After selling a successful business in the climate tech sector, I was ready for a new chapter. I yearned for a deeper connection with the natural world but couldn’t see how to connect that with my skills or turn it into a viable business. So, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery. 4. The Inner Work of a Regenerative Career Transition (Interview with Ryan James, Pt 1)

mercredi 4 septembre 2024Duration 21:01

I'm joined by spiritual guide Ryan James to discuss redefining success and purpose through a regenerative lens. We explore the profound importance of who we are and where we are as a foundation for meaningful career change.

Building on indigenous wisdom, Ryan invites us to:

  • Reassociate with the land beneath our feet and its history

  • Recognise Earth as a living, evolving being rather than a resource

  • Shift our perspective on purpose and success

We discuss how the journey to a regenerative worklife begins internally, contrary to the action-oriented mindset many of us default to. Ryan explains:

  • The interconnectedness of our internal and external worlds

  • How Earth's evolution influences our own consciousness

  • The true meaning of "crisis" and "emergency" as opportunities for growth

This episode invites you to reconsider your definition of success and explore what it truly means to live a purpose-driven, regenerative life.

3: Tips to Avoid Corporate Greenwash in Your Sustainable Job Search

mercredi 4 septembre 2024Duration 16:38

In this episode, I explore what defines a truly regenerative career and offer guidance for those who are navigating a sustainable job search while trying to avoid corporate greenwash.

I share insights on how corporations often co-opt progressive language for their own benefit and explain why terms like "sustainable," "green," and "impact" may not always align with truly regenerative practices.

This episode invites you to:
• Challenge your existing paradigms about work and impact
• Consider the broader ecosystem affected by your career choices
• Develop a more nuanced understanding of regeneration in practice

I'll share 4 essential definitions that will help you to identify truly regenerative opportunities and avoid the pitfalls of corporate greenwashing in your pursuit of purposeful, planet-supporting work.

The path to a regenerative career isn't always linear or straightforward. Embrace the complexity, sit with difficult questions, and trust in your ability to contribute to positive change.

The definitions in this episode were inspired by the work of Kasper Benjamin Reimer Bjørkskov, you can follow him on LinkedIn here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kasper-benjamin-reimer-bj%C3%B8rkskov-660a4899/

2: Building Financial Stability in a Heart-Centered Business (Regenerative Coaching with Julia)

mercredi 4 septembre 2024Duration 38:28

Julia was stuck on how to create financial resilience and effective  marketing approach for her equine-facilitated learning business.

Marketing lessons from nature

In this on-air coaching episode, Alisa shows Julia how she can be guided by the wisdom of her equine companions to unlock a marketing approach that resonates deeply with her purpose and values.

As she embraces vulnerability and shares her "why" – the driving force behind her venture – a palpable shift occurs. Suddenly, the disconnect between her corporate marketing tactics and the heart-centered nature of her work becomes glaringly apparent, paving the way for a transformative mindset shift.

In this episode, you'll hear Julia:

  • Recognizing the disconnect between her current marketing approach and the essence of her regenerative business

  • Discovering the impact of leading with authenticity and sharing her personal story

  • Embracing the wisdom of her horses and inviting them to guide her marketing efforts

  • Committing to a mindset shift that aligns her sales strategies with the regenerative principles at the core of her work.

5: Decolonisation and Discomfort in Regenerative Work (Interview with Ryan James, Pt 2)

mercredi 11 septembre 2024Duration 44:43

Immerse yourself in the second part of my conversation with Ryan James as we explore the profound shifts required for truly regenerative work.

Today, we delve into the interconnectedness of all things and challenge the compartmentalised thinking that often keeps us stuck in unsustainable patterns.

Ryan invites us to:

  • Reconsider our relationship with common terms like "regenerative" and "circular economy"

  • Embrace the discomfort of change as we align our work (and lifestyles) with planetary needs

  • Reconnect with the elements that sustain us, starting with a powerful daily practice

We discuss the importance of "re-association" – remembering our connection to the earth and all its systems. This process involves:

1. Examining our surroundings

2. Embracing grief as a catalyst

3. Shifting our perspective on success

For those feeling the call to more purposeful work, this episode offers an Earth-rooted perspective on what that journey might entail. It's not just about finding a new job – it's about fundamentally reshaping our relationship with the world around us.

6: Embrace the Messy Path to Purpose in Regenerative Work

mercredi 18 septembre 2024Duration 43:26

In this intimate episode, I'm taking you behind the scenes on my two-year journey from climate tech entrepreneur to regenerative career mentor. It's a story of trust, curiosity, and embracing the unknown – essential elements for anyone considering a similar transition.

I share my personal struggles with letting go of the corporate mindset and allowing myself to explore unconventional paths. From forest bathing to "coaching in the wild," each seemingly frivolous experience played a crucial role in shaping my current work.

Redefining Purpose

I challenge the common narrative around finding your purpose, offering a fresh perspective that aligns with regenerative principles. Instead of viewing purpose as a destination, I invite you to see it as:

  • A feeling of connection

  • Alignment with your values

  • A garden to be cultivated

Lessons from the Journey

My story illustrates four key takeaways for those embarking on their own regenerative career transition:

1. Create Space - Learn why giving yourself time (and often, financial breathing room) is crucial for authentic exploration.

2. Embrace Play - Discover the power of childlike curiosity and how it can lead to unexpected breakthroughs.

3. Trust Your Curiosity - I explain why following seemingly random interests might be the key to unlocking your path.

4. Mind Your Thoughts - Understand how to navigate the internal voices of doubt and societal expectations.

This episode offers a raw, honest look at the messy, non-linear process of aligning your career with regenerative principles. If you're feeling lost or questioning your next steps, my story might just give you the permission and inspiration you need to keep exploring.

18: Find Your Focus, Get Your Hands Dirty, Create Things That Matter (Regenerative Sticking Point with Cloé)

mercredi 11 décembre 2024Duration 34:00

Many people working in corporate sustainability—like Cloé—feel deeply frustrated by the gap between their desire to create meaningful change and the reality of their work. They’re passionate about addressing challenges like climate change, fostering stronger communities, and reconnecting with nature, but often find themselves stuck, overthinking the “perfect” career path. The result? No action, and no impact.

In this episode, I sit down with Cloé to explore how to break free from that paralysis and start making tangible progress toward a career that matters. Together, we discuss:

  • Why searching for the “perfect option” can keep you stuck.

  • How to shift from overthinking to taking small, actionable steps forward.

  • The power of guiding questions like “What brings me joy?” and “What am I most likely to move forward with?”

  • How small, hands-on experiments—like growing mushrooms in your shoe cupboard—can spark creativity, clarity, and confidence.

Cloé’s journey highlights how aligning with your values—whether through community, nature, or impact-driven projects—can help you regain focus and build momentum. Progress doesn’t require perfection; sometimes, the best way forward is simply to get your hands dirty and see what grows.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, doubting your impact, or unsure where to start, this episode will inspire you to take meaningful action toward a regenerative, sustainable career.
