Freed Israeli Hostage Shares Details About Her Captivity | Aviva Siegel & Marc Beckman24 Dec 202401:00:08

“For the survivor who chooses to testify, it is clear: his duty is to bear witness for the dead and for the living. He has no right to deprive future generations of a past that belongs to our collective memory. To forget would be not only dangerous, but offensive.” These are the immortal words of Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel.

You are about to hear the enduring words of Aviva Siegel. Aviva was a hostage in Gaza. Aviva's husband, Keith Siegel, is still a hostage in Gaza. At six in the morning on October 7th, fifteen terrorists shot their way into Aviva and Keith's home. Aviva's primal scream reached the heavens. The terrorists shot Keith, and they broke his rib.

Soon thereafter Aviva and Keith, still in their pajamas, were forced at gunpoint to enter their own car. The kidnappers drove to Gaza where more terrorists, people with sticks, mothers, children, and even elders and babies lined the streets, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Jews from the nearby kibbutz, who were immediately forced underground, into dark tunnels, into captivity.

And since then, for more than 440 days, Keith has been trapped, numbed, beaten, starved, tortured, asphyxiated, drained, psychologically battered, and the inexhaustible list of atrocities continues.

In this episode, Aviva Siegel shares her harrowing experience of being held hostage in Gaza by Hamas. She recounts the traumatic events that began on October 7th, when terrorists invaded her home, shot her husband Keith, and took them both captives.

Aviva details the ordeal of being moved between multiple locations, subjected to brutal treatment, and the continuous fear and uncertainty they faced. She speaks about the deep love for her husband and her relentless hope for his return, as well as her belief in the power of love and humanity despite the atrocities she witnessed.

The episode also delves into her life before the kidnapping and her dedication to teaching young children. Calling for unity and compassion, Aviva voices a heartfelt plea for peace and the return of all hostages.

Peace in the Middle East? The Making of the Abraham Accords | Amb. John Rakolta, Jr. & Marc Beckman17 Dec 202401:04:24

I had the honor of meeting Ambassador John Rakolta, Jr. this past summer in New York City. His name may not sound familiar, but John is a serious visionary who currently serves as chairman of Walbridge, a $6.5 billion construction firm based in Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 1916, Walbridge boasts being one of America's largest contractors with deep roots tied to building automotive and manufacturing facilities. Impressively, John predicted the importance of technology in American commerce and steered Walbridge into the future.

Today, Walbridge is a leader in building electric vehicle facilities and hyperscale data centers. But here's where it gets interesting: Mr. Rakolta served as the United States Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and played a lead role in architecting the Abraham Accords between the UAE and Israel. Since then, the Middle East has been literally on fire.

On this episode, Ambassador Rakolta provides an in-depth analysis of the Middle East and shares for the first time how the Abraham Accords were established, how they have been effective, and what's next in the region. Ambassador Rakolta also shares his insights on effective leadership, his personal work ethic, and reflections on the current state and future prospects of peace in the region.

The episode concludes with thoughts on national security and the importance of bringing manufacturing back to the United States.

The Global Tech War, Cybersecurity & AI | Mike Rogers, Senate Candidate, House Intel Chair, FBI24 Sep 202401:01:06

United States Senate candidate for Michigan, Mike Rogers, served in the United States House of Representatives from 2001 until 2015. In 2011, Mike was named Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. In 2012, just one year after assuming this role, Mike warned that Chinese technology companies Huawei and ZTE posed a national security threat.

The Intelligence Committee's report concluded that these tech companies were serving as arms of the Chinese government, had stolen trade secrets from American corporations, and could potentially spy on American citizens. It's worth noting other findings remain classified out of national security concerns.

What were these technology based threats and do they exist today? Is America prepared for an onslaught of international cyber attacks? How can U.S. ingenuity lead us towards victory in the world's AI war?

In this insightful episode, host Marc interviews Senate candidate Mike Rogers to discuss various issues impacting American society today. They explore the significance of family as the foundation of society, Michigan families' economic struggles, and the critical state of public education. Rogers emphasizes the importance of helping individuals achieve literacy to empower themselves economically and socially.

The conversation shifts to national security, diving into Rogers' investigations into Chinese tech companies' threats during his time as House Intelligence Committee Chair. The discussion also covers the current and future role of AI in cybersecurity, military applications, and the impact of overregulation on innovation.

Techno-Freedom, Individual Liberty, & Rational Thought | with Yaron Brook, Chairman Ayn Rand Institute04 Jun 202401:11:03

What role does technology play in the growth of modern nation-states? Does technology create and preserve individual freedom? What happens when our government regulates innovation or fails to do so? And why is being selfish good?

