Mike tells a story about seeing Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes this weekend, but he’ll save his review for next week. Taylor and Mike discuss a theatre closing in Brockville and the Netflix current subscription plans. This week, Mike reviews Challengers and Taylor reviews Unfrosted.

New movies are back to their full domination this week on Screening in Kingston as Taylor reviews I Want You Back (Amazon Prime) and Mike reviews Everything Everywhere All at Once (now in theatres).

This week on Screening in Kingston we’re talking all about The Batman! We review The Batman (2022) and get excited for some more new movies after we finally put 2021 to bed.

It’s time to recap the 2022 Oscars in all its glory. We’ll talk about the winners and recap all the hard hitting action. We’ll also announce the winner of our 2022 Oscars Pool.

Taylor reviews CODA and Mike reviews King Richard as we get set for the final week before the 2022 Oscars. We’ll preview the Academy Awards and answer a bunch of fan questions we haven’ had time to get to over the past few weeks.

We finally review Death On The Nile, both the book and the 2022 movie! We welcome back Kaite and together our team discussing the book, the movie, compares the two and we hear a bit from our fans as we wrap up our first book to movie club!

This week in Kingston the Kingston Canadian Film Festival kicks off and we’re chatting with Janet Wells, director of Sleeping Warrior as well as Stene Wells who also worked on the film. We also caught up with Jason Anderson, Director of Programming about the general festival which runs March 3-13. We continue our reviews of Oscar films and remind you to read and see Death on a Nile for our movie club!

We’re in that time of year when Mike and Taylor will start looking at all the Oscar Nominated films as we start the countdown to the Academy Awards. This week, one of our hosts was successful…the other one was not. Movies we review this week include: Belfast, Nightmare Alley and Munich: The Edge of War.

This week Mike reviews Madame Web and discusses all the various negative reviews around the “film”. Taylor reviews a new documentary Lover, Stalker, Killer and Mike shares another fun movie going experience.

Our team is hard at work trying to guess what types of movies from 2021 will get an Oscar nod this year. As we stick to streaming, Taylor reviews The Lost Daughter (Netflix) and Mike reviews My Son (Amazon Prime) and that means we have a lost child kind of theme this week…

This week it’s all about the random films we found on streaming platforms! Taylor and Mike review some films, you may not have heard of, Mainstream and How It Ends (2021). Mike has had a chance to sit down and talk with the cast and creative team behind “Stupid For You” the film that opens Reelout 22!!!! The Reelout Queer Film Festival runs from January 26 until February 7, available online so you can stream safely from home.

In the last Screening in Kingston of 2021 it’s time for Mike and Taylor to let you know what they thought were the BEST movies of 2021 and a short list of the worst from Mike because Taylor Taylored again.

With only a few days before Christmas, Screening in Kingston comes ready with movie suggestions for over the holidays, this time from the 90s! Taylor and Mike review some favourites from their childhood and give you other suggestions to get you into the mood for the holidays.

After being off a week for a very weird tech issue, Taylor and Mike review the films they were going to talk about. Mike reviews Spencer and Taylor reviews The Power of the Dog as Screening in Kingston starts it’s Oscar countdown.

In the final episode of Fan Appreciation month Taylor and Mike select movies from their childhood for the other to watch. Mike reviews The Secret Garden (1993) and Taylor reviews Hook (1991).

At the request of our fans, Taylor reviews Eternals, the latest film in the MCU and Mike sees the much anticipated Clifford The Big Red Dog. Week 2 of voting also opens as our fans get to select what TV themed topics we tackle next week. Spoiler warning to Enternals for the final 15 minutes of the episode.

Taylor grills Mike on his (now past) Valentine’s plan to see Madame Webb. Taylor reviews Lisa Frankensitein and Mike reviews a bunch of movie trailers released around the Super Bowl.

