Welcome to Rise Again with Rev. Gen. I am an ordained minister, a certified spiritual director, a licensed social worker, and like so many people across the planet, I am a survivor of domestic violence. My experience created a desire to bring broader awareness to this often taboo topic.
After escaping the abuse a decade ago, I went back to school to get the education that would support my passion for advocating for survivors. But this podcast is for everyone, whether or not you have personally experienced abuse. I will share my knowledge and my recent research, and we will discuss matters related to domestic violence and relationships, as well as resilience and growth after abuse.
Like the legendary Phoenix, I believe that survivors can rise from the ashes to new life. The embers in those ashes will burst into flames and illuminate our paths toward healing.
