How to Land Remote Six Figure Jobs with Michele Lambert and Alex Booth 24 Aug 202600:57:37

What does it really take to land a six-figure remote job?

In this episode of Rich and Remote, Karla Singson Booth is joined by Michelle Lambert, founder of Bella Connections, and Alex Booth, founder of GetCSM, to break down what companies are actually looking for when hiring for six-figure remote roles.

Beyond years of experience and impressive credentials, the conversation explores what really makes a candidate stand out. Michelle and Alex share what they see on the hiring side, including why proven results, specialized skills, curiosity, culture fit, and the willingness to keep learning can matter more than simply having a long resume.

They also get honest about what can disqualify candidates, how to spot questionable job postings, why applicants should be evaluating companies just as much as companies evaluate them, and what candidates may not realize about the opportunities waiting for them once they get inside the right organization.

If you're looking for a six-figure remote job, thinking about making a career move, or wondering what hiring managers actually notice during an interview, this episode is packed with practical advice to help you stand out and find the right opportunity.

In this episode:

  • Why years of experience aren't always the best measure of expertise
  • The difference between having skills and knowing how to lead
  • How performance-based incentives can help employees reach six figures
  • Why curiosity and a willingness to grow can beat an impressive résumé
  • Why attitude can determine whether a company is willing to invest in you
  • Why you should research a company before accepting an offer
  • Why you're interviewing the company just as much as they're interviewing you
  • Why creative and customer-facing roles are becoming more valuable

How to Deal with Anxiety in Business 17 Aug 202600:20:00

Some stretches in business test everything you think you know about yourself, your team, and your ability to keep showing up. In this solo episode of Rich and Remote, Karla opens up about one of those stretches, including a client dispute she is still a little annoyed about and a moment of losing it that she does not usually talk about publicly.

This is not a "just push through it" episode. Karla breaks down what anxiety actually is, why almost every entrepreneur she knows hits this same wall, and the handful of practices that have kept her from letting it run her business or her life.

If you have ever felt like you are doing everything right and still bracing for the next thing to go wrong, this one will feel like a long exhale.

In this episode:
  • What anxiety actually is, and why it shows up harder for entrepreneurs
  • The self-soothing habits that quietly make things worse, and what Karla does instead
  • The sales habit that makes it so much easier to walk away from a bad-fit client
  • How Karla handled a client dispute she had every right to be upset about
  • Why staying in integrity in the moment matters more than getting every decision right
  • How to turn a team mistake into a system fix instead of a blame game
  • Why Karla treats her contracts and SOPs like a living, breathing thing

Building a Personal Brand that Commands Millions with Ruheene Jaura of Brandpod AI 02 Jun 202601:01:43

After years of building campaigns for brands like Marvel, Apple, Amazon, and Motorola, Ruheene Jaura realized something surprising:

In this episode:

  • Why most founders struggle with visibility
  • The storytelling frameworks billion-dollar brands use

How to Raise Entrepreneurial Kids 25 May 202600:32:38

Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, family, freedom, business, and childhood all collided into one deeply personal conversation on Rich and Remote.

In this episode, Karla reflects on the childhood experiences, parenting dynamics, and life lessons that quietly shaped her entrepreneurial mindset long before business was ever part of the conversation.

This is not parenting advice from a parenting expert. It is insight from the perspective of an entrepreneurial child looking back and recognizing what actually mattered.

The episode explores independence, responsibility, curiosity, trust, resilience, freedom, and why some environments naturally create entrepreneurial thinking while others unintentionally suppress it.

For founders building families alongside businesses, this conversation will probably hit closer to home than expected.

In this episode:

  • The childhood traits that often lead to entrepreneurship later in life
  • Why independence matters more than perfection
  • The role of trust, responsibility, and freedom in confidence-building
  • How entrepreneurial thinking develops early
  • Why some kids naturally become problem-solvers
  • The difference between obedience and ownership
  • Parenting lessons founders rarely talk about
  • How environment shapes ambition and self-belief
  • The connection between entrepreneurship and identity
  • Reflections on family, freedom, and intentional living

Scaling Agencies from 0 to $1M to Exit with John Doherty 18 May 202601:01:50

We just got back from volunteering at LIV Golf Mexico City and somehow turned exhaustion, golf, customer success, and referrals into one of the most practical business conversations we’ve had on Rich and Remote.

From burnout prevention to sustainable business growth, this episode dives into the relationship-first systems behind referrals that actually last.

There’s also a deeper look into customer journeys, onboarding, “time to first value,” and how strong relationships quietly compound into long-term growth.

For founders, agencies, SaaS companies, coaches, and remote teams, this episode is packed with practical insights on building referral systems that feel human instead of transactional.

In this episode:

5 Unconventional Sales Tactics that Got Us To $1M in One Year 04 May 202600:20:38

When we rebuilt the business, we made one thing non-negotiable.

We always had sales calls on the calendar.

No fancy funnels.
No ad spend.
Just real conversations, every week.

And somewhere between hundreds of calls, awkward silences, and saying no to the wrong clients… things started to click.

This episode breaks down the five sales habits that actually moved the needle.
Not the loud ones. Not the pushy ones.

The ones that feel almost too simple to work.

