1000 Lb Sisters S9:E3 "It's My Music Video and I'll Cry If I Want To

Tammy and Andrea take their first steps toward wedding planning, while Amy takes her first steps toward a full-blown family meltdown. After her goals get "burned" on New Year's Eve, Amy prepares to confront her siblings, debut her music video dreams, and cry her way through approximately 47 different interruptions. Meanwhile, Tammy gleefully fans the flames, encouraging Amy to confront the older siblings while making sure everyone knows exactly what everyone else said. Chris gains 40 pounds of "mostly muscle," the family goes rock climbing, and Amy discovers that perhaps not everyone is ready to become backup dancers. Just another peaceful day in Slatonville.

Gypsy Rose is changing everything about herself except, apparently, the parts that make her life a perpetual disaster. New nose, blonde hair, new teeth—and somehow still waking Ryan up at 2 AM to tell him she misses Ken.

Speaking of Ken, he's back to explain why he walked away from Gypsy, and his reasoning is about as convincing as a reality TV apology: apparently, everyone around him decided their relationship was bad for her self-development, so he heroically sacrificed their love. Sure, Jan. He definitely didn't just get cold feet when the woman he was waiting for actually got out.

Meanwhile, Ryan continues fighting for a marriage that seems to have been assembled entirely out of red flags and unresolved feelings. Rod attempts to bond with his daughter without Kristy narrating over every word, Gypsy learns to ride a bike (with predictable results), and the family debates whether social media is ruining her mental health while actively filming all of it for television.

1000 Lb Sisters S9:E2 "Do You Want to Build A….Music Video?"

Tammy gets engaged and expects the family to throw a damn parade, only to discover that nobody has apparently read the “appropriate reaction to Tammy’s engagement” handbook. Then she meets Andrea’s friends and spends the entire night interrupting conversations, demanding attention, hijacking stories, correcting Andrea, announcing that her mom loves Andrea, asking if everyone needs drinks, dramatically putting her head on the table, and generally behaving like the world’s most exhausting third wheel. Andrea finally admits that Tammy’s behavior is embarrassing—and honestly, girl, we noticed.

Meanwhile, Amy gets approved for skin removal, gets the green light for a music video, and immediately discovers that her siblings have absolutely no interest in celebrating anything she says. Merry Christmas, everybody!

Gypsy might be pregnant, Ryan is spiraling over Ken, Kristy is keeping the Ken door suspiciously cracked, and everyone thinks a puppy will somehow fix this dumpster fire of a marriage.

Then Gypsy tells Mia about their sex life, Ryan discovers it was filmed, and suddenly “You told your sister” becomes “YOU TOLD THE WORLD.”

Meanwhile, Mia teaches Gypsy about the morning-after pill, Rod tries to keep everyone from making things worse, and Pixie becomes the newest—and arguably most stable—member of the family.

Oh, and Ken is back on camera to announce that he absolutely does not support the marriage.

Because apparently we weren't messy enough yet.

Amy has lost weight, gained confidence, and apparently decided that makes her a gothic-country-rap icon. Unfortunately, the confidence came with approximately 400% more annoying. While she terrorizes the family with AI-generated “music,” Tammy and Amy attempt to repair their relationship, Chris tries to get Tammy moving, and Andrea tries desperately to maintain a life outside of her girlfriend. Then, in what can only be described as a catastrophic lapse in judgment, Andrea proposes. Girl. RUN.

This week we are on our way to Cut Off Louisiana to visit Gypsy's old haunts, get some tattoos and talk about Ken.. like a lot.

So after an hour of trash cans, throat farts, pool pee accusations, and actual farts, TLC somehow managed to make a weight-loss show feel like nothing happened.

Well... that's all, folks. Extreme Sisters never came back, and honestly this finale didn't give us much reason to miss it. Randi finally tells Jordan she's moving out with her husband, Ashley and Vee are still arguing about surrogacy, Anna and Lucy get the most sensible advice of the entire series from a psychic claiming to channel their dad (which they mostly ignore), and Christina gives birth while everyone pretends their family drama is behind them.

Not exactly a grand finale—more like everyone agreeing to stop arguing for five minutes before the cameras turned off. Thanks for following us through one of TLC's weirdest experiments. Goodbye, Extreme Sisters. We probably won't miss you.

1000 Lb Sisters S4:E1 "The Sweet and Sour Life"

Tammy survives yet another near-death experience, wakes up with a trach, and the constant throat boggers were enough to make me gag. Glad she's alive, but I could've done without the medical close-ups.

