The Matrix: Resurrections pulls the ReWatchable panel back into the fold for one last ride with the original crew. Although everything seems slightly the same, this meta retelling of the series offers something new for everyone. Leaning into the film took a bit of effort at the start, but the film still laid the groundwork for another discussion of the larger themes of the piece from Lana Wachowski. Join us as we ask the big questions, such as: Did this movie need to be made? Did we enjoy it? Did Keanu make another joke?! Fun Facts

| Episode #347 - 'While You Were Sleeping' - Little White Lies | 24 Dec 2021 | 02:09:08 | |
Happy Holidays from ReWatchable! Our hosts have once again come together to celebrate with another holiday special. This time we watch the legendary Sandra Bullock try to untangle herself from the she-said, she-said lie of While You Were Sleeping. Despite the fact that the plot that could have easily been resolved very quickly with no fallout several times throughout this movie, we find ourselves tangled up in enough of the delightful antics to discuss whether Bill Pullman holds his own against Sandy, debate whose lie is worse (Lucy Moderatz or Joe Fox), and whether we appreciate public demonstrations of love or not. Before we get into the episode notes, if you are a ReWatchable fan from way back, we have some exciting Subjectify content for you! Natalie Fisher spoke with our dear friend Giles, Anthony Head, about his new project The Canterville Ghost and more! Read Part One and Part Two of our Anthony Head interview here! | Episode #338: ‘Pitch’ 1x10 - The Controversial Mound | 08 Jun 2020 | 02:11:17 | |
The ReWatchable hosts take the mound one last time to discuss the series finale, Pitch season 1, episode 10, "Don't Say It." Superfans: Danielle and Ariana Newbies: Kendra and Natalie Fun Facts: Kendra went slacklining! She is very, very cool. Natalie completed her front garden, and is making the world better a little piece at a time. Ariana made a Chrissy Teigen crepe (it was quite ugly, but very delicious), and Danielle took a social distancing drive down a generally busy but now eerily quiet downtown Chicago. Pitch season 1, episode 10, "Don’t Say It" - Mike is back in the clubhouse! He doesn’t exactly get the warmest of welcomes, but Sonny did try and do his part to get the slow clap going. - Bachelor Mike has to confess to Blip that Chicago did not accept his rose, but Blip is going through his own problems right now and is not here for Mike’s mess. - Mike and Ginny decide they don’t need to talk about last night, so they don’t, but the SUBTEXT is screaming that they have some *ehem* unresolved stuff to work through. - Sometimes it’s nice when people play the guitar, but sometimes it’s cringey— like when a billionaire mogul performs in a coffee shop... - Mike’s ex-wife knows what she is doing and frankly it’s not cute. - Al tells Mike he doesn’t want The New Girl deep down, he wants the girl that’s always been there, but Mike is dumb and doesn’t realize this is just a metaphor. - Evelyn wants more out of life and we support her in spirit but still think a restaurant isn’t the greatest idea in this economy. - Blip is tired of being everyone’s backup guy, and he is VERY tired of Mike being a sulky baby. - Screwgies is a terrible idea but from a production standpoint it would at least give us a standing set. - Ginny is really nice to her stealing brother, and really mean to Amelia (who maybe had it coming, but not like this!) - Ginny is the center of Amelia’s world, which is deeply sad because it’s not reciprocated. - We have some VERY strong feeling about whether or not Ginny should have been pulled from her no-hitter game. Multiple hearts are broken. - Favorite scenes - Favorite lines Make sure to join the ReWatchable ReWinders group on Facebook and chat with us about all sorts of fun ReWatchable-related things! Superfans: Karen and Natalie Newbies: Kristen and Mitch Fun Facts: Mitch watched 2 I Know What You Did Last Summers and enjoyed seeing SMG in something non-Buffy. Karen has been watching all sorts of old movies, but particularly Sidney Poitier's back catalog. Kristen is thoroughly charmed by a red carpet picture of Kristen Bell and David Harbour. Where do his allegiances truly lie now? -We feel like the sole remaining Trio member has a greater purpose. -In the end, Andrew admits to himself and Buffy that he did some truly evil things and we aren't sure how we feel about it. -Xander and Anya have sex. Wait, what? -Is this closure for them or just another development? -Spike vs. Principal Wood: Who should we cheer for? Seems anticlimactic. -What is next for baby Connor? -Favorite Scenes -Favorite Lines Listener Feedback: -WE GOT AN ITUNES REVIEW! -Mitch's reaction to Rat Amy's return to humankind was well worth the wait. -Buffy makes it clear that vampires don't have souls in the Buffy-verse, and that makes for an even more interesting debate than the usual, "Do vampires have souls?" debate. It seems romantic, but it's uncomfortable because of what Willow did the night before. -"I'll Never Tell" has Anya and Xander laying out all their worries about their impending marriage. -They immediately run to Giles to get this musical thing to stop. -The woman getting a parking ticket is Executive Producer Marti