Yes, that coaster is closed.... and so is that one. Greg, Steph, and Bob all talk about the latest subtractions from Six Flags as well as other things going on in the industry. Kick off the new year with us as we talk about what happened in the last couple of weeks of 2024.

Side Friction - Episode 58 - "Thanksgiving Tony and the Coaster Harvest"
November 30th, 2024
Steph, Adam, and Bob are joined by Piper and LJ for this Friendsgiving episode. Touching on a few news stories but mostly a whole lot of rabbit trails this is an episode that will certainly bring you a lot of laughs. We hope all of our US listeners had a great Thanksgving holiday.
Side Friction - Episode 57 - "Come On, Knock it Off!"
November 23rd, 2024
Greg and Bob discuss the happenings at IAAPA as slim as that news is but also talk about a lot of other interesting things including a whole lot of knock offs of other coasters and rides.
Greg, Bob, and Ryan the Ride Mechanic enter what seems to be a twilight zone situation with Bob oddly finding rainbows and butterflies where no one thought he ever would. This episode is packed with the news of the week but mostly a lot of random rabbit trails that the show loves to embrace.
The whole team (Greg, Bob, Adam, and Steph) put on one of the most fun episodes we've had in a while. Of course we cover the elephant in the room and the Dick who killed it as well as a few other stories. You won't want to skip this one.
Greg and Bob make the best out of a week that certain other US news far out-paced amusement park news. It's one of our shortest shows but has lots of interesting speculation and some unique stories.
This show starts off with some sad news as Bob and the others remember his mom who passed away on October 17th but then the whole crew (Bob, Steph, Greg, and Adam) all get into the latest news and turn it into a fun episode.
It's happening everywhere including parks and especially at Disneyland and Six Flags Entertainment Corp.... prices are going up. Greg and Bob call it out along with a whole host of other frustrations and a few things that are exciting as well. It's a shorter episode than normal but should still keep you entertained.
We're back with another episode and for it we've got the entire team together again. Join Bob, Greg, Steph, and Adam as they discuss an extremely wide range of news stories with the typical rabbit trails leading to who knows what.
Steph and Bob go on a wild ride of news. Bob gets fired up and Steph actually comes along for the ride when it comes to the other half of Todd Joseph. It doesn't stop there, however, so many news stories to address that some of the ones lesser important ones needed to be kicked to next week so that they could give these the time they deserve.

Side Friction - Episode 50 - "Holy Hell, Watch Out for the Mayonnaise!"
September 14th, 2024
We've made it to 50 episodes! This episode is packed full of not only news but a few flash backs, some trivia, and of course rabbit trails galore but we didn't stop at content, we also packed it full of hosts with Greg, Steph, and Bob pulling Adam into the mix as well. Come along for the ride!
Side Friction - Episode 49 - "Bobbing for Treasure?"
September 7th, 2024
Greg and Bob find that it's a famine this week when it comes to news but they manage to scrape together enough to talk about including a couple stories that pop up just before the record.
Steph and Bob discuss a collection of news stories ranging from infuriating to completely expected. It won't cost a thing unless your name is Myke who owes a few rides on Tumbili.
Greg and Bob are joined by Ryan the Ride Mechanic to talk about a few minor stories. Oh, who are we kidding.... Herschend, Six Flags, Epic Universe, Bob riding Rapterra..... There's just a lot going on here making this one of the longer episodes we've had in a while but you should find nearly all of it enjoyable.
Side Friction - Episode 46 - "Binding Arbitration"
August 17th, 2024
Steph is back and joins Bob as they discuss the dystopian legal future Disney helps bring us and the other half of the Six Flags company that forgot to make their announcements with the Cedar Fair half last week. It'll be as much fun as looking at magic eye images.
Side Friction - Episode 45 - "You Put My Volcano Where?"
August 10th, 2024
Mother Nature tries really really hard to make this show not happen and First Energy doesn't do anyone any favors either but Greg (who usually hides in the background doing work making our website not a bright yellow eyesore) joins Bob to address all the Cedar Fair things. With a little luck Northern Ohio will have power next week and Steph will return.
This week is different. Steph needed to take a break so filling in for her is Bob's Nephew, LJ. Join them as they discuss the news and LJ learns just how frequent rabbit trails can happen.
Side Friction - Episode 43 - "BSOD: Blue Spin of Death"
July 20th, 2024
Riley from That's So Mid joins Steph and Bob to talk about, well, whatever they feel like.... but they do fit in some news here and there. It may not be the most news heavy episode but it is highly entertaining.
