Spacemusic 11.14 Life:Death

The Older you get, the more serious Life and Death seems to become… More people fade away, pass away. Sometimes after sickness, sometimes all of sudden. Either way it’s not easy to process the death of people that you are somehow ‘connected with’. It’s a true pain when realizing you won’t receive anymore e-mail from the person that passed away, or the person who died will not be featured in a new series or movie anymore.

If Life is all about the renewal and refresh of the memory, than we have to take life more serious than ever! The Afterlife doesn’t mean that you ‘will be back’ in another life as the same person you are now. The Afterlife can refer to ‘you’ that is becoming another ‘you’ without the ‘knowing’ of the current ‘you’ that is ‘I’.

One thing is for sure: the music that scores today’s episode is likely to survive us all. Next generations will be able to listen to Spacemusic 11.14 and all included music even 100 years from now. Unless there’s someone taking care of our archives and the technology we call ‘RSS’. We better start documenting our piece of work and think of ways to let this beacon continue for a long time….

Welcome to my house, the Spacemusic house and studios where fans are trying to cool off body and mind. The wind and the engines causing a true sound phenomenon that interludes today’s mix of extreme laid-back tracks. Coming from Within, this episode tells a story about a guy deciding to leave his native country, in search of peace and quiet, to realize what he’s been dreaming of all his life: becoming a successful music promoter and producer on an island located in the Eastern Mediterranean. Despite his struggle to survive the cold during winter, the heat during summer, dust, wind and very strange habits from the locals, he decides to stay around on the island and reach out to his true fans: the show community that has been in the ether for such a long time. Some even more than 10 years, some even since the very first show release. He calls them to keep communicating, coming together and share thoughts, feelings and visions, posting comments and tell other people about the fantastic journey, how it changed their lives and how good it would be for everyone to come and join the community, supporting the number one platform for Ambient and Electronic music entertainment. There’s a fan in every room now … blowing air into our lives, into our hearts!

Welcome to Cyprus, where the Heatwave is still going strong. End of June, we had temperatures of 39C (102.2F) for couple of days in a row. No fun I can tell you! Today, switched on the AC, watched the news, there’s many countries having a struggle with weather conditions at the moment. France, Spain, Italy,… there’s a big hot red bubble over the South of Europe causing many problems. Good Luck to all!

Let’s try and ease the pain for all of you and play the greatest chilled tunes. Focus on the music and your breathing, the rest does not matter today :) And send us an e-mail to share your local situation if you like.

While compiling the tracklist for 11.9 I have tried to make a good balance between soundscapes, drones and melodies, coming from a variety of artists and making sure that all parts of the frequency spectrum are present. I think the recipe succeeded quite well! You will not only hear the audio but feel it - literally - entering your body. Show 11.9 has become a fabulous experience that you won’t hear anywhere else… but here!

Exactly 3 months after the first trip …. this is volume 2 bringing you even more trippy adventures for you to enjoy! Unbelievable sounding tracks that go perfectly well together, adding depth to eachother, creating even other dimensions. Though it took quite some time to find those that really like eachother and do match the flow I had in mind. I never thought that 11.8 would become this good!

You will certainly notice something going on here, your mind will become ‘captured’ after listening to the mix for a short while … be careful now! Don’t trip and drive! Play in a safe and peaceful environment, headphones or speakers + sub of course :)

Recorded and mixed in the studio on Holy Saturday, following the Julian Calendar introduced in 46 BC. We are celebrating Easter by the time you can download this episode. Happy Days!
