Honestly, Eli got us hooked on this idea he got from his Dad (who also happens to be one of the Paladin's players) because he didn't want to waste an ENTIRE lemon or lime called Microshots. It sounds like six full shots and Craig and Rob are both entertained by the idea. We catch the table talk bug as we try to discern the flavor for what our session zero's look like with the huge news that Craig has started up a live, in person game! Eli wanted to spring a question about balance on us, particularly what does it mean for a game to be balanced and while Craig opened the can of philosophical potential of possibilities, Rob tried hard to separate over powered with balance in the metaphysical sense. Yet, all of it was to learn that we were being lead into a conversation about Rob attacking birds in the name of distaste and balance because of a very... very.. particular moment by Paladin Eli. The Paladins of Podcast are back! Check out how Rob has decided to go all in with his newest campaign and some of the tweaks Craig has been playing with while Eli brings up SHOOK: The Social Interaction Roleplaying Game because of it's great focus on storytelling with interpersonal triggers and problem solving. While Rob thinks a folder idea similar to a character dossier for his players is good, Eli gives him the good ol' one up with an entire 100 page folder one of his DM's gave him full of world information from the characters background perspective.

How do you get your table to sit down, shut up, and pay attention to the game? How do you get them to participate? How do you get them to show up on time? Well, you simply make them sign a binding contract that states if they don't do these things there will be full fiery retribution filled with hate and brimstone. Okay, not really. But we do talk about what has become known as "The Social Contract," which helps state expectations of the players, the Dungeon Master, and sets the baseline for table behavior and etiquette. This was the first time Paladin of Podcast Rob has really taken the time to talk about one to his party very specifically, and it's now even available as a freebie at EpicTableGames.com. Paladins Craig and Eli both are interested to hear more about Rob's presentation being his first time, and we talk about the whole idea of using one and how much translates between in person games and online games.

Our Paladin of Podcast Craig had some amazing news to deliver today, and it sent us down only the beginning of the rabbit hole of designing content that is going to be published. We cover a lot of the initial idea formation and the work that is needed to put out content that you're writing for a client and some of the expectations you can set as a creator. This is a passion for everyone, and while we'd all do it for free Craig makes a great point of setting expectations for payment and Rob talks about how he broke his own rule with spec work. Eli really fills our trio with his experience writing for Hackmaster, and talks about his system of organization to keep both himself and the readers of work on track without loosing their minds.
