology as a tool for spiritual self-understanding. Not fortune-telling. Not witchcraft. Just a language, one that God can use to speak to you, if you let Him.

In this episode:

•The real science behind how the moon affects your body, your sleep, and your emotions

•Jaisa’s story of divine intervention through a drawbridge in Duluth

•The difference between your sun sign and your moon sign, and why the moon hits different

•A full breakdown of all 12 moon signs: healthy, unhealthy, and what your core need really is

•How understanding moon signs transforms your relationships, your parenting, and your self-compassion

Episode 89: The Human Biofield: Dr. Jason Yuan on Energy Healing, Cancer Research, and the Science Behind Laying on of Hands08 juil. 202600:54:35

Jaisa's son's tumor took up ninety percent of his chest. Seven days later, it was gone.

In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Jason Yuan, a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist who has spent years studying the human biofield, the energy field that modern science can measure but still can't fully explain. We break down a groundbreaking study from MD Anderson Cancer Center, where visualization based healing methods reduced cancer spread in mice by fifty percent, and talk about what that means for the future of medicine.

We also explore the biblical roots of energy healing, including what Jesus may have meant by laying on of hands, and Jaisa shares her own story of watching her son's tumor disappear during his cancer treatment. This conversation sits right at the intersection of faith, science, and mysticism, and it might change how you think about healing.

In this episode, we cover:

  • What the human biofield is and how science is beginning to measure it
  • The MD Anderson study on biofield therapies and pancreatic cancer cells
  • The difference between the Bengston Healing Method, Reiki, acupuncture, and other energy healing practices
  • Laying on of hands as one of the oldest recorded healing practices in history
  • Jaisa's personal story of her son's cancer diagnosis and recovery
  • How energy healing and Christian faith can coexist without contradiction

About our guest:
Dr. Jason Yuan is a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist specializing in integrative and functional medicine. He also practices and teaches biofield therapies, drawing on his own healing journey with chronic eczema to help others explore the connection between energy, consciousness, and health.

Episode 88: The "Moral Issues" That Masked Segregation01 juil. 202600:38:15

Abortion and homosexuality. If you grew up in conservative Christianity, you know these are the two issues. The ones that decide votes. The ones churches will not bend on. But what if neither issue started out as the point?

This is part three of our series on the church’s role in building white supremacy in America. In part one, we traced colonization and slavery. In part two, we covered Jim Crow and the civil rights era. In this episode, we follow that same through line of racism forward to the political strategy that focused conservative Christians on abortion and homosexuality, in order to secure the conservative Christian vote and keep the right people in office to uphold segregation.

This episode wraps up our current series on the Christian church’s historical role in building white supremacy in America.

Topics covered: a recap of part one (colonization and slavery) and part two (Jim Crow and civil rights), the political strategy that focused conservative Christians on abortion and homosexuality, securing the conservative Christian vote, and how that vote was used to uphold segregation.

Episode 87: Jim Crow and the Pulpit: How the Church Preached Racism as God's Order24 juin 202600:37:08

In part two of this series, Rachael and Jaisa walk through the comprehensive legal system of Jim Crow, the culture of lynching as a celebrated Christian community event, and the documented role of white evangelical leaders in opposing civil rights. We talk about Jerry Falwell Senior's 1958 sermon declaring racial integration a communist plot against God's design. We talk about Billy Graham privately urging Martin Luther King Jr. to slow the movement. And we trace how that same political base shifted from explicit segregation to a new moral framework built around abortion and homosexuality, one that secured the conservative vote without ever having to say the quiet part out loud.

We're also talking about what's happening right now. ICE raids. Murdered activists. The white moderate who opposes injustice but opposes disruption more. And why silence has always been a form of consent.

This is not a comfortable episode. It's a necessary one.

In This Episode

•       Jim Crow as a comprehensive legal system, not just a social custom

•       Lynching postcards: how Christians documented and celebrated racial murder

•       Jerry Falwell Senior's 1958 segregation sermon and the formation of the Moral Majority

•       Billy Graham, the white moderate, and Martin Luther King Jr.'s Letter from Birmingham Jail

•       The throughline from Jim Crow to today's political landscape

•       Reincarnation, karma, and what a just God might actually require

Episode 86: 1493: When the Church Gave Permission for Conquest and Slavery17 juin 202600:46:09

What if the church didn't just fail to stop white supremacy,  it helped build it?

