Chad be involved in so many great projects, from the amazing Quest For Fire records, the three killer Comet Control albums, as part of the garage rock duo The Deadly Snakes, his solo material under the name Nordic Nomadic, and now, and one of the main topics of our discussion, his new record and second under the C.Ross moniker, Future Site Of C. (S2E96) – Bygone (Chris Corry)

You may know Chris Corry from the defunct but still killer Boston band Magic Circle. Now Chris is back with a new project, which is the topic of the latest episode of The Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E96), where we talk all things Bygone, his new band on Svart Records that just dropped their debut today. I grabbed the Bygone demo tape from 2022 and expected big things, but I did not expect a record that just landed in my top 20 for 2025 and that I gave a perfect score to in my review for Musipedia Of Metal. We talk about the band and the record and find a musical connection with Chris. Bands like Uriah Heep, BOC, UFO, and Kiss during The Elder period, come up (those bands are also what the new record sounds like…oh the guitars and synths just rule) and so much more. The new Bygone record should be the first thing you listen to today, then come back and listen to our really fun chat.

(S2E97) – Stone Nomads

Boy, does Ripple Music know how to pick'em, and on this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E97), we talk to another band that is the perfect example of this, as the killer heavy trio out of Houston, Texas, Stone Nomads, joins the show.  The band just released their third record, Empires of Stone, and it crushes. Jon and Jude talk to us about the new record, what it’s like having new drummer Ben in the band, playing live, and to Rich’s delight the conversation goes down a hardcore/punk rabbit hole. There are also some takes on Kyuss that may have people asking us questions, but you will have to listen to find out. (S2E96) – Aunt Cynthia’s Cabin

One of the things I love about doing this show is learning about the bands that we dig when we know nothing about them other than their music. On this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E96), we talk to a band who we have loved for a while, but really knew little about, and one with an air of mystery behind them, San Diego’s Aunt Cynthia’s Cabin. This interview came about because the trio are re-releasing their 2020 classic, Misty Woman, for the first time in a long time on vinyl, via the amazing Black Throne Productions and we want to get the word out. This chat was so much fun as we laughed, we learned stuff, and really got to know the minds behind the killer desert psych rock the trio brings.  Brennan, Anthony, and Jeremy were so cool to give us so much time to just hang out talking ACC and other stuff.  Go preorder Misty Woman, track down the new Miramar Sessions EP, and then come hang with us. 

(S2E95) – Elk Witch

It seems like a good chunk of bands we talk to are from Oregon, and for good reason, too. While not from Portland, the band on this episode of The Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E95), Elk Witch, is just as killer as their fellow Beaver State brethren, whose output thus far has been loved by the hosts of this show.  We had all three members of the trio on the show to discuss their career so far and what’s up next for the band, which we are very excited for. Phlecia and Josh Sullivan talk to us about all sorts of cool stuff about the band, the new record, playing live, Stephen King, cats, and so much more. We are so lucky here at R&T HHH Headquarters, as we have had the legend himself, Wino, on the show not once, but now twice, because on the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E92), we talk to both Wino and his better half, SharLee LuckyFree, who make up two thirds of the killer new band Ritual Arcana, who will be releasing their self-titled debut record via Heavy Psych Sounds on January 23, 2026 and whoa boy are you all in for a treat. We talk to Wino and SharLee about the new record, how the songs came to be, what it’s like playing in a band as a married couple, how they found their drummer, Oakley Munson, of Black Lips fame, the influence living in the Catskill Mountains has on the band, and so much more. On the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E91), we talk to the king and queen of Mile High Downer Rock, Steve and Alison from Denver band Burning Sister! The duo recently released their new record, Ghosts, their first as a two piece, and it is excellent. We discuss the new record, what it has been like transitioning from a trio, enjoying Denver in all of its glory, and both the bands Low and Steel Pole Bathtub get mentioned multiple times, much to Rich’s delight. On the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour, we have Kevin Schindel and Shane Shook from the Dayton, Ohio heavy rock dealers Rattlesnake Venom Trip join the show. The guys sat down with Rich to discuss their upcoming EP, Eclipse The Sun, and their 2022 full length, Dead Empire, that if you missed you need to go grab ASAP. We also talk about influences, origins, what’s next, and everything else about the band. When it was announced that the American band Temptress signed to Blues Funeral I reached out to bassist/vocalist Christian Wright to come on the show to discuss signing to one of the best labels in the heavy underground and what’s next for the band given this big news. Well, what’s next is a 2026 album of the year candidate in the form of album number two, Hear, that drops on January 23, 2026. Christian is back, and this time brought his bandmates Andi Cuba (drums/vocals) and Kelsey Wilson (Guitars/Vocals) for the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E88). November is starting off with a heavy and trippy blast, so on the latest episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S2E87) we talk with Sean and Anthony from New York heavy psych rippers, River Cult.  We talk to the guys about their new amazing record, High Anxiety, which dropped on Nov. 7th and will be for sure on the top of my list this month, as well as other topics like the Brooklyn psych scene, influences, how the band writes, Sean’s approach to lyrics, and Anthony and Rich nerd out on Long Island and NYC Hardcore. After speaking with Kaleb Riser of Toledo, Ohio’s Black Moon Cult on the latest episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S2E86), my faith that rock and roll is not dead and will continue on with the next generation has been restored. Kaleb came on the show to discuss BMC’s debut record, Ophidian Future (The Children of Yig), brought to us via Black Doomba Records. I was recently asked to list my five favorite active heavy underground bands. After a long internal debate, the band on the latest episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S2E85), София, Bulgaria’s Obsidian Sea, was featured prominently on that list. If you don’t know these guys you should, as their last record, 2022’s Pathos, brought to us from Ripple Music, was pretty much perfect. Ravine dropped their killer bomb of heavy, Chaos and Catastrophes, on the world via Ripple Music a couple of months ago and whoa boy does it crush. On the latest episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S2E77) we talk to the amazing L.A. band The Oil Barons! These oil boys dropped their latest epic, the aptly titled Grandiose, that landed nicely on the September Doom Charts at spot 18. The record is something to behold, and these guys are so fun to chat with about so many topics, with some of Rich’s favorite things like The Simpsons and Twin Peaks getting some air time.  We even had a surprise interview crasher who you may recognize from another popular heavy underground channel.  The Oil Barons are awesome and more people need to know all about the band, so please check out our chat, then go buy their album!