Like knowing when to stop talking.
Or being okay telling someone you’re not the right fit.
Or preparing so well that the call feels like you’re talking to a friend, not pitching a stranger.

This is how we closed clients early.
This is how we built momentum without ads.
And this is still how we sell today.

In this episode:

  • Why being “too eager” quietly kills deals
  • The power of silence and why most people ruin it
  • How preparation changes your entire energy on a call
  • The simplest way to handle objections without sounding defensive
  • Why honesty closes more deals than persuasion

Bali Remote Life – Is It Really the Dream? 27 Apr 202600:22:23

Bali gets talked about like it’s the ultimate remote work destination.

Cheap. Beautiful. Full of entrepreneurs.

But there’s a side to it that most people don’t think about until they’re already there.

In this episode of Rich and Remote, we break down the reality behind the hype.

Not just what makes Bali attractive…
But what actually makes it work or not work depending on who you are and how you earn.

This isn’t a “Bali is good” or “Bali is bad” conversation.

It’s a reality check.

In this episode, we talk about:

• Why Bali became the poster child for remote work
• The hidden trade-offs most people ignore before moving
• The real challenge of time zones and productivity
• Who actually thrives in Bali (and who struggles)
• Why chasing lifestyle too early can backfire
• What to think about before making the move

If Bali is on your list, or already on your mind, this will give you a clearer perspective before you commit.

More Cringe, More Money 13 Apr 202600:41:18

What if being a little more cringe is actually good for business?

In this solo episode of Rich and Remote with Alex and Karla Booth, Karla talks about why visibility matters more than polish, why being too “normal” online can make you invisible, and how bold self-expression can open doors in business.

If you’ve been holding back online because you don’t want to look awkward, annoying, or too much, this episode is your reminder that playing it safe might actually be costing you.

In this episode:

  • Why “cringe” can actually be a business advantage
  • The difference between being polished and being memorable
  • How personal branding turns attention into opportunity
  • What kind of visibility actually leads to sales
  • Why some entrepreneurs don’t have a monetization problem; they have an invisibility problem
  • How to stand out online without pretending to be someone you’re not

This one’s for the business owner, creator, or entrepreneur who knows they have something valuable to say but needs a little more courage to actually say it.

The Athlete’s Edge: Why Entrepreneurs Should Stay in the Game 10 Aug 202600:22:16

What if the skills that make you great at business are the same ones you learned playing sports?

In this solo episode of Rich and Remote, Alex Booth explores the surprising connection between sports and entrepreneurship, and why the lessons learned on the field, mountain, court, or trail can have a lasting impact on how you build a business.

Drawing from his own experience with competitive snowboarding, Alex shares how repeatedly failing, taking calculated risks, networking, and becoming completely committed to a goal shaped the way he approaches entrepreneurship.

He also looks at the growing connection between athletes and successful business leaders, from CEOs with competitive sports backgrounds to entrepreneurs who built businesses around the sports they loved.

The conversation goes beyond simply staying active. Alex breaks down three skills he believes sports can develop that directly transfer into entrepreneurship: resilience under repeated failure, comfort with calculated risk, and identity fusion.

If you're an entrepreneur, thinking about starting a business, or raising kids who you hope will become confident and resilient adults, this episode offers a different perspective on why sports might be one of the best training grounds for life and business.

In this episode:

  • The surprising connection between sports and entrepreneurship
  • Why competitive athletes often develop skills that transfer into business
  • How Alex's snowboarding career shaped his entrepreneurial mindset
  • Why repeated failure can be one of the most valuable things you experience
  • How sports teach you to take calculated risks
  • Why fully identifying with what you're building can be powerful
  • The connection between athletic backgrounds and successful CEOs
  • Why individual sports may develop particularly valuable entrepreneurial skills
  • How sports can help entrepreneurs stay healthy and manage stress
  • Why having an activity outside of work matters
  • How "sweat working" can create unexpected business opportunities
  • Why sports can be a powerful networking tool
  • How Canva's early funding was connected to kite surfing
  • Why parents should consider the long-term lessons their kids can gain from sports
  • Why it's never too late to find a sport that works for you

Whether you're already an entrepreneur or simply looking for a better way to build resilience, confidence, and meaningful connections, this episode might make you look at sports a little differently.

The Strange Reality of Entrepreneurship: When Friends and Family Go Quiet 23 Mar 202600:42:02

We didn’t expect this part of building a business.

You start something.
You’re excited.
You tell the people closest to you.

And then… it gets quiet.

In this episode of Rich and Remote, we talk about a side of entrepreneurship that rarely gets said out loud.

The lack of support.
The silence.
The shift in how people respond to you once you step outside the usual path.

This isn’t about blaming anyone.

It’s about understanding what’s really happening and how to keep going when the validation you thought you’d have… isn’t there.

In this conversation, we talk about:

  • Why support from friends and family feels different once you start a business
  • The subtle ways people pull back and why it happens
  • How this affects your mindset as a founder
  • Where real support actually comes from
  • What to focus on when no one is clapping for you

If you’ve ever felt like you’re building something on your own, this episode will hit closer than you expect.

What Actually Took Us to Seven Figures in a Year with No Ads 16 Mar 202600:27:08

I’ve been asked this question more times than I can count.

