Ranking on Amazon - A9 Masterclass.

Here is a quick overview.

Ranking on Amazon - A9 Masterclass Part 1

This is our first Masterclass in understanding the A9 algo, where we dive deep into the three main components of product search and provide real-life examples to help you understand how it all works based on the science papers and directly from A9 team member presentations.

In the first episode of our series, we break down the Query Category Score, Hunger Score, and In-Category Relevance Score, and explain how they are used by Amazon's Search Relevance Team to determine the best results to show when someone executes a search query and how they combine all three.

We provide clear explanations and real-life examples to help you understand how these components work and how you can use this knowledge for your own brand. We also dispel some of the myths surrounding A9 algorithm and provide insights directly from the source.

This episode is 13 minutes, watch to the end as you will hear some really interesting stuff on the "Honeymoon" Period.

Launching on Amazon In The EU In 2023 (Roundtable)08 Feb 202300:52:04
Launching on Amazon In The EU In 2023 (Roundtable)   In this session we talk about all areas of launching in the EU, from compliance, VAT, Taxes, what products to launch from your brand catalogue and how to target correctly without wasting time on products that will simply not work. We will discuss translations, multi language keywords, launching and getting reviews.   With me on the panel is Mel (AVASK) whom heads up a multi national Tax empire, 7 figure seller Fe Soutter, translations whizz Jana Krekic whom manages around 100 translations in many, many languages.

Jana Krekic is the founder and CEO of YLT Translations, the largest Amazon-centric localization firm in the space today. An international public speaker, polyglot and a translator herself, Jana has considerable knowledge and experience in e-Commerce and Amazon, which she has - and continues to - leverage on to help 7- to 9-figure businesses expand on a global scale.

She heads around 80 native speakers, who take content and localise it to convert and engage in a seller's target country. Each translator is well-versed in Amazon's dynamic and ever-changing landscape, and can perform the keyword research and write the copy needed to improve conversions and engagement.

The result is a localisation firm that transposes and transcreates content to maximise conversion and engagement. Clients range from medium-sized enterprises ready to take the plunge to global expansion, to eCommerce monoliths seeking to spread their footprint.

Melanie Shabangu-Katsari
Melanie Shabangu is a highly experienced and qualified professional with over 20 years in the field of Global Expansion, Tax Advisory, and Accounting.

With her expertise in the e-commerce industry, she not only guarantees clients' tax compliance but also brings innovative growth solutions to drive their businesses forward.

Fe Soutter
After leaving a teaching career in 2008, Fiona Soutter saw the opportunity to establish an online business. The mother of three was drawn to the idea of being a 'digital nomad' - she wanted the flexibility of working anywhere, anytime.

Fiona dedicated her efforts to learning about the world of digital marketing. She founded a consultancy business, spoke at events, and published books.

However, a car accident in 2014 derailed Fiona's progress, and she had to fight through years of chronic pain and all that came with it to re-establish herself.

In 2020, Fiona launched her e-commerce business. By combining her accumulated skills with a powerful purpose, she developed a brand that resonated with her audience, which resulted in her being able to create a multiple 7-figure business within 18 months. Fiona is now three years into her e-commerce journey and is now close to launching in the EU.

Amazon Exits in 2023 - Roundtable (The Brokers)18 Jan 202300:43:07
Amazon Exits in 2023 - Roundtable (The Brokers)   Today I am joined by Michal Baumwald Oron, Ben Leonard and Chris Shipferling.   We had a golden run from late 2019 until the beginning of 2022 (exits) when deals across the industry dried up almost overnight. Then in March (2022) we started to see the public layoffs across the aggregators and less money being raised across the board. As the multiples came down, sellers started to focus their energy on growth and now we are starting to see signs of an uptick of deals getting done again.   Today we discuss some of these trends with brokers that get to see everything across the board, not just deals done with aggregators but also private buyers in the market.   Michal Baumwald Oron, CEO, and co-founder of Fortunet, a leading investment banking firm specialising in e-commerce. With 25+ years of experience as an executive manager, investment banker, and commercial lawyer in senior positions at international leading brands, Michal has led major public offerings, including initial public offerings (IPOs) and follow-on offerings, as well as M&A global transactions and joint ventures.   Ben Leonard is the classic millennial entrepreneur. He built a business on a laptop, in a cupboard, in his spare time. The difference? Ben grew an international 7-figure business and successfully exited after 3 years; the business holy grail. Now Ben is doing it all over again, and helping others to do the same with his e-commerce brokerage (EcomBrokers.co.uk) who help sellers sell now, or will mentor you to the perfect exit.

Recessions Proofing Your Amazon Business For Amazon Sellers17 Oct 202200:26:07

Steve Simonson joins me today,  to chat about the current climate and the impact on sellers. Patterns often repeat themselves, focussing on PNL per product and dialling in on the products with a strong profit profile. With consumer uncertainty, we need to focus on "not being" over leveraged, turning trash into cash and being lean on inventory. Rigouse economic scrutiny is a must and budgeting by justifying and approving all expenses for each accounting period, rather than basing it on your past spending.

AD TALKS: Advanced PPC Budget Allocation04 Jul 202400:23:13
AD TALKS: Advanced Budget Allocation Introduction

In this episode of AD TALKS, Melissa dives deep into the critical topic of budget allocation for Amazon PPC. The discussion centers around how to effectively distribute a limited advertising budget to maximize return on investment while navigating the complexities of various ad types and seasonal trends.

Business and Account Goals
  • Increasing sales
  • Enhancing brand awareness
  • Launching new products
Data-Driven Approach

The core idea is to create a structured, data-driven approach to budget allocation that aligns with company goals and adapts to market conditions.

Avoiding Shiny Object Syndrome

One major pitfall is the temptation to try too many things at once, leading to a fragmented strategy with too many targets on a small budget.

Approach to Budget Allocation 1. Define Goals

Set clear, specific goals for what you want to achieve with your advertising budget.

2. Analyze Historical Data

Use past performance data to inform your budget allocation decisions.

3. Segment Budget

Divide your budget into segments based on goals, product lines, or other relevant criteria.

4. Keyword Strategy

Develop a keyword strategy that targets the most relevant and high-performing keywords.

5. Seasonal Adjustments

Adjust your budget allocation to account for seasonal trends and peak periods.

6. Competitive Analysis

Monitor your competitors' strategies and adjust your approach accordingly.

7. Continuous Optimization

Regularly review and optimize your campaigns to ensure maximum efficiency.

8. Automate and Scale

Use automation tools to manage and scale your campaigns more effectively.

9. Monitor and Report

Keep track of your campaign performance and make data-driven adjustments as needed.

Conclusion

An effective Amazon Advertising budget allocation strategy requires a balance of data-driven decisions, continuous monitoring, and flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions. By defining clear goals, analyzing past performance, and regularly optimizing your campaigns, you can maximize your advertising ROI and achieve your business objectives.

Why Ranking Premium Priced Products Is A Misnomer10 Oct 202200:23:12

Why Ranking Premium Priced Products Is A Misnomer

Today I breakdown Premium Priced Products and why most of the time they fail to get, or maintain the top three keyword placements.

This is one of the most common issues sellers face when speaking to them.

They ask me either in person or online. "Why is my product is not converting"

I ask them, to do a search with their main keywords and 9 times out of 10, their product is priced higher than the average price of the page and / or the top three positions. Normally 50% or more...

So we broke down some of the key data points to explore this.