In part one of this two-part series, Rachael takes you back to the very beginning. Not the Civil War. Not Jim Crow. 1493. The year the church wrote the theological permission slip for conquest, colonization, and the dehumanization of entire peoples.

This episode breaks down three things most Christians were never taught.

The Doctrine of Discovery. The papal bulls that gave European Christian nations divine permission to claim any land inhabited by non-Christians. This wasn't fringe theology. It shaped everything that came after.

The Curse of Ham. One misread passage in Genesis became the theological engine for chattel slavery. What the text actually says required ignoring the Bible entirely to make the distortion work.

The Pro-Slavery Church. Respected, credentialed, mainstream pastors and entire denominations built a sophisticated Bible-based case for slavery. One denomination was founded in 1845 specifically to protect the right of slaveholders. It is still one of the largest in America today.

This is not a story about bad people doing bad things. This is about a theological system that was carefully constructed, widely taught, and built into the institutions many of us grew up in.

Episode 85: BONUS EPISODE: The Playbook: Jesus, Healing and Human Potential w/ Charlie Goldsmith10 juin 202600:21:14

What if the healing ministry of Jesus was never meant to stop with Him? In this special bonus episode, we sit back down with Charlie Goldsmith, world-renowned energy healer and star of The Healer, for a conversation that started after the cameras stopped rolling and turned into one of the most personally meaningful exchanges we have ever had on this show.

Jaisa opens up about her son's tumor disappearing in seven days, the physical sensations she experienced during that time, and how this conversation finally gave her language for something she has carried for years. Together we explore the idea that what Jesus demonstrated was not exclusive to Him but a blueprint for human potential that the church may have unintentionally buried over centuries.

Charlie also offers a fascinating reframe of forgiveness, original sin, and what Jesus was actually communicating through His healing ministry that cuts through centuries of religious interpretation and lands somewhere surprisingly freeing.

In this episode, we explore:

  • Why the healing ministry of Jesus was meant to be a blueprint, not a one-time event
  • How Jaisa experienced an unexplained healing with her son and what that might mean
  • The connection between energy healing, human potential, and Christian mysticism
  • Why putting Jesus on a pedestal may have disempowered the very people He was trying to inspire
  • What "the kingdom of God is within you" might actually mean for how we approach healing today

This is a conversation that will expand your understanding of Jesus, of healing, and of the extraordinary potential that may already be living inside you.

Episode 84: From Fringe to Frontline: How Energy Healing is Being Legitimized w/ Charlie Goldsmith03 juin 202600:58:19

What if healing was possible beyond the limits of conventional medicine? In this profound episode, we welcome Charlie Goldsmith, world-renowned energy healer and star of The Healer, for an honest soul-stirring conversation about his extraordinary gift and what it truly means for humanity.

Charlie opens up about how his healing abilities first emerged, what actually happens during an energy healing session, and the spiritual dimensions of a practice that has left doctors, scientists, and patients speechless. We also dive deep into one of the most fascinating topics in health and consciousness: the placebo effect and what it reveals about our innate human ability to heal ourselves from within.

But Charlie's vision goes far beyond his own practice. He is on a mission to identify the most talented healers in the world, build a network of vetted practitioners, and make that healing accessible and affordable to anyone right from their iPhone.

In this episode, we explore:

  • How Charlie discovered and developed his remarkable energy healing abilities
  • What an energy healing session looks and feels like from the inside
  • The incredible power of the placebo effect and our body's natural capacity to heal
  • Why Charlie believes healing shouldn't be a privilege and what he's doing about it

Episode 83: The Sagittarius Full Moon, Releasing Old Beliefs & Expanding Into Truth27 mai 202600:43:18

In this episode, Rachael and Jaisa discuss the upcoming Full Moon in Sagittarius on May 31 and why this particular energy may feel especially significant for those in the deconstruction and reconstruction process. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion, truth, questioning, wisdom, and exploration, making this a powerful time to reflect on the beliefs, identities, and narratives people may be outgrowing.

They explore how this full moon invites people to stop playing small, seek deeper truth, and honestly examine what is no longer aligned spiritually, emotionally, and personally. For many reevaluating faith, spirituality, or the systems they were raised in, this energy can bring clarity, courage, and a deeper sense of inner knowing.