(S2E76) – Daytripper (Returns!)

On the latest episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S2E76), we have the heavy and mysterious desert Sages from Daytripper join the show, returning to discuss their new and Amazing EP, The Alchemist, which drops on Friday, October 24th.  This time we have four of the Sages, as the Pirate Sage and the newest member of the band, the Warrior Sage joins the show along with the Scribe Sage and Rogue Sage (hopefully the other new member, the Seer Sage, will join us for our next palaver).  The Sages tell us all about The Alchemist, the band’s journey across the barren wasteland to Maryland Doom Fest, opening up for Castle Rat, and so much more. On the latest episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S2E75) we talk to the stoner prog trio out of Montana, The Gray Goo! All three members of the band joined us to talk about the band and their latest record Cabin Fever Dreams, which is a wild and fun ride. Artists like Zappa, Mr. Bungle, and Primus come up in our discussion as well as this being the most prog episode of the show ever, with everyone from Rush, to King Crimson, to ELP getting a mention. Rich seems fascinated with Montana, so he asks a bunch of questions about where the band resides as well as the origin of all of their great artwork. For our 100th episode (S2E73), we have Emily Burton (guitar) and Angie Scarpa (drums) of the amazing Black Sabbitch!!! If you have not heard the band’s take on the Sabbath classics, then you are certainly in for a treat, especially given that finally, after 13 years as a band, their fans' requests have been answered in the form of a physical record, Unrest In The West, brought to us from Ripple Music, and dropping on November 7th, 2025. This live-in-a-studio-with-a-crowd record is the perfect example as to why the band has headlined major festivals, played for 80,000 people, and was once requested by the late Prince of Darkness himself to play at one of his shows. We talk about so many cool things, break some news about more upcoming Sabbitch stuff and about Emily’s other band, the legendary Fireball Ministry, share Paul Stanley stories, talk about Sabbath nerds (all of us), and so much more. On this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E71), We talk to Eric Tulip from the Albany, NY hard rock band Black Tongue Reverend!  Eric sat down with us to discuss the trio’s new record, Upstate Of Mind, which is outstanding. (S2E68) – Bask

On this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E68) we talk to Scott Middleton, drummer for the amazing band out of Asheville, NC, Bask! Bask just dropped their album of the year candidate, The Turning, a few weeks ago and it is just so great. Scott told us all about the record and so much more, including some shows coming up, a major award win, his and the band's influences, and so much more.  We had some minor technical glitches, but this was a great discussion about an awesome record from an amazing band.

On this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E67), we have Tommy Southard and Justin Daniels from the legendary Solace join the show! Solace just had their masterpiece and genre-defining album, Further, repressed and remastered for its 25th anniversary via Magnetic Eye Records and the guys came on the show to talk about that and so much more, including the new material the band is currently working on the the studio, some history of the band, what it was like recording Further back in 2000, how the guys get their singer to add more keys to their tracks, and Tommy and Rich vent on their NY Giants fandom. The Brink is the record that got me (Rich) back into heavy rock again, so it was fun to chat about that amazing record too. This interview was so much fun, so please enjoy it!!!

