While listening to a podcast by Rainer Wylde (the specific episode eludes me), his words sparked a reflection on my past. He emphasized the importance of both partners being fully committed to growth in relationships, partnerships, and marriage.
One particular phrase stood out: "show the mess." Interestingly, this message had already been resonating with me repeatedly. Initially, I believed I was already open and transparent, sharing my struggles with others. But then it dawned on me—there's more to my story that I haven't yet revealed. By doing so, I may offer liberation to others who may feel isolated in their own struggles.
Sharing our vulnerabilities has a profound impact. When I hear others speak openly about their challenges, especially those I believed were unique to me, it provides a sense of relief. Now the nocebo effect is equally powerful, caused by negative thoughts. The belief you have a terminal illness can actually cause you to die, and negative thinking is much more common in our current world.
You are either the placebo or the nocebo.

The truth is, we all deserve to live in harmonious environments. The reality is we typically don’t.
The average household uses dozens of products that contain toxic substances. The average person uses several to over a dozen products ON THEIR BODY that contain toxic substances. You all do know that what goes on your skin, goes into your body, right? What you breath in, goes into your body.
Over time, that use and exposure adds up. It’s not just me being nit picky. It’s not ‘sensitive’ of me or high maintenance of me to speak up about toxins. It’s me taking a stand for health. When you love something, you will hate anything that comes against it.
What we tolerate, dominates.
We wonder why we are not feeling our best.

Getting the help we need shouldn’t be so damn hard. However, for many of us it is.
The truth is, society is not set up for our health & well being. We are all more collectively burned out than any of us cares to admit. We don’t want to admit it because we make it mean something bad about ourselves. We feel shame, grief, frustration . . . we feel like we just have to keep showing up saving face OR we can’t show our true mess or needs for fear of judgment or rejection. Perhaps we feel like we are being a burden. Perhaps we feel like people won’t really understand or be able to help us.
The truth is, I myself have needed help for far longer than I’ve been willing to admit. As a single mom of four boys, what I really needed all this time was a community that would help me raise my sons. There are a myriad of reasons why I didn’t get the support I needed. It took me a long time to finally start to share my struggles with my community and ask for support.
I’m sure the same is true for many folks; asking for help means we have to first admit that we do not have all of our ‘metaphorical shit’ together. In a society that shows no mercy. In a world that we are all slogging through, burning the candle at both ends usually. Many of us are just treading water, trying to get by instead of truly thriving.

I had a couple clients bring this up this week: anything in 3s I know I need to do a podcast -so here it is.
First person was someone who has been burning the candle at both ends since forever and just started back up training for the most intense race of her life. She was puzzled by why she couldn’t do it like she could before one day when she had shortness of breath and dizziness. I asked her to get her blood pressure checked ASAP because off hand she did not know what it was or the last time it was checked.
Here’s why it’s an important marker for health, especially when it’s low NAMELY because we never hear anything about what to do if it’s low or what it means if it’s low but rather are just ushered along; after hearing ‘your BP is nice and low’
They don’t have a medication for that (yet) so it’s clearly nothing to be concerned about…
It's not helpful to be told that a low BP is a good thing - if you get light headed when you go from sitting to standing quickly -you'll agree, it's disturbing and if left unaddressed could lead to worse dizziness.

Talking about food sensitivities & why elimination doesn't heal you

Navigating food intolerances/sensitivities is something I have gone through myself and it’s something I have to explore with many clients as well. There can be a lot of moving parts to this food ‘allergy’ equation. It’s not as simple as ONLY avoiding or removing because then you never uncover what led to this and what can lead you back towards freedom.
It is important to honor our bodies where they are at when they signal a NO around a food. BUT it’s equally, if not more so, important to live in a FREE body. A body that doesn’t have to view real food as a threat. That is not a joyful way to have to live.
I’ve seen some pretty amazing things happen around recovering food intolerances over my years doing this work. One thing I want to relay is that you don’t have to accept ‘food allergies’ as your lifelong fate. I’ve even seen true anaphylactic peanut allergies reversed over time.
In the end, elimination and avoidance do not HEAL or free you.
Nourishment, rebuilding and repairing the body over time does.
It’s up to you to choose which space you want to be in (limitation or freedom).
Your nervous system will try to keep you safe by avoiding the food but you can choose to honor that and lean into the unknown towards healing anyway.