Rachael and Jaisa also discuss how working intentionally with the rhythms of nature, like the moon, is not about worshipping creation, but about using what God already created as a sacred rhythm for reflection, release, prayer, and intentional living. Throughout scripture, the natural world is used as signs, seasons, symbols, and reminders of God’s presence, and for them, this practice simply creates intentional space each month to pause, reflect, release what is no longer serving them, and call in what they hope to cultivate.

They also open up personally about what they themselves are releasing in this season, what they are making space for, and the honest realities of navigating growth and change.

This conversation was originally recorded for the Spirit 360 community, but after Zoom failed to record the call despite promises that members would receive the replay, they decided to sit back down and re-record it. Once they did, they realized the conversation felt too meaningful not to share with everyone.

This episode encourages listeners to reflect, release, expand, and step more fully into the life and truth they are being called toward.

Episode 82: How to Love and Care for Every Enneagram Type w/ Abbey Howe20 mai 202601:02:04

Most of us are giving love the way we want to receive it. And for a lot of people, that's where connection quietly breaks down. This week, Rachael and Jaisa sit down with Enneagram expert Abbey Howe to talk about one of the most practical and deeply human questions we can ask: how do I actually show up well for the people I care about?

Abbey walks through every Enneagram type and what each one genuinely needs to feel loved, safe, and cared for. This isn't surface-level personality talk. It's a real conversation about how each type is wired, what wounds they carry, and what kind of love actually lands for them. Whether you're trying to understand your partner, your friend, your kid, your parent, or yourself, this episode will shift how you see the people around you. Abbey brings both deep knowledge of Enneagram theory and a grounded, compassionate framework that makes it feel instantly applicable to your real relationships.

The Enneagram, when used well, is a tool for transformation and compassion. It helps us stop asking why people aren't more like us, and start asking what they actually need. This conversation touches on emotional healing, how our core fears shape the way we give and receive love, and how understanding type can create more safety, more depth, and more grace in every relationship in your life.

Episode 80: Finding Her Voice: How Songwriting & Healing Led to True Faith w/ Alana Springsteen06 mai 202600:56:15

This week, we sat down with country singer-songwriter Alana Springsteen for a raw, honest, and deeply personal conversation about growing up in the church, living as a people-pleaser, and what it actually takes to step into your own voice.

Alana shares how, for much of her life, she shaped herself around expectations, becoming who others needed her to be, inheriting a version of faith that did not fully feel like her own. It was not until she started getting honest, doing the inner healing work, and allowing herself to question everything that something shifted.

Through songwriting and healing, she did not just find her voice, she encountered a more authentic and grounded experience of God.

We also talk about one of the most relatable tensions so many people face, how to stay connected to family members who do not agree with where you have landed. Alana shares what it has looked like to hold love, compassion, and boundaries at the same time, and how to honor your growth without losing the people who matter to you.

Her upcoming album, I Hope This Helps, is a reflection of this journey, vulnerable, honest, and deeply human.

This episode is for anyone who is ready to stop performing and start living from what is true.

Episode 77: The Faith, Friendship, & Evolution behind Spirit Outspoken15 avr. 202600:51:00

What does it actually look like to build something from nothing - fueled by friendship, faith, and a whole lot of courage?

In this episode of Spirit Outspoken, Rachael and Jaisa are pulling back the curtain. No guest, no script -  just the two of them settling in for an honest, heartfelt conversation about the journey behind this podcast and the ways it has changed them both.

Jaisa opens up about a deeply moving experience on spring break - celebrating her son's eighth birthday after three years of navigating childhood cancer, and the breathtaking signs from God that reminded her that her prayers had truly been answered. From cranes circling a boat in the Dominican Republic to a rainbow appearing over her kids playing in the mud, this is experiential faith at its most real and most beautiful.

From there, Rachael and Jaisa reflect on how Spirit Outspoken was born. A casual comment from Rachael's husband that somehow landed like a divine download, two women who each abandoned their own paths to answer a calling they couldn't ignore, and a wine-fueled planning session that almost got them into serious trouble right out of the gate.

They get honest about the fear of being judged, what it's like to deconstruct your faith publicly, the moment they discovered the Gnostic Gospels, and why certainty might actually be the enemy of genuine spirituality. They also talk about what it means to do this work as best friends -  the communication, the yin and yang, and why their friendship always comes first.

