Beltane Season New Moon in Taurus Lunar Week 13 | Looking at the astrology, lunar cycles, and holy days (Pagan and Global) for May 11-18.

Our Beltane Season vibes are seriously reinforced as we come to the New Moon in Taurus. This kicks off a lunar cycle that brings us back to the body and back to the physical world.

Our holy days center around festivals celebrating masculine energies manifesting as the surge of the natural world, and multigendered energies manifesting in our social exchanges. Bringing a reverence to our physical world is especially powerful magic right now. 

We also see Jupiter move into Pisces this week, adding a nebulous enthusiasm to all we encounter. Expressing your wildest hopes through art, music, and poetry is potent spell work. So too is connecting with your neighbors and helping folks however you can, where you are at. 

But this transit can also bring us closer to the pain of the world as well, so be loving but firm with yourself if unhelpful escapism behaviors tempt you with oblivion.

We are passing through the holy days of the Eleusinian Mysteries, witnessing the transformation of Kore/Persephone from a Maiden of Flowers to The Queen of the Dead. And Her mother, Demeter, changing from Mother of Life, to Crone and Wisdom Keeper. Mourning ancestral losses, and unavoidable change or endings is all work to clear space for the upcoming eclipses.

SECOND HARVEST

The Wheel of the Year continues to turn for Pagans with the Quarter Sabbat MABON, also known as Fall Equinox. The high point of the Sun's arc over The Wheel is done and with that completion, we see the fullness of The Harvest come to fruition at Mabon. We have reached Fall Equinox, the Quarter-Day festival marking the half way point between Summer and Winter Solstice.

Also known as Second Harvest and Witch's Thanksgiving, at Mabon we continue to explore harvest season through the cornucopia of symbols and festivals found at this time of year. The work of Mabon season focuses on shifting from the drive and ambition of Summer into the fulfillment and resolution of Autumn. Many Pagans see a form of the Goddess known as The Mother giving birth to the massive harvests being pulled in all around the northern hemisphere.

In this lively 2 hour lecture you’ll learn ways to help yourself and your community stay balanced as we shift from the high of Summer into the fall of Fall, and prepare for the Underworld journey of Winter. But the work isn't done after one night! We'll take a look at what we can expect for the coming 6-7 weeks of Mabon Season, learn how you can observe this time of abundance for yourself or with your community, and get ready to Do The Work.