How did Proximity Outsourcing reach seven figures without running ads?

In this episode of Rich and Remote, I finally break down the behind-the-scenes habits and decisions that made the biggest difference when I restarted the company from scratch.

When I relaunched the business, I had a rare opportunity. I could rebuild everything. The culture, the sales process, the marketing, and the kind of team I wanted to lead.

There were no paid ads driving growth.

Instead, it came down to a handful of simple principles that compound when you practice them consistently. Some of them are tactical. Some of them are about leadership. And some of them completely changed how I think about building a company.

In this conversation, I share the lessons that helped me grow faster than I expected and the mistakes that forced me to level up as a founder.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • Why visibility matters more than most founders realize
  • The type of proof that quietly closes deals
  • Why founders must stay close to sales conversations
  • The hidden power of retention and referrals
  • What makes people remember your company
  • The leadership shift required to scale beyond yourself

If you’re building an online business or managing a remote team, this episode will give you a rare look at what actually moves the needle behind the scenes.

How to Build a Viral Personal Brand Without Losing Yourself 09 Mar 202600:37:37

A lot of Founders don’t lose themselves in relationships or bad jobs.

They lose themselves in their brand.

The internet rewards exaggeration. Algorithms reward performance. Virality rewards being loud, contrarian, and constantly visible. And somewhere in the middle of trying to grow, many Founder slowly become a hollow character.

In this episode of Rich & Remote, I unpack a question I get asked often by people who follow my content and eventually meet me in real life:

How do you build a viral personal brand without losing your identity?

This conversation is about how to scale visibility while staying rooted in who you really are.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • The difference between performing online and expressing something true
  • How to deal with the dopamine loop that comes from likes, impressions, and validation
  • Why founders sometimes start becoming characters inside their own brand
  • How to use algorithms strategically without becoming a slave to trends
  • A story about my super viral Presidential campaign

After years of building a personal brand that drives millions of impressions and helped grow a seven-figure company without ads, I’ve learned that attention is powerful but it can also be dangerous if you’re not grounded.

The Lowdown on Entrepreneur Coliving with Cat Gong 17 Feb 202600:50:02

In this episode of Rich & Remote, Karla is joined by Cat Gong, a tech consultant turned community curator who is building something special in Cape Town, South Africa.

Cat shares how her own remote work journey led her from Hawaii to Europe and eventually to launching Tempo Coliving, a curated living experience designed for location independent entrepreneurs and professionals. What started as a pandemic shift toward remote freedom turned into a deeper realization about community, connection, and intentional living.

They talk about why Cape Town is quietly becoming one of the most compelling destinations for digital nomads. Mountains meet the ocean. Surf in the morning. Work in the afternoon. Sunset dinners at night. All within twenty minutes of each other.

But this conversation goes deeper than scenery.

Cat explains why coliving is not a hostel and not just shared rent. It is curated chemistry. It is living with people who are building, exploring, and choosing freedom in real time. It is about who you become when you step outside autopilot and into community.

They unpack:

• What makes coliving different from roommates or short term rentals
• How curated communities create unexpected relationships
• Why Cape Town offers both lifestyle and leverage
• The honest downsides of shared living and social burnout
• How intentional community accelerates growth

They also talk about spontaneity, shared dinners, sunrise hikes, no phone focus sessions, and the magic that happens when ambitious people live under one roof.

If you have ever wondered what it would feel like to work remotely in one of the most beautiful cities in the world while living alongside other founders, creatives, and operators, this episode gives you the full picture.

There is currently one final room available at Tempo Coliving in Cape Town.

Mindful Spending and the Quiet Power of Financial Control 06 Jan 202600:26:28

In this episode of Rich & Remote, Karla Singson shares a personal and honest reflection on money, self control, and the hidden link between spending habits and freedom. She opens up about how moving homes forced her to confront years of impulse buying, emotional spending, and the quiet stress that often follows financial success.

Karla walks through her shift toward mindful spending and how learning to pause before purchasing became a powerful tool for reclaiming control. What started as a practical experiment turned into a mindset shift that reduced anxiety, sharpened focus, and created space for what truly matters.

Throughout the episode, Karla connects money decisions to the larger Rich & Remote lifestyle. When spending becomes intentional, businesses feel lighter to run, personal choices become clearer, and freedom stops feeling like a moving target. This conversation reframes financial discipline not as deprivation, but as self respect and long term leverage.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • Why saying no to unnecessary spending builds confidence and clarity
  • How impulse buying creates hidden mental and emotional costs
  • The link between mindful spending and reduced stress
  • Why financial control leads to better decision making in business and life
  • How intentional money habits support time freedom and peace
  • Why real wealth is about choice, not consumption

Karla also shares real life examples of emotional spending, social media influence, and the internal dialogue many founders experience once they reach a certain income level. Her reflections offer a grounded reminder that freedom is not about how much you earn, but how consciously you choose.

If you are building a remote business and want your money to support your life instead of quietly controlling it, this episode will help you rethink your relationship with spending, success, and self trust.

Building Businesses Customers Never Want to Leave with Alex and Karla Booth 29 Dec 202501:20:10

In this episode of Rich & Remote, Karla Singson sits down with Alex Booth to talk about one of the most overlooked drivers of freedom in business: customer experience.

