| Episode 113- Parks of theFuture Part 6: Haunted Eats & Tangled Treats | 30 Sep 2026 | 00:58:32 | |
It’s time to get back to imagining the Parks of the Future! In Part 6, we’re stepping away from resorts and attractions and heading straight to the dining table. This time, Dad and I are dreaming up two completely different restaurant concepts that we think could bring some serious storytelling, character, and entertainment to the Disney Parks. Dad has a Haunted Mansion-inspired restaurant featuring character dining with some familiarv (and maybe slightly spooky) faces, while I’m bringing the Snuggly Duckling from Tangled to life with character dining, live music, and a piano bar atmosphere. From ghosts and ruffians to food, music, and immersive entertainment, these restaurants are about much more than what’s on the menu. We’re imagining dining experiences where the characters and theming are just as important as the food itself. Which restaurant would you want to step inside? And would you rather dine with ghosts or hang out with a few ruffians? 👻🎹
| Episode 112- Disney World Pre-Trip: Park Plans, Must-Eats & Top Goals | 23 Sep 2026 | 00:45:53 | |
It’s time for another Disney World pre-trip, and I am SO ready to be back in Florida! Even though I was just at Disneyland Paris, that Disney itch is already kicking in, and this trip is a little different from my usual family vacation. I’m heading to Walt Disney World for four park days, including my third attempt at the EveryRide Challenge with my brother Reegan and our friend Cole! We’ll be tackling all four parks in one very long day while raising money for Give Kids the World, followed by a few extra park days to meet up with friends, eat ALL the things, and hopefully accomplish a few Disney goals along the way. In this episode, I’m breaking down all of my plans for the trip, including where I’m staying, how I scored my park tickets, my Lightning Lane strategy, our EveryRide game plan, and what I’m hoping to accomplish during my extra days in the parks. Plus, I’m sharing my very long Disney snack list, because apparently one of my biggest trip goals is just eating my way through Food & Wine Festival 😂 I also have FIVE goals for this trip! Some completely within my control and a few that are definitely going to require a little Disney magic. And of course, we have a brand-new Disney hot take from our friends at West of Wonderland! https://www.instagram.com/westofwonderlandpodcast/ Don’t forget that our Give Kids the World giveaway is still going on through September 30th! | Episode 111- From Sleeping Beauty to Shanghai: The History & Evolution of Disney Castles | 16 Sep 2026 | 00:47:26
There’s one thing almost every Disney Park has in common: a castle! But have you ever wondered why each Disney castle looks so different, or how they’ve evolved over the years? This week, we’re taking a journey around the world to explore the history of Disney Parks castles, starting with the original Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland and making our way through Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland, and even Disney’s future castle concepts. We’re talking hidden details, fascinating construction stories, Imagineering decisions, castle transformations, dragons hiding underneath castles, and how Disney has turned these iconic structures from simple park landmarks into attractions and immersive storytelling experiences. And of course, because we can never just talk about something without ranking it, we’ll finish the episode by ranking our favorite Disney castles! Which one will come out on top? So sit back, Flight Crew, and join us for a little Disney castle history… because there’s a LOT more to these castles than meets the eye! | Episode 110- The Key to Riding Every Ride at Walt Disney World | 09 Sep 2026 | 01:14:45
EveryRide is about so much more than simply checking every attraction off the list! In this episode of Soarin’ Around WDW, Reegan joins us to break down everything we’ve learned from taking on the EveryRide Challenge at Walt Disney World over the years. We’re talking about what has changed, what has stayed the same, and how our strategy has evolved as we’ve taken on the challenge again and again. We also dive into listener questions, including what you actually get for finishing EveryRide, whether we’d do it all over again, and how much physical training goes into preparing for the big day. But the biggest lesson? EveryRide is just as much a mental game as it is a physical one. Plans change, rides go down, crowds happen, and sometimes you have to throw Plan A out the window and be ready to pivot. So grab your park map and buckle up as we share our EveryRide strategy, lessons learned, and what it really takes to ride it all at Walt Disney World! We are also doing this in support of Give Kids the World Village! Use this link to help support our fundraising efforts: https://give.gktw.org/SoarinAroundWDWPod