In this episode, I chat about the conscious community I'm now a part of as well as creating. On the heels of 2 years of this crazy global situation we all find ourselves in, it's a conversation worth having.
Humans are social beings, and the need to belong is deeply ingrained in our nature.
Belonging to a group or community we can identify with helps us develop a stronger sense of personal and collective identity. It can also give a boost to our self-esteem and to our willingness to take on the world and make our dreams happen. But the importance of community goes beyond that.
So, just why is community important? To answer the question we can look at what happens if we don’t have community we can call our own. Since we’re inherently sociable beings, feeling disconnected from others can deeply affect our self perception and emotional health.
Indeed, some studies have linked the emotional strain of loneliness caused by social isolation to physical illness, including sleep disorders, heart disease and a weakened immune system.
In this episode, I share a bit of my own story around creating a new collaborative freedom community. I also got real as to how the past 2 years has created a lot of break down in many people's relationships and why we SO need each other!

Self-doubt serves no purpose, it just holds you back from living the life you want.
Why do you doubt yourself?
For me it was conditioning from childhood (from my parents, my church, society etc...). I didn’t feel like I was worth much of anything for various reasons.
But now that I’m an adult it’s my job to parent myself out of that conditioning and mind space.
Here’s the thing; you and I were meant for something special while we live and breath on the planet. You and I, we each have our own purpose, calling, darma and gifts.
And deep inside you and I, our deepest gifts are there, even if we don’t 'see' them yet.
Your life purpose, your gifts, your dreams - they are are MEANT to come out of you and into this 3 dimensional world. You will sense a deep inner ache until they flow freely out of you.

When magnesium makes you worse (IMPORTANT MESSAGE)

Magnesium the miracle mineral could only possible have good intentions and affects, right? While magnesium is an imperative mineral good for human health, sometimes the body is not quite ready to receive it in the way we give it.
In this episode, I dig into what you need to consider if you've tried magnesium and it made you feel worse instead of better. Trust me, you're gonna love this episode. Buckle up because this episode is fueled by my firey side (and lots of LOVE)!
So many people come to the mineral banquet and just assume they can dive right in to their hearts content (metaphorically speaking), yet often times there is a lot going on in their system that could make it not go down so smoothly.
I start the episode with a REFRAME we all need to hear whether we are dealing with magnesium backfiring or not.
I also referenced plenty of past episodes I've done that could correlate with steps you may need to be taking or education about your body that you don't yet know or have yet.
Bottom line: everything affects everything. No mineral acts as a god unto itself. No system works alone no nutrient works alone. Every single one of us has a lifetime of factors that can play a role in how we approach our nutrition. Even just getting magnesium implemented and tolerated properly.
So, if you are feeling frustrated that magnesium isn't working right for you yet - do not give up and don't blame the magnesium. It's an invitation to go deeper. To learn more about your body and how it works. To seek the right path for YOU and you only! Your body is different than any other body on the planet, so it needs it's own approach. Even if there are blueprints, formulas and protocols out there -it doesn't always mean they will work seamlessly for you.

Could you be hypoglycemic without even knowing it?

Every hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA) I review I see some sort of blood sugar imbalance, usually hypoglycemia, and the person doesn't even realize it's occuring.
Basically hypoglycemia is an early stage of diabetes but it’s often ignored in the medical world and so it can progress before you even realize it into diabetes.
Remineralizing in the body helps with our ability to improve glucose metabolism at a very deep level this also gives a level of food diversity back to the person so a high protein or restrictive low carb diet is not necessary.
Restoring glucose and carbohydrate metabolism is really about restoring the bodies energy system. It’s kind of like if the fuel system in the car wasn’t working right you wouldn’t get enough power to run the car. The same is true in the human body.
Restoring the bodies overall energy system helps because energy is needed for all body functions ranging from your immune system to your glandular and digestive systems. Energy is needed for all the activities you do including thinking and moving your body. So when your energy system improves every aspect of life improves as well.

