ReRooted
Becki Hills and Nicky Wightman
Frequency: 1 episode/12d. Total Eps: 4

Our bond with the seasons, the land, and the natural world has grown increasingly distant.Â
The sense of being firmly connected to the earth beneath our feet has faded, and the delicate roots of nature itself are dwindling beneath our steps.Â
Through the ReRooted podcast, we aspire to rekindle this profound connection and revive the essence of rootedness within us all.
To connect with the seasons is to connect with the Earthâs natural rhythms, so weâll be releasing episodes seasonally, ReRooting ourselves to the changing environment around us.Â
Our first episodes will be released in the depths of winter, in January 2024, with the blues in full swing and listeners in need of comfort and hope.Â
Weâll focus on the lives of regenerative farmers during the colder months; on growers and planters tending to their rewilded plots; and on the activists hoping to open up our countryside to all, especially at a time of year where it feels the hardest to get outside.Â

The "Face-Down, Bottom-Up" Approach to Botany with Leif Bersweden
Season 1 ¡ Episode 3
mardi 13 fÊvrier 2024 ⢠Duration 44:38
This week, weâre joined by the brilliant botanist, writer and nature communicator, Leif Bersweden!
Leif recently finished a PhD at Kew Gardens where he focused on the fascinating reproductive behaviours of four types of orchids, or, to put it a little more salaciously âthe secret sex life of anthropomorphic orchidsâ. Leif is also the author of two highly commended books: Where the Wildflowers Grow and The Orchid Hunter, both recounting his journeys around Britain and Ireland in search of fascinating plant life.Â
Leifâs mission is to encourage us all to pay attention to the plants between the cracks in the pavements, the wildflowers hidden in plain sight, and the nature that can be found in the most unexpected of places.Â

lundi 8 janvier 2024 ⢠Duration 01:15
Welcome to ReRooted, the podcast seeking to rekindle our relationship with the natural world and revive the essence of rootedness within us all.
ReRooted is an interview series which aims to reconnect us with the land, the seasons, and the natural world. With planetary well-being at the heart of our mission, we have been travelling around the UK to learn from the incredible people working at the forefront of this movement.Â
From two inspiring regenerative farmers on the Isle of Wight to wild swimmers and botanists, we hope these conversations compel you to help protect our beautiful planet and spend a little more time outside.
Working on this project over the past few months has been the most wonderful and inspiring experience. We've learnt so much from the brilliant guests weâve interviewed and cannot wait to share their stories with you!