On this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E66), Nacho Maldonado from San Diego heavy rockers Mezzoa joins the show.  The new Mezzoa record rules…it’s called TON 618 and you can get all sorts of crazy vinyl variants of this ripper from Glory or Death Records. Nacho was so cool to give us all the time he did to talk about the new record, his career, being in the Lifers movie, his SoCal Heavy Jam Festival coming next month, and so much more. On this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E64), Paco and Will from the ultra-evil Canadian heavy psych doomsters Pale Horse Ritual join the show. The guys are on to discuss their upcoming new record, Diabolic Formation, dropping on November 28th, 2025, courtesy of Black Throne Productions, just in time to creepy out everyone south of the Canadian border on American Thanksgiving. We discuss Diabolic Formation in depth and how it got to sound as amazing as it does, as well as topics like Paco’s writing style and influences, how this version of the band came together, the name change, some equipment talk, and so much more. The record is a top 10 AOTY candidate, so do not miss this. Given that the record comes out tomorrow and given how killer it is, I wanted everyone to hear this interview right before the record drops, so…on this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E64), we talk to Texas trio Stone Machine Electric, who have their amazing new record, Faces, brought to us by Argonauta Records, dropping on Sept. 26th, 2025. This is their most straight-ahead (for them) rock record so far and takes their psych/stoner/doom/everything to new levels of cool. We even learn what a HC-TT is. Part one of the story, Songs To Sun, comes out on September 19th, 2025 via Season of Mist and whoa is it great. On this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E55), we chat with Chet Weise from MAANTA RAAY, who seemingly out of nowhere dropped their self-titled, amazing, heavy space psych ripper via No Sabes Records last month. Chet had one of the coolest backgrounds the show has seen so far, and spent almost an hour with us telling us some amazing stories about the band, the record, his life pre MAANTA RAAY (some of you may know Chet from The Immortal Lee County Killers) and so much more. (S2E54) – Insomniac

The episode is dedicated to the memory of Mike Morris

On this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E54), the boys talk to Amos Rifkin from the new Blues Funeral Recordings band Insomniac! Insomniac have their amazing debut record, Om Moksha Ritam, dropping on Sept. 5, 2025, and it is a heavy head trip journey that really sounds like nothing else out there. It is an album that you can just close your eyes and let the record take you over, but is still heavy as hell in its own way. The band lost a member just a few weeks ago, as founding guitarist Mike Morris passed away, but the band is soldiering on in his honor, as hard as that may be. Amos discusses all of the emotions that go along with this gigantic loss while putting out this record as well as a ton of other topics about the new record and the band, including the tour they are doing, opening for Kal-El. I really appreciate Amos spending the time with us during such a difficult and busy period for the band.  Please check it out.

(S2E53) – Patriarchs In Black

Fanboy alert! For this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour, Rich speaks with Patriarchs In Black!!! Both Dan Lorenzo (Hades/Non-Fiction/Cassius King) and Johnny Kelly (you know…) joined the show to talk about the new PiB record, Home, that dropped on August 15th. As with the other three records, this one has some more killer guest vocalists, including Karl Agell, Kyle Thomas, Mark Sunshine, and the return of DMC! The PiB records are always a fun ride, and this one is no exception. The buried lead here is that Rich got to talk to Johnny Kelly, from one of his top three favorite bands of all time (that would be Type O Negative) and he somehow managed to behave himself. Both guys were so cool and spent almost an hour talking about Home, what other projects they are up to, including Johnny’s new band with Kenny from Type O and Kirk and Todd from Crowbar that somehow Rich has the vinyl for before johnny does, Johnny’s time with Danzig, his current gig with Quiet Riot, Dan’s work with Jason McMaster in Cassius King, what’s up for the guys in the future, and so much more. Friday, August 22nd has a ton of killer new releases dropping, so we are loading up on the episodes! We listen to a ton of new music, but it is rare that an album stops me in my tracks and proceeds to blow me away. That is just what the debut record from Portland, Oregon’s HÖG did to me, so I knew I just had to have them on the show for the latest episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S2E52).  Daniel and Adam from the band joined the show to talk about their debut record, Blackhole, that drops on this very busy 22nd of August, via RidingEasy Records. We discuss the new record and how incredible it is with Rich going full on fanboy. We chatted about some other cool stuff too. Be prepared to be blown away by HÖG’s album of the year candidate.