They explore why the businesses that feel easiest to run are often the ones that invest deeply in retention, loyalty, and genuine care for their customers. Instead of chasing constant growth, these companies focus on creating experiences that make people stay, refer, and advocate.

Alex shares real-world stories from his work in customer success, highlighting how small, intentional moments can create massive long-term impact. From simple gestures to well-designed systems, this conversation shows how customer experience becomes a leverage point for founders who want stability, predictability, and more control over their time.

Karla connects the dots between customer delight and the Rich & Remote lifestyle. When customers stay longer and trust you more, businesses become calmer to operate, teams become easier to manage, and founders gain the space to design their work and life with intention.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • Why customer experience is a growth strategy, not a nice-to-have
    • How retention creates freedom for founders and remote teams
    • The difference between transactional service and meaningful loyalty
    • Why memorable experiences reduce churn and increase referrals
    • How customer success systems support a rich and remote lifestyle
    • What founders get wrong about scaling before fixing retention

Alex also shares insights from helping fast-growing online businesses improve customer retention, lifetime value, and loyalty through better systems and clearer ownership. The conversation reframes customer success as a foundation for long-term independence, not just a support function.

If you want to build a business that feels lighter, more sustainable, and aligned with the life you want to live, this episode will shift how you think about customers and growth.

Growing Profitable Ecom Communities with Shin Takeda 22 Dec 202500:50:18

In this episode, Karla sits down with Shin Takeda, one of the smartest young operators in the ecommerce space and the community strategist behind several fast-growing creator and ecommerce brands.

Shin shares his journey from scrappy experimenter to becoming the go-to guy for building profitable, engaged online communities that don’t just gather people, they convert, retain, and create real brand loyalty. From his early missteps in dropshipping to managing multimillion-dollar launches, Shin breaks down what actually works when creating communities that feel alive, valuable, and worth paying for.

You’ll also hear how he navigated opportunities with some of the biggest names in the digital world, why ecommerce founders misunderstand “community,” and the simple frameworks he uses to drive engagement without burning himself or the audience out.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • Why most ecommerce “communities” fail before they even reach 100 members. Shin explains the common mistakes brands make when they treat communities like broadcast channels instead of ecosystems.
  • How to build a community that actually generates revenue. Not vague “engagement,” but actual product demand, recurring customers, and brand evangelists.
  • The surprising traits of effective community managers. Hint: it’s not hype, charisma, or being online 24/7, it’s operational understanding and emotional awareness.
  • The content formats that consistently spark participation. And how Shin uses them to grow retention rates, keep conversations meaningful, and create momentum.
  • What ecommerce brands can learn from fandom culture. Including why Gen Z responds to tribes, identity, and belonging more than coupons or discounts.
  • How Shin works with creators and operators behind the scenes. And the mindset that lets him juggle building communities, coaching founders, and scaling new ideas.

Karla and Shin also dive into real stories from Shin’s early days: the risks he took, the big breaks, the hard lessons, and the moment he realized community building wasn’t just a “nice to have,” but one of the most reliable profit centers in modern ecommerce.

If you’re running an ecommerce brand, building in the creator economy, or experimenting with paid groups, this episode will give you a clearer blueprint for building a community that thrives and pays for itself many times over.

Peaceful Sales: How to Make Selling Anything Online Easy for Everyone with Pete Scott 08 Dec 202500:40:42

In this episode, Karla sits down with Pete Scott, creator of the Peaceful Sales method, to talk about how selling online can feel calm, natural, and even enjoyable, whether you’re an introvert, an expert, or someone who hates “selling.”

Pete breaks down the psychology behind why people buy, why most coaches and creators overcomplicate the process, and how shifting your energy can transform your sales calls, your content, and the way clients respond to you. He shares the real reason people freeze up when it’s time to talk about their offer, and why emotional regulation, not scripts, is the secret ingredient behind effortless sales.

Karla and Pete dive into the biggest misconceptions about selling online, the hidden fears that stop people from making money, and the simple framework that helps you sell authentically without pressure or pushiness.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • Why sales feels scary for most people: How old stories, nervous system responses, and fear of rejection show up on calls and in your content.
  • The Peaceful Sales principle that makes closing feel easy instead of stressful: Why clients say “yes” when you’re grounded, calm, and connected instead of trying to impress.
  • How to stop sounding like every other coach or creator online: The subtle shift that helps you speak in your real voice and attract people who want exactly what you offer.
  • Why being overly prepared can backfire: How overthinking and over-scripting disconnect you from the person you're trying to help.
  • The one question that instantly uncovers what your client actually needs: And why listening deeply is more effective than trying to “pitch.”
  • How to sell high-ticket offers without feeling like a fraud: Pete breaks down the mindset, confidence, and emotional clarity required to sell transformational results.

Pete also shares powerful insights from his years of coaching sales professionals, including real examples of how small emotional shifts changed not just their business results but their confidence, presence, and relationships. His approach is simple, grounded, and refreshingly human, making sales feel accessible even for people who think they’re “not good at it.”

If you’ve ever felt anxious before a sales call or unsure how to talk about your offer online, this episode will give you the tools, clarity, and peace of mind to start selling with confidence.

