And it's definitely not a 'do it once and forget it' kind of deal. Oh, and watch out for those shady black hat tactics – they're a bit like a house of cards, ready to tumble down at any moment. The real deal with SEO? It's way more than just cramming your site with keywords. It's about the finer things like backlinks, which are pretty much like getting a thumbs-up from other websites.

Let me share a bit of my own journey with SEO companies. It's been quite a ride, folks – a mix of good, bad, and some hard-learned lessons. I admit, I tried to cut corners in the beginning, looking for the cheapest deals. But here's the thing with SEO: you really do get what you pay for. I'll tell you about the time I finally hit the jackpot with a company that was straight-up about how long it takes to see results. They even had the guts to offer a guarantee, and that's something to look for.

A common mistake is leaping into tactics without a clear strategy. This often leads to last-minute panic and haphazard marketing attempts, such as hastily posting on social media without a plan. To illustrate the power of a marketing plan, consider staying connected with your existing clients. Using automation, like sending regular emails, you can create a consistent flow of work.