In this episode, I talk about what I'm calling your inner "stress barometer" which notifies you when your mind and body are under too much strain.
When you become aware of your inner stress barometer- it can help notify you when you need to give your body more of what it needs. In order to restore your equilibrium you have to find the right balance in your life in order to restore harmony.
Does your body "act up" when you are stressed? Do you get strange sensations that make you worry you might have something seriously wrong with you? Do you listen to your inner needs when you are spread too thin, or do you "power" through it, depleting yourself further?
Understanding your stress stage reveals how your body functions, allowing you to correct underlying body chemistry beyond just symptoms.
Ideal stress response? No response. On a hair analysis, this means a balanced oxidation rate - absorbing experiences without reacting, free from attachment to any physical or emotional state.

There is a bit of a hierarchy when it comes to minerals - we have our macro minerals and the main two most of us know are calcium and magnesium. This mineral pair really cannot be separated and requires the OPPOSITE balance we've been taught. We really need a higher magnesium and lower calcium consumption for optimal energy and health.

Fall Back: Heading into the dark days (what you need to know)

As humans our #1 nutrient is actually LIGHT. Natural light from the sun and working with the daily rhythm it provides, as well as the moon and it's light phases for the female hormone cycle.

In this episode, I talk about bio-individuality. A fundamental concept that can help us embrace the profound beauty of a flexible, integrative approach to nutrition.
While we humans share many similarities, nature created each human being as their own unique microcosm. We are more remarkable for the ways we differ than for the ways we are alike.
Understanding the concept of bio-individuality as it relates to you will free you from the lunacy of the media saying one day that, greens are good for you, and the next day – they're bad for you. One day, coffee is helpful to prevent dementia, and the next, it can kill you. Meat causes cancer vs. eating high amounts of meat is the only way to weight loss.
Giving our power away to external sources and one-sided sweeping generalizations is not only insane, but it diminishes our own inherent intuition as to what our unique bodies need to heal and thrive.
Our ancestors knew to keep it simple, gathering local, organic foods that were in season – but we're now distracted with foods coming from all over the world no matter what season it is. We've got a rash of chemicals and GMOs in our food supply that never existed before and a very real need for convenience that truly presses us to the point of adversely affecting our health choices.
It's so important not to lose touch with your body's natural instincts. Maybe some of you need to get in touch for the first time ever and how you do that is by tuning in -not by tuning out to all the messages broadcasted on the daily about nutrition.

In this episode, I'm giving a pep talk if you will about how to shift from focusing so much of your energy on externals and doing and get back to your center, yourself and BE present with who you are and what you want.
Let's face it ladies, many of us are frazzled by life. We are juggling A LOT in burned out bodies without 'the tribe'. We've lost sight of what is most important - BEing nourished (in all ways).
I go into what I think being nourished means as well as how you can totally forget your to-do list when you shift gears and put your well being at the top.
In this episode, I shared a quick eagle's eye view on dairy and how we got to a time in history where we demonize it. I truly believe dairy is a power food. And, if you can tolerate it currently you should not remove it just because some 'expert' said it's bad for x,y,z reasons or health 'conditions'.
A health 'condition' does not have to be a state of permanence or something we own anyway. I share 3 keys to consider when it comes to dairy: 1. the quality of the dairy, 2. your heredity/ancestry, 3. your current state of health.
Why remove an entire food group if you don't have to. Elimination doesn't heal you, nutrition does. Renourishing the body and restoring function takes time, therefore patience.
In this episode I'm share why I’m so tired of all the over analyzing about what foods humans should or shouldn’t eat and people talking about this diet or that diet for this dis-ease state/ label or that.
There is no single diet created by a human- that will ever work long term for anyone or anything. I don’t even care how much ‘scientific literature’ there is behind a given diet- there is no scientific literature out there that has the ability to observe all humans over the span of a lifetime.
What I can say is, quality matters and to the degree it is possible I encourage sourcing quality outside of the modern slave system that has been created to mass produce cheaply for a profit with zero intention of benefiting the consumer’s health.
That said - if you study ancestral health and the foods of your ancestors you will learn that humans have always had to adapt to a variety of factors - depending on the region and climate that would.
Everyone’s body is different and there may be some healing to do to tolerate certain factors in given foods.
The big problem is not the original source of the food but the altered version in your altered state.

