Today, I sit down with Colin, a solo sailor on the West coast of the US that has just finished the first leg of what could turn out to be an epic adventure. He just put down anchor in San Fransisco after a week-long sail from Washington, solo and non-stop.

Today I put together a few clips from my last consulting trip on Lake Michigan. I didn't have the big microphones, so I apologize for the audio quality. The Captain and I sailed from Chicago, across the lake and north to South Haven and back, nearly 200 miles.  We had good, bad, and ugly weather. Big thanks to the Captain for having me aboard his lovely Catalina 309, what a great trip!

I figured I would do a little recording will in transit through the Intracoastal.  Sparrow is a blue water boat but every so often I have to get down into the Pilotage and navigation along the coast.  It was nice to see something new and somehow went off without a hitch.

Well I'm back, The trip didn't go as planned, although Sparrow did great, her Capt felt a little uneasy with the whole plan.  Not a big deal, the ocean will always be there waiting for me, but I need to make sure I am ready for it.

Just a quick one about the rescue of Ian off of his boat Puffin.  Ian has had a tough few weeks and things went from bad to worse over the last few days.  His situation is scary to think about as a solo sailor.  I am glad to report that he has safely been rescued.  

Just a quick one today, the weather is looking really bad off the coast, and I think I will wait this one out!