Welcome back, Flight Crew, and welcome to our final Nostalgic Nights of the summer! 🎬 This time around, we’re talking about the movie YOU voted for… Flubber! And with 41% of the vote, Madi officially got his wish 😂 We’re diving into the history behind this 1997 Disney classic, including its connection to The Absent-Minded Professor, the surprising famous writer connection, the cast full of familiar faces, where the movie was filmed, its box office and critical reception, and plenty of fun facts and Disney connections you may have missed. But of course, we can’t just talk about Flubber without getting into everything that had us questioning this movie. Hey Flight Crew! ✈️ D23 2026 has come and gone, and Disney gave us A LOT to talk about! This week, we’re sharing our thoughts on the biggest announcements from the ultimate Disney fan event. And, of course, asking the question: Did D23 actually live up to the hype? Disney gave us plenty to dream about, but did they give fans enough concrete information to actually get excited? Plus, we share our own festival experiences, favorite musical acts we’ve seen over the years, thoughts on the Garden Graze, and whether the festival has stayed true to its roots. Whether you love the flowers, the flavors, or the music, this episode is a celebration of Disney across generations 🌸🎶
| Episode 90- Parks of the Future Part 5 (2/2): Aegean Eats & Entertainment | 22 Apr 2026 | 00:45:07 | |
We’re back to wrap up our Greece Pavilion concept in this second half of Parks of the Future Part 5! If you joined us last week, you experienced the thrills of Fire of the Aegean, and now it’s time to bring the rest of this EPCOT pavilion to life. In this episode, we shift from thrills to atmosphere as we fully design the heart and soul of the pavilion: the dining, entertainment, and guest experiences that make World Showcase so special. From the whitewashed seaside villages of Santorini and Mykonos to the rich history of ancient Greece, we’re blending authentic culture with a touch of Disney magic. We imagine a brand-new stage show, “Hercules: Rise of a Hero,” bringing the energy, humor, and music of Disney’s Hercules to EPCOT with a Broadway-style production full of audience interaction, iconic songs, and larger-than-life storytelling. Then, come hungry! Because we’re diving into two all-new dining locations: We also talk character meet-and-greets, the importance of live entertainment in the parks, and how to balance authentic culture with Disney IP in a modern EPCOT. So, would you grab a gyro and catch a show? Or head straight back to the coaster? Let us know what YOU would add to a Greece pavilion and don’t miss our Would You Rather debate this week! 🇬🇷✨ The pavilion is complete… now it’s your turn to explore.
| Episode 89- Parks of the Future Part 5 (1/2): Expanding World Showcase | 15 Apr 2026 | 00:45:13 | |
This week on Soarin’ Around WDW, we’re diving back into our Parks of the Future series with a truly epic armchair imagineering session, and we’re not doing it alone. Joining us are our favorite creative minds from the Idiot’s Guide to Imagineering: Stephen and Marissa! Together, we set our sights on EPCOT’s World Showcase and tackle one of the biggest “what ifs” in Disney history: adding a brand-new pavilion. After exploring the history, lost concepts, and untapped potential of World Showcase, we reveal our bold country of choice, and begin building it from the ground up. In this first installment, we focus on the headlining attraction: Fire of the Aegean, a thrilling, multi-launch coaster that plunges guests into the heart of a volcanic eruption inspired by the real-life history of Santorini. Blending high-intensity thrills with classic EPCOT-style education, this non-IP experience explores geology, culture, and the raw power of nature in a way Disney has never done before. We also debate the future of non-IP attractions, reflect on the legacy of EPCOT’s storytelling (including Illuminations: Reflections of Earth), and get inspired by travel dreams and global cultures along the way. So, would you brave the eruption? And is there still room in EPCOT for original, educational attractions like this? Next week, we bring the full pavilion to life with dining, entertainment, and a heroic twist you won’t want to miss.
| Episode 88- Treasured Attractions: Haunted Mansion Pt 4 | 08 Apr 2026 | 01:04:48 | |
Welcome back, foolish mortals… it’s time to close the creaking doors on our Treasured Attractions series all about the Haunted Mansion. In this final episode, we explore how this iconic attraction expanded far beyond its walls to leave a lasting mark on Disney parks, films, and fandom. From the bold and divisive Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas, to international variations like Tokyo’s seasonal transformation and Disneyland Paris’s hauntingly elegant Phantom Wedding, we dive into how different parks reinterpret the mansion’s eerie charm. We also take a deep look at the mansion’s journey to the big screen, comparing the 2003 cult classic starring Eddie Murphy with the modern 2023 reboot, and discussing what each film got right (and wrong) about translating a ride into a story. Beyond film, we explore the mansion’s extended universe through comics, limited-time park experiences, and the ever-growing fan culture that continues to build on its легенdary lore. Plus, we share some personal stories, memories, and a fun “Would You Rather” from our friend @magicaltravelwithkatrina to wrap things up. Ultimately, this episode is all about legacy: how the Haunted Mansion became more than just a ride, evolving into a cultural touchstone that continues to adapt with every generation. So step inside one last time… and remember: there’s always room for one more.