I Loved My Job, Hated My Life with Alex and Karla Booth 01 Dec 202500:35:35

In this episode, Alex and Karla Booth open up about the side of success no one talks about: what it feels like to finally get the dream job, the dream income, the dream city, and still feel completely stuck.

Alex shares his journey from Microsoft to Amazon, where he had everything he thought he wanted (a great salary, a beautiful Seattle life, a prestigious role, and a clear path upward), but inside he felt trapped. He talks about the exact moment he realized he loved his job but hated his life, and why staying on that path would have cost him more than it gave.

Karla reflects on watching Alex’s inner shift happen in real time, why so many "high achievers" hit this invisible wall, and what it really takes to admit that something isn’t working, even when it looks perfect on paper. Together, they break down the emotional, psychological, and practical turning points that pushed them toward remote work, freedom, and a life designed intentionally.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • The illusion of the dream job.
  • How achievement, promotions, and prestige can mask deep dissatisfaction and loneliness.
  • Why so many people love their work but hate the life attached to it: The commute, the weather, the isolation, the burnout, and the cost of living that slowly wear you down.
  • The pivotal moment that made Alex walk away from corporate life: What happened on that bus ride home and why it changed everything.
  • How to recognize when it’s time to leave, even if everything looks "good enough": Signs your lifestyle is draining you even when your career is thriving.
  • Why freedom isn’t about quitting your job, but about choosing your life: The mindset shift that helped Alex and Karla rebuild their careers on their own terms.
  • The unexpected clarity that comes from stepping away from a path that no longer fits you: How Alex finally understood who he was outside of corporate identity and why that changed how he works today.

Alex and Karla also share intimate, raw moments from this season of transition (from burnout weekends to long commutes to feeling like life only existed on Saturdays). Their stories offer an honest look at what it’s like to outgrow a life you worked so hard to build, and why choosing yourself isn’t selfish but necessary.

If you’ve ever wondered what it really feels like to look successful on the outside while struggling internally, this episode will feel like a deep exhale.

Leadership in the Age of AI with David Chung 03 Aug 202600:42:23

Why do so many AI rollouts fail, even when everyone has access to the best tools?

In this episode of Rich and Remote, Alex and Karla Booth sit down with David Chung, Fractional Chief AI Officer and founder of Kyber5, to explore why AI adoption isn't really a technology problem, it's a leadership problem.

While many business owners have already introduced AI tools to their teams, few are seeing meaningful results. David explains why simply adding ChatGPT or Claude to your tech stack isn't enough, and why successful AI adoption starts with trust, communication, and a clear strategy from leadership.

The conversation dives into the biggest mistakes companies make when introducing AI, how to create a culture where employees feel safe using it, and why the businesses that thrive won't necessarily be the ones with the best tools but the ones with the most adaptable people.

If you're leading a team, running a business, or wondering how AI will reshape the future of work, this episode offers a practical framework for building an AI-enabled organization without losing the human side of your business.

In this episode:

  • Why AI adoption is a people problem before it's a technology problem
  • The biggest mistake leaders make when introducing AI to their teams
  • Why AI isn't a "genie" and what business owners should expect instead
  • How to onboard AI the same way you onboard a new employee
  • Why employees often hide their AI usage from leadership
  • The importance of creating psychological safety around AI experimentation
  • How to measure AI success through outcomes instead of usage
  • Why curiosity is becoming a more valuable hiring trait than AI expertise
  • The security risks of "shadow AI" inside organizations
  • David's 90-day framework: Align, Equip, and Prove
  • What leadership must do first before expecting teams to embrace AI

Whether you're just beginning your AI journey or trying to improve how your team uses it, this conversation will help you think beyond tools and focus on what actually drives transformation.

Our Best Practices for Outsourcing (First Edition) 17 Jan 202400:12:27

In this episode, Karla Singson pulls back the curtain on how outsourcing really works: beyond the hype, beyond the buzzwords, and beyond the unrealistic expectations many founders have when they hire their first remote professional.

Karla takes you behind the scenes of Proximity Outsourcing’s systems, explaining why most outsourcing relationships fail not because of skill issues, but because of poor onboarding, unclear expectations, and zero communication structure. She breaks down the exact processes, forms, scorecards, and communication frameworks that have helped hundreds of founders scale faster, manage less, and avoid the classic “VA nightmare” stories that flood the internet.

Whether you’re hiring your first remote professional or scaling your 10-person offshore team, this episode gives you the mindset and infrastructure needed to make outsourcing work smoothly from Day 1.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • Why onboarding determines 70% of your success with an outsourced hire How most companies skip this step entirely, and how Proximity structures it so both sides hit the ground running.

  • The three documents that make or break your hire:

    • The Job Description + Success Metrics

    • The Client Chemistry Form

    • The Customer Avatar Form

Karla explains how each one prevents misalignment, misunderstandings, and unnecessary headaches.

  • How to set deadlines realistically, and why most founders unknowingly set their RPs up to fail Plus: When to use time-tracking tools and when to absolutely avoid them.

  • Why urgent tasks need explicit communication, not just a Trello card drop And how to insert surprise tasks without destroying your RP’s workflow.

