Welkom bij ... mijn moeilijkste verhaal tot nu toe

We kwamen een paar dagen later terug bij de haven.

A few days later we came back to the harbor.

De taxichauffeur vroeg ons waar we heen wilden.

The taxi driver asked us where we wanted to go.

Wij zeiden toen "ehh... ehmmm nou... naar onze auto".

We said then "ehh... ehmmm well... to our car".

Toen zei hij "Nee, echt!? Is het een witte Kia Picanto?!"

Then he said "No, really!? Is it a white Kia Picanto?!"

Wij keken elkaar verward en een beetje bang aan..

We looked at each other a little confused and scared..

In de dagen dat wij in de boomhut zaten, was onze auto een soort legende geworden in het dorp.

In the days we were in the tree house, our car had become an urban legend in the village.

De taxichauffeur bracht ons bij de auto en de auto was....... helemaal oke, niet kapot.

The taxi driver brought us to the car and the car was........ completely fine, not broken.

Het enige was dat er een mierenfamilie naar mijn fantablikje in de auto was verhuisd.

The only thing was, that there was an ant family that moved to my car.

Alle bomen waren weg.. het was alsof het nooit gebeurd was..

All the trees were gone.. it was as if it never happened..

what happened to the car 🚗 ?

Welkom bij…. the first episode of my new Podcast! This is part 2 of the Dutch Birthdays episode :)

This episode is has slightly longer sentences and a bit more complex vocabulary!

Today is my birthday and I’m happy to share about my life long experiences on Dutch birthdays, which are oftentimes… awkward. I will tell you about the things you MUST do at Dutch birthdays and things you can expect. We will also be talking about the strange word ‘jarig’.