Noxon. -Spike's song, “Rest In Peace,” is basically what we think Buffy needed to hear from Spike. -Mitch is not a fan, but Ariana is totally here for this. -Dawn makes Tara aware of the fight/Willow's spell. -Dawn gets kidnapped, so we only get two lines of “Dawn’s Lament.” -We have a chat about Dawn's kleptomania. -Michelle Trachtenberg requested an extended dance number in place of extensive singing. -“What You Feel” introduces us to Sweet and starts us figuring out what is going on with this MotW. -Sweet reminds Mitch of Him from The Powerpuff Girls. -Sweet's minions were waaaay creepier than Sweet himself. -Giles' singing was wonderful in “Standing” (even if we got distracted by the stunt double and the green screen). -“Under Your Spell”/”Standing” Reprise gives us the answer to Tara's question about the sprig she found under her pillow. She's hurt and pissed. -“Walk Through the Fire” is Caitlin's favorite, especially when Buffy kicks in the door. -“Something to Sing About” gives us the big reveal of the episode. We were all really affected by Buffy's admission that she was in heaven. -“What You Feel” Reprise features Xander admitting that he summoned Sweet. -Sweet peaces out when he realizes it's Xander that summoned him and he has no interest in taking him for a husband. -Spike leaves during “Where Do We Go From Here” and Buffy follows, which leads to the coda, and... -Buffy and Spike kiss!! -Favorite Scenes -Favorite Lines Angel season 3, episode 7, "Offspring": -Synopsis -Pregnancy plot lines have a purpose! -Darla and Angel make a HUGE mistake in the flashback. -There's definitely some flirting going on here. Thanks, Fred, for pointing it out. -"Moira is the gut physical attraction between two larger than life souls." There's definitely some moira going on here. -We are finally getting a good look at the real Fred. -Caritas is coming back. Lorne is rebuilding. -Fred gets her calculations a little off and Holtz is coming back in 3..2..1.. -Holtz is this season's big bad, right? -Darla is staying put until they can figure out what is going on. -Favorite Scenes -Favorite Lines Listener Feedback: -A Hypable staffer and faithful listener has an interesting theory about why Willow didn't sing much in "Once More, With Feeling." -Even we can't imagine nine hours of ReWatchable! Thanks for listening! -Sokka got "lei-ed." Let the giggles commence. -We definitely liked the musical episode, and are happy to surprise fans that may have been worried. -"Billy" definitely missed the mark due to misogyny being learned, not born. -We get an alternate idea for how to plant Dawn in their lives that may have made everything easier. He's hurt. -Is this demon the consequence Spike was talking about, or are there greater magical consequences on the horizon? -When Buffy saw the pictures change: Demon or resurrection side effect? -MOTW: Thaumogenesis demon (not a hell dimension hitchhiker) -This side effect demon is another sign of just how unnatural this spell was. -The demon is not just punishing Willow & Co., but is berating Willow for the evils she committed just to get the ingredients for the spell. -Buffy wasn't in hell, like they all think she was. -She chooses to share her knowledge of a heaven-like afterlife with Spike, but keeps it from everyone else. -Her friends are the ones who ended that peace. -This explains why Willow & Co. chose to leave Giles out of things. If Giles had been consulted, they may have left her dead. -Foreshadowing is fun. -A few thoughts about Xander and Spike's relationship and the hypocrisy there. -Favorite Scenes -Favorite Lines Angel season 3, episode 3, "That Old Gang of Mine": -Synopsis -Note: This episode was initially supposed to be aired as the second episode, but they switched it. -Even the writer of this episode didn't like it. -We definitely didn't expect Angel to be talking to Merl in the opening scene. -Angel's sincerity can be measured by the gift he brings you. -Poor Merl. -Gunn figures out who is killing these demons before anyone else. Very. -We would totally watch a show called "My Teen Moms." -Willow is doing her best for Dawn, even if it isn't the healthiest way to raise a teenager. -The Buffybot is still around, and they are all dealing with how she isn't Buffy in different ways. -Spike has taken Dawn under his wing, and is doing his best to protect her. -We continue to be amazed at all the emotions that Spike is capable of. -And now we dive into the Willow of it all. -Willow knows that Giles, Spike, and/or Dawn would probably try to stop her from resurrecting Buffy, so she doesn't tell them. -No one stops her, maybe because they are afraid of her? -Willow, in her grief, believes that since she can bring Buffy back, she should. -This is definitely not true. -We all agree that if they would have dug up Buffy and looked her in the eye (or eyeholes), -Poor Buffy wakes up in her coffin, and we are curious as to how she will deal with that reality with the group. -Will she yell at them for making her dig herself out of her own grave? -"Is this hell?" -Where has Buffy been this whole time? -We really appreciate that Dawn is the one to talk Buffy off the ledge. -Favorite Scenes in Part 1 -Favorite Lines in Part 1 -Favorite Scenes in Part 2 -Favorite Lines Part 2 Listener Feedback: -Why didn't Angel buy the hotel?