  • How to give clear instructions that produce better results with less back-and-forth Karla shares simple tweaks, like using Loom, giving templates, and describing the “ideal outcome,” that instantly improve output.

  • The real role of your CSM (Client Success Manager) They’re not just support; they’re the advocate for both you and your remote professional. Karla explains how they can prevent issues, fix problems before they escalate, and save your relationship with your hire.

  • Why positive reinforcement works better than pushing harder, especially with Filipino professionals Karla explains cultural nuances many Western founders miss, and how small acts of acknowledgment lead to massive loyalty and performance.

This episode is quick, practical, and built to help you avoid the common pitfalls founders face when outsourcing for the first time. If you want your hire to feel aligned, supported, and successful, instead of confused, overwhelmed, or underperforming, this is the episode to listen to.

If you have ever wondered how the process works, what makes Proximity different, or what to expect as a client, this episode breaks everything down clearly and transparently.

Karla shares the full behind the scenes of their three brands under Proximity Solutions LLC:
Proximity Outsourcing for subscription-based remote roles, Proximity Placements for one time recruitment, and Proximity Projects for one off builds like websites, systems, and creative assets. What really happens during your free consult.
Why Proximity asks about your goals, your past experiences, your success metrics, and the true responsibilities of the role before recommending any hire.

Why recruitment takes two to three weeks.
How Proximity screens candidates through interviews, vetting, background checks, skills tests, software tests, creative tests, and optional personality assessments like DISC or Myers-Briggs.

How your Client Success Manager supports you.
From the first call to the interview scheduling to ongoing communication, your CSM becomes your advocate inside the company and helps ensure your success long term.

How the top three candidates are chosen for you.
Why Proximity filters dozens of applicants down to the best three and what to expect during final client interviews.

How subscriptions work, why you need to onboard within five business days, and what your first 90 days with your RP usually look like.

The full guarantee when things do not go as planned.
What happens if you do not like the candidates, how rehires work, when refunds apply, and how subscriptions are paused and credited if a replacement is needed.

Karla also gives honest insight into why the first 30 to 90 days with a remote hire feel messy, why communication with your CSM is crucial, and how Proximity handles issues quickly so you never feel stuck managing things alone.

If you want a clear, transparent understanding of how Proximity Outsourcing works and what makes their process different, this episode will answer every question.

5 Roles You can Outsource for Revenue Optimization 17 Jan 202400:19:10

In this episode, Karla Singson challenges the traditional view of outsourcing. While many founders hire virtual assistants just to "save time" or handle administrative tasks, Karla reveals how to shift your strategy toward "Revenue Optimization" by hiring roles specifically designed to improve your bottom line.

Karla shares her personal journey of growing her agency from zero to seven figures in a year without spending a single dollar on ads, attributing this success to strategic hiring. She breaks down the five specific roles that go beyond basic support and actually drive sales, retention, and business intelligence. Whether you are new to outsourcing or a veteran looking to scale, this episode provides a blueprint for turning your remote team into a profit-generating machine.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • The power of the Lead Generation VA Why consistency is key in outreach and how a dedicated VA can handle appointment setting, follow-ups, and calendar scheduling so you never miss a deal, even when you’re on vacation.

  • How to turn Customer Support into a revenue stream Karla explains why support isn't just about answering tickets; it’s the perfect opportunity to upsell complementary products, secure subscription renewals, and gather crucial feedback.

  • The most underrated role for scaling: The Research and Data VA Stop guessing and start making data-driven decisions. Learn how this role can track competitor moves, organize internal data, and help you spot financial leaks or opportunities you’re missing.

  • Why you need a Client Success Manager (CSM) for the "Three Rs" Most founders are great at acquisition but struggle with retention. Karla details how a CSM focuses on Retention, Reviews, and Referrals to turn clients into evangelists.

  • Elevating your brand with a Social Media VA Moving beyond just posting content, this role acts as your "online reception," managing your reputation, telling your origin story, and helping potential clients make buying decisions before they even talk to you.

Karla’s advice is practical and results-oriented. If you have a working offer and you are ready to move the needle in your company, these five roles make it very hard to fail.

What Makes us Different at Proximity Outsourcing 17 Jan 202400:12:13

What Makes Us Different at Proximity Outsourcing

In this episode, Karla Singson opens up about something most outsourcing companies never talk about: what truly separates a great outsourcing partner from the dozens of agencies offering quick hires, generic VA pools, and low-cost labor.

Karla pulls back the curtain on the philosophies, systems, vetting practices, and cultural foundations that make Proximity Outsourcing radically different, and why those differences directly impact the results founders get. She shares the behind-the-scenes decisions that shaped the company, from hiring only in stable regions of the Philippines to designing white-glove onboarding experiences that match each client’s goals.

This episode is a rare transparent look at what it takes to hire and develop world-class remote professionals, and why so many founders struggle when they work with agencies that focus on speed instead of quality.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • Why being an all-Filipino team is a strategic advantage How cultural intelligence, shared backgrounds, and deep contextual understanding create better communication, higher retention, and stronger performance.

  • Why Proximity is extremely selective about clients The surprising reason the company rejects “bad bosses,” unstable businesses, and anyone who threatens team morale, and how this protects both the client and the talent.