This episode is a beautiful reminder that you don't have to have it all figured out to show up. You just have to be willing.

In this episode, we explore:

  • Signs, synchronicities, and God speaking through the unexpected
  • The real origin story behind Spirit Outspoken
  • Faith deconstruction and reconstruction in real time
  • Why certainty shuts down spiritual growth
  • What it's like to question Christianity publicly and catch heat for it
  • Doing purpose-driven work with your best friend

If you're newer here, this is the perfect place to start. If you've been with us from the beginning, welcome back. We've missed you.

Episode 76: Plant Medicine, Quantum Physics & Jesus w/ Juan Galan Politi08 avr. 202600:44:39

In this episode of Spirit Outspoken, Jaisa and Rachael sit down with Juan Galan Politi, Instagram influencer and co-founder of the Mystic Misfit Society, to explore his profound spiritual awakening and transformation. Juan opens up about his shift from an ego-centered identity to a life guided by the teachings of Yeshua (Jesus), and the experiences that catalyzed that change.

We dive into his journey with plant medicine and how those experiences expanded his perception of reality, spirituality, and the nature of consciousness. Juan shares how these moments became a turning point, inviting him into a more integrated, embodied understanding of faith.

One of the most fascinating parts of this conversation is Juan’s innovative AI-generated template, a tool designed to help people read the Bible through a multidimensional lens. By weaving together scripture with insights from quantum physics, science, and mysticism, this framework offers a fresh, intellectually grounded way to explore the teachings of Jesus.

If you’ve ever felt torn between science and spirituality, if you’re curious about expanded states of consciousness and their role in faith, or if you’re looking for a deeper, more expansive way to understand the message of Jesus-this episode will open your mind and invite you into a broader perspective.

Episode 75: BONUS EPISODE! A Channeled Akashic Reading w/ Candice Rasa 01 avr. 202600:57:22

In this special bonus episode,  Rachael and Jaisa are joined by Candice Rasa of Rasa Healing for a powerful, live channeled Akashic Records reading.

Together, they explore what it truly means to take responsibility for your reactions, recognize the repeating patterns in your life, and understand how those patterns may be tied to deeper soul lessons and karma. This conversation invites listeners to release the need to control or change others, and instead shift into a space of awareness, acceptance, and personal alignment.

As the reading unfolds, the discussion expands beyond the personal and into the collective-reflecting on what’s currently happening in the United States and how we may be revisiting old patterns on a larger scale. Through this lens, Candice, Rachael, and Jaisa explore how staying rooted in love, truth, and your highest vibration can become a powerful response to both personal and collective challenges.

This episode blends spirituality, self-awareness, and real-time insight from the Akashic Records to offer a grounded yet expansive perspective on growth, healing, and navigating the world today.

Episode 72: The Enneagram Explained: Core Fears, Stress Patterns & Personal Growth w/ Ashton Whitmoyer-Ober11 mars 202600:56:19

What if understanding your deepest fears could unlock greater compassion for yourself and everyone around you?

In this episode of Spirit Outspoken, we sit down with Enneagram teacher Ashton Whitmoyer-Ober to explore the Enneagram, an ancient personality system that reveals the hidden motivations behind human behavior.

Unlike personality tests that simply describe traits, the Enneagram focuses on the core fears and desires that drive our actions, offering powerful insight into how we respond under stress, where we naturally grow, and why we show up the way we do in relationships.

Throughout the conversation, Ashton walks us through the nine Enneagram types, explaining the unique motivations, patterns, and growth paths associated with each type. This framework can become a powerful tool for self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and personal growth, helping us better understand both ourselves and the people in our lives.

We also explore how recognizing our Enneagram type can create greater empathy and compassion, since it reveals the unseen fears and coping strategies shaping human behavior.

Whether you're completely new to the Enneagram or already familiar with it, this episode offers a thoughtful introduction to one of the most powerful tools for self-discovery, personal transformation, and understanding the deeper motivations behind our behavior.

Episode 66: Feeling it All - Faith, Fury and the Call to Love28 janv. 202600:37:46

In this episode of Spirit Outspoken, we sit with the emotional weight of what’s happening in Minneapolis and across the United States - and what it feels like to be human in this moment.

Many people are carrying justified anger, grief, fear, and exhaustion as they witness violence, injustice and misinformation.  Rather than bypassing these emotions, we begin by naming them-because Jesus never dismissed human pain.

