While much of the Jewish world is preparing for the Feast of Trumpets, we have already completed Sukkot and Shemini Atzeret. So who is early—and who is late? In this episode, we examine one of the most important questions surrounding the biblical calendar: What actually determines the beginning of the year? Rather than beginning the year with Tishrei and Rosh Hashanah, Exodus identifies Aviv as the first month. We discuss the barley harvest, the biblical agricultural cycle, the development of Jewish calendar traditions, and why the distinction between the first and seventh months matters. Then we turn to a fascinating mystery surrounding Shemini Atzeret, Simchat Torah, and John 10:22: “And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.” Most readers immediately identify this “Feast of Dedication” with Hanukkah on Kislev 25. But when John 7–10 is examined as a continuous narrative beginning with Sukkot, does that assumption still hold? Could John be describing something connected to the seventh month instead? Why would a Christian today care about Sukkot—the biblical Feast of Tabernacles? In this episode of the Sighted Moon Podcast, Ryan Nall and Joseph Dumond explore one of the most joyful and prophetic feasts found in Scripture. What do you do when your understanding of Scripture begins to change, but your spouse remains where they are? On this episode of the Sighted Moon Podcast, Ryan Nall and Joseph Dumond tackle the difficult subject of living with an unconverted mate. Joseph speaks from more than four decades of personal experience as his journey into the Sabbath, Torah, and a different understanding of the Bible took him down a spiritual path his wife did not share. Why did darkness cover the land for three hours while Yeshua hung on the tree—and why did it happen at the very time of day when the sun should have been shining brightest? In this episode of the Sighted Moon Podcast, Ryan and Joseph Dumond begin a deep study into one of the Bible’s most fascinating and recurring themes: darkness and the presence of God. Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease, and on a corner of the altar desolating abominations, even until the end. And that which was decreed shall be poured on the desolator. Today we talk about the strait of Hormuz and what it will look like in the event that it doesn’t open back up soon. Regardless, we are already in a bad situation and the global impact on distribution chain supply has already been disrupted. It’s only a matter of time before it hits the western countries. The only reason the west hasn’t felt it, is because we are running on reserves and that is projected to be about a 30-ish day supply of oil. Once these reserves deplete, your local grocer will stop getting shipments of food, the trucks that deliver the goods will be Parked and you will be hungry. Unless you are storing some RIGHT NOW, you will be going hungry. I hope we are wrong and the whole thing gets sorted out and everything goes back to normal. But it’s already too late for that. We know what the Bible says about the days we are living in and I think it’s say to say, prepare. There is no rapture that is going to save you from the great tribulation. It’s only your relationship with God that is going to get you through what is coming. I’ve been talking about this for years and even Ryan has been speaking about this in his ministry for a year and a half or so. Are you going to listen, or will you be one of the foolish virgins?
