As a youth growing up in Mound City, Missouri, Pete Clegett took advantage of the abundance of water fowl hunting opportunities and became a regular in many of the goose pits. An early fascination with duck and goose calling led Pete to learn from veteran callers and develop a style of his own. His ability at deceiving ducks became legendary and sent him into calling competition. At the age of 17 Pete won the Missouri State Calling Championship. Pete continued to compete in contests and won numerous awards. Pete’s love of the outdoors also included being a professional guide and hunting camp owner in Canada for 15 years. Greg also has the opportunity to work on state owned Wildlife Management Areas. The area biologists and the foresters manage these areas for a diverse mix of tree species and age classes. A chance client invitation to participate in the Aiming for a Cure celebrity bird hunt reignited his love of upland hunting and gun dogs.