From there, we turn to Scripture to explore how we are called to respond spiritually in times of division and unrest. What does it mean to follow Jesus without surrendering our humanity? How do we hold anger without becoming consumed by it? And how do we love our neighbors-on all sides-without excusing harm or injustice?

This episode reflects on Jesus’ response to suffering, righteous anger, and power, and explores what it looks like to choose compassion, truth, and love as forms of spiritual resistance. We discuss seeing the image of God in every person, resisting dehumanization, and staying spiritually grounded when emotions are high.

This conversation is for anyone who:

  • Feels angry, heartbroken, or overwhelmed by current events
  • Is struggling with polarization and division
  • Wants a Christ-centered response that doesn’t minimize injustice
  • Longs to stay human, faithful, and anchored in turbulent times

Episode 65: Created with Purpose - Faith and Astrology w/ Debra Silverman21 janv. 202601:13:37

What if astrology wasn’t something to fear, but a tool for deeper self-understanding and compassion?

In this episode of Spirit Outspoken, we’re joined by Debra Silverman, a psychologist turned astrologer with decades of experience.

For many who were raised in the Christian faith, astrology was often framed as off-limits or incompatible with belief in God. Together, we gently reframe that narrative, exploring astrology not as something that replaces faith, but as a language of personality and design that can deepen empathy, self-awareness, and understanding of others.

Debra shares how her background in clinical psychology and soul-centered astrology work together, offering insight into emotional patterns, the four elements, and why we’re wired the way we are. We also discuss how understanding our own birth chart - and those of our children - can become a powerful tool for conscious parenting, relational compassion, and releasing unrealistic expectations.

This episode is thoughtful, grace-filled, and expansive, especially for anyone who still loves God but is re-examining what they were taught about spirituality, astrology, and self-discovery.

In this episode, we explore:

  • Is astrology compatible with Christian faith?
  • Astrology as a tool for self-understanding, not prediction
  • Psychology, personality, and the four elements
  • How astrology can foster compassion instead of judgment
  • Using astrology as a lens for parenting and relationships
  • Trusting that God’s hand is present in every part of our design

Whether you’re skeptical, curious, or already exploring, this conversation invites you to approach astrology with openness, wisdom, and grace.

Today on Spirit Outspoken, we’re joined by Sean Collyns, a world-renowned psychic medium with a four-year long waiting list and author of Your Soul Is the Source of Your Power (releasing this March).

Sean shares insights into the afterlife, collective oneness, and the divine energy that connects us all beyond religion, culture, or language. He reminds us that energy never dies and energy never lies.

We talk about how psychic ability isn’t reserved for a gifted few, but is something we all carry within us. Sean opens up about his own journey into mediumship and offers grounded, accessible guidance on strengthening our intuitive connection. Together, we explore how loved ones continue to communicate with us after they’ve passed, the continuity of the soul, reincarnation, and why love never truly ends,it simply changes form.

Episode 63: How Studying Buddhism Can Deepen a Jesus-Centered Faith w/ Zach Helton07 janv. 202601:10:29

What if faith wasn’t about having all the answers, but about staying curious?

In this episode of Spirit Outspoken, we’re joined by Zach Helton for an honest, expansive conversation about spirituality, curiosity, and what it means to follow Jesus without fear of exploration. Together, we unpack the pressure many Christians feel to have certainty and why releasing the need to “know it all” can actually deepen, not diminish faith.

Zach shares his personal experience studying Buddhism and how engaging another spiritual tradition unexpectedly enriched his spirituality and relationship with Jesus. We explore how learning from other religions doesn’t mean abandoning Christianity, but can cultivate greater presence, compassion, humility, and spiritual maturity.

This episode is for anyone navigating faith deconstruction, spiritual curiosity, or longing for a more embodied and expansive way of following Jesus - without shame, fear, or rigid dogma.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • Why you don’t need all the answers to be a faithful Jesus follower
  • How spiritual curiosity can strengthen, not threaten, faith
  • Zach’s experience studying Buddhism and how it shaped his spirituality
  • Exploring other religions without losing your Christian foundation
  • Letting go of fear-based faith and embracing growth

If you’ve ever felt drawn to explore deeper questions, but were told curiosity was dangerous, this conversation is for you.