Amy reveals she's pregnant again, dyes her hair blue (honestly, it works), and reminds us her pregnancy cravings belong on a Food Network horror special.

The siblings visit Tammy, tell her to get her life together, and just when things seem to be improving, she stops breathing again because of a blockage in her trach.

Overall? Kind of a boring premiere outside of Tammy's health scares. I'm honestly more excited that a brand-new season has already been announced than I was by this episode.

The triplets' fundraiser ends with Hannah announcing she's taking a solo vacation, sending her sisters into a full-blown identity crisis.

Randi asks Derek if Jordan can come on their honeymoon (yes, really), and Derek counters by saying he wants them to buy a house after the wedding.

Ashley and Vee's surrogacy is still on hold, while Christina prepares for labor by letting Jessica check her cervix on camera. Jessica then proudly claims she "held the baby first" because she felt the baby's head. That's...certainly...something.

1000 Lb Sisters S3:E12 - Never Say Never

It's the Season 3 finale of 1000-lb Sisters, and TLC apparently decided subtlety was overrated. This episode is edited like they're about to air Tammy's obituary, complete with ominous music, painfully long reaction shots, and enough foreshadowing to make a horror movie jealous.

We cover Amy ignoring medical advice because she wants another baby, Chris becoming the undisputed MVP of the family, Dr. Smith literally making a house call because Tammy refused to come to him, and Tammy finally admitting she needs help... after a life-changing realization while on the toilet.

An ICU stay that had TLC rubbing their hands together, and a finale that screams, "Tune in next season to see if she's alive!"

Thankfully, Tammy had other plans. And thankfully, we made it through this emotional manipulation so you don't have to suffer alone.

This week, we're recapping Extreme Sisters Season 2, Episode 8... but if we're being honest, the show didn't give us a whole lot to work with. 😅 So after covering Anna and Lucy's surprising career decision, Jessica's pregnancy news, and Jordan's absolutely unhinged honeymoon proposal, we spend a good chunk of the episode doing what siblings do best—getting completely sidetracked.

Anna and Lucy survive tooth extractions only to admit they were milking the recovery for spa treatments, Jessica tries to speedrun a pregnancy with the world's most awkward fertility charcuterie board, Randi and Jordan argue over who's actually planning the wedding, and Ashley is blindsided by the staggering cost of surrogacy—leading to the most heartbreaking fight of the season... and one very unfortunate wine glass.

Amy gets the exciting news that her offer on a dream home has been accepted, but celebrating is hard when Tammy is busy picking fights, dodging responsibility, and embracing a new lifestyle fueled by alcohol, vaping, and pizza rolls. As the family worries Tammy is slipping further from her weight-loss goals, Amy hopes moving out will finally push her sister toward independence... before another rock bottom finds her first.

What should be a fun getaway quickly turns when Tammy has a complete meltdown upon arrival, refusing to enter the cabin after a 12 hour drive. The vacation is already hanging by a thread—and next week delivers one of the most legendary Slaton family blowups of all time.

But in true Slaton fashion, the emotional meltdowns are balanced out with butt massagers, fart jokes, and a county fair meet-and-greet complete with trivia, pieing Michael in the face, and over 200 fans showing up to celebrate the sisters.

And then there’s Tammy versus movement itself. From refusing to use an electric wheelchair correctly to nearly rage-quitting after water aerobics, Tisa finally reaches her breaking point pushing Tammy around while Tammy insists everyone else is the problem.

This week, things get deeply emotional and deeply unhinged. Ashley and Vee head to the tattoo shop for a very intimate piercing appointment that somehow turns into conversations about orgasms, code words, and future babies. But the mood shifts hard when Ashley opens up about losing her uterus after fibroid surgery — and Vee shocks the family by offering to carry Ashley’s future daughter herself. The problem? Demetrius already said no.

S1:E8 – Our Happily Ever After

“Happy” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Briana and Brittany celebrate baby Jax by finalizing their shared closet (with actual privacy for once) and casually debating whether their breastmilk tastes the same—because of course they are. Meanwhile, Brooke’s placenta dreams die in the backseat of a car, and she immediately pivots to telling Baylee she’s not allowed to…have her own life. Totally normal.

Anna and Lucy get their fairytale moment when Ben redeems his worst date ever with a triple-commitment picnic and matching rings—legally questionable, emotionally intense, and somehow still less chaotic than everything else.

