More entertainment has returned to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, and we were there for the first return performance of Mickey's Magical Friendship Fair, an updated version of Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire including a new opening number for Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary. The show takes place multiple times a day on the Cinderella Castle Stage. Staring the Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy the show celebrates classic and contemporary Disney Characters in a magical, musical extravaganza featuring lively dancing, dazzling effects, and music from Tiana and friends from Princess and the Frog, Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled along with Anna, Elsa, and Olaf from Frozen.

Can't Miss Disney, the New Disney Must Do

If you are like me, one of the first things you do when you get to your room at the Walt Disney World Resort is looking for the "Must Do Disney" channel, or in the updates room, the Can't-Miss Disney Channel. This is what you would have seen in your room if you had visited during the 50th Anniversary Celebration. This video was captured in March 2022.

Extraordinary things are happening at the Walt Disney World Resort, a celebration 50 years in the making. It's the World's Most Magical Celebration, The Beacons of Magic, New Attractions, New Experiences, and new Nighttime spectaculars. Our tour includes Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, two amazing Water Parks, and Disney Springs. We hear from some influencers with experience and some of Disney's legendary cast members during our trip, with inside tips.

Everything on the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is connected. Every detail has a back story, and every experience is more than what it appears on the surface. To me, that is the beauty of the experience. The beauty of a two-day adventure on the Halcyon is experiencing the unexpected. It is your You're Story. During your two-day adventure, you choose how deep you want to get into the storyline, into the back story, or not. Lightsaber Training, for example, looks pretty cool on the surface, and it is. But take a closer look. Look at how all of this fits into the Star Wars timeline. When you first board the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, you have the opportunity to meet the crew. One crew member will be part of "The Saja," a group of many conducting lightsaber training onboard the Halcyon. Saja Katta was on board for my brief journey.

Here's the backstory of the Saja. If you remember, in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," the Empire, Director Krenic specifically, orders the destruction of the Jedi temple on Jedha, the first use of the Death Stars superweapon. The Jedi Temple had been under the protection of a group known as the Guardians of the Whills; remember Baze Malbus and Chirrut Imwe? They are Guardians of the Whills. At least they were before the Empire mined Jedha of its Kyber crystals to create the superweapon that ultimately destroyed it. After the Empire destroyed Jedha, The Guardians of the Whills survivors were scattered throughout the galaxy. The Guardians remained dedicated to preserving their knowledge of the Force. Descendants of this group became known as "The Saja." Captain Riyola Keevan provided a safe haven aboard the Halcyon StarCruiser for the Saja, allowing them to use one of its training pods to teach the ancient art of the lightsaber. Though not Jedi themselves, the Saja can sense the Force in others and teach them how to find their connection to this mystical power.

With that knowledge, you can conduct a deeper conversation with The Saja aboard your cruise or not. That's the beauty of the Galactic Starcruiser. Your discussion with The Saja may even lead you to discover that they are looking for some accent Jedi Relics, relics that had rumored to be on Batuu. Would you be willing to help them find those relics? It's up to you to live your Star Wars story. You can choose to dig deeper into the back story or not.

During your two-day adventure on the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser you are sure to have questions, questions about the ship, it does have a 275-year history, questions about your voyage, or questions about other crew members aboard. D3-O9 is your personal in-cabin assistance droid, always at the ready to help you with any question.

D3-O9 is a talkative droid guest may see on vidscreens. Her primary responsibility is running ship logistics, so she knows everyone and everything happening on board during a voyage. But her favorite part of the job is talking with passengers. Commissioned centuries ago, by Chandrila Star Line's founder, D3 has seen the ship's history – and the entire galaxy – evolve, and she's not shy about sharing her knowledge and opinions with passengers.

In real life, D3-O9 is an extension of the "Living Character Initiative" part of Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development, an idea, and a concept that will be leveraged to extend storytelling all around Walt Disney World and Disney Parks. For my brief experience aboard the Halcyon, D3 was still in "playtesting". During the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Media event, members of various News and Blog outlets were invited to a reception and media panel for the launch of the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. The panel took place the day before the 4-hour media preview, and two days before youtube was full of bloggers with opinions of the experience. This is the FULL audio from that opening panel, video recording wasn't allowed, but I did get permission to release this audio, along with images from the panel and some b-roll. This is the only place you will find unedited material from that conversation, so you can draw your own conclusion.

The Muppets: A Celebration of 30 Years. The CBS Special Presentation featured Jim Henson's Muppets, recounting the History of… The Muppets. Originally Aired January 21, 1986, the special is a celebration of all things Muppets featuring Muppets from The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Sam and Friends, and Fraggle Rock. The Muppets are hosting a banquet to celebrate the 30th anniversary and present a retrospective of Muppet film and television appearances. The show starts with a montage of Muppet clips celebrating the first 30 years of Muppets (1955-1985). From Sam and Friends in 1957, the Jimmy Dean Show in 1963, Ed Sullivan Show in 1968, Cher Show 1975, and The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson 1979, the early years are all covered. Fozzie reminds us that it was Kermit that began their careers, complete with a clip of Kermit getting the Muppets their first big break in The Muppet Movie. Hosted at the Theater of the Stars at Walt Disney world Hollywood studios, the show premiered November 22, 1991 – the same day the Animated film premiered in theaters. The Mariachi Cobre has been entertaining guests traveling around Epcot's World Showcase since opening day making them one of the best-known Mariachi bands in the world. The internationally-acclaimed performers share that opening day distinction with only the Voices of Liberty. The Mariachi Cobre started in 1971, a full 10 years before Epcot Opening Day. It was formed by Randy Carrillo with the support of his younger brother Steve, his friend Mack Ruiz, and musical arranger, Frank Grijalva. Mariachi played in Anaheim at Disneyland for a Cinco De Mayo event not long after they became an opening day addition to Epcot where they have been playing ever since. The group has worked with such renowned artists as Linda Ronstadt, Julio Iglesias, Vicki Carr, Lucha Villa, Lola Beltran, Ana Gabriel, Guadalupe Pineda, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Rocio Banquells, and Beatriz Adriana. What do The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and Muppet Babies all have in common? Jim Henson, of course! And before his passing, "A Muppet Family Christmas" united all of the muppets across franchises into a single Muppet Christmas special. This HD Version includes just about all of the original broadcast. Since 1997, Disneyland has featured "It's a small world Holiday" during the holiday season. The attraction is the same boat voyage through many regions of the world, though the main theme song is not played fully. Instead, the children sing "Jingle Bells" and a bridge of "Deck the Halls" in addition to the main theme. It's a Small World Holiday is a wonderful addition and fan favorite.

During the holidays, the Dapper Dans take on a whole new level of entertainment and charm. There is something magical about Disneyland itself during the holidays. Disneyland Town Square is in the center of that charm. A horse-drawn trolley approaching via Main Street USA, the lighting of the Christmas tree, or maybe knowing that you're standing in the shadow of Walt's apartment just above the Disneyland Fire Station.
