Legally blind from a young age, David D’Arcangelo, is a passionate leader and advocate for people with disabilities and underserved populations.  He has built successful and meaningful careers in both the public and private sectors.


David’s distinguished career includes serving as a Council Member of the National Council on Disability (NCD), Commissioner of the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB,) Director of the Massachusetts Office on Disability (MOD,) and being elected three times as City Councilor At-Large.  David is currently the President of Arc Angel Communications a Limited Liability Corporation that is a Certified Disability Owned Business Enterprise.  


As a Presidential appointee, David served NCD, which is an independent federal agency that plays a leading role in crafting disability policy, and advising the President, Congress, and other federal agencies on disability policies, programs, and practices.  As a Gubernatorial appointee, David served MCB & MOD and led both agencies through extensive modernization and innovations that produced positive results for people with disabilities.

Rachel Antoine is the Senior Director of International Programs at the Braille Institute, where she leads the global expansion of programs and services to reach communities in need. With a background in political science, she began her public service career in Massachusetts state government. It was her role at the MA Commission for the Blind that first introduced her to the blindness field and ignited her passion for this work.

An active volunteer in Los Angeles, Rachel has dedicated her time to various community initiatives. She's also served on multiple advisory committees and was recognized as a 2021 APH honoree. Bob is the founder and CEO of Ludke Consulting, a boutique practice based on the belief that we are witnessing a once-in-a-lifetime transformation of our society – for the better.   • Transformative Markets. This is a book about the role of markets in fostering a more sustainable society (published in April 2020 through the Creator Institute of Georgetown University).

 

Bob is also the creator of the Voices of Nature podcast in partnership with Global Conservation Corps. The podcast interviews people on the front lines of protecting nature all over the world to provide listeners with tangible actions they can take to help nature in their community.

 Bob began his career in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, advising on tax, budget, and economic policy issues, developing legislation, and creating message and communications strategies as part of the Senate Democratic leadership team.

 Following his time on Capitol Hill, Bob was a lecturer at the United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya. He created and taught courses in that position, including U.S. History, the U.S. Congress, and American Foreign Policy. Bob also presented at the National Defense College, Kenya, and participated in workshops with the Parliament of Kenya.

Gwyn LaRee is a Desert Storm era Marine Corps Veteran with multiple disabilities from her time in service. 

A professional actor since 2012, Gwyn can be seen on such shows as The Flight Attendant, Never Have I Ever …, Bosch: Legacy and many more. She is also a proud member of the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge’s Sony Disability Loop Group and a volunteer instructor with Autism Empowerment’s Neurodiversity Creators Collective.

Gwyn runs a small alpaca rescue/retirement home in SW Washington with her family when she is not performing or teaching. This keeps her firmly tied to her blue-collar roots and enables her to bring “country” characters to life with realism and understanding.

A "closet" writer for most of her life, Gwyn has begun to share her stories and experiences with her work with the "Returning Soldiers Speak" program.  A book of her poetry, Kyrie’s Song is expected to be published later this year.

Gwyn is always on the lookout for new Veteran connections, new stories to tell and new ways to integrate the Disabled, Veteran and civilian communities.

Mike Hess, a tech industry veteran with over 20 years of experience managing multi-million-dollar projects for Fortune 500 companies, noticed a troubling trend – he was often the only blind professional in the room. Recognizing the untapped potential of the blind and visually impaired (BVI) community, he founded Blind Institute of Technology (BIT) to challenge stereotypes, break down employment barriers, and promote equity for disabled professionals in corporate America.

Under Mike's leadership, BIT has secured major corporate and federal grants, including an $8M Disability Innovation Fund grant, significantly expanding workforce accessibility programs for professionals with disabilities. Through strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies and other organizations, BIT has successfully placed hundreds of BVI and disabled professionals into high-impact careers worldwide.

To further address the growing demand for marketable tech skills among people with disabilities, Mike launched the BIT Academy. In partnership with Salesforce, the Academy provides specialized training in Salesforce Administration, Digital Accessibility Analysis, and other in-demand fields, empowering professionals with disabilities to compete and thrive in today's workforce. BIT is the only Salesforce-approved training provider for people with disabilities, solidifying its role as a leader in workforce development and disability inclusion.

Cami oversees the Supplier Inclusion program, ensuring engagement, and value add to Corporate Partners and Certified DOBEs. She is responsible for developing and leading Disability:IN’s global supply chain and supplier inclusion strategy and programming. Executing all engagement, inclusion, communication, change management, and learning initiatives to deliver positive impact and outcomes for key stakeholders as it relates to supply chain-related programming.

Over the course of her time with Disability:IN’s Supplier Inclusion Program, she has worked closely with suppliers to foster and build their success as certified Disability- Owned Business Enterprises. She works to promote the importance of certification and the value that it provides through relationships, business development and further education, as well as support corporate partners in their internal mission around supplier inclusion.

Cami attended Florida State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology.

She has two teenage boys and spends most of her free time at the gym, attending concerts and chasing after her dogs!

Dr. Andrew Karhan, a project director at San Diego State University’s Interwork Institute (SDSU), is a seasoned professional with nearly 30 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation, workforce development, mental health, developmental disabilities, and transition.⁠

⁠His leadership is evident in his current roles as the Project Director of the Center for Advancing Policy on Employment for Youth and the New York Equitable Transition Model Demonstration grants, funded by the U.S. Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) for SDSU and various other state projects. He has successfully administered employment services programs for individuals with disabilities in both Pennsylvania and New York, and provided technical assistance on the implementation of best practices in employment, youth, and transition services across the U.S. His extensive experience and expertise were crucial in the development and implementation of the New York Employment Services System (NYESS), the administration of the State’s Administrative Employment Network under the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work program, the oversight and implementation of New York State’s Promoting the Readiness of Minors in Supplemental Security Income (PROMISE) project, and the development of a state-wide work incentives navigator system. ⁠