In this episode, Yaron Brook, Chairman of the Ayn Rand Institute, joins me to analyze these timely and important topics. This episode explores the concept of rational self-interest, contrasting it with what Brook sees as a self-destructive societal trend in America. The conversation delves deep into America's foreign policy, the role of intellectuals, and the impact of technology and regulation on individual freedom and economic growth. Brook laments the lack of modern thinkers akin to Rand and stresses the need for an intellectual revolution to revive the principles of liberty and individual rights.

Yaron is the best selling author of "Free Market Revolution," "Equal is Unfair," and "In Pursuit of Wealth." Yaron received his MBA and PhD in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He served as finance professor for seven years at Santa Clara University, and co founded BH Equity Research, a private equity and hedge fund manager.

Murdered, Kidnapped, Taken Hostage from Kibbutz Nir Oz: The Bibas Family Story | Ofri Bibas Levy & Yifat Zailer03 Dec 202401:12:14

Here's the thing about the 101 Israeli hostages in Gaza: they were torn from their lives over 400 days ago. Here's the thing about the only two Jewish children who are currently hostages in Gaza: their parents are also hostages. Here's the thing about Ariel and Kfir Bibas' grandparents: they were both burnt to death in their home. One was a teacher with Parkinson's and the other was a painter.

The entire family lived on a kibbutz juxtaposed with Gaza and supported equal rights, freedom, liberty, and of course, legal statehood for their Palestinian neighbors. Here's the thing that we have lost from terrorism, conflict, information wars, antisemitism, falsification, and politics: our humanity. We have forgotten that the 101 hostages have first names, passions, careers, humility, love, and dreams. Ofri Bibas Levy and Yifat Zailer took the time to remind me, and now the rest of the world, about humanity lost in our very emotional conversation.

In this emotional episode, Marc welcomes Yifat Zailer and Ofri Bibas Levy to share their poignant stories and experiences over the past year. Yifat, an architect and passionate photographer, and Ofri, an occupational therapist, provide a deeply personal insight into their connections with the Bibas family and the impact of the traumatic events they endured on October 7th.

They discuss their struggles, emotions, and the changes that have reshaped their lives and identities since then. The conversation reveals the heartbreaking realities of having family members, including young children, taken hostage by terrorists, and the resulting emotional and physical toll. Both guests reflect on their resilience, hope for the future, and the significant need for global humanitarian considerations.

Melinda Katz became the District Attorney for Queens County in January 2020, making history as the first woman to hold the office.

Under her leadership, the District Attorney’s office ensures that all defendants are treated fairly and in a non-discriminatory manner, while protecting the communities it serves in the most diverse county in America. District Attorney Katz restructured the office with new bureaus and mandates to manage challenges including taking guns off the street, empowering victims of domestic violence and human trafficking and seeking justice even in the oldest of cold cases.

Shanon LaCorte has extensive work experience in the legal field. Shanon is currently working as the Bureau Chief of the Crime Strategies & Intelligence Bureau at the Queens District Attorney's Office since July 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Director of the Crime Strategies & Intelligence Unit from May 2021 to July 2023.

Before joining the Queens District Attorney's Office, Shanon worked at the Office of the New York State Attorney General. Shanon served as the Special Counsel for the Statewide Organized Crime Task Force from April 2016 to May 2021. Prior to that, they were an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Enforcement & Financial Crimes Bureau from October 2014 to March 2016.

Shanon's earlier work experience includes working as an Assistant District Attorney at the Nassau County District Attorney's Office from January 2011 to October 2014. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate in the Litigation Department at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP from September 2007 to August 2010.

Shanon LaCorte obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from Union College between 2000 and 2004. Subsequently, they attended American University Washington College of Law from 2004 to 2007 and earned a Doctor of Law degree (JD).

What are ghost guns and why should you be concerned?

The United States ranks first in the world when it comes to firearms ownership with 400 million guns that we know of. Guns Incorporated is big business in the United States valued at almost 21 billion dollars with more than five percent annual growth. This will be disrupted by 3D printed guns imminently.

2024 has already seen a more than 1000 percent increase in 3D printed firearm recoveries in New York City. Queens County leads New York City in ghost gun recoveries. Their impressive leadership has implemented forward looking techniques to limit the flow of 3D printed machine guns, assault weapons, mines, bombs, and bullets in New York City.

In this episode, District Attorney Melinda Katz and Bureau Chief Shanon LaCorte join us to talk about the growing of ghost guns and 3D printed firearms and they are working toward keeping these guns of the street.
