Our Hearty welcome to all Shiva devotees in this show. The word Jyotirlinga is formed by combining two words, Jyoti and Linga. The divine light of Lord Shiva was manifested in the form of Jyoti. According to religious beliefs and scriptures, Lord Shiva appeared as a divine light. He appeared in different forms at 12 different places on earth. Jyotirlinga means the pillar of light. It is said that once there was a debate between Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu about who is the supreme deity. At that moment, Lord Shiva appeared as a pillar of light and instructed them to find the end of this pillar. Lord Vishnu went up to search for the end and Lord Brahma went down. However, both of them were unsuccessful in finding the end. Later, Lord Shiva brought the pillar of light down to earth and it is now known as Jyotirlinga. ज्योतिर्लिंग दो शब्दों से मिलकर बनता है ज्योति़लिंग। शिव प्रकाशमान ज्योति के रूप में प्रकट हुये थे। धार्मिक मान्यताओं व ग्रथों के अनुसार शिव साक्षात रुप में एक दिव्य ज्योति के रूप में साक्षात प्रकट हुये थे। यह धरती के 12 अलग-अलग स्थानों पर अपने विभिन्न रूपों में साक्षात विराजमान हुये थे। ज्योतिर्लिंग अर्थ प्रकाश स्तंभ होता है। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि एक बार भगवान ब्रह्मा को और भगवान विष्णु के बीच में यह बहस हुई कि कौन सर्वाेच्च देवता है। तभी भगवान शिव प्रकाश स्तंभ के रूप में प्रकट हुए और प्रत्येक से इस प्रकाश स्तम्भ का अंत खोजने को कहा। भगवान विष्णु ऊपर की ओर भगवान ब्रह्मा नीचे की ओर इस ज्योतिर्लिंग का अंत खोजने के लिए चले गए। लेकिन फिर भी उन्हें इसका अंत नहीं मिला। उसके बाद में भगवान शिव ने प्रकाश स्तंभ को पृथ्वी पर गिरा दिया और आज उसे ही ज्योतिर्लिंग के नाम से जाना जाता है। Millions of listeners seek out Bingepods (Ideabrew Studios Network content) every day.