  • What makes Proximity’s hiring system different from traditional VA agencies Including multi-step vetting, software proficiency tests, English assessments, background checks, and hiring only in cities with stable internet and low calamity risk.

  • How custom recruitment transforms outcomes Why Proximity never hires from a pre-existing pool of VAs, and why each search starts from scratch to match the exact skills, personality, and goals needed for a role.

  • Why their onboarding experience feels ‘white-glove’ A look at the personalized kickoff process, success metric mapping, and the unique role of the Client Success Manager (CSM) who stays involved long after onboarding ends.

  • The ongoing development plans that elevate remote professionals From B2B communication coaching to Six Sigma certifications, accent training, and continuous improvement frameworks that help every RP grow in their role.

  • What no other outsourcing company is doing with benefits Karla breaks down Proximity’s industry-leading benefits program, from private life and accident insurance to health care, telemedicine, mental health counseling, gifts, workshops, and open-to-the-public learning events.

  • The core values and everyday philosophies behind the company culture How principles like “love and protect the customer,” “love and protect your teammates,” “winners not whiners,” and “your purpose is bigger than your ego” shape the team’s mindset and performance daily.

Karla’s honesty and passion shine through as she shares the philosophy that built Proximity Outsourcing into a trusted partner for founders worldwide. Whether you’re hiring your first VA or scaling an entire remote team, this episode will give you a clear understanding of what great outsourcing should look like.

If you’ve ever wondered what makes some remote talent teams succeed while others collapse, this episode will give you clarity, standards, and inspiration.

The Lowdown: What It's Like Working with Filipinos on a Remote work Culture 17 Jan 202400:35:04

Karla Singson walks you through the real-world truth about hiring and working with Filipino teammates. Based on her years growing up in the Philippines and building Proximity Outsourcing, Karla explains how Filipino culture shows up at work, what to expect from communication and management, and how to get the best from an outstanding talent pool.

Karla starts with background about the Philippines and the BPO industry, then moves into practical advice for hiring, onboarding, giving feedback, and creating a culture that helps Filipino remote professionals thrive. This episode is perfect for founders, hiring managers, and team leaders who want to work respectfully and effectively with Filipino talent.

In this episode you will learn:
• Why the Philippines became a global outsourcing hub and what that means for your hires
• How English is taught and why many Filipino teammates write and speak in a more formal style than you might expect
• Which roles Filipinos commonly fill and why you will often find solid corporate experience and degrees on their resumes
• How Filipinos communicate: why they avoid confrontation, how that looks in practice, and how to encourage directness without causing discomfort
• Practical onboarding and feedback tactics that get results, including using clarity, purpose, and praise to build psychological safety
• How to train for critical thinking and initiative so teammates stop following checklists and start solving problems proactively
• Cultural nuances that matter: family obligations, Holy Week, holiday expectations, and small gestures that build loyalty
• Employee care that actually matters: benefits, team care, and small gifts that increase retention and productivity

The most intriguing part
Karla explains how a simple shift in onboarding and feedback changed her whole team: when you repeatedly tell Filipino teammates you value honesty and intelligence, and then show it through how you act, they begin to speak up, take initiative, and treat the job like their own. That shift turns polite compliance into real ownership and drives faster, safer growth for remote teams.

Why listen
If you are hiring remotely and want a team that is loyal, English fluent, and deeply service oriented, this episode gives the cultural context and the exact management moves that work. Karla’s advice is practical, specific, and easy to apply on day one.

How to ACTUALLY Make Millions with Content with Kevin Yee 27 Jul 202600:56:06

Most creators don't have a content problem. They have a monetization problem.

In this episode of Rich and Remote, Karla Singson Booth and Alex Booth sit down with Kevin Yee, former Head of Sales for Ali Abdaal, who is building his seven-figure YouTube business in public.

Kevin shares what he's learning as he grows his creator business, along with the lessons he learned helping scale high-ticket sales for one of YouTube's biggest creators. From building trust before the sales call to designing offers that practically sell themselves, he explains what separates creators who build profitable businesses from those who simply accumulate views.

The conversation explores why audience size isn't the metric that matters most, how founders should think about delegating sales, and why the strongest creator businesses are built around solving one clear problem instead of chasing viral content.

If you're building a personal brand, growing a YouTube channel, or using content to attract clients, this episode offers practical insights on turning attention into a sustainable business.

In this episode:

  • Why millions of views don't always mean millions of dollars
  • The difference between entertainment content and revenue-generating content
  • How creators can build offers that naturally convert
  • What Kevin learned leading sales for Ali Abdaal
  • Why trust matters more than aggressive sales tactics
  • When Founders should stop selling everything themselves
  • How customer success supports long-term business growth
  • The role of personal branding in high-ticket sales
  • Why content should solve problems not just attract attention
  • The biggest mistakes creators make when trying to monetize their audience

If you're creating content to grow your business, not just your following, this episode will help you think differently about sales, positioning, and long-term growth.

3 Real Reasons Why You Work 60+ Hours a Week 20 Jul 202600:24:05

What if burnout is not just a time management problem?

In this solo episode of Rich and Remote, Karla Singson Booth gets honest about something a lot of entrepreneurs quietly normalize: being constantly busy, constantly tired, and somehow still feeling behind.