From a smooth arrival and easy app check-in to soaking in everything our resort had to offer, we’re breaking down the rest of our stay. Recharging by the pool and enjoying some delicious meals, including a fun character breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace and a delicious dinner at Homecomin’. Then it’s on to EPCOT (powered by the Skyliner, of course), where we share our favorite moments, snacks, and what it was like navigating the day when not everyone was feeling 100%. From there, we head to Animal Kingdom for a full lineup of highlights: safari, Festival of the Lion King, conquering Expedition Everest, and experiencing Flight of Passage. We’ll wrap things up with more food reviews (including Yak & Yeti), overall thoughts on the parks, and our delayed journey home. | Episode 86: From Takeoff to Hollywood- Trip Recap Part 1 | 25 Mar 2026 | 00:47:11
We are back from our Walt Disney World adventure and kicking off our trip recap series! In this episode of Soarin’ Around WDW, I’m joined by my dad as we relive our Hollywood Studios day, our first park day of the trip and one filled with early mornings, changing plans, and a whole lot of Disney magic. We start from the very beginning: rope drop strategy, Skyliner tips, and what it’s really like tackling the parks solo with kids (and maybe a little overpacking 😅). From riding Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway twice before 9am to surprise character sightings like Jiminy Cricket, we break down how the morning unfolded and what worked (and what didn’t). We also share highlights like Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania (with some first-time wins!), Rise of the Resistance, and Blake’s very first coaster on Slinky Dog Dash. Plus, we talk shows like Indiana Jones and Beauty and the Beast, and whether some of these classics are starting to feel a little different. Of course, we couldn’t skip our experience at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. Covering the food, the atmosphere, and a cast member who truly made the meal special. As the day went on, things didn’t go exactly as planned, with Aili not feeling well and having to head back early, but we still wrapped up the night with Fantasmic and some very memorable (and slightly frustrating) moments. We also hear about my dad’s stay off-property, his visit to Kona Cafe the next morning, and his overall thoughts on crowds, Lightning Lanes, and our Hollywood Studios strategy, including our experience using Wait Magic. It’s an honest, detailed look at a full Disney park day: complete with highs, hiccups, and everything in between.

And yes… we ate. A LOT. 🤭 Snacks, snacks, and more snacks, plus THREE new sit-down restaurants. We also get real about the holiday weekend crowds. How busy it actually felt, what wait times were like, and why Lightning Lane Multi Pass ended up being 100% worth it for us on these park days. Weather-wise? Absolute perfection… until it wasn’t. Our final day brought crazy cold rain in Downtown Disney, and we’re sharing how that changed our plans and whether it was still worth braving the storm. In Episode 2 of the Haunted Mansion portion of our Treasured Attraction series, we return to the gates of the esteemed mansion to explore what lies beneath the cobwebs and candlelight. This week, we dive into the most widely accepted combined legend of the attraction, piecing together generations of tragedy, curses, and ghostly residents. We break down the layered backstory of figures like Master Gracey, Constance Hatchaway, Madame Leota, and the Ghost Bride, and talk about why Disney has intentionally never given the Haunted Mansion a single definitive story. From Imagineer intent to evolving ride updates, we explore how the Mansion stays alive by changing with every generation, and every ride. But the story doesn’t stop at the ride itself. We also step behind the scenes to discuss some of the most legendary Haunted Mansion experiences ever offered, including exclusive after-hours dinners inside the attraction, Club 33’s infamous Ghostly Retreat, large-scale Haunted Mansion galas, and rare backstage tours that revealed the secrets behind the Mansion’s most iconic illusions. To round out the episode, we share some of our favorite Haunted Mansion Easter eggs to keep an eye out for on your next visit: from hidden wedding rings and cursed families to crypts packed with musical, literary, and Imagineer lore. In this episode, we’re officially kicking off our Valentine’s Weekend trip to Disneyland with a full pre-trip planning breakdown! We’re sharing how this unexpected West Coast trip came together thanks to a work conference, why we decided this would be a kid-free getaway, and how we made it all work financially while already having another Disney trip on the books. We dive into travel logistics, including flights, off-property hotel choices, and navigating conference-discounted park tickets (plus what not to do if you ever go that route). We also break down our park ticket strategy, Lightning Lane decisions, and how modifying conference tickets turned into a much bigger process than expected. This episode also sets the stage for a huge solo park day, as one of us prepares to attempt an EveryRide challenge at Disneyland Resort to raise money for Give Kids the World—a cause that’s incredibly close to our hearts. We talk about what the challenge involves, why we’re doing it, and how you can participate through donations and a giveaway. | Episode 78- Parks of the Future Part 4: The Moderate Resort Disney Is Missing | 28 Jan 2026 | 00:49:38
Using our WED Wheel and listener polls, we set out to design a resort that feels like it has always belonged at Walt Disney World. One rooted in story, nostalgia, and thoughtful theming rather than characters on every wall. Olivia pitches a Frontierland-inspired resort influenced by the lore of Big Thunder Mountain, blending subtle storytelling with outdoor adventure and family-friendly pricing. Meanwhile, Dad dreams up the ultimate Walt Disney World nostalgia resort, celebrating the park’s earliest years through archival photos, extinct attraction vehicles, and a lobby that feels like a living museum. Along the way, we break down what defines a Disney moderate resort, discuss where these resorts could live on property, explore transportation options, room layouts, pools, dining, and recreation, and tackle how new development (like the upcoming Disney Lakeshore Lodge) could reshape the Bay Lake resort area. We wrap things up with a Would You Rather question that gets to the heart of Disney storytelling: reimagining old attractions, bringing back the past, or creating something entirely new. Would you stay at a resort like these? And what do you think Disney’s next moderate resort should be? Let us know and join the conversation.