This week Taylor reviews the latest film from Wes Anderson, The French Dispatch! (The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun) It’s also the kick off of fan appreciation month, Mike reveals how this all works and opens voting for Week 1.

Mike and Taylor discuss Ryan Gosling and casting news around the Barbie Movie….for most of the show. Eventually, Taylor reviews The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard and MIke reviews Dune (2021).

Screening in Kingston’s Halloween special has it all, possession films, Jason Voorhees, exorcism, blumhouse movies, Matt Salton, random Dune references, fan questions and more Halloween suggestions than you’ll know what to do with.

It’s time to review some new movies! Mike and Taylor catch up on some new releases throughout October and get you set for our annual Screening in Kingston Halloween Special! Movie reviews include Worth (Netflix), The Guilty (Netflix), No Time To Die (007, in theatres), The Eyes of Tammy Faye (in theatres).

Titane, the much talked about film, will finally be discussed! Mike and Taylor give their thoughts and we welcome back Nicole, our TIFF correspondent, for more thoughts on the film. No spoilers! We feel this is a film you have to go into without much to begin with, so this will be a no spoiler talk as best we can. Titane comes from director Julia Ducournau and is now playing at The Screening Room.

In a look back at an episode only done for the web, Mike and Tyler talk Star Trek again! Taylor will be back next week, in the meantime enjoy another nerdfest as Mike and guest Tyler Vance talk more Star Trek because that’s what we like to do when Taylor isn’t around.

Mike reviews Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the latest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Taylor reviews Respect, a film following the rise of Aretha Franklin’s career.

It’s the first podcast of the fall and we’re taking a look at films coming out throughout the fall leading up to Halloween and the Oscars season. Mike reviews Stillwater and Taylor reviews Candyman, the 2021 remake.

This week Mike and Taylor finally get to Napoleon, a movie with a lot of buzz, followed by no buzz and finally being mainly forgotten during awards season.

Mike reviews the musical/movie In The Heights from Hamilton’s creator Lin Manuel Miranda and Taylor turns back the clock to review Love Witch. Speaking of turning back the clock, Nick Cage and The Green Knight are brought up again!

After a busy week, Mike and Taylor sit down to review some new(ish) movies! Taylor talks about The Truffle Hunters, not to be confused with Pig, and Mike reviews the Disney film Jungle Cruise based on the Disney ride…because they do that now.

Finally. We’re back. Screening in Kingston goes back to the movies this week and finally sees some new films, in an actual movie theatre. Taylor reviews Zola and Mike reviews A Quiet Place Part 2. Mike talks about the comparison of A Quiet Place to A Quiet Place Part II and Taylor also has some thoughts on the next Fear Street films from Netflix.

It’s time for another Star Trek episode! Mike welcomes back Tyler to the show to discuss Star Trek: The Original Series and some of their favorite episodes from all 3 seasons.

It’s time for a streaming catch up! Our team discusses some films they’ve watched on streaming platforms this week, many new releases, and are excited by the announcement of movie theatres reopening in Ontario in a few weeks. Taylor reviews Fear Street Part One: 1994, and Mike gives short reviews for Fatherhood, Above Suspicion and Army of the Dead

This week Katie returns to the show for our next Book Movie Club. We review Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the new Netflix series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and compare it back to the source material, the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel.

Taylor and Mike pick up their chat about The Conjuring Universe and finally review The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. They rank the films with the other Conjuring films and get into some fan questions about how films handle certain types of content.

Joining Mike and Taylor this week are directors/filmmakers Kemi King & Lisbet MacLean from The Intangible Queer, a film in Reelout’s Summer Showcase of Queer films! Matt Salton, director of Reelout Arts Inc. also stops in to chat about the showcase, how it came together, and how you can stream the films this summer from anywhere in the world.

Mike opens the show explaining his Monday rut and all the tech issues the day started with. Taylor and Mike discuss The Conjuring Cinematic Universe and dive into their expectations for the series of films, where things could go from here and an update on The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