Instead of giving another surface-level productivity checklist, Karla goes deeper, into founder burnout and the real culprits underneath. She unpacks why some founders struggle to delegate, why "high standards" can sometimes hide something else entirely, and why certain business models keep people trapped in overwork no matter how disciplined they try to be.

Here's what you'll learn: How to spot when burnout isn't about your time management, it's about your business model. Why delegation without guilt matters more than grinding harder. And how to build a sustainable entrepreneurship practice that doesn't demand you sacrifice everything to make it work.

This episode is especially for founders who have built something real, but are starting to realize that the way they are working may not be sustainable. If you're overwhelmed, exhausted, and wondering if there's a better structure underneath all this, this one's for you.

In this Episode:

  • why burnout is often deeper than a calendar problem
  • the hidden identity issues behind not delegating
  • what ego can look like when disguised as “high standards”
  • why some founders struggle to hire great people
  • how certain offers create burnout by design
  • the difference between building a business and building a well-paid trap
  • the question every founder should ask if they want more freedom

If you’ve been telling yourself you just need to be more disciplined, this episode may help you look at the problem differently.

What happens when the place that shaped you is also the place you feel called to outgrow?

In this episode of Rich and Remote, Alex and Karla Booth talk about something deeply personal for both of them: leaving their hometowns, building a life elsewhere, and making peace with what that decision gives and takes away.

From Idaho to Davao, from Seattle to Thailand to Mexico, this conversation moves through the emotional and practical sides of leaving home. • the fear of leaving, and the fear of staying too long

The ROI of PR is Forever with Bryce North 06 Jul 202600:33:25

What if PR is not just about visibility but about building the kind of trust that keeps paying you back for years?

In this episode of Rich and Remote with Alex and Karla Booth, Alex and Karla sit down with Bryce North, founder of Don’t Be A Little Pitch, to talk about what PR really does for a business when it’s done well.

Bryce shares why most founders think about PR the wrong way, why trust beats leads in the early stages, and how earned media can shape everything from partnerships and sales conversations to hiring and authority in your space.

This is a really good episode for founders, coaches, consultants, personal brands, and online business owners who know they need visibility, but want visibility that actually compounds.

In this episode:
  • Why PR should not be judged like paid ads
  • How earned media creates trust that compounds over time
  • The difference between attention, credibility, and actual authority
  • Why partnerships can be one of the biggest hidden returns of PR
  • How PR helps pre-frame trust before a sales call even happens
  • The role of vulnerability, story, and personality in getting noticed
  • Why founders with imposter syndrome still need to learn to tell their story
  • How strong PR can shape who reaches out to work with you, buy from you, or partner with you

If you’ve ever wondered whether PR is really worth it — or how to think about it beyond short-term leads — this episode will give you a much better lens.

The State of Social Media in 2026 with Kate Buck Jr. 30 Jun 202601:03:28
The State of Social Media in 2026 with Social Media OG Kate Buck Jr.

Everyone published their "2026 trends" list in January. Then they stopped paying attention. The problem is that the year already moved. What looked true in Q1 is not what's actually showing up in the data now, and the gap between the two is where most personal brands are about to lose six months they can't get back.

So we did something different. We pulled the real numbers from Hootsuite, Sprout Social, and Metricool's study of more than 39 million posts, then sat down with someone who has watched every algorithm shift since 2008 to make sense of it.

Here's the part we'll say out loud: the things winning in the back half of 2026 are the exact things AI cannot fake. One of them is hiding in plain sight, and most people are doing the opposite of what the data rewards. We name it in the episode.

About my guest: Kate Buck Jr.

Kate Buck Jr., known online as @katebuckjr or simply "KBJ," has been called the Godmother of Social Media, and the title is earned. She got her start on Twitter in 2008, accidentally built a reputation as a social media expert by answering questions, and within 18 months was earning more than double her previous income. That accident became an empire.

Today the numbers speak for themselves. She has trained over 50,000 social media managers and built a boutique agency serving names like Keala Kanae, Perry Belcher, Mark Moss, and Russell Brunson. She has consulted with top brands and spoken on stages worldwide, including SXSW and the Traffic & Conversion Summit. She is the founder and CEO of Social Media Pro, the certification her students proudly display on their profiles year after year, and she runs it all as a full-time digital nomad.

She has also burned it down and rebuilt more than once, which is exactly why her read on what's coming next is worth more than a recycled trends post. Kate doesn't guess from vibes. She's been reading the signals for almost two decades.

I’m lucky enough to have spent a huge chunk of my life with her, as best friends, since 2021. Fun fact: She was my maid-of-honor for my 2023 Mexico wedding! Kate and I nerd out on social media a lot, and this time, you get to be the fly on the wall.

Why you'll want to hear this one

If you have a personal brand and you use it to make money, this is the strategy session you didn't schedule but needed. We get into why the aesthetic influencer is quietly losing ground, why posting more is the wrong instinct right now, and the one format that has become completely human-proof.

There's also a prediction about where the smart money is moving its budget before Q4, and a platform shift that has every agency scrambling for a point of view. We tell you what it is. We don't tell you what to do about it. That part's the conversation.

Press play. Bring a notebook. This is the episode that decides how your next six months go.