Side Friction - Episode 42 - "Decades of Research"
July 13th, 2024
Bob and Steph put lots of time and effort into this show..... or maybe they just tossed some links on a Google Doc and hit record. We'll let you decide.
The merge happened..... and Steph and Bob both got their glimpses at each side of that merger. Hear the trip reports mixed in with the news from the last 2 weeks and whatever rabbit trails turn up along the way.
A lot of sad news stories this week but Steph and Bob do a great job of keeping the episode fun and, by somewhat intentional design, the show gets more fun as it goes on.
Side Friction - Episode 39 - "Wingcano's Epic Barnyard Adventure"
June 15th, 2024
West from High Rollers joins Steph and Bob for an adventure in whatever the hell they feel like talking about. A seriously fun episode where lots of topics get covered whether or not they are here on the rundown.
Side Friction - Episode 38 - "Suck It, Tony Clark, Suck It"
June 8th, 2024
Steph talks all about HWN and Santa Claus (the town, of course) and doesn't want to stop but eventually Bob gets her back on track only to go on a few other rabbit trails.
Steph is joined by Bri (Instagram: Zero Bri Roll) and Cat (Instagram: coastercat112) of the Women Love Coasters community for a special episode to celebrate the Women of the coaster world. In addition to covering the latest coaster news, the ladies certainly don't forget to pay their respects to Time Warp.
Steph and Bob barely stay on the reservation as somehow talking about coasters and industry news leads into discussions about the strange things that border the realm of the paranormal.
CoasterBro of CoasterCuzzies and Airtime Myke of basically everywhere else join Steph and Bob as they talk about the elephant in the room as well as a very controversial coaster ranking situation and a few other hot takes on various news stories.
Staying on topic gets a little difficult for Steph and Bob this week but they manage to make it through the whole episode without talking about.... that thing that everyone keeps talking about entirely too much.
Steph gushes about Top Thrill 2 while Bob remains a somewhat skeptical, Six Flags lets everyone down, and Universal lights up the sky as well as a few other stories to cover this week.
Side Friction - Episode 32 - "A Charge Like No Other"
April 27th, 2024
Bob gets angry about Top Thrill 2. Honestly, did you expect anything else? Well, if you act now Steph will throw in a tiny little ferris wheel at a tiny little park and both Bob and Steph will try to figure out exactly what's going on at Santa's Village.
Bob and Steph talk about 5 parks and a fair..... oh you want more? Well then, take a listen and find out what rabbit trails they encounter (hint, the critters aren't rabbits).
Side Friction - Episode 29 - "Unforeseen Circumstances"
April 6th, 2024
Right out of the gate Steph and Bob find a double rabbit trail which gets Bob fired up about.... various things..... eventually Steph changes the subject and gets the show back on track to talk about what might be one of the most interesting collection of stories the show has reported on in a single week.
In this special episode you're not going to get a lot of news but you will get a lot of history as Bob and Steph have a conversation with Brian Knoebel and Stacy Yutko of Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, PA. You'll get to hear some interesting stories about the park, the history, and the family (and how the definition of family goes far beyond blood) as well as some things to look for this season at the park. If you haven't been to Knoebels yet we hope this episode will convince you that you are missing something special. You can check out all that Knoebels has to offer at www.knoebels.com
Not a ton happening this week but Steph and Bob still managed to fill a whole show and dug up a few news stories that aren't getting much attention elsewhere. Oh.... rabbit trails too.
Side Friction - Episode 26 - "Macrovision At Work"
March 16th, 2024
After nearly 3 hours last week you get a shorter show this week but it's really just a ton of fun starting with a couple huge rabbit trails before getting into this week's news.
Side Friction - Episode 25 - "Positive Complaints"
March 9th, 2024
Airtime Myke stops by and the entire show becomes one big huge rabbit trail but they sneak in news here and there. It's the longest Side Friction show ever but time flies by like you were on the OG Top Thrill Dragster (before it got it's buckeye card).
Side Friction - Episode 24 - "Big Dam Disappointment"
March 2nd, 2024
The day Bob has waited for has finally arrived - Steph is upset with Cedar Point. Not that anything else really matters but then Steph and Bob both talk about the latest news stories of the industry.
In the weird recent trend of Steph and Bob going off topic while still somehow staying on topic they'll revisit that behavior..... right after they have a random conversation about cell phones.