RANT: Do you really need to PUSH your vitamin D levels so high?

In this episode, I went on a little vitamin D rant because I’m still hearing it preached by ‘health experts’ especially in light of Covid
I was listening to a recent talk , and the speaker was bragging about his stored vitamin D levels of 90.
But a large body of evidence in the medical literature strongly suggests that optimal vitamin D levels might be lower than these figures. There is little to no evidence showing benefit to 25(OH)D levels above 50 ng/mL, and increasing evidence to suggest that levels of this magnitude may cause harm. Consequences of vitamin D toxicity include heart attack, stroke, kidney stones, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, weight loss, and low bone density
I view supplementation from a metabolic standpoint via tissue mineral analysis studies and the interrelationship between vitamin D and other nutrients, endocrine and immunological factors.

In this episode, I talk you through the difference between hair analysis and blood analysis.
Hair analysis (HTMA) and blood analysis are unique and measure different areas of the body. Since HTMA is less familiar, I thought I'd expound on how it offers a window into the cells to help balance body chemistry.

In this episode, I share a piece of writing I found recently with a few tweaks of my own added (original author unknown). It's in response to the collective times we are in, where people put expectations on others around their health choices. Where people call people selfish for not doing what they think they should do.
It's also a good reminder that owning your NO -for whatever it may be you have a resolve around is valid. No one should make you feel selfish for honoring yourself, your needs, your choices and trusting your own intuition.

The Magnesium-Calcium Relationship and Why It Matters For Muscle Health

In this episode, I'm covering one of the biggest mineral imbalances we are collectively dealing with. Collectively we are dealing with an excess of calcium and a deficiency of magnesium. There are many reasons for this. Our depleted soil for one thing. Calcium fortified foods have been around for many decades, yet nothing has been done to rectify our magnesium deficient soil, water and food. This creates an imbalance in the calcium and magnesium ratio in favor of calcium, but this is not a good thing for our bodies.
Calcium is regulated and controlled by magnesium.

In this episode I talk more about thyroid metabolism and how to support with a systemic approach. As well as a focus on nutrients in, toxins out.
Hair analysis shows additional and different information about thyroid activity than blood tests do and I feel it's incredibly valuable. Blood thyroid tests do not reveal much about thyroid physiology or metabolism. They usually only measure circulating hormones (T3 and T4) and pituitary stimulation of the thyroid (TSH). HTMA is excellent to help assess thyroid difficulties. It can indicate imbalances in many steps involved in thyroid hormone metabolism.
Imbalances can occur at any stage of the production or utilization of thyroid hormone. The concepts of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism are incomplete and often misleading as they only relate to hormone production and release.

To me, health freedom means CHOICE. It means honoring nature. It means not being coerced into a one size fits all model. It means honoring our intuition and trusting our bodies healing potential. It does not mean we cower and choose what we are being 'forced to accept'.
It means we know that we have a choice and will not be bullied to comply to a path that we know intuitively and firmly is not right for us.

In this episode, I talk about how antibiotics have never been tested safe for the human microbiome. They are also one of the most toxic classes of drugs and doctors hand them out like candy.
It's time to be HONEST about this excess overuse of antibiotics, so we can make educated decisions and create a better path to support our health.
I'm very passionate about this after seeing hundreds of clients health harmed in the long run in part by excess use of antibiotics over the course of their lives.
We can do better. In fact, we must.