Across town, Christina and Jessica speedrun a full relationship breakdown: psychic visions, co-dependency accusations, and the bold claim that choosing your boyfriend is “picking penis.” Subtlety is dead.

And just when you think things can’t escalate, Patrix disappears for two days and comes back engaged to a man in Texas—because nothing says stability like a surprise fiancé and a backup plan to move everyone to Orlando anyway.

1000 Lb Sisters S3:E3 "Tammy's New Squeeze"

This episode is basically a slow-motion family meltdown served with tiny sandwiches and oxygen tubing. Tammy gets a new nurse, Tisa, who quickly discovers that motivating Tammy to move even slightly is like trying to push a boulder uphill while the boulder insults you. Amy spends the entire episode desperately trying to get literally anyone to hold Tammy accountable, while Tammy treats every suggestion like a personal attack from the FBI.

In between arguments, the family somehow ends up at high tea despite clearly being a “sweet tea in a plastic cup” kind of group. Amy declares the tea tastes like “old man balls,” Tammy gets mad over dessert placement, and a flying bug nearly takes somebody out mid-conversation. Absolute elegance.

Things really spiral once Tammy’s new boyfriend becomes the topic of discussion and the family starts connecting dots they definitely do not like. By the end, everyone’s frustrated, nobody feels heard, and Chris looks about three seconds away from flipping a table.

An absolute trainwreck, but the kind where you can’t stop staring.

S1:E7 – Can’t Live Without You

This episode asks, “What if boundaries didn’t exist?” and then answers it loudly. Briana’s on bedrest spiraling about preterm labor while the sisters double down on their shared-life pact—including, yes, ghost cohabitation if one of them dies. Brooke goes into labor, Baylee nearly scrubs in as both doula and…personal groomer, and is personally offended she didn’t get subbed into the delivery room like it’s a team sport.

Anna and Lucy spiral when Ben misses a date (and matches neither their energy nor their cappuccinos), immediately jumping to “we’ve lost him forever” while refusing to change literally anything. Meanwhile, Christina finally drops the “I’m psychic” bomb on John, who reacts with a shocking amount of calm—only for things to immediately pivot into territorial sister tension anyway.

Oh, and Patricia is out here gently telling Patrix to go live her life, which might be the only sane advice given all episode.

1000 Lb Sisters S3:E2 - Goodbye Freedom

“Freedom” apparently means “everyone doing whatever Tammy wants,” and yeah…that’s not going great. Tammy’s fresh out of rehab and immediately back on her greatest hits: blaming Amy, cussing out customer service, and acting like basic responsibility is a personal attack. Amy, meanwhile, finally hits her limit—choosing her kid over full-time Tammy duty and daring to suggest (gasp) professional help.

Chris is out here fighting for his surgery with CrossFit and scale math gymnastics, while the rest of the family braces for impact as Amy drops the “you’re getting a nurse” bomb in front of witnesses like it’s a courtroom reveal. Tammy, of course, hears “support” and translates it to “betrayal,” then decides the nurse will basically be her personal assistant for movies, nails, and vibes. Growth!

The nurse interviews are a disaster, the passive-aggression is Olympic-level, and somehow the biggest red flag isn’t the fighting—it’s Tammy casually dating another long-distance guy who may or may not be a feeder.

Progress is technically happening… it’s just buried under denial, attitude, and 32 missing meals.

S1:E6 – It’s Time to Let Go

This week, “letting go” means boundaries, privacy, and—apparently—basic logic all take a hit. Briana and Brittany attempt to design a shared mega-closet where modesty is optional but somehow still a concern. Brooke’s preparing for birth with a jarred placenta centerpiece and a sister who’s one Google search away from taking over as head doula. Meanwhile, Anna and Lucy pitch synchronized motherhood like it’s an Olympic sport, and their family gently (and then not so gently) suggests reality might disagree.

Oh—and Jess and Christina bond over grief, pheromones, and psychic secrets, because nothing says healing like ashes, tarot cards, and a boyfriend who has no idea what he signed up for.

1000 Lb Sisters S3:E1- "Welcome to Rehab"

Tammy heads to rehab claiming she’s ready to change, immediately starts planning her post-rehab burger schedule, and somehow returns home with attitude fully intact. Amy briefly tastes freedom before being dragged back into unpaid caretaker duty, while Chris battles a medically traumatic thigh crater and everyone wonders why they keep volunteering for this circus. By episode’s end, Tammy is calling people stupid, Amy is done pretending, and rehab might’ve only treated the weight—not the personality.