| Episode 77- Nostalgic Nights: High School Musical Turns 20 | 21 Jan 2026 | 00:51:51 | |
We’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of a Disney Channel phenomenon that defined a generation: High School Musical. In this very special Nostalgic Nights episode, we revisit the movie that taught us it’s okay to want more than one dream, ask whether Sharpay Evans was actually the villain, and determine if “We’re All in This Together” still holds up two decades later. For this watch-through, I finally made Madi sit down and experience High School Musical for the very first time (yes, really). We talk first impressions, early-2000s fashion whiplash, the realism of Troy’s sports-versus-theater dilemma, and whether this movie could ever be made the same way today. Plus, we dive into behind-the-scenes trivia, Zac Efron lore, soundtrack supremacy, and the cultural impact that turned a made-for-TV movie into an iconic franchise. Is High School Musical truly deserving of its legendary status, or is it pure nostalgia? And the big question: would Madi willingly watch High School Musical 2? Grab your Wildcats gear and press play, this is the start of something new. 🎶🔥
| Episode 76- Treasured Attractions: Tower of Terror Pt 2 | 14 Jan 2026 | 00:39:37 | |
In Part 2 of our Treasured Attractions series on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, we take a global (and deeply personal) look at one of Disney’s most beloved attractions. We explore where Tower of Terror has existed around the world, including California, Paris, and Tokyo, and how each version adapted the same core concept to fit its park, culture, and storytelling style. From Tokyo’s original Hotel Hightower to Paris’s evolving narratives, we break down what makes each tower unique. Then we shift into memories: first rides, unforgettable reactions, family members riding purely out of love (and fear), and our thoughts on the Guardians of the Galaxy transformation. We wrap up by talking about why Tower of Terror remains a favorite despite not loving scary things, answer a listener question about our dream guest-facing Cast Member role, and end with a fun Would You Rather: unlimited rides or unlimited snacks?
| Episode 75- Treasured Attractions: Tower of Terror Pt 1 | 07 Jan 2026 | 00:42:45 | |
In this episode of Soarin’ Around WDW, we’re checking into one of Walt Disney World’s most iconic attractions: the Hollywood Tower Hotel. Joined by my dad as co-host, we take a deep dive into the history, development, and legacy of The Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror. We explore how the attraction came to life in the early 1990s as Disney-MGM Studios’ first true E-ticket, from its roots in abandoned Imagineering concepts to its opening alongside Sunset Boulevard on July 22, 1994. We discuss the creative minds behind the project, the decision to tie the story to The Twilight Zone, and the unexpected challenges, like a construction sinkhole, that shaped the final design. Then we break down how the ride actually works, explaining the revolutionary elevator system, AGV ride vehicles, the Fifth Dimension illusion, and the powerful Otis motors that pull riders faster than gravity. We also talk about how the Tower evolved over time, from a single drop to today’s randomized drop sequences. Along the way, we uncover some of our favorite Easter eggs hidden across the Tower’s versions around the world and discuss the 1997 Tower of Terror TV movie starring Kirsten Dunst and Steve Guttenberg. From storytelling to engineering, this episode celebrates why the Tower of Terror remains one of Disney’s most beloved and brilliantly themed attractions.
