Two of the coolest stories I ever got to write as a journalist were profiles of the outlaw country singer, and fellow Tyler, TX native, Paul Cauthen. The first one was for Cowboys & Indians Magazine and the second was for Texas Monthly.

Paul was in Chattanooga this past weekend and I went to his concert, which was amazing as always. That prompted me to go down memory lane to talk about my journalism career, these stories with Paul, and the importance of not putting too much value in one accomplishment.

Today we talk about perhaps the most important job of my life: the one where I met my wife. My college job as a houseboy (aka dishwasher) at the Pi Phi sorority house at the University of Oklahoma was full of fun, hijinks, and unlimited free meals. I just got back from a weekend featuring at Louisville Comedy Club which was incredibly fun. The crowds were amazing and the state provided me with plenty of material for jokes. Last week I headlined Mic Drop Plano, back in Dallas-Fort Worth where I started comedy and lived for 12 years. It was such a fun experience so in this episode I talk about all that went into making the night so fun. And I also talk about my appearance on 105.3 The Fan and a cool experience my son and I had at the Braves vs. Rangers game.

My friends and I started an indoor soccer team when were were in our early 20s. It became so much more than just a soccer team. The Billy Ray Jeters was basically the most detailed, confusing, and intricate inside joke ever.

Eventually I made a documentary about the BRJs that we debuted at The Texas Theatre in Dallas.

This is part one in a recurring series that I'll be doing about all of the jobs I've had in my career. Some are interesting, like today's, and others are absolutely wheels off.

For this story we dive into my first job as a sports clerk for the Tyler Morning Telegraph newspaper. I got to experience life as a real newspaper sports reporter, and, eventually, I covered Patrick Mahomes in the Little League State Championship.

This past weekend I checked an item off my bucket list...way before I ever expected to be able to do so. I performed at the world-famous Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. I opened for Chris D'Elia in front of a packed house at The Mother Church of Country Music. It was an incredible experience and one I'll remember and cherish forever.

A few weeks ago my wife completed the iconic Big Sur Marathon, one of the most beautiful (and most challenging) marathons in the world. It was her first ever marathon and she put in an incredible amount of work to train for it.

Last week I got to check a major item off the comedy bucket list by making my debut at the Hollywood Laugh Factory. It was a nerve-wracking, confusing, but, ultimately, amazing experience.

I also opened for Dusty Slay in Dallas at The Majestic Theater. Many of my family and friends showed up, which made it extra special.

We have officially lived in Tennessee for a full year now. Last year we moved from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to Chattanooga so for this episode I recap why we decided to make the big move and what the first year of our life here has been like. In 2020 I made the Oklahoma NextGen Under 30 list. Well, actually, *I* didn't make it. But, someone I know very well did. Someone who is highly accomplished. Someone who is groundbreaking in his field. And, someone who is...completely made up.
